BASEBALL reporter Kelsey Wingert was hospitalised with a fractured eye socket after being struck by a foul ball.
The horrifying incident occurred on Friday night during Atlanta Braves' defeat to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Wingert was standing in the camera well near the Braves dugout while preparing her match report.
Sam Freeman was pitching and Odubel Herrera was hitting as the incident happened during the seventh inning.
A foul ball flew out of control, before hitting the railing of the dugout and striking the sideline reporter in the face.
After applying a bag of ice to the injury, she was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a fractured eye socket.
