Unexpected Guest

Rate this book
Two couples, fighting for their happily ever after that won’t come without a suspenseful battle of love and protection as a stalker threatens to destroy every good outcome.

Mitchell Riverton and Makayla Gregory are living proof that a second chance is worth going the distance for, but as obstacles threaten their path of reconciliation, they will fight harder than ever to make their way to the altar.

Mitchell’s brother and Chief of Police, Evan Riverton, has been focused on his whirlwind romance with Ginger Monroe. Now, with a child on the way and a wedding of their own in the works, keeping Ginger safe will be anything but a simple task.

The double wedding of the Riverton brothers has the town of Riverton Crossing preparing for the biggest social event it’s seen in years. While the ceremony may be private, the reception is a town street dance open to the public.

Can the Riverton brothers make it to the end of the aisle where their loves await, or will the reception turn from a happy occasion into an unwanted disaster?

Find out if Riverton Crossing can come away unscathed, yet again, when an Unexpected Guest shows up.

I'm a southern girl and hopeless romantic. I'm passionate about writing stories that incorporate southern charm. I grew up on a farm in a small town with a love of sports, dance, and music which will all show up somewhere in my books. When I'm not writing, my husband and I are attending a sporting event, travelling, or working.

What can I tell you about Unexpected Guest without giving away the plot? Not much! This is the third installment in the Riverton Crossing series and you cannot read this book without reading books one and two. Each book has a story that stands alone but there is an inter-connected storyline that travels through the series that if you have not read the previous books, you will be lost in my opinion. At this point in the series we are in the planning stages for Evan and Ginger's wedding as well as Mak and Mitch's wedding. The story will be told from multiple character POV because now Evan has hired Nathan as his deputy and he has a lot on his mind! He's trying to track down Ginger's stalker before the wedding and trying to understand what is going on with the town librarian and her husband. I don't want to give away any more or your reading experience will be ruined. This series is romantic suspense and if that is what you enjoy then you must begin with Unwelcomed Greeting. The books don't end with a cliffhanger, more like a HFN. I received a review copy and this is my freely given opinion.

My favorite one of the series so far. Unwelcome Guest is about each couple which I loved. I will leave this review spoiler free as possible but there were definitely some surprises in this book. The love these couples share is amazing. I cannot wait for the next book. I hope to see more of Nathan, Sam, Cat and Thomas in the next book. I cannot wait for the next book.

I really wish more authors did what the amazingly talented Savannah Maris did with Unexpected Guest! Before I elaborate, I have to get on my soapbox for a minute. This is the third book in the Riverton Crossing series, so YOU MUST READ Unwelcomed Greeting (Book 1), and Unfinished Business (Book 2) BEFOREHAND! Alright, now that I got that out of my system, I'll get on with it. This story was a combination of Mitchell Riverton & Makayla Gregory, and Evan Riverton & Ginger Monroe's journey to their happily ever after at the alter. But first, there's still someone stalking Ginger, and it's put everyone near her in danger. So while Mak & Ginger are trying to find wedding dresses, Evan & Mitch are trying to eliminate said danger. And that's all that I'm coming off of. I love both of these couples, so Ms. Maris giving me this combined story following their individual stories was EPIC! The sexy times were extremely HOT HOT HOT, and those fiery flames of both couples lit the sheets up everywhere in the house! And the cast of secondaries added in more depth, and hopefully Nathan & Sam, not to mention a certain doctor, get their own stories in the very near future! But my favorite part of this series are twists & turns around very corner, and the biggest one, the stalker's identity, came out of left field, which had so many f-bombs dropping it's not even funny! I absolutely CRAVE more of this addictive series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have been waiting for this book since the second Riverton Crossing novel ended. And Savannah Maris didn't disappoint. In fact, I think Unexpected Guest is my favorite of the series so far.

There was a lot happening for both couples as they prepared for their wedding day. It was great seeing how each character and couple reacted to the different challenges they were presented with. There were some sentimental moments along the way too as both Evan and Mitchell faced one of their biggest fears. They shouldn't have worried though because their strong women were by their sides.

It was the threat to Ginger that had everyone spinning their wheels to try and get to the bottom of the mystery before something terrible happened. Ginger's fear was as palpable as Evan's need to protect her. But I also really enjoyed seeing a softer side to the fierce protector.

As with the previous books in the series, there steaminess was there. That added touch of danger that I just love kept me glued to my kindle. And when I learned just who was behind Ginger's woes, my jaw was on the floor. A lot of the loose ends from the previous titles were wrapped up too which was nice. No more guessing who was behind this, that or the other. Which is great because I feel like with the wedding, this chapter of chaos is finally closed for everyone.

This is the third in the series, it can be read by itself, but I would highly recommend that you read the first two books in the series to get the intricacies involved in all the characters. The steaminess is there in spades with both Mitchell and Kayla and Evan and Ginger. There is still mystery, intrigue, hot sex and laughter. The twist in this is awesome and jaw dropping, wait til you read it! The next story has already been developed in this current chapter and I can't wait to read what Ms. Maris has in store for us next. I highly recommend this series and author to anyone.

I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

I actually liked the first two in this series better. There are parts I liked, like when we find out who's stalking Ginger, that was kinda shocking. The rest of it seemed rushed to me. I like the characters and storyline .

I like that this book is combined, having both of the couples covered in one book is awesome since their stories interconnect so much with the wedding quickly approaching. There is still the problem of Ginger's stalker. Evan has convinced a few of his friends to move into town not only to help with the stalker but to finish off the things going on in town. Still loads of truths to unravel and we see the beginning of something for Nathan. I love this author's style and while these are not standalone reads I am enjoying how the books are playing out. This is an awesome series I highly recommend.

Mitchell Riverton, and his brother Evan are battling it out to find their happily ever after with their respective female mates, Makayla and Ginger. There is someone stalking Ginger, and will they be able to find out who it is and stop him/her in time?

So, this book picks up exactly where the second one left off. Let me tell you this book did not disappoint. The couples still have their sizzling sexual chemistry. I swear a few scenes almost melted my poor little iPad. I was ready for a cigarette after reading a couple of the steamy scenes.

I really enjoyed reading about the fallout from the previous two books. There were a couple of plot twists that had me clutching my pearls. I honestly did not see that one twist coming, and it is amazing. If you have read the first two books, you should read this one. It was that amazing.

Savannah Maris turned my world upside down with the way she intertwined the primary characters and secondary characters together. The story flowed like a good bourbon, and will stay with you after you finish it.

I don’t know how Savannah does it! I didn’t think this could be better then the first two, but I love FLOVE this story. It has the right amount of sweet and sexy, ormally I am not a fan of the POV changing and in this story there is four POV, so it surprised when I didn’t even notice the change! I take me hat off to you Savannah, this was an amazing story. You get to see it from Mak and Mitchell’s side without missing anything from Ginger and Evan’s.

They are busy with all kinds of plans for the Ranch and the baby and weddings! You won’t see the plot twists coming, and you won’t be able to flip the pages fast enough.

If you thought the first two books in this series were HOT, just wait until you get your hands on this one. Savannah sucked me in and I immediately fell in love with the characters of this series. I feel like I am in the story watching their every move. The book is so captivating!!!The men of Riverton Crossing know how to treat a lady and make her feel like a special and loved. The women like to push the men’s buttons, just a little, to get a rise out of them. I highly recommend this book and series. What are you waiting for? Go buy it, you will fall in love all over again!!!

Up to this point I have read all of the Riverton Crossing novels and I just can't get enough. All the elements that I have come to expect from this author were there, Alpha males, demure women, mystery and suspense. However, this one came with some emotional parts as well. More than once I caught myself tearing up and I was pleasantly surprised at this evolution in this series. The emotional edge in this story took what I had expected from this author and added an new layer that made me want to continue reading even more. I was playing the "who done it" game with myself through the whole book just like I did with the other two, but this one has an unexpected twist at the end. Love love love it! Can't wait to read #4

A great conclusions to Evan and Ginger and Mitchell and Makayla's story. While planning a double wedding Evan is still trying to find Ginger's stalker. Loved the storyline and the characters. I finally got to read when Nathan and Vanessa met. Each series is just as addicting as the last. Love how these guys are protective Alphas. This was an emotional romance with suspense. Really loved the two bonus chapters it was very hot. I don't want this series to end. Can't wait to read Thomas and Cat's story. Also can't wait for Sam's story to come out.

I won this book as an arc and this is my honest opinion... this series only gets better and better with each book. Technically it can be read as a stand-alone but with the different characters and point of views it would probably be helpful to read them in order, plus you’ll really want to read the others because they are just as amazing. This book picks up where we last left off with the characters preparing for a wedding. Throw in a little drama and a lot of steamy parts and it has a little bit of everything in it for everyone. So as not to spoil a thing I won’t say too much but the story line flows so well and prepares you for the next books in the series.
