About this ebook

He’s death for hire…

Some people measure life in hours. Days. Weeks. I measure mine in kills. A covert military mission gone wrong robbed me of my memory and any link to my past. This is my existence now. I execute and survive. Nothing more, nothing less. I was ready to write Isabel Foster’s name in my ledger of unfortunate souls until she uttered the one word that could stop the bullet meant for her. My name.

She knows my face. She knows me. She’s the key to the memories I’m not sure I want back. Now nothing is simple. I still have a job to do, and my soul isn’t worth saving. I’m not the man she thinks I am. I can’t love her. And sparing her life puts us both in the crosshairs.

This book has left me all up in arms. No it isn't a standalone so the story isn't done. Now that's been said it is a really good story that still has many layers unrevealed. He's a killer that for some reason has lost his memories and as the story plays out he is having flash backs. There is a lot going on and of course the nature of the beast is to trust no one. They can't stop moving and yet they continue to grow closer. Great story with a level of mystery and intrigue to spice things up a little. The characters, well it's hard to figure them out because of his memory loss but he is drawn to her. This author does it well and this story is worth a read. There are still plenty of holes by the end of book one so it will be interesting to see where the next book takes us.

Without a doubt, there is a lot of story packed into these pages. The story is interesting - improbable, yes, but interesting and full of suspense. There are a lot of twists and Isabel and Tristan share a past that only one of them can remember. If you're familiar with this author, then you know to expect steamy fun, so that was no surprise here. However, I did have a hard time buying that this pair had as much time for it as they did. Tristan shows little emotion, but I found it hard to believe that Isobel would be so wrapped up in finding him again that she would disregard the fact that they are running for their lives. Granted, the circumstances surrounding this one are all a bit over the top and a little Bourne Identity-ish, so I suppose it just depends on how much suspension of disbelief each reader is willing to exercise. That aside, I did enjoy the fast-pace and will probably check out the next book to see where it goes. It is the beginning of a serial, so expect a cliffhanger ending because things are certainly not tied up in a neat little bow on the last page.

This is a fantastic start to a series, with a flow so smooth and story so good time just flies and before you know it, book one is over. It took me no time at all to be fully immersed in all that is Tristan and Isabel. This is like second chance romance with a pretty huge twist. I feel like the theme to this story is going to be two characters who save each other in different ways. Their connection can overcome anything, it's so powerful, like they are soulmates. Also it's cool to see that in the face of scary, unpredictable situations, Isabel becomes super bada$$. She's resourceful and smart, and I can see that coming into play in future books. On the flipside, we go into this book seeing Tristan's tough side, but she brings out the squishy parts of him, even if just a glimpse. Tons of action, suspense, and adventure are part of this. It's not just a simple little love story, no way. It's ready set go from the very beginning, a fight the whole way. And I LOVE IT. Grabby hands held out for book two, because this was not enough, I want more and I want it now!
