CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Cleveland woman forced her way into her neighbor’s apartment and repeatedly struck the woman in the head with a pot during a fight over a parking space, police reports say.

Taneesha N. Davis, 24, is charged with aggravated burglary in the Saturday incident on East 114th Street near Corlett Avenue, according to court records.

Davis waived her right to a preliminary hearing during her arraignment Monday in Cleveland Municipal Court. The case was bound over to a Cuyahoga County grand jury.

She remains in custody at the Cuyahoga County Jail on $50,000 bond, court records say.

The 19-year-old neighbor needed stitches on her forehead for lacerations she suffered in the assault. The neighbor also told police officers that the attack caused her to go in and out of consciousness, according to police reports.

Davis and her neighbor had been arguing about a parking space over the last few months. On Saturday, Davis and her friend banged on the neighbor’s door about 3 p.m. and demanded that the neighbor move her car, police reports say.

The neighbor answered the door and told Davis to stop knocking so loudly. The two argued, and Davis pushed her way into the apartment.

Davis and the neighbor fought in the kitchen. Davis grabbed a pot from the stove and struck the neighbor five times over the head, police reports say.

Davis and her friend ran from the home after the assault. The neighbor’s sister, who was also in the home at the time, called 911.

An ambulance took the neighbor to University Hospitals to be treated for the lacerations on her forehead and swelling on her face.

Cleveland police officers arrested Davis at her own apartment. An ambulance took her to University Hospitals to be treated for an ear injury before she was taken to the Cuyahoga County Jail, police reports say.
