Yo, I know I’ve been talking about cream blush A LOT this week, but I once unknowingly left the house with blush that looked like two little Raggedy Ann doll circles on my cheeks. I’ve since converted to the Church of Cream Blush because it merges with my foundation and never looks powdery. Amen and hallelujah to makeup that looks like real skin!
In other news, I’m making improv shrimp scampi tonight! It’s Good Friday, which meant seafood for dinner around here, which I’m totally cool with because I was a pascatarian for years, but when I mentioned “no red meat” to El Hub this morning his eyes got wide like we were headed for certain doom.
I googled this skinny version… I don’t know if it’s so skinny anymore because I threw in a bunch of Parmesan and extra butter, but YUM!
Hope you’re having a good night. Got any Netflix recs for me? I want to keep watching season two of Santa Clarita Diet, but I can’t watch it while I’m eating…
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Hi Karen, what are you wearing on your eyes? I love the wet-looking shimmer!

I am a total cream blush convert too! I love that it looks and feels like skin, gives you that dewy-glowing-from-within look, and lasts so long! At least the ones I’ve been using lately do.
I LOVE Kjaer Weis blushes! Sun Touched is beautiful. So are all the others (Abundance is so unique! Embrace and Blossoming are so elegant. The name says it all for Desired Glow. And Lovely is the least scary red I’ve ever tried – it’s great on eyes too, as a wash of color).
(wow, major fangirl moment there)
Have you tried Rituel de Fille? They make great cream blushes too. And highlights! I don’t like the smell, but the product is great.
Have a great weekend, Karen!

I almost never do powder blush! Right now I’m using a Chantecaille kind of serum blush I’m really liking. However, I keep hearing you rave about Kjaer Weis cream blushes so I might need to pick one up,

I just started watching “Requiem” on Netflix and the fashion and hair is crazy good. It’s super creepy though so only if you are into horror. I’ve only watched the first episode so I’m not entirely sure what’s going on. There seems to be a ghost/poltergeist who makes people kill themselves and a missing little girl and but judging from the end of the episode there’s a lot more going on here. Dark family secrets which I’m totally into.

Love the eyeshadow you’re wearing! I’ve given up on blush because I can never get it to look right or blend correctly. I have one spot on my right cheek that blush just doesn’t seem to adhere to, so there’s always a bare stripe in the middle of blush on that cheek. So yeah, I’ve given up on blush.

I adore cream blushes this time of year, they look so natural on my pale skin and are so forgiving on winter dehydrated skin.

Try Mindhunter (how the FBI started profiling serial killers, so well-written), The Sinner (I think that’s Netflix, with Bill Pullman and Jessical Biel…soooo good). I’m just starting Hemlock Grove (on episode 4) so I can’t say if it’s good or not yet…so far so good. It’s directed by Eli Roth and Bill Skarsgard is one of the main characters.
Karen says
Thanks, Nicole! Adding all of these to my list.
Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday. 🙂

Hi Kare,
I like the eye shadow too.
Please let me know what are you wearing.

Hi Noemi,
Sadly it’s an old palette and glitter single from the Victoria Beckham X Estée Lauder collection. The eyeshadows are the brown and gold from the 2016 Eye Palette, and the glitter is Eye Metal in Bitter Clove. You can get a similar look with a satiny golden brown eyeshadow and layering a glitter shadow on top. Look into MAC Soba and MAC DazzleShadow in DazzleStyle.

Hi Karen! I stumbled on this post researching cream blushes. I heard so much about this brand. I wanted to ask if you tried any other products like their lipsticks or glosses. We’re about the same skin tone so I always check on your recommendations. Right now I’m using the miracle balm from Bobbi Brown’s Jones Road line. My skin is so dry. It’s my new must have!
