BOSTON – At the BU David Hemery Invitational last Saturday, Jacob Johns placed 21^st among the 360 competitors in 1 mile run. The America East recognized Johns with the conference's Track Performer of the Week honor after his performance in Boston.  
 
Johns recorded a personal-record time of 4:05.57 in the event. His previous pr was 4:05.88, which he set at the 2016 IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The mark ranks as third best mile time in school history, and the second-best in the conference this season.
 
Johns and the rest of the Black Bears are back at Boston University on the weekend of Feb. 23 to compete in the America East Indoor Championships.
