a major investment in our services to ensure that we can continue to plan positively for Swindon's growth, to deliver high quality design and maintain a competitive and productive economy.
You will be experienced in assessing and commenting on planning consultations as well as in examining and assessing S38/S278 detailed design submissions on behalf of the Highway Authority and/or preparing transport appraisals and detailed designs of highway works.
You will be responsible for providing an effective service covering all aspects of Transport Development Management across the Borough. Your role will role will play a critical part in assessing transport interventions associated with development sites, providing the Local Highway Authority decisions in the form of recommendations to the Local Planning Authority on infrastructure together with examining and assessing detailed designs for Technical Approval for a range of projects ranging from a pedestrian crossing to major infrastructure delivery for urban extensions, inspection of works, and adoption of new transportation assets.
Working within the national guidelines, contributing and developing Swindon's own development standards you will deal with a range of projects varying in size and implications. Your will ensure timely responses on planning consultations and detailed design submissions and that records are compiled in accordance with Council policies.
This role will involve partnership working across service areas, in particular with Highways & Transport, Planning, Law and Democratic Services, and developers in the context of transport development management from planning approval to detailed design and inspection of new transport infrastructure.
