Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates.

Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.

But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.

Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancé.

Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real. . . .

I know they say love and romance hit you when you’re least expecting it, but I can tell you it knocked into me with the force of a hurricane, because I truly, honest to God, deep down in my heart, wasn’t looking for this with him.

I love a good sports romance with a rugged and sexy Hockey player, and Sawyer Bennett’s ”Cold Fury” series is on the list of my favorites. She knows she’s got a good thing going so I have to give her kudos for creating another Hockey series but with a new team. BISHOP is the first installment of the Arizona Vengeance series. The Arizona Vengeance is a new expansion team based out of Phoenix, AZ. Bishop Scott is the first player we meet and his story is off the charts, SMOKING HOT!!

This is another one of those stories that starts off with a wild one-night stand that was never meant to be anything more. But the Hero's one-night stand turns out to be the coach's daughter and circumstances force them to be in a "fake" relationship.

At first, I thought the plot was predictable but as the story progresses a character gets thrown in that will wreak havoc for the couple and even for the Vengeance. I didn’t exactly feel the connection between the main characters, but they made up for it with their sexual chemistry.

Overall, the plot was interesting and I did find myself enjoying it. I’d say this series is off to a good start. We meet quite a few of the players and it’s the player that has been broken by personal tragedy, who I am most anxious to read about. I hope the wait isn’t too long for his book!

Here are my overall ratings

Hero: 4
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4
Angst: 4
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

3.5 New Team/New Love Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
What does Bishop Scott do when he's been traded to another team...and not even an established one, nope an expansion team. One that is made up of high-cost players, bad attitude talents, and him. He knows, he gets out of this apartment, gets a feel for the new town, and maybe if he's lucky... get a little somethin', somethin' to release all of his stress...

Well, Lucky, lucky Bishop... because he hit the jackpot. Smokin' hot woman who has the same idea he has... to hit it, and hit it good...and then disappear as if nothing took place...Only problem is Bishop is kinda wanting to hit it again...

Brooke Perron cannot believe she just did that.
That is Not her... hitting it and then leaving. She is not a one-night stand person. But oh, this guy was something else....he made her tingle, he made her want to be dirty...and the O's delivered...something else.

Brooke is in Arizona because of her dad. She had a fantastic position in fashion in NYC but gave it up because her father is having a difficult time adjusting to the loss of her mother. Brooke offered to move out to be with him during this new beginning as the coach of the Vengeance expansion team. She is now working with the team as the one to arrange travel etc. It is not what she wants but it is a way to watch over her dad for a while.

It is the first day for all of the players to meet the team coaches and front-office types. During the meeting, Brooke is introduced. Bishop cannot believe standing there right in front of all the players is the one woman he wanted to see. Bishop decides to track her down and looks into all of the offices finally finding her.

Brooke is stunned Bishop is on the team... she had no idea of who he was or his connection to hockey. This is bad... really bad...And when Bishop comes into her office and closes the door, all the pinging and sparks that happened when they were together are going off like crazy.

The attraction to each other is so strong, when Bishop corners Brooke at her desk and starts to kiss and whisper in her ear all sorts of naughty, naughty things he wanted to do to her, she forgets where she is... and starts to melt and let go...

The door slams open and they split apart looking as guilty as can be but playing it off as if they aren't...Because of the one who opened that door...

Yup, it's her dad, Bishop's Coach... and the next thing Bishop hears out that sweet mouth he had been kissing is they are ENGAGED and isn't that terrific! Brooke knows she pulled that out of her a@@ but she didn't want Bishop to get into trouble with her dad...and she also didn't want her dad to get on her case.

So now what do they do...Well, after saying she's sorry for the millionth time, they figure out a plan to fake it for a while and then break up. That is all well and good until they both fall hardcore for each other.

Bishop is this free floater who never had a relationship or friendship with a woman. What started out as interest due to sexy times develops into more and he is taken back by it. He grows as a person and also matures as a player for the team. Brooke is a smart gal, talented and capable. She is conflicted because she loves her dad, hates lying to him, and wants a true career too. She is also finding Bishop to be much more than what she had pigeon-holed him. He is nothing like all the other hockey players she had to deal with through her father's career.

This was a perfect setup for the new Hockey Series for Sawyer Bennett. We were taken through the whole experience of a team coming together with all of the different personalities, quirks, and needs.
Sawyer Bennett knows how to write hockey, the players and women who capture their hearts.

Bishop is the first book in the Arizona Vengeance Series. Sawyer Bennett is back with more hockey action. The Arizona Vengeance Team offers a new cast of characters to explore. Bishop Scott is thrilled to have been picked up by the Vengeance and doesn't waste any time getting acclimated to the nightlife of his new city. After a hot one night stand, he is completely dumbstruck when he discovers that one of the sexiest nights of his life was spent with his new coach's daughter. Brooke is a new transplant to Arizona. After giving up her career in NYC in order to help her father, she never expected to be swept off her feet by one of her father's star players. When Brooke's Dad discovers Bishop and his daughter lip locked in her office, Brooke convinces her dad that she and Bishop are engaged. With a fake engagement, hot hockey action, and passion, Bishop offers a smoking hot hockey romance that you will not want to miss! description
"My mouth opens wide to come down on Brooke's pussy. I give it a full, wet kiss before giving her what I promised, and that's my tongue shoved in as deeply as I can."
Told in dual POV, Bishop is a fast-paced romance with complex characters and a tender plot. Although the premise of their relationship seems to be completely unbelievable, it actually makes perfect sense. Brooke is completely committed to keeping her father emotionally stabilized and ensuring a successful start of the season. The passion between Bishop and Brooke is explosive and as soon as they recognize their relationship is anything but fake, they will do whatever it takes to find their HEA! With plenty of drama and support from the supporting characters, this first read in the Arizona Vengeance ushers in a brand new team with an electrifying cast of characters!

Overall, I highly recommend anything and everything written by Sawyer Bennett. With unforgettable characters and an invigorating plot, Bishop is sure to get your blood pumping. November cannot come soon enough. I cannot wait for Erik and more Arizona Vengeance.

Bishop Scott is a professional hockey player who just relocated from New York to Phoenix to play for the NHL's newest expansion team, the Arizona Vengeance. He's going to have to adjust to a new city, coach and team. It's the last night before training camp starts. He decides the perfect way to end his summer vacation is a night out with friends. He also hopes to find someone to spend the evening with. He meets a gorgeous woman named Brooke, and has one of the best one night stands of his life.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Bishop never expects to see Brooke again, so he's shocked when he arrives at the arena and she's at his place of employment. He soon learns she's Brooke Perron, the daughter of his new head coach. When they are caught by her father in an intimate embrace, Brooke panics, and announces they are engaged. Things escalate and Bishop finds himself agreeing to this farce. He figures what harm can a few weeks of a fake engagement do. Brooke is stunning, and he wouldn't mind a little more time with her. They have a game plan and an expiration date. No expectations or complications. They are both thoroughly enjoying the benefits of their arrangement, and can't get enough of each other. Soon all the pretending begins to feel real, and they suddenly have to keep reminding themselves this is all to be an act. Brooke is falling hard for Bishop which isn't part of the deal, and at the same time Bishop is realizing he doesn't want things to end between them.

Bishop wasn't your typical fake-relationship romance with a ton of drama and lies. Instead I found this book to be a pretty light read without the distraction of too much angst. Bishop and Brooke were a great couple and I really liked how they didn't fight the strong connection they had together. The chemistry was off the charts hot and made this book very intriguing.

The heat level was a lot higher than I though it would be but I am definitely not complaining about that fact. I loved seeing how crazy Bishop and Brooke were for each other and how that passion in the bedroom turned into something much deeper.

Overall, I think Bishop was a great start to this new series and I can't wait to see what else will come of it. There was a really good setup for the other characters that will be getting a book and I'm excited to read their own stories.

When a one-night stand can turn into your happily ever after...

Bishop Scott has started on a brand new team, the Arizona Vengeance, after a successful career in New York. After the most incredible sex of his life, Bishop is ready to play his heart out on the ice. When he enters the arena, he finds the woman he spent the night with and he feels as if fate stepped in to make things sweet for him. He's ready to pick up where they left off and she seems willing... until they're caught in a compromising position by his new coach... her father!

Brooke Perron has left her cushy life in New York to offer support to her grieving father in Phoenix. After a co-worker fails to show up at the bar, she invites a hot stranger to her bed and has the most amazing sex of her life. Starting a new job for the Arizona Vengeance, she's surprised to see Bishop at her work place. It's like kismet or something. He brings her into a passionate embrace that may have led to more if her father hadn't walked in. To save face and maybe protect Bishop from the fallout of her father's temper, she lies and tells her dad that they're engaged. And that's how a one-night stand turns into a fake relationship and then into forever.

These characters were so adorable. They were incredibly likeable and the development of their relationship was almost natural. You know, aside from the fact that it was fake. But it was obvious, almost from the start, how NOT fake their feelings for one another were. And Bishop surprised the heck out of me with how sensual, dominant, and dirty he was. LOVED IT!! I found love for all of the characters, including the side ones and I'm excited to get to read their stories when they come out.

Featuring ~ fast burn, one night stand, coach's daughter, fake fiance, steamage

Why do I like hockey romances so much when I know nothing about the sport? Couldn't have anything to do with the looker on the cover, could it?

Bishop & Brooke have a one night stand and the next day find out he is on the team her father coaches, which happens to be the team she's now working for. She accidentally tells her father that they are engaged, which sets forth a fake relationship.

Quite a bit of steamage right out of the gate and throughout and I didn't hate it. Their chemistry was on point!

I loved them both. He had a great relationship with his mom, wasn't all into puck bunnies and shot it down when someone tried to take a shot at him. Brooke was really sweet, too sweet really and had trouble speaking up, but not so sweet in the bedroom 😉

We have a pill of a side character that you just know will cause a ruckus from the moment you meet her.

Series notes:
This series is a commitment with 11 primary books plus 1 novella. We're introduced briefly to the characters that they'll all revolve around. I'll definitely listen to them all since they're available on Hoopla, but I'll probably just fit one in here and there when I can.

Narration notes:
They both did a lovely job. Good dirty talking.

Hockey romance, First book in Sawyer Bennett's new series- Arizona Vengeance.
Sweet, lighthearted, fun and easy reading.
Bishop and Brooke were a good match with a ton of sexual chemistry, entertaining story but I felt the need to deduct a quarter of a star for the books rather abrupt ending.
Enjoyable read.
I don't really even need to look at the blurb anymore for this author's books.
I always like them and I always finish them.

I'm so excited that we have a new hockey series to look forward to from Sawyer Bennett. I adored Bishop. Maybe not at first, but the more time he spent with Brooke the more I loved how he treated her. For having a fake relationship, he was a great boyfriend to her.

So many times you see sports players equals tons of other women drama. While we do have that, I didn't mind it at all. In fact, I'm glad it was there because Bishops reactions to it was exactly what I want to see happen when faced with a woman trying to interfere. It's one of the biggest reasons I loved Bishop.

Brooke was a very sweet and mature heroine despite her silly reaction to her father catching her with Bishop. There were a few times she could have reacted badly and instead was calm and mature.

This ended up being a fun read. I am a little worried about Erik's story next. He came off as a major player in this book. It will be interesting to see where the author takes his story.

Bishop just arrived in Phoenix to play for their new NHL team. He's not really excited about that fact. His NY team was about to have an amazing season. But now that he's here, he might as well make the best of it. Meaning: finding the next willing lady in this bar.

Brooke was supposed to meet a new colleague at that bar, but she got stood up. And this hot guy is flirting with her. Is it wrong for a girl to want to have a one-night thing? Nope. Off to her place they go.

But this one night might turn into more - or at least more trouble than they planned. They meet again the next day - at work! She's the daughter of Bishop's coach!!!!!

And they're kinda accidentally engaged now. Whoopsie.

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO BROOKE & BISHOP????
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺☺☺

A new Hockey series! Yay!

Well, I would've preferred something a bit different - maybe football or rockstars - I don't like hockey all that much ... but ... why not another hockey series!? Lots of eye candy. ☺

And Bishop gave us a great first book.

It was funny and verrry sexy right from the start!

They start as a one-night stand that has to turn into a longer thing because they have to pretend to be together in front of her dad. And while pretending they might be falling for each other.

But of course a few obstacles stand in the way of our happy end.

I really enjoyed this book.

It was erotic and fun and sweet and I adored how much Bishop and Dax adored his mom! Too cute.

A lot of other players were introduced - there's a lot of material in Phoenix! ☺

Can't wait to see what Erik will be up to next! And Tacker!!! When will we get his book?!

BISHOP was a fun & erotic first book in this new hockey series! Great start!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own BISHOP - this one is MINE!!!!!

I had some problems with the writing ... as with every Sawyer book. It wasn't mega bad this time - but I still have to mention it.
It's Sawyer's and my THING ☺ It's only me who has those problems with her writing. So please don't be worried or just scroll down and don't read the following...
I have a HUGE AS problem! ☺ You know the AS's I'm talking about? The AS that could/should be exchanged for a SINCE or a BECAUSE or just a comma/dot/pause/whatever.☺ It's a British and or legal thing (if it's a thing at all!) and it doesn't have anything to do in an American book by an American author. I would be ok with it if one (British) character would use it, but everyone uses it! I really don't want to insult Sawyer. I love her books, but ... please stop doing it. But pfff who am I to tell her what to do, so just forget I said anything! It doesn't stop her books from being great!

“Tell me what you want.” “I want you,” she says simply. “All of you. All the time.”

We know exactly what we’re in for when we pick up a Sawyer Bennett hockey romance. An abundance of heat, alpha blokes, romance and an exhilarating sports experience as she takes us behind the scenes, into the dressing room, and on the ice with these hockey hunks as they put their bodies and their hearts on the line.

If you loved the Carolina Fury Series, you’ll enjoy the new Arizona Vengeance spin-off series, because all the elements readers enjoyed in that series are repeated in Bishop, the first book in this new series. A sexy sports romance told in dual pov.

Bishop Scott is as talented on the ice as he is off it. Being traded to start up franchise team The Arizona Vengeance, Bishop leaves New York and a string of one night stands to begin a new career in Phoenix.

A one night stand with a stranger turns out to be none other than his new Coaches daughter, Brooke Perron who has left a successful fashion job in New York, a life she loved, to be with her Dad in Phoenix. Brooke’s Dad has struggled to with grief following the passing of his wife, Brookes mother, 7 months earlier, and Brooke feels the need to be close to him to help him through his grief.

After being caught in a compromising position in Brookes office by the Coach, Brooke blurts out that she and Bishop are engaged and met in New York – much to the bewilderment of her father, who had never heard his daughter so much as mention Bishop. Brookes brain snap excuse was her ‘fix’ as she knows if her dad knew the truth of their one night stand, things could get very difficult for Bishop and she wanted to spare him being singled out for treatment by the coach, however, now they have to keep up the ruse relationship until they can ‘call things’ off and take any heat off Bishop.

Together Brooke and Bishop enjoy the physical side of their fake relationship and they certainly burn up the pages, however, as these things go, Bishop and Brooke begin to develop real feelings for one another.

‘She’s the only woman I’ve ever been with that makes me excited to see what tomorrow will bring.’

We felt the searing chemistry between Brooke and Bishop, we reveled in the hockey experience and loved Bishop’s relationship with his Mum. It was so heart-warming and brought a new dimension to Bishop we weren’t initially privy to. We did feel the Nanette storyline detracted from Brooke and Bishop somewhat and thought it was a little unnecessary as Brooke and Bishop more than held the story together. The other issue we had was the lack of an epilogue. We really would have loved a little peek into their future and felt it would have finished their story off beautifully.

Bishop was an entertaining and very, very steamy read and a great start to the Arizona Vengeance series. We loved meeting new characters and catching up with old friends, and can’t wait for more. One character, in particular, HAS to get a book! Tacker tore our hearts out and his story is one we’re desperate to hear!

This one was a winner! It didn't take much to get me excited about this book. Once I saw Sawyer Bennett's name on the cover and saw that it was about a hockey player, I knew that I had to read it. The fact that it is the first book in a new series is even better. I have really enjoyed the Cold Fury Hockey series but I was looking forward to meeting a new group of characters. I ended up having such a good time with Bishop!

Bishop has been added to the new expansion team, the Arizona Vengeance, and is new in town. The whole team has just been put together and he is excited to see how things will work out. He goes out to a local bar the night before his first team meeting and meets Brooke. The two end up spending one very steamy night together. Turns out Brooke is the coach's daughter and an employee of the team and things are not as simple as they thought it was going to be. When Brooke tells her father they are engaged, Bishop doesn't know what to think.

I don't always spend a lot of time reading book descriptions so I had no idea that this book was going to have a fake relationship. I love the fake relationship trope lately so I was really excited to see it play out in this book. These two had such great chemistry with each other so it was really no hardship for them to have to spend a little bit of extra time with each other. This fake relationship started looking pretty real to me rather quickly.

I really liked the characters. Bishop and Brooke were both new in town, having moved to Arizona to be a part of the new team. Brooke is dealing with a few more changes in her life since her new job isn't really what she wants to do long term but she feels like she needs to be there for her dad. Bishop wasn't really all that thrilled to have to move to the expansion team but he wants to make the most of it. There were a few of Bishop's teammates that played a pretty big role in the story and I really liked what they added as well. There was one character that was really hard to like in this book but it was kind of fun to see all the crazy things she was doing.

I would recommend this book to others. I had a great time with this romance and found it to be the perfect blend of great characters, steamy scenes, and heartfelt moments. I cannot wait to read more of this series by Sawyer Bennett!

I received a digital review copy of this book from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley.

Initial Thoughts
This was a winner! I really didn't read the blurb for this one since I knew that I wouldn't want to pass up a Sawyer Bennett book about a hockey player. I love the fake relationship trope so this book worked really well for me. Bishop and Brooke were both great characters and I had a blast watching them fall for each other. The character causing all of the trouble in this book was so over the top that it was kind of fun to see what she would do next.

Sawyer Bennett launches her Arizona Vengeance hockey series with Bishop, a hot, funny and earnest goal.

Bishop Scott has just been transferred to the new NHL expansion team. It’s a fresh start in a new city, with new teammates and even a brand spanking new team jet. He’s also eager to check out the local hotties and the hottest one of all wants to have fun, with him.

The night was sizzling but no phone numbers were exchanged until more sparks fly when he bumps into her at his place of work. It must have been fate. That is until Bishop’s boss barges in and demands to know what he has his hands all over his daughter. Surprise! But things really get really interesting when Brooke introduces him as his fiancé. They can go along with the charade for a bit and then break things off, right? Or will their fake dating turn into more?

With Bishop and Brooke, Bennett provides two witty and charming characters. Bishop is a super hot hero with a body only athletes such as hockey players posses, but it was his caring nature that made him so appealing. He was determined to win on the ice and with his thoughtful and hidden soft side, he was able to win at love too. Brooke only ever saw Bishop the man, not the star. She’s independent and equally kind hearted. They’re perfect for each other.

The book starts with scorching chemistry and in true Bennett fashion the bedroom scenes are outstandingly sexy, but the story is layered with the deep bond that grows between Bishop and Brooke. While I started in need of a cold glass of water because of the heat, the last chapters made my heart singing with swoony romantic gestures, with a whole lot of hockey excitement in between.

Bishop is about a one-night stand that became more, taking me on a fun, sexy and heartfelt journey. In which we not only get to enjoy the romance between hero and heroine, we’re introduced to an entire new group of hockey players who we’ll get know more of in upcoming installments. Hockey romance and Sawyer Bennett fans alike are sure to enjoy it!

Bishop is book #1 of the Arizona Vengeance series by Sawyer Bennett. It is told from both points of view with a happy ending.

2 1/2 stars. I feel like there is an off-putting pattern in the last few Bennett books that I have read. The heroes are all crude pigs. I think they're supposed to be Alpha but instead, they come across to me as crass a$$holes. Take Bishop for instance. He goes along with Brooke's lie to her father, which basically is supposed to be to protect him, and then pretty much TELLS her they will be having sex while maintaining said lie. His internal dialogue made me feel like he wasn't even going to give her a choice. I think that ever since the Wicked Horse books, her hockey books have veered off a little too far into raunchy for me. Not very scintillating at all. I find myself wrinkling my nose while reading them. And that makes me sad.

Bishop and Brooke accidentally fall in love…

A one-night stand is the catalyst but love is the key as Bishop and Brooke are brought together in the most unexpected way. Thy have one hot evening but don’t expect anything more than that. When they run into each other at work – surprise, surprise! – their extra-friendly greeting triggers a reluctant, though harmless, deception…

I’m not a huge fan of the fake engagement or relationship trope. I’m just not. But when one of my favourite authors starts another hockey series I ran to pick this title up – and I’m so glad I did! The chemistry between Bishop and Brooke was HOT! And it burned and sizzled as they soldiered through all the details of their sudden “love” story. As they bonded even more over work commitments and family get togethers, I felt the sizzle, then the like, then the love shine through.

With good friends and unexpected turns, this story had it all! I can’t wait for more Vengeance! ~Diane, 4 stars

OMG! This book is boring. Dragging and boring. I yawn many times and even falls asleep on some part of the audio book. The story is about fiancee of convenience. I was expecting the spotlight of the story will be on that convenience. But its not.

Its only focusing on a lot of sex between Bishop and Brooke. And the sex is luke warm. It drags on and on almost 80% of the book. The curve ball comes around 85% of this book with a stupid weak plot from the secondary character. It is so lame that I must rolled my eyes. The groveling part is also weak and almost done nothing to save the story.

I am familiar with miss Bennett story. I read some of her books on Carolina Cold Fury series. To me that series and this series is similar. Arizona Vengeance is just a bit longer.

ARC received for review

Bishop, a hot hockey player for a new expansion team, meets Brooke for a one night stand. Next day they meet again and are suddenly engaged thanks to Brooke's father walking in on a torrid kiss. Fake engagement, awesome teammates, crazy friend (or should I say psycho) and lots & lots of hot sex.

I forgot something...why not 5 stars? The ending. It just kinda stopped, but it needed an epilogue, in my humble opinion.

This is going to be a great series. I can't wait to learn more about Dax, Erik, Legend, Tacker, and I hope the new owner, Dominik. The one I want most is tortured Tacker, but I'm sure he's going to be last. Erik is up next, and I hope it's with the brunette who keeps snubbing him.

Despite my disappointment in the last few books in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series, I wanted to give her new Arizona Vengeance series a try; Bishop was a respectable first book in the series, but it was not without some problems. I do love when a one night stand comes back to complicate lives so I was thrilled when a star hockey player finds the woman he spent the night with sitting in an office at his new hockey home, but when he’s caught in a compromising position with her by her father his new coach, things get interesting in the complicated and sexy romance.

Bishop isn’t thrilled he was give up in the expansion NHL draft and landed with the Arizona Vengeance, but finding out his one night stand is the coach’s daughter on the first day of training camp and her telling her father they are engaged has him questioning just about everything. In some ways Bishop is a typical star athlete; cocky and entitled, but he is also committed to working hard to make his new team a success. I will admit about 15% into this book I almost stopped reading with this exchange. “You see, Brooke, I’m still just a little pissed that my life is going to be disrupted for probably weeks over this. And if I’m supposed to act madly but stupidly in love with you, well…you’re just going to have to give me something to help me past that anger so I look like I’m crazy head over heels for you and don’t actually want to strangle you.” She tries to push away from me, but I hold her with sheer strength. She tips her head back to look at me, eyes all frosted over with indignation. Brooke’s lips peel back in a snarl. “So you’re blackmailing me for sex?” Yes friends, that is our hero basically telling the woman who just lied to her father to protect HIM, that he expects sex for having to pretend to be her boyfriend. At that minute the SLEEZE factor was so high, I had to put the book down and walk away and that is not something I like doing when I’m reading. I did pick it back up and I did grow to like Bishop and honestly think he’s a pretty decent guy which made that exchange seem really out of place, but then Bishop went from confirmed bachelor, out for a good time guy to enjoying monogamy at the blink of an eye so it was hard to figure out which one was the “real” Bishop. However, on the professional side Bishop was a leader, conscientious, and determined to help his team jell and be the best they can be and for that I admired him.

I’ll admit I liked Brooke from the start; she was smart, independent, and not afraid to explore her sexuality on her terms. It was easy to see she was still reeling from her mother’s death and was concerned about her father’s mental health so she might have not acted rationally making up a fake boyfriend/engagement, but I could understand why she did it. What I didn’t understand was her inability to say no to her “friend” who appeared out of nowhere, the whole situation with Nanette, the “friend’, felt contrived and unnecessary and did nothing to further the plot although I have my suspicions that it will come into play in the next book.

As far as this pairing goes while they didn’t start off in the best light, I enjoyed watching them get to know one another, seeing their feelings grow, and loved how much their admiration for one another grew in the weeks they were thrown together. From the start their sexual chemistry was off the charts and that continued throughout the book, but even they began to realize that while they loved their sexy times, they also looked forward to just being together talking, having dinner, and laughing.

Despite my initial reservations with Bishop, there was enough good in this book to make me want to continue and to peak my interest for books to come. While I know Ms. Bennett will probably never read this review, it is my hope that maybe her publicist or editor will and going forward will take precautions to keep the male lead from having less of a creep factor and more of a hero factor.

*I received a free copy of [title] from [publisher] via Netgalley. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review, which is honest and unbiased *Bishop was amazing! I’m so happy Ms. Bennett is branching out with more hockey-players - and both Bishop and Brooke really did it for me.

Review - (un)Conventional Bookviews
Story:
There’s a little bit of suspense with Brooke’s friend Nanette, and a whole lot of awesome hockey-talk, relationships between the players, and within the organization at large. Of course, the whole hockey setting is partly what I loved about Bishop, however, the characters really did it for me as well! There's a certain camaraderie among these players, who were let go by their team to start a new team in Arizona.

Because Brooke wanted to make sure her father, the coach, wouldn't be unfair to Bishop, she pretended they were engaged when her father ran in on them kissing in her office. And that is the start of their relationship. I loved that they had more or less fallen for each other already - but both were playing it cool. Mostly this was because neither of them wanted to be the first to admit they had real feelings for the other.

There was a lot of hotness in Biship, but there was also a little bit of anguish, quite a bit of humor, and some opulence. Overall, I am so excited about this first book in a new series, and I just can't wait to see what Ms. Bennett will do with the rest of it.
Characters:
Bishop is such a stand-up guy, I loved him - his chapters made me want to get to know him in real life.

Brooke is exactly the kind of heroine I enjoy reading about - she's smart, funny, a little sarcastic, and just great. If I met her, I'd want to be her friend.
Writing style :
Bishop is written in first person point of view, switching between Bishop's and Brooke's perspective. The present tense made me feel as if I was inside the story with them.
Feels :
All the feels! I was so happy about this story. There was joy, there was romance, there was a little doubt, and there was happiness.

Bishop is the first book in the new hockey series Arizona Vengeance by Sawyer Bennett and I really enjoyed it.

The storyline is well written, well paced and I ended up reading it in one sitting.
Bishop and Brooke may have started out as a one night stand but after they agree to their little arrangement it quickly starts to develop into something both where not looking for but why not enjoy and explore this attraction while they could ;)
I loved watching Bishop and Brooke's relationship unfold, from the first meeting you can see they were going to make the bedroom sheet's burn with all their hotness. The chemistry between them was on point and seriously HOT!

description

It warmed my heart seeing them getting to know each other, opening up, sharing their pasts, their dreams and encouraging and supporting each other. This may have started as a one night of unforgettable sex but it turns into two people find their other half and unconditional love.

description

Another plus was getting to meet Bishop's teammates, Erik, Legend, Dax and Tacker. Watching friendships form and a little bit thrown in to incite us to come back and read their story's when the talented Sawyer Bennett shares her boys with us.

I'm praying to the book Gods above that Ms Bennett shares Tacker's story with us because that young man is breaking my heart with his pain :'(

Bishop is a great start to the new Hockey series Arizona Vengeance Series by Sawyer Bennett. It's a little dirtier than her Cold Fury books and I for one cannot wait to read more ;)

Erik's book is due next, I'm very interested to see how Erik will win Blue's heart, that boy has his work cut out for him lol

I received this book through NetGalley. I had no idea what it was about but loved her previous works. This book did not disappoint a bit. From the first page it instantly had me hooked. It was such an easy read that I read it within a few hours. It entails a bit of comedy, drama, hockey games, and romance. I love it when Bishop will be in charge in the bedroom.

Bishop is a hockey player being transferred to a new team. This team is starting new with players from other teams. The staff is new as well. I don't want to spoil this one. Just know I loved it and can't wait to read the next one.

A spinoff from the Cold Fury series with more hot ice hockey players and them going from being party, good time guys to wanting more. The series starts off with Bishop Scott. Transferred from NY to the new team in the league, Bishop is looking for nothing serious and wants to focus on his career. A scorching hot one-night stand turns into more when the lady, Brooke Perron turns out to be Bishop's coaches daughter. Brooke thinks she's saving the day by telling her father that she and Bishop are engaged but instead creates a difficult situation they can't back out of.

What ensued were lots of sexy times, introductions to other members of the Vengeance team and a bit of drama to keep things interesting. Was an enjoyable read and I look to reading the other books in the series.

4 Steamy CROWNS

Sawyer Bennett writes it all: contemporary romance, sports romance, suspense romance, etc. No matter what she writes, you know what is always the same?  How freaking HOT it is always is.  I can always count her to deliver a fun read and that steamy, especially when it comes to her hockey players.

Bishop Scott is the perfect athletic hero. Stamina for days. Killer body. Heart of Gold. Treats his lady right.  Sounds like perfection, right? He kind of is. Where your traditional hero would make some errors with the heroine or even the antagonist of the story, Bishop doesn't. He is kind of the dream.

Brooke is a lovely heroine. At times she is a bit a pushover, forgiving easily and wanting to believe the best in people, which isn't necessarily a bad attribute to have. This characteristic doesn't come into play for the hero and heroine, but it does open the door to the conflicts of the story.

The chemistry between these two in the bedroom is smoking, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Sawyer Bennett. I also enjoyed Bishop's and Brooke's dynamic outside of the bedroom as well. It seemed authentic and genuine, and readers will feel that they really do like each other. The conflict is alluded to withing the story and not really unexpected, but I have conflicting feelings about the resolution. While it was handled with the maturity of adults, it is resolved very quickly, making the pacing of the falling action and resolution to be very fast. I would have liked to be drawn out a bit more, something worthy of the build up and explosion of the climax.

Overall, I really enjoyed the new spin-off series from Sawyer Bennett.  It is steamy and fun, and readers are introduced to a whole new world of hockey players. I am already needing more stories for Dax, Erik, and Tacker, so I hope Sawyer Bennett is busy writing. She has me hook, line, and sinker.

Bishop is the first book in the new Arizona Vengeance series. It is a hot hockey romance with some hot hockey hunks... BUT so much more than that!!

A meet-cute, a one night stand, and a rash decision lead to a fake engagement. Bishop and Brooke’s relationship starts out as a sham, but despite a rocky foundation built on lies, it very soon becomes something much more.

“...she’s the only woman I’ve ever been with that makes me excited to see what tomorrow will bring.”

A really fun start pulled me right into this book and I just didn’t want to put it down at all. I loved this story and definitely swooned for Bishop, my new hockey BBF!!

REVIEW: 4 STARS
"No matter what led us to this moment, right now I'm yours..."

HONESTY FIRST: Well, if you've been following me for any amount of time, you know I am definitely no lover of fake fiancé/fiancée/marriage/relationship books. I honestly hate them. They are all dumb to me and I literally roll my eyes every time I come across one. They never live up to the hype or the reason that they are faking it.

~ "You need to for the sake of the company."
~ "You need to for status."
~ "You need to produce proper heirs."
~ "You need to join forces with the enemy to take them down."

Blah, blah, blah. Just NO. You will get a DNF out of me quicker than any other trope if it's a hidden twist in the book, which is why I avoid them if I can. I loathe them. I am of the kind that speaks her mind, so you aren't talking me into a fake relationship for any reasons I don't wanna accept - first of all, and basically - true love is not something you mess with. Period. So, why did I read this one? Well, for one, I love Sawyer Bennett and read everything she puts out, and two, I agreed to read it long before I ever knew the synopsis, so that had me biting my nails a bit. And I always stand behind my recommendations, or review them accordingly.....so I took one for the team.

So, dammit. Leave it to Sawyer Bennett to make me read through this trope and actually enjoy it. Ok? Ugh. Now, before I try to tell you why YOU should read it, let me tell you this much: this one had a slight twist to it that made it semi-conceivable as to why they would carry on this charade. I will admit that it got a little far fetched for me at one point and I was side-eyeing it a bit, but the characters and their personalities made me enjoy it and I was able to finish it with a smile on my face. Was it predictable? Well, sure. It was pretty much a guarantee of what was going to happen, but I loved seeing who it happened to first and it just flowed very smoothly.

If I am not a huge fan of this genre (who am I kidding), why and how could I possibly give this 4 stars? This one had a few things that really worked for it. It's not just that it's SB and I love her, because I will always be honest in my reviews no matter how much I love the author. If the book doesn't work for me, it doesn't work and I will let you know. Again, I stand behind everything I post about on my blog. But the characters....the personalities. Let me explain that one. Bishop thought he was going to get a one night stand. Bishop thought he was going to walk away. Bishop definitely lives up to hockey players' playboy ways. But Bishop has a softer side he doesn't show anyone. I loved Bishop.

"In this moment. . . right now. . . not sorry at all for how this has all gone down."

Not always does SB write an alpha badass. She usually writes a down to earth man with a cocky, yet dorky side to them. It makes them more endearing. Relatable. Real. But the insecurities, the wondering who is really feeling what, the emotions that were inevitably bound to come....I liked it. It worked for me. Yes, at first glance, he wasn't exactly boyfriend material. He sounded shallow, cocky....so sure of himself that he came across as somewhat of a douche. But that was SB setting the stage. For the beginning of what has clearly started out as a worthy series. Seriously, I love the way she can develop and start a new world and give us a glimpse into all the characters that will be comprising the stories to follow, yet never detract from the main couple and their story at hand.

Shockingly enough, I really did enjoy this one. In the end, this book gave me the smiles. I even giggled a few times out loud because of what was said/done. It was enjoyable overall, so I'm glad I read it. Bishop has a verrrry dirty mouth, and he's not afraid to use it; Brooke sure enjoyed it. She was somewhat of a pushover, always trying to make sure others were ok, but that also lent a sort of softer side to her that I wanted to hug. Her heart was bigger than her brain sometimes, but it was always in the right spot. I really enjoyed this one. The one thing that left me hanging was that the end of the book felt too short. Too quick. I would have loved to have seen a little more from it, but I can walk away knowing I will see them in the books to follow, so I am very definitely looking forward to this series and the stories to come...especially Tacker's.

I'm pretty sure I don't know how to write a short review at this point. Sorry!!

"...no one should touch what's yours."

What a great start to the new Arizona Vengeance series! Bishop was an easy and entertaining sports romance that I devoured. The fake fiance trope is always fun, and Bishop and Brooke's story is no exception. What starts out as a one night stand, snowballs into a fake relationship, until the lines between make believe and reality blur.

Bishop evolves a great deal through the book. He starts as the typical manwhore professional athlete (ugh), but what emerges as he spends more time with Brooke is someone much more sweet and thoughtful. Rest assured though that he still maintains his cocky attitude and is a pure alpha in the bedroom. I really liked Brooke and how loving and career driven she was, but I did wish that she wouldn't have been so naive when it came to her supposed "friends". I think what I liked best about the book though was that there was no unnecessary drama between Bishop and Brooke. All the angst was external and allowed Brooke and Bishop to not get caught up in misunderstandings or miscommunications. They were a united front. Yes, the main drama in the book seemed to just drop into the story, but it was still an entertaining and blood boiling addition. I just wish that there would have been more resolution to that part of the story. The book also ends a little abruptly, but since I know that more books are coming in the series, I wasn't too heartbroken to not see an epilogue.

I'm really excited for all the stories to come from this new cast of characters. There were many personalities introduced in Bishop, from other Vengeance players (seasoned and rookies) to a few people off the ice as well. Honestly, I can't wait to find out more about Tacker's heartbreaking past, but I'm also equally intrigued by GM Christian Rutherford, owner Dominik Carlson, and Bishop's BFF Dax. It looks like it will be a while before I see those stories though (if they do get books) since it appears the next 2 books in the series will feature Erik and Legend. It's going to be a amazing ride!

“No matter what led us to this moment, right now I’m yours.”

If you loved the Carolina Cold Fury, then you will FALL HARD and FAST for the Arizona Vengeance! Bishop is the first book in Sawyer Bennett’s brand new sports romance series, Arizona Vengeance, and this was one HELL of a start the series! Falling for your new coach’s daughter? Not the best move you could make when you’re starting out on a new team as a co-captain. But there is something about Brooke Perron that draws Bishop in and doesn’t want to let go. HE doesn’t want to let go. Fake relationship or not, the sparks, the chemistry, the connection is ALL TOO REAL. This front that they both put up isn’t fooling anyone and pretty soon the truth will come out. Will this “fake relationship” fizzle out when the truth is revealed? Or will it turn into something more once the excuses run out?

I loved it! I loved the characters (primary and secondary). The plot was interesting, entertaining, and swoony. It was fast-paced but didn’t feel rushed. The sex scenes were scorching HOT! I mean, we are talking about a Sawyer Bennett romance here, aren’t we? This was everything I would come to expect from this author and maybe even more! A great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for these boys!
