The singer received a roaring applause throughout the night. There was an undeniable passion in the room and it was intoxicating.

The venue for the night was a very intimate room at the O2 ABC which was bursting at the seams for the sold-out show.

Mabel recently opened for Ex-One Direction member Harry Styles - who sent Scots fans crazy by donning a kilt for his performance.

The 22 year-old started her music career in 2015 with her debut single Know Me Better and she knocked it out of the park two years later with Finders Keepers and Fine Line.

She later released her EP Bedroom and a mixtape called Ivy to Roses.

This was the first time Mabel headlined in Glasgow, but Glaswegians were eager to lap up every moment she was on stage. The singer had an amazing energy on stage, and fans loved the electric atmosphere in the crowded venue.

Her cover of Drake's Passionfruit went down a treat with fans as well.  But it was the singer's encore which really got punters going.

Mabel finished the night with a storming performance of Finders Keepers - which was an easy candidate for song of the night. The amazing crowd pleaser sent fans home happy and eager

Mabel shows a massive amount of passion for her fans and her work

The Londoner spoke with The Scottish Sun about her work as she works her way to her first album.

Mabel performed in Glasgow at the O2 ABC for her first performance in the city as a main act.
She shared her thoughts on the city saying: “I played here with Harry Styles but it’s difficult, like it’s all like a model in my head right now. I didn’t really see it.

"I was just kinda here, did a show, left, so it feels like the first time here.

“I’ve been inside mostly. Went for a little walk, everybody’s really nice, love the accent. That’s the impression so far. I think it’s cool! I like it.”

She even shared her advice for eating on the road, saying:

“I had Wagamama’s. See the tour trick is, unless you get recommended somewhere where someone’s like “Oh my god this place is really cool” then you’ve just got to stick to safe ones.”

Mabel opened for Harry Styles last year during his tour, she commented on this saying:

“Very different experience; A. Just playing arenas is just, like, very different for me, something I really wanna do but it was my first experience of just like doing it every night.

“His fans are really amazing, just really encouraging. Just, y’know being a support isn’t very easy obviously because everyones there to see somebody else, so it’s like going out into a room of like 10, 15, 20,000 people every night where only like a handful of them know you.

“It can be really scary but his fans just made it really easy.”

She was even able to perform in her hometown of London on that tour, she said:

“We did perform at the O2 which was amazing. Obviously one of the big ones in London so yeah it was super fun to do it.

“We did it two nights in a row. And then the day after tomorrow I’ve got my own show there.”

Currently Mabel is touring throughout the UK, she showed how passionate she is for her hometown saying:

“Yeah I have the maddest butterflies. It’s like the only place I’m really committed to is London. (laughs) No I’m joking but y’know it’s the love of my life in a way, like I’m single but I’m really in love with my city and like the butterflies I have are CRAZY!

“Every show is special, every show’s different but yeah it’s crazy.”

She also spoke about her current favourite song of hers, she said:

“I have this new song called One Shot that I perform live now. I wanna know what Glasgow thinks about it. Yeah, I really love that song and I have done since I first wrote it.

“It’s been amazing, it’s the first tour I’ve ever done where I’ve got, like, a couple bodies of work out now, obviously there’s a long way to go but I know people like Fine Lines and Finders Keepers which is cool but  the other tracks have been going down really well, y’know?

“Which is really positive, I wasn’t expecting that at all but I have a whole section in the middle that’s like a mixtape from the project I dropped last year called Ivy to Roses and like, everyone knows all the words so yeah. It’s been really sick.”

Mabel also cited her inspirations as artist:

“A lot of like 90’s R’n’B like Destiny’s Child, like the naughties… Like the first Justin Timberlake album was, like, really influential to me. Justified. Lauren Hill obviously.

“I wasn’t a massive NSYNC fan. But, But! I do love Justin. I think that was slightly like, I don’t know, I loved everything my big sister loved.

“It’s weird because I’m born in the late 90’s but I’m obsessed with 90’s music. Whatever she was listening to is what I was listening to so we’ll have to blame her for that. Not showing NSYNC love.”

The Londoner also commented on the reception of her songs, saying:

“People just love Finders Keepers. Which is really cool, we’ve switched it up a bit, I think that’s really important as an artist.

“A; I wanna give people everywhere I go a great show no matter what, even if I’m playing in  bar and nobody knows who I am or I’m doing a headline show. Like, when they leave I want them to be like “That was sick” but I’m very conscious if that.

“My fans they don’t pay to hear the record, they pay because they wanna see something different, y’know? It’s been really fun.”

Finally she commented on her mixtape from last year, Ivy to Roses, saying:

“It was a couple of years of just writing songs, I think what great about mixtapes is it’s essentially just a collection of songs, that’s why what I’ve got out now isn’t an album.

“I’m very purist when it comes to album, they should be cohesive and have a beginning, middle and an end and all the things in between are just as important. I don’t wanna make a 10/12 track album where like six of them are singles and the others are just trying to be singles.

“I think proving to people last year that building a body of work is important. It just got to the point where I was like “I’ve got so many sings now” and I’m gonna write more but I want people to know what I’m doing right now.”

Mabel’s show in Glasgow was packed to the seams with passionate fans for an intimate and amazing gig. Not only was the performance full of energy but there was a special connection between the crowd and the artist.

Mabel is really one to keep an eye on.
