Dietrich Earns Spot on American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I., Feb. 26, 2018 – USF baseball junior catcher Tyler Dietrich (Naples, Fla.) has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Dietrich hit .500 in four games last week with a .714 slugging percentage, and he hit .545 (6-for-11) in the series win against Fordham. He began the week going 1-for-3 at No. 3 Florida State with a double and a run scored.

Along with the rest of the USF bats, Dietrich was locked in the last two games of the Fordham series. He had a career day and propelled the Bulls to a 3-2 win Saturday night, going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two singles and three RBI. The four hits and three RBI were both career highs and his two doubles tied a career mark.

On Sunday, Dietrich again had a multi-hit outing, going 2-for-5 with a run scored. He also did a great job behind the plate with the arms, as the pitchers totaled 31 strikeouts and a 2.00 ERA over the weekend. Through the first seven games of the year, Dietrich is hitting .360 with three doubles, four runs scored and four RBI.
The Bulls are back on the road Wednesday for a matchup at Bethune-Cookman. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
