Montgomery County Man Found With Explosives Inside Car: Authorities

The suspect was arrested at the scene and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, a prohibited weapon and components of explosives

A Montgomery County man was arrested Saturday, February 17, after deputies found explosives in his car, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason Lee Warner, 32, was arrested after deputies responded to reports of a vehicle disturbance in the Timber Lakes subdivision in South Montgomery County.

The bomb squad was called and they found an intact improvised explosive device and several other components that could be used to make explosives, according to khou.com.

Montgomery County Fire Marshal Jimmy Williams said to The Courier Montgomery County, “bomb technicians recovered an intact (IED) and several other components from the vehicle that could be used to make additional devices. They also recovered a military-grade explosive initiating device and an intact grenade fuse assembly. All of the explosives were rendered safe and recovered by the MCFMO Bomb Squad.”

Warner was arrested at the scene and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, a prohibited weapon and components of explosives.
