“What matters most is how you walk through the fire.” ~ Charles Bukowski

No longer simmering and crackling beyond our realm, the fire smoldering in the distance roars to life. The blaze has the capacity to scorch and destroy everything and everyone in its path.

All that I’ve known and believed was obliterated the moment Madeline spoke a truth I’d never suspected. With one sentence, one plea, my life has taken an uncharted turn. Through the smoke and soot, I search for answers.

A man, an outfit, and my brothers-in-arms have been my solace, my calling, and my reason to live. Now that I know there’s more, what will the future hold?

The Ivanov bratva wants Chicago. I want what they possess. With the Sparrow world at war, and Madeline’s declaration, she and I are surrounded, trapped by the inferno.

What will remain when the flames cease and we are left surveying the ashes?

From New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a brand-new dark romance, FLAME, set in the dangerous world of Sparrow Webs. You do not need to read the Web of Sin or Tangled Web trilogy to get caught up in this new and intriguing saga, Web of Desire.

FLAME is book two of the WEB OF DESIRE trilogy that began in SPARK and concludes in ASHES.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Aleatha did it again with this book. Patrick's story is quickly becoming my favorite story from this cast of characters. This book completely captured my attention and I couldn't put this book down today.

The story is picked up right where it was left off in book #1. It completely delivered on what I was expecting. The readers received some answers from book #1 but we have some new ones to be answered in book #3. The world that Aleatha has created is amazing. The web that she weaved had to be so time consuming. The stories that Aleatha creates never disappoints and everyone who has read book#1 will not be disappointed in how Patrick's story has progressed.

Patrick is so book-worthy. He's smart, alpha, and a dirty talker. He is everything you want in a man. The story of Madeline is amazingly sad and street savy. She's had a hard life but I am enjoying reading about finding her way.

Title: ➳ ❤-Flame
Series ➳ Web of Desire 2#
Author: ➳ Aleatha Romig
Publication:, February 25th 2020

💖💖💖💖💖

ღ This amazing read, picks up right where Spark’s left us with that crazy good cliffhanger… Yeah I cant believe I just said that , I enjoyed having been left with major cliffhanger

Madeline is gambling once again with life, will Madeline find the winning hand in the end? Or will her hand turn to Ashes? Will the secrets that are revealed destroy them all?

If the 1st book left you longing for more, imagine how you going to feel after reading the 2nd installment…

I must say that Flame definitely answered some my questions, but at the same time it just add more questions to my crazy mind

Let just say that you’ll understand what happen to Madeline back when she left Patrick. Let also say her story will squeeze your heart to the point of pain & leave at that!
💕 Once again I am left speechless by Aletha Romig & her damn cliffhanger…but no worries the mysteries & secrets continue to be unraveled- in Ashes 💕

Books in Web of Desire trilogy should be read in order:

Book 1: Spark- Published January 13th 2020
Book 2: Flame- - Published February 25th 2020💕
Book 3: Ashes - Expected Publication April 7th 2020

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion & my honest review 💕 + Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.

Flame is an apt title for Book 2 in Aleatha Romig's Web of Desire Trilogy. This book is on fire from the first page to the last! It's filled with tension, twists, turns and edge-of-your-seat-non-stop-action that will leave your mind reeling. As with all of Ms. Romig's books, reading was effortless with a story that seamlessly took the reader from the present to the past and back to the present without skipping a beat. The characters come alive as you read, pulling you into the story, the tension growing page by page until the conclusion, leaving you wanting, desperate for more. I LOVED every word, every sentence, every paragraph, every chapter of this book! I can't wait for what is sure to be an EPIC conclusion in Ashes, Book 3. This series is your MUST-READ for 2020!

-In the short time I'd spent back with Patrick, I'd remembered what it was like to be loved for simply being me. He'd tended the spark that had nearly extinguished and brought to life a flame.

Patrick Kelly lives in Chicago and is a powerful man at the top of the Sparrow outfit. He lives a life full of danger where trust and loyalty are a must. His job consumed him until a woman from his past turned up out of the blue. Madeline disappeared seventeen years ago, and now she’s back, and just landed a bombshell on him that rocked his world. He wants to protect her and keep her safe, but he’s also confused, and needs answers. With the Sparrow world at war he isn’t sure if he can trust her.

Madeline was homeless and living on the streets at the age of fifteen. For so many years her life has been about survival. She’s been at the mercy of a man who took pleasure out of exposing her greatest vulnerabilities. Now her entire world hangs in the balance based on the results of a high stakes poker tournament. She’s desperate and out of options when the boy from her past shows up in her life again. Patrick is all man now, and the unbreakable connection they always shared is still strong as ever. He makes her feel again, and wonder what the future holds. Will they finally get their happily ever after?

-The feelings were there, bombarding my body and soul and radiating through me.

-I want you back, Maddie- all of you.

-"I want every piece of you."

-I want to prove you're mine.

Flame (Web of Desire #2) by Aleatha Romig is a fantastic book set in the dangerous world of the Sparrows. It is one thrilling, wild ride full of love, passion, desire, intrigue, and suspense. I loved this story and can’t wait for the conclusion to Patrick and Madeline’s story in book 3, Ashes!

5 “Shocking” Stars

The continuation of Patrick and Madeline‘s story was a wild and emotional ride. Aleatha Romig not only Aleatha’d me but she took me to places I was not prepared for and she thoroughly messed with my psyche. But......I Loved Every Minute of the Ride!!!

With the cliffhanger in book one, I wasn’t sure what tone the story would take in book 2. Needless to say it was a roller coaster ride of emotions. Shock, Confusion, Disbelief and Anger all front and center but there was also an underlying Love that was set many years ago that still pulled Patrick and Madeline together. A love that never really faded but with discovering secrets and lies of the past, would that love break Patrick and Madeline apart or strengthen the love they never forgot?

The turmoil in Chicago is escalating and Sterling Sparrow has multiple fires to deal with besides the Patrick and Madeline revelation. But as Patrick is in the inner circle of The Sparrow Organization, he has all the means to execute his rescue plan. There is nothing better than a determined man fueled by love and passion.

I will say that Madeline’s disappearance and past was hard to digest. I wasn’t prepared and it really caused me much anxiety. The author was graphic enough in the telling that it stirred in me a deep compassion for Maddie. I came to admire her as a heroic woman for surviving her horrific and brutal past.

This second book read fast. It was full of twists and turns, gut wrenching emotional angst, and a huge secret that unfolded in the end. Needless to say, the next book can not get here soon enough. Patrick and Madeline’s story has been exceptional so far and I know the next book will knock my socks off with that revelation at the end!!

Explosive, anxious and intrigue these are all the feelings I was experiencing while I was reading the second part of this amazing trilogy. Flame is the second book of Web of Desire and I have to say it was intense in a very good way.. at all times I felt like something was going to happen so I was completely hooked in my chair waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Flame, the continuation of Web of Desire. Everything we wanted to know and learn about Patrick and Madeline is finally coming out in Flame, so many questions still in the air but so far this book was epic, we got so many answers that we were dying to know. We got also to understand why Maddie is living the life the way she is living and why she did what she did in her past.

What I didn't expect was to cry this much, after learning Madeline's past and circumstances I really was angry for her, I felt impotent and make me sad how life and people played a really bad trick to her.. defenseless, naive anything that comes to your mind Maddie did what she did for love and still she is doing everything for love.

So many great things to say about the main characters and all the secondary characters, Patrick is one of the most intense alpha males I've ever read and I love how strong and protective he is whenever Maddie is around. no matter how things seem and how much he wants to hate her and move on, he knows that will never happen, his heart is in the middle and now its time to fix everything that separated them all those years ago.

I'm really enjoying this trilogy so much and I can't wait to finally read the conclusion of this epic story!!!

OMG Aleatha Romig has done it again, this story was amazing!!!! Patrick Kelly & Madeline Kelly/Tate/Miller story continued right where we left off in Spark the Web of Desire series, Patrick just won the poker tournament and Andros is furious with Madeline, and thats where all the twist and turns starts. One thing is undeniable is the sparks & flames these two characters have. I also love seeing all the other characters in The Sparrow family.

So hold on to your seats for the ride Aleatha takes you on with this book it is a edge of your seat, page turner, nail biting, OMG type of book. You never believe Aleatha can out do her last book then BAM...I can't wait to see what journey lays ahead in this next book the only thing I regret is having to wait!!!

I will never get enough of being Aleatha'd!!!

Flame, second installment of the Web of Desire serie started right after the cliffhanger of he first opus. From the first to the last pages, I found myself enthralled by Madeline and Patrick's story. If the first book left me longing for more, Flame definitely answered some questions...and brought out more interrogations....

Back and forth from present to past, the intrigue made me feel for Madeline. Her story squeezed my heart, her strength warmed it.

Flame is tension filled, it fueled the emotions and the action. I absolutely need Ashes, the last installment ASAP!!!

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

Ok Aleatha Romig might have written her "darker" book so far or at least, as far as the heroine's past is concerned!
I don't want to give spoilers so I'll stay vague but let's just say that I had to skim some passages about Maddeline's past as #iamabigsoftie. Or so it seems!

Honestly Maddeline went through so much it's a miracle she is a high functioning adult.
Patrick is great but Maddeline was the star this time!

We delve into her past between present chapters and she's been betrayed by people she should have counted on!
What she lived for years is not far from Hell.

On the one hand I was angry she seemed so accepting and on the other hand, I knew she was manipulated and that a big leverage was used against her.

This trope looks like a race against the clock to save someone. And of course you will have twists and turns and a huge reveal by thee'd of the book!

Fasten your seatbelt and get ready ro be shocked!

After the grandiose reveal at the end of the first part, the plot in the second evolved with a flaming buildup.

There were more pieces of the puzzle, plenty of twists and emotional moments.
Even though some answers were given, more questions emerged.

The revelation in the end had my head spinning!!!

Flame is just amazing! Words can't express how much I'm loving this series. It was gripping and had me on edge. A page-turning, nail-biting suspense that left me hanging after every chapter read.

I enjoyed the writing style with flashbacks and characters telling us what happened to them in a particular phase in their life. And what happened to Madeline was heart-wrenching. I just can't believe what she's gone through to survive. I'm in awe of how strong and determined she was.

As Patrick executes his plan to save the people he cares about and the pieces of the puzzle begin to come together. Then it suddenly shifts into something more. I'm in shock and think NO it can't be possible. I just can't believe how on edge it left me and how much I craved for the final book -- Ashes.

The WEB OF DESIRE Trilogy is Patrick Kelly and Madeline's story, book one left us with a major cliffhanger and this book picks up right where that one left off. There is a reason the series title is called WEB OF DESIRE and it's not only because of the chemistry that Patrick and Madeline have it's because of all of the twists and turns the story takes which is making quite the web, like a spiders web if you will. But at the end who will be caught in it, who will make it out and who will be eaten alive.

Once again I have been Aleatha’d! Once again I am speechless. Once again I am lost and caught up in the words Aleatha pens. I can’t read her words fast enough, I have a hard time waiting on the subsequent books.

One of the things that Aleatha always accomplishes is giving me the unexpected. Leaving me with my mouth hanging open. Well, trust me the tradition continues in Flame.

Patrick, oh Patrick! Surprised! Shocked! Those are the words that describe what he feels at the beginning of this book. Protective! Possessive! Those are the feelings that occur throughout the book. Confused! Disbelief! They are the words that end this book. All I can say is wow!

The secrets, the lies, the battles, and then the truth! And what a truth it is! All I can say is don’t rely on what you think you know, but be prepared for what you don’t know! Come on Ashes! I am ready for you and all the answers!

**FULL REVIEW**

"I crossed my arms over my chest as I contemplated my future. It didn't take a genius to understand that these men wanted a guarantee that I couldn't contact Andros. If they only knew the depth of my hatred for the man, they wouldn't be concerned."

Oh. My. GOSH!!!

The story unfolds further as we dig deeper into the dark world of mob bosses and territory battles...good versus evil...love and hatred...secrets. So many secrets.

I couldn't tear my eyes from the pages, reading well into the wee hours of the night because I just had to know what was going to happen. I wasn't disappointed!

Following Madeline's life, from when she left Patrick to when she found him again...or did he find her? This is a question still to be addressed. How deep does this plan go? When the family is involved, to what lengths are these men willing to go in order to protect what's theirs?

I cannot wait to see how the story finishes...revelations, history, time...a seventeen-year agreement based on a gamble. It's time to cash out...and pay up.

OMG, I legit jumped out of bed after getting to the last page of this section in Patrick and Madeline's story. Aleatha has done it again; she is weaving a story that keeps you wanting more and more. I do advise that you read the other Web Series trilogies before jumping into this one to gain the background and dynamics of the Sparrow team. Patrick is one of the top members of an organization that is running Chicago. This part of Patrick's story gives us even more twists and turns. The story lives up to the title of Flame in every way possible. I can't wait for the last book in this trilogy!

Loving.
The flame is getting hotter--
I can't get enough of this series-it makes my heart beat faster.

Sparks fly and Flames are blazing in Aleatha Romig newest book, Flame in the Web of Desire Series. Tension and tempers are flaring bring raw emotions to each of these characters. Flame takes ahold of your heart and leaves you breathless. One of Aleatha's best. Be prepared for the rollercoaster which will keep you turning the pages and locked in place until the very end.

Going into book two of this trilogy, I had a lot of questions.
What caused Madeline and Patrick's separation years prior?
How did he not know about her condition at the time of that split?
Will the secrets between them destroy what they have rekindled, or will it bring them closer together?

To get those answers, the author did what she does best, feeding the characters and her readers small truths bit by bit. With time, the puzzle about the past slowly comes together.

While book one focused on the poker tournament and the dynamics between the players, this one focused more on the main couple, which I liked. The story alternates from Madeline and Patrick's POV's, but it is Madeline's POV in the past where we really get some of details about the past and what drove them apart. It is truly tragic what she went thru and who played the role in their separation. What I didn't understand was why Madeline wasn't more forthcoming with Patrick, as given what she went thru, I have no doubt he would understand and want retribution. We'll have to see if that ever comes, but my fingers are crossed.

The focus of this story in the present is the search for Ruby, their daughter, who seems to be used as a pawn by multiple players. Given those players and what ultimately goes down, the game has changed, particularly with Madeline and Marion Elliott, one of the poker players I never trusted.

As expected, the author leaves us with another dozy of a cliffhanger that is sure to change everything. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together in the final book, Ashes.

~ 5 Flaming Stars ~

SPEECHLESS!!! I am absolutely speechless after reading Flame by Aleatha Romig.

I never could’ve have guessed the way this story was going to play out. This book was dark, raw, gritty and at times tough to read, all without being overly graphic. I will warn readers that some of the material in this story could cause some triggers or be hard for readers to read.

Flame is the second book in the Web of Desire trilogy by Aleatha. This book was everything I have come to expect from Aleatha, but so much more. This book is NOT a standalone novel. Spark MUST be read before reading this book. YES this book does end in a cliffhanger, just like book 1. This ending was such a shock to me, I couldn’t have pictured it turning that way. No I won’t say any more, but I will say, I am dying for Ashes….I NEED to know how this is going to turn out.

In this story we dive further into the background of Madeline. We see how she lived 17 years ago and what has lead her to where she is now. I don’t want to say any more than that. This book reveals more secrets and lies and answers some questions from book1 but also creates so many more questions that I am hoping are answered in the last book.

As I have said before, but is worth repeating, the more books I read by Aleatha, the more I want to sing her praises. Her books just get better and more twisted as she releases them. She is an AMAZING storyteller. I don’t know where she comes up with these twisted worlds. But please don’t stop writing them!!!!

If you are looking for a book that will keep you intrigued all the way through and that is UNPUTDOWNABLE….then this is the book/trilogy for you to read!! This is another one for my Best Books of 2020 List!!!! Make sure to add this trilogy to your TBR list, you won’t be sorry!!!!

Questions answered. Dots joined.

Now more questions.

Brain exploded into pieces on the back of the number 72 bus!

Unless you are binge reading (we all love a binge read) make sure you know who the movers and shakers are #justsaying

Patrick Kelly, lover of apples. Homeless boy. Fell in love with his Maddie girl. Married her. Lost her. Ex Marine. Sparrow BFF.

Madeline Tate, bearer of an apple tattoo. Homeless girl. Fell in love with Patrick. Married him. Disappeared. Poker player.

Marion Elliott - has a girl’s name. Big shot Texan oil Barron.

Andros Ivanov - his name is like part Greek part Russian. All Bratva. All Villain.

Sterling Sparrow. Enough said. Mason Pierce. Enough said.

Soooooooo. This book it’s explosive. The dots I needed to join became exclamation marks! Aleatha Romig knows how to make a reader sweat. And you never ever know where she’s going to take you but the ride will be white knuckled.

Aleatha has set the bar you guys. As in, by the time I hit the last words, my mind couldn’t hang on.
She’s gifted us with a story that started with a spark and up it went up in flames.
If you haven’t started this trilogy, you are missing out on one dark and delicious story.
Patrick is everything and I mean that in so many ways.

This story doesn't have palms, but it has a whole lot of fire.
description

“Flames so hot that they turn blue
Palms reflecting in your eyes, like an endless summer
That's the way I feel for you
If time stood still, I'd take this moment, make it last forever
Your halo's full of fire
I'm rising up, rising up
My hot love's full of fire.”

Freak – Lana Del Rey

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
This is a dark (I mean it) and immensely twisty read. You don’t need any further information.

Aleatha Romig, say WHAT? What did you serve us with? I’m speechless. From page one to the final sentence of this novel, I was captivated. The author served all the feels. Madeline and Patrick underwent some serious stuff in this instalment. Madeline is a truly strong woman and I can’t wait to see where her story will end. Patrick is cute, too, but we’re woman-centric over here HAHAHAHA. Some secrets were revealed, but I feel like Romig has more where that’s from. This read was a quick and bittersweet ride with me shipping the two leads. In Flame, we had an elevation plot-wise in comparison to book one. I was purely disgusted with some of the situations that characters found themselves in. I don’t know why it felt weird (in a very good way), but having Aleatha word it this graphically made it so much realer. There was no sugar-coating. Things happened. I wouldn’t call it entertaining because of the subject matter, but it was definitely a worthwhile ride that ended with a twisty bang. I’m going to be moving on to book 3 right away. Ashes (Web of Desire #3) is out now, luckily!
I recommend this read to people who haven’t been Aleatha’d because they deserve to witness this wonder, lovers of twisty dark romance and who’d love to read about a reunion between two tortured leading souls with tons of secrets.

ASTOUNDING!!!!! Another amazing series by Aleatha Romig

Words can’t describe how much I am in love with Patrick and this series.

When Spark ended like many people I sat there with my jaw hanging down, hitting the floor. One thing Aleatha does so well though is to keep you in suspense and in this series there is an abundance of moments that will catch you by surprise and just knock your world off its axes.

Flame has everything you would want for a book. The story is gritty and raw at places, however, although the subject matter can be dark and sensitive it is handled in a way that doesn’t put you off the story. I actually found the way certain subjects were covered was done with care and concern.

In Flame we get to know more of the back story of Maddie and Patrick and what lead Maddie to where she was today, having to live with secrets and lies just to survive. We also see a side of Patrick that is commanding as he should be but also extremely caring and protective.

It is not all plain sailing for these two and in true Aleatha fashion there are lots of twists and turns to look out for, lots of surprises and maybe a few moments where you are literally sitting there wondering “what happened there”. You will not be disappointed.

I don’t want to say too much about the story as it would give so much away that would be spoilers and you need to read this series for yourself to know what we are all gushing about.

Flame is the second book in the series and you need to read Spark first to understand the storyline and plot.

I have always loved Aleatha’s books and this series in my opinion is right up there with the best. Aleatha has outdone herself this time.

If you want an author whose books will have you hooked from the beginning or maybe you have not read this author before, well now is the time. Aleatha Romig has the Midas touch when it comes to dark, raw, mysterious, gritty reads. So much so you will not want to miss any of her books.

This book is book #2 of the Trilogy Web of Desire. First book #1 Spark is out now.

Flame was a suspenseful and intensely emotional second installment to the Web of Desire Trilogy. Aleatha Romig gives her readers an explosive story with two fantastic main characters that will leave them breathless and begging for more.

I felt such a myriad of emotions while reading; from rage to sadness to hope, and back to rage again. Romig writes with such an intensity that I couldn’t help but get pulled into the characters’ world and really feel what they were experiencing. Reading about Madeline’s past and what she went through was heartbreaking. This author has such great talent when it comes to creating not only amazing characters but also a complex and intriguing world that you can’t wait to learn more about. In this installment, Romig slowly brings together pieces of the puzzle in a way that had me hanging on to every single word. And I really loved that through all of the chaos surrounding them, the bond between Madeline and Patrick remains unbreakable. These are two people who know the meaning of the word “adversity” and still come out swinging every time. I am so eager to see where the author takes them next, both as a couple and as players in the complex world they live in.

The writing in this book is impeccable as it always is with this author. The plot was fantastic and perfectly paced. There are some questions that I cannot wait to learn the answers to, and we were left with quite an explosive revelation at the end of this book that I am so excited to see play out. This is a truly fantastic story that keeps getting better, and I am really looking forward to the final book.

Finally Flame is here!
The second instalment of the trilogy, Flame start with a bang continues from the suprise ending of book one.

The intensity of every page is astonishing. Aleatha prove again and again of her amazing, intense writing skill that just keep me captured from the first page.

From the first book, Maddie and Patrick's story feels different from the other couple of Aleatha's characters for me. Specially for Maddie, in Flame my heart goes for her. She endure so much a child, a mother, a person shouldnt have been.

The details Aleatha describe of what happened to Maddie that cause her separation with Patrick, is abomination for me. It's...omg I have no words of angry and repulsion to put. But the way Maddie survive, the way she keep strong and alive... That's why women are the strongest species!

A page Turner, Flame is definitly a must read. It's layers intensity keep me on the edge until the very last end of the word. And the ending? Omg that ending! I love it!

Can't wait for the last book!

Holy mother of Mary!! Just when I thought book one left me high and dry in the cliffhanger stakes along comes book two and knocks me clean off my perch!! This book gave me whiplash!!

I shouldn’t really expect anything different from this author... you know the minute you have the first page laid out in front of you you are in for a stormy ride and this book is no exception. The harrowing story of Maddie and the secrets and lies she’s not even privy to come together in this cleverly written plot. So many questions still need answering. Book three is going to be an explosive conclusion!!

Once again, Aleatha leaves us dangling on that cliff’s edge! WOW! What an ending! And what a journey to get there! The Web of Desire series is incredible and I can’t say much more because I do not want to give away anything! I will just say that while you can read this series without having read those that came before it, to me knowing all the characters and their backgrounds has made Patrick’s story that much better! I highly recommend starting from the beginning and working your way here! Believe me you won’t regret it and you’ll get here FAST because you won’t be able to put these books down! Thank you Aleatha for bringing Patrick and Madeline’s story to life, with so many twists, turns and omg moments. You are truly the master. Waiting with baited breath for Ashes to see how everything comes together.
