Cardinals Sign Veteran CB Marcus Williams

The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that they’ve signed veteran CB Marcus Williams to a one-year contract.

According to Darren Wolfson, the Vikings, Dolphins and Bills all showed interest in Williams this offseason.

Williams, 27, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State back in May of 2014. He was waived from the Texans’ practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before later signing on with the Jets.

Williams played out the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million contract before returning to the Jets on a one-year, $2.75-million restricted contract last year. However, the Jets waived him a few months into the season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Texans.

In 2017, Williams appeared in 15 games for the Jets and Texans and recorded 18 tackles, one interception and four pass defenses.
