The force announced their crime-fighting canines would be hitting the screens later this year.

The Scots canines and their handlers will feature in a new show that profiles units from across the rest of the UK.

And they’ll be joined by dogs who help the fire services too.

Police Scotland’s dog unit made the announcement on Twitter earlier today.

Bosses posted: "We are buzzing to tell you that our Dogs and handlers are going to part of a new @DiscoveryUK tv show!

"This will feature Police dogs from England and a Fire and rescue dog to!

Fans of the police dogs were delighted with the news.

And the Twitter post was shared dozens of times on social media.

Two adorable German Shepherd pups have joined the force’s dog unit.

And at just eight weeks old the boy and girl pups have made their Twitter debut, already gaining an army of fans.
