She is light, she is colour. Her beauty and innocent zest for life crack the cold exterior of my heart, shining a light on its shrivelled darkness. I crave her touch like a drug, a drug I can’t give up. They call me the Heartbreaker, but the tables are about to turn.
Ashley
I am not ready for love to tie me down. The pieces of my life are finally coming together. Then I bump into a stranger and my life changes forever. He is everything I am not, but I crave his touch, the sound of his voice. Now I have to decide if I walk away from the man I love or if I let the Heartbreaker win.
There were parts of the story that I did enjoy, but it also dragged for me. I think that the premise of the story was maybe lost on me and I couldn't get on board and finding out his profession. I did enjoy the angst of the story and wished that there was more to that aspect of the story.
The book was good, the storyline was ok but I never though there would be a job where you would hire them to do a breakup that you couldn't do yourself that's just is not how it works. There is more to the story but it wasn't for me!
Heartbreaker is the first book that I've read by either of these authors, and I enjoyed the originality of it. See, Jackson has a very odd job, he's known as the Heartbreaker when he meets Ashley. And what makes it even crazier, is he's determined to make her his. However, Ashley is that rare female who isn't prepared to settle down, so she puts him through the paces, even when she finds herself craving him, but his job kind of adds to her keeping him at arms length. I really did enjoy this story line a lot, as it's definitely one that I found original. However, there were times that it lagged a bit, and please remember that's only my opinion. Jackson was a very layered hero to me, as his job made it hard for me to fall for him, yet, when he met Ashley, he was a different man. And Ashley was frustrating at times, but somehow together, their chemistry made the push & pull work. These two authors meshed well together in my eyes, and I loved that they told the story in dual POV. Add in the secondaries that added drama & humor to the mix, a couple of twists, and I found myself enjoying this story, so will be reading these authors in the future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
From that chance encounter in the bar when Ashley steps on Jackson's foot, there is a sense that these two have found the one. Now, the challenge is will they believe it. Jackson doesn't do relationships but this unicorn hair, tattooed, confident woman has him ensnared him. Yet, there is a comfort when he is with Ashley, he doesn't have to pretend that he's never known but will he trust it? Ashley is captivated by Jackson but doesn't feel he is interested yet she can't get him out of her mind. The way these two connected along with the misunderstandings and well, pranks they pulled on each other were so fun to experience. I enjoyed how this relationship grew, they were both tentative at times while willing to take a risk. There is an added element of suspense as Ashley has a stalker which provided a different twist to both of their journeys. Overall, a great romance with a wonderful supporting cast to keep add to the mixture. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Ashley is a colorful, bright, sweet, sexy girl with everything going for her .. successful business BUT .. you knew a BUT was coming right .. he man just doesn't do it for her .. is he gay ?? Then there is Jackson she meets on night at the bar and she thinks ... "Dahmmm" BUT then is he gay too ??
The night Jackson met Ashley he felt it at the first step on his foot .. she is the girl for him .. or is she ?? Rainbow Hair and Tattoos isn't normally what he looks for in a girl BUT there is something about her that his skin sizzles by her touch. With his past and job he doesn't know whether it can work but he is willing to go for it because that sizzle has to mean something right ??
When the past for both of them shows there ugly heads it makes you hope they can get through anything .. but this isn't an normal ha ha situation .. this is stalking, humiliation and what we this is love ..
Can there LOVE for each other break through or will it stay hidden until all the past goes away .. if it goes away ..
This book was just plain GREAT !! It made you laugh cry and scream .. sometimes all at once !!
Our past i definitely what sets us up for the our future. That can be especially true when you get your heart broken by the one you thought you loved. Jackson has devoted his life to helping people, well by helping with break ups. His career as The Heartbreaker is one that he keeps under wraps, not something a woman would want to know. But he has rules never seeing a woman more than once, until he bumps into the one he wants to bump into again. Ashley has had a bad track record with men, then she bumps into one that, would't you guess is gay. Well she assumes he is gay, and you know what they say when you assume? This is one funny and exciting romance that will have you thinking of fairies and rainbow hair along with one hot sexy man that will have you melting with his duality. Jackson and his Tinkerbell are one couple that have exactly what we all want passion and comfort throw in a little drama and a stalker and you have one hot read. A must have!!!
This book was so cute! I loved how they met and how she wasn't his ordinary type of girl. I also love the concept of his business. I never thought I would say that but he does it with care and compassion, well with the exception of his ex, she so deserved that. Anyway back to Jackson and Ashley, they had a cute meet and continued with flirtatious texts. Ashley was a fun character. I loved that she worked in a bakery and had fun hair. Also I loved that he called her tinkerbell. So much better than Ashley, if you ask me. She was the fun that he needed. I liked how you watched their love unfold and how she found he was the texter. Such a fun way to torment a guy lol. Jackson has a great family and its shown in this book. They support his business and love him regardless. They just want him happy. This book had so many steamy, sweet and moments when you just want to smack the both of them. I loved this book!
Jackson is known as the Heartbreaker but when he meets Ashley he is completely smitten and finds her like a drug that he cannot (indeed will not) give her up. Ashley is not prepared to settle down now that her life and business are coming together nicely. However when she meets Jackson she finds that she craves his touch and voice even though he is completely different to her. Can she walk away or can she live with those differences in order to be happy?
This is a charming love story that will definitely leave you feeling warm and gooey. Their differences seemed vast but attraction moved past that. I found the story a little fantastical in places but it did come back to the more basic parts of this kind of story. There were the obligatory set of issues with past loves or family which was a little monotonous, but it was definitely an integral part of the story. Well written and very clear and easy to understand.
Like they said opposite attract and this book shows how right that is. Jackson and Ashley are two very different people. Jackson is a very clean cut guy as for Ashley has rainbow hair and lots of tattoos.
The plot on this book was good there was an wow moment that I wished it was more detailed since it was an important part of the culmination of Ashley and Jackson's journey.
The passion this two characters showcase is so palpable you'll forget this is a fictional story.
If you're looking for something to read on an afternoon with a glass of wine, then this is one book you'll want to read.
I volunteerly review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Ashley and Jackson’s story had me hooked I couldn’t put it down. A story of first love heartbreak and meeting the one who you don’t think will be the one. This action packed story was a hot hot read. Jackson’s story of being the heartbreaker to woman and trying to help them feel better about it. When Ashley finds out she not happy especially when he let her down and left her at the hospital at the worst time. I loved these characters and the family feel and the chocolate. This is a must read series that won’t let you down. Highly recommend.
First time in reading from this author but not the one co wrote it with. They come up with in this one a unusual storyline that grabs your attention so far to say his job that is. This centers around Jackson and Ashley. The heart of the book was how these two and their chemistry built and the dance they did with each other. Really good in the romance department that feeds the craving on that also. They keep you interested so you do not waver. I did not think at first it could keep my attention but I soon changed my tune.
It's always an interesting concept that one moment in your life can completely pave your future path. Running a successful business, an interesting one at that, Jackson has a chance meeting with a women he thought would never turn his head. Enter Ashley, a vibrant, quirky woman, who also run a very successful business with her bestfriend.
This story had me intrigued in the beginning. I loved their initial courtship, but I did find the middle of this book a bit flat. It wasn't until near the end that things picked up for me. But overall a great read, with great supporting characters.
Heartbraker by Maddie Wade and Pavan Kaur is a standalone romance novel. Heartbraker tells Ashley and Jackson´s story. Ashley is a chocolate shop co-owner - a dream come true. And Jackson has build his own company: The Heartbreaker, he provides a service you´ll not find every day. He´s a pro break-up er, yep no joke. Heartbreaker is told in a dual POV and I was greatly entertained by this witty and fun read. I give sweet 4 stars.
I loved this book, for once the roles where reversed with Him being the quiet and self made businessman with no hard edges visibly on show, but with a steel core all the same when needed. And with her being the colorful, funny, outgoing and down to earth, easy going fairy :-)
The characters felt like real people with honest and believable emotions so it was more like listening to a friend then reading a book, I love that :-)
The twist in the story was scary and felt real and I so did not expect that at all, it gave it all a nice and edgy feel. So well worth the read!! :-)
This was a first from these two authors for me. It was a sweet and fun filled Romcom. Jackson and Ashley are opposites in all ways, but they made their story work. I couldn't get myself totally immersed in this story, but it was good all the same. I liked that Ashley didn't cave in to Jackson immediately and made him work for it, but that made for a lot of back and forth between the characters also, and I have a hard time with those types of stories. This is more around 3.5 stars for me.
I thought the book was good for me this was a unique story line, who would have thought to hire anyone to help with a break up. For Jackson that was his job, and he did it well. you meet Ashely who didn't want to have a relationship with anyone consumed with her job and he life she didn't think it was in her cards to settle down. that was until jackson change that for her. i loved the chemistry between them.
5 STARS FOR HEARTBREAKER!! This book was amazing!! I love opposite attract and Jackson and Ashley are so different, but so perfect. Their story had me flipping pages and savoring every moment with all the feels. These two authors did a fantastic job and compliment each other writing style. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is a quick enjoyable read. It’s a great rainy day, sit on the beach romance. Loved Jackson, he falls hard and fast while Ashley takes her time. Thought the little twist added just enough to keep you reading and there’s plenty of foodie delights too ;) Recommend if you want something light and a bit steamy.
A pretty sweet RomCom I really liked that book. Jackson and Tinkerbell are sweet and beautiful together. They are great characters and I like that Jackson's life didn't make him bitter but better. The plot is good and it's very well written. It's fluid and a very good read. I really recommend that light sweet romance.
I wanted to love it. So much potential but the errors were so distracting. They also caused some flow issues.
There were parts that definitely needed more backstory and details to keep the flow.
That said, the characters were great.
Opposites attract. Can the clean cut, straight and narrow businessman let go of his past to love a bright, tattooed, unicorn hair, chocolate making woman?
I enjoyed reading this book, it was much different than I expected. I liked the opposites attract idea and the chemistry between them. I also like the background characters, which is always a good thing. And there were a couple twists in this book that I didn't expect. Good read!
I enjoyed reading Jackson and Ashely's love story. It's a good book and keeps you on your toes with a lot of wonderful moments and action. Ashley may not be Jackson's type, we know that opposites attract and this one of them.
Absolutely loved this story! What an interesting career Jackson has and Ashley? She’s awesome. I read this story in three days time and didn’t want it to end! I enjoyed the twist to the story and actually figured it out before it was actually revealed! Looking forward to reading more by Ms. Wade.
A brilliant five star read I couldn't put it down from start to finish. I loved the every bit of it and I can't wait to see what's next from these authors and I will definitely be recommending it to friends.
This is a very different kind of breaking hearts. Kind compassionate story about a man who breaks up with girls on behalf of their boyfriend's. Until he meets his match. Sugar and spice makes Nice. Nice story line. HEA does exist
Jackson is swoon worthy and romantic, Ashley is not your typical leading lady and I love that she is more alternative than your standard leading gal. There’s some drama, mystery and some action. Great read.
What a fun and sassy but sweet read. I loved the antics of Ashely and Jackson and I just couldn’t put it down! I had to know what was going to come of these two and I am so glad I got the chance to read their story!
This was my first read by these authors and it was a pretty great read, but for me it needed a little something more. Heartbreaker was really well written and I would like to read more from these authors. I really liked it.
