"What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?"

Forget.

I need to forget. I need an escape.

Only one person isn't falling for my reputation as the NHL's Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend's house. She didn't want to hear my reason — she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy— and the perfect escape.

She's everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.

And I do, making this summer the best off-season I've ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don't expect is to get her pregnant.

And what I definitely don't expect is having to fight for her affection.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

Hayden Holmes. You won my heart. I knew you would. Before I started this series, I was asked, out of the Three Blind Dates, who would I choose? The Suit, The Rebel, or The Jock. Not knowing any of them before reading the story, of course, I chose The Jock. He didn’t win. I wasn’t disappointed. I wasn’t upset with how that story ended, I think it was perfect. And now I finally got my Jock’s story. And again, Meghan Quinn you are a Fricken Rockstar Author. Your writing is flawless to me.

I knew I’d love Hayden’s story, I had no doubts. What I didn’t anticipate was what his story would entail. A professional NHL star. We not only had glimpses of him in Three Blind Dates but we got some of him in Back in the Game. He’s sexy, he’s complete sports celebrity worthy. He’s not a guy that plays woman, he rather keeps to himself. He's seems to be about heart, and damn is he ever so very patient. Oh...And after having a horrible end to his rookie year, he wants time to himself. What he doesn’t expect to find is his forever and a little bit more.

Adalyn, we were gifted her as one of the best friends in My Best Friend’s Ex. I loved her then and I begged for her story. And Amen, I got it and I loved it. In this story, she drove me crazy, yet I couldn't get enough of her. Placing myself in her position, I can see myself doing some of the same things she did to preserve her heart, so I am not going to say anything bad about her. In the end she did the right thing. She is spunky, she is fun, she is kind, she is faithful, and she is so very beautiful. And did I forget to say, she doesn't fall in love, she would rather have fun than to have her heart get broken. So when she finds herself falling for a guy visiting town, will she have fun with him, give him her heart, or will she walk away and break his heart.

Hayden & Adalyn find themselves in a predicament. A rather predictable one from the title of this book. What we don't know, is how this plays out, what happens and how, and will these two people enamored with love find their happiness? Don't forget the hurt, the happiness, the sadness, the brokenness, and the towers of love this story holds.

When you've waited your whole life to find someone that captures your attention, your heart, your whole being, how far will you go to keep it. How patient will you be to hold on to it?

In the end, if you know me at all, when I love, I love with everything, and dammit Meghan Quinn, I really want more Hayden & Adalyn. These two make love so believable

So if you take anything from this review at all, Take this:
Read this series. It is so amazingly good. This book can be read as a standalone but I encourage you to enjoy the whole series as it is all tied together. But not necessary to enjoy. Make sure to grab this one upon release!!

Hayden Holmes is a character I was dying to read about. He did not disappoint! Unfortunately, this book had something I hate in it and I really struggled with the last half. I loved the beginning and would love to be able to rate it higher, but I just can’t. Meghan Quinn is an amazing writer and her stories always make me laugh. This story had some giggles, but a little more of a serious one.

We meet Hayden Holmes in ‘Three Blind Dates’, but this can be read as a stand-alone. In fact, some of the book takes place before ‘Three Blind Dates’ and that part of the book was my favorite. Hayden is a successful hockey player taking a break when he meets Adalyn. Hayden is an amazing hero. He is seriously a great guy. And when he finds himself smitten with Adalyn, he’s all in. And she feels the same. Everything is going perfect and I’m happy as a clam.
I know one thing for sure, he's ruining me for all other men. Because I'm pretty sure he's the exception.

Then Adalyn gets pregnant. At the same time Hayden gets traded across country. It’s a lot for any couple to handle, but of course this heroine thinks it’s best . It’s a topic that really works me up. I ended up disliking her for most of the book, because of that, and a way she treated another male friend that was obviously into her. It’s so hard for me to love a book when I dislike one of the main characters. Honestly, it’s a good thing I loved Hayden so much or this would have been rated even lower.

Obviously, this is just my opinion. As I said earlier, this is a huge peeve for me personally. Most of my friends loved this book, so it could just be me. I do love the other books in this series and Hayden is amazing so read at your own risk! ;)

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

Her voice is meek with a hint of desperation, like she’s been waiting all her life for this one kiss, for my lips to be pressed against hers. And for one of the first times in my life, I’m scared. I’m scared of what this kiss might do to me, of how it will change me as a man, because Adalyn isn’t just any girl. She could be THE girl for any lucky son of a bitch. No doubt in my mind she’s someone you only come across once in a lifetime, and fuck if I’m not nervous to take the next step, to see if my gut reaction is right, that this girl is my game changer.

Ever since ”Three Blind Dates”, I’ve been ANXIOUS to get my hands on Hayden’s book! Most readers were in love with Beck, "the rebel" from ”Two Wedding Crashers”, but I’ve always been a goner for a hot hockey player!! I was so crazy about him that I couldn’t see the lack of chemistry between him and Noely in book one. However, I knew this man was something truly special and I think I might love his story the most out of this truly amazing series! Get ready for some gut-wrenching angst and make sure you have a box of Kleenex handy because I guarantee you, tears will be shed. This is by far the most angsty and heartfelt story in this trio of amazing books!

The story takes place a little before the timeline in ”Three Blind Dates”. Hayden is currently playing for the Philadelphia Brawler's who just lost their shot at the Stanley Cup playoffs. Feeling bummed and needing some time to himself, he decides to make a trip back to his old hometown of Binghamton, where he catches up with his old buddy from high school, Racer. Racer is still one of my top favorite heroes created by Meghan Quinn and he's as funny as ever in this story. While at Racer’s house for a “welcome home” party, Hayden runs into Adalyn and is instantly knocked off his ass. We met Adalyn in My Best Friend’s Ex”, she is Emma’s close friend from nursing school. Adalyn and Racer became really good friends and he feels overly protective of her, and so he warns Hayden to stay away from her. But his warning only ignites Hayden’s interest that much more.

Soon enough Hayden and Adalyn start secretly spending time together since they don’t want to deal with Racer’s wrath. It’s a slow and torturous burn between them as Hayden is the one who delays anything sexual happening between them. He's really crazy about Adalyn and wants to take things slow so that whatever is building between them will last a lifetime.

Adalyn is the problem in this coupling. One thing about Meghan Quinn’s heroines, you either LOVE them or HATE them, and I was leaning towards a strong dislike to hatred for Adalyn. She’s never really had a relationship with a man because she hasn’t stayed with one long enough to see how things could work out. It was clear from day one that Hayden wasn’t like any of the other guys she’s been with. Her fears were completely baseless.

It took an eternity before they became intimate but holy hell was it sure worth the wait!! Just when things seem to be going perfectly for them, the couple is torn apart and I blame Adalyn for all of it. After she finds out that she’s pregnant I end up disliking her, even more, when she decides to keep the news from Hayden.

There’s a tremendous amount of angst and drama when Adalyn’s close friend, Logan, is added to the mix. Logan is always there to support Adalyn and from day one, Hayden has despised him. Will another man and thousands of miles between them, doom Hayden and Adalyn’s relationship forever?

This book was INCREDIBLE in my opinion. I loved the plot, the steam, and most of all I fell head over heels more in love with Hayden. He made this book a “Five Star” read for me. Even though I don’t think Adalyn was good enough for him and I wanted to throw my iPad against the wall because of her, I couldn’t help but be consumed by this book!

Here are my overall ratings

Hero: 5+++++
Heroine: 3
Plot: 5
Angst: 5
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

Reading this series, I'm not ashamed to say that I was eagerly anticipating the story of Hayden Holmes. He was just such a sweetheart in Three Blind Dates and although he was obviously not a match for Noely, I was super interested in finding out who would own his heart. I'm happy to report that not only was the woman who owned him worthy, but I fell in love with her almost as hard as I did with him. At least for the first 40% of the book. Between the laughs and swoons, I was so in love with this story.

Hayden was EVERYTHING!! Loved him so hard. From beginning to end, this character was everything I look for in a book. He was kind, generous, considerate, compassionate, understanding, oh so sexy, and he OWNED me as much as Adalyn owned him. Getting the chance to see him and RACER was a surprising treat and ooooh Tucker!

So why, if I loved this story so much, did it not get all the stars? My reasons have to go into a spoiler.

One Baby Daddy was full of laughs, love, and endearing moments. Meghan Quinn gave me a new man to add to my book boyfriend bank. She keeps this up and I won't have enough hours to dedicate to all of these delicious hunks!

I was so excited to read this book, cause I've loved Hayden since his first appearance in Three Blind Dates.

Hayden is a professional hockey player and goes back to his home town during his off season. There he meets Adalyn. They hit it off instantly and I was rooting for them at the beginning. I loved their relationship and their banter. Hayden is one of my favorite H's of all time. He's so loyal, sexy, patient and a true gentleman. He treats Adalyn with so much respect and tenderness, my heart melted. I wish I could find a guy just like him.

I have to say Adalyn in the end kinda ruined this book for me. I really liked her up until 50%. Then she gave up on Hayden cause he got traded and basically didn't want to try and make their relationship work, even when Hayden was 100% in. She didn't want to know anything about him and wanted to hide her pregnancy from him. That is not ok, specially when Hayden's always been a gentleman and a good guy. I just couldn't understand Adalyn's hesitation and how she hurt Hayden. Also her relationship with Logan was a big no no for me. She frustrated me and in the end I just feel she didn’t deserve Hayden.

Overall this book was okay for me. I LOVED Hayden so much and I have to say he's the one that saved this book for me.

This is the bachelor everyone has been waiting for, hunky hockey player, Hayden Holmes!

Coming off an abrupt end to his season, he wants nothing more than to forget about the dramatic season-ending game and get lost. So he returns to his hometown, Binghamton, New York for some relaxation, never expecting to meet a fiery yet funny nurse who takes his breath away.

They spend the summer getting to know each other with the expectation that when summer is over, he will be heading back to Philadelphia and even with Hayden's reassurance that they will still be together, Adalyn has her doubts.

And she was right, because with one life-alternating phone call, a massive bump in the road is firmly planted in front of them--and I'm not talking about a baby bump.

Hayden if left trying to fight for his relationship but during the process, he never knew he was going to get Adalyn pregnant, and he sure as hell didn't expect to have to fight for her affection either.

Secret baby sports romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 😠😘🤓🥰
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Hayden - He is a rookie in the NHL with the Philadelphia Brawlers, who got in a fight and was sent to the penalty box right before his team lost the playoff game which ended their season. He is not in a good mood, but never really expected to win the Stanley Cup in his rookie season. Especially after his father calls him and is disappointed in him for his actions. He just wants to forget it all, so heads off to his hometown for the off season.

The heroine: Adalyn - She is a nurse who attends a party at the home of Hayden’s best friend Racer. She has a great personality and loves to have fun. Her friend Emma is together with a guy named Tucker who really cares for Emma. Adalyn thinks she wants something like that someday. She is still struggling to become a good nurse after college and get used to the fact that some patients can’t be saved.

The Story: Hayden appreciates the fact that his dad worked hard to help him get where he is in the NHL. Though he sort of resents the fact that his dad still treats him like a kid and always is there to go over and over everything he does wrong. Though his lectures are given out of love. So Hayden decides to stay at the home of an old teacher that offered up his place.

Hayden and Adalyn hit it off right away despite the fact that Racer told Hayden she was off limits. They start to date and it isn’t long before the story gets pretty steamy. I liked Hayden, he was a genuinely nice guy and Adalyn was a great girl, it was all a bit vanilla at the start with everyone being so nice and the two of them going on nice romantic dates. I don’t know but I like the surprise pregnancy trope to be the result of a one night stand not so much the result of a pair dating. It just makes it a bit more interesting.

I have to admit, I didn’t like how stupid Adalyn was to forget to take her birth control pills, not one, but six days in a row. Also the fact that she realizes it the next day, but doesn’t even get the morning after pill even though she is working as a nurse in a hospital where it is probably readily available. Though I must say the book got much better when some conflict was introduced.

This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration, though there are some text message sequences that are done in duet narration. It was narrated by Aiden Snow and C.J. Bloom. Aiden is one of my favorite narrators, with a deep smoky voice that hits all my buttons. He is great at imbibing his narration with plenty of emotion and passion. C.J. Bloom is a terrific narrator though she has a bit of an annoying voice, to my ears anyway. It isn’t too bad though.

I have feelings about this book and they are not good ones.

description

I am SO bummed I didn't love this one.

Let me tell you about my relationship with Meghan Quinn. First off, I read Three Blind Dates, I don't know how I discovered it, probably everyone was talking about it, so sure, okay yes please. I LOVED it. Like hardcore, hilarious, sexy, adorable, loved it. Then the second one came out and I was kind of scared because no way it could compare! I convinced myself that I must have been in a really good mood when I read the first one, I had rose coloured glasses on or something.. I wanted to make sure I went into Two Wedding Crashers with medium to low expectations.. and I was blown away. Right from the first page, it was like being with an old friend, I clicked with her writing immediately. I was laughing so hard I was crying. Then I actually was crying because it was such an emotional read. I adored those characters and their chemistry was off the charts. I couldn't shut up about how much I enjoyed that book.

description

Needless to say I was ready for this one. Champing at the bit. I saw a few reviews from people who got ARCs and I was so jealous. While I was waiting, I decided to check out The Virgin Romance Novelist and I fucking hated it. Like gobsmacked it was the same author. Floored that other people enjoyed it – I hated that I didn’t like it, I hate when I don’t like books. I am not a hate reader and I don’t enjoy reading something I don’t like but I forced myself to finish, hoping it would get better. It didn’t.

I didn’t hold that against MQ though because it was an earlier book and who the hell am I to judge. I love this series, that’s enough. So I just chalked that one up to not my jam and waited not so patiently for this one. I even had a reminder in my phone for today, which I almost never do for books.

Then yesterday, I was on amazon, obsessively checking if I could preorder it and lo and behold, it wasn’t just there and preorder-able, it was live! I couldn’t believe it. Snatched it up immediately, told my partner to eat a frozen pizza for dinner and to leave me alone. I settled in with a drink on the couch and prepared to have my mind blown.

description

Unfortunately, this book didn’t grab me immediately. I told myself to be patient, it would get there... but it never did. I kept my expectations high, sure, but it wasn't until about halfway that I had to admit to myself that I was simply not enjoying this one anywhere near as much as the previous two. And I was freaking bummed.

Hayden was my least favourite from the first book, but I figured I would love him in his own book. And I did like him, eventually, but this just did not have the same pizzazz as the first two books. It was not laugh out loud hilarious. I did not feel the chemistry or tension between the characters. Obviously given the title and synopsis, I kept waiting for her to get pregnant, but that doesn’t happen until way later than I thought it would. And then they have this big fight that makes absolutely no sense and honestly seemed like two different characters. It seemed so out of place and just odd. I was really disappointed. It definitely seemed over the top and unnecessarily angsty.

description

Adalyn. I never connected to her. Then how she acts when she finds out she’s pregnant, I just couldn’t understand that at all. But I could have ignored that, could have moved on because I’ve never been pregnant, what the flip do I know, maybe being irrational is totally normal. What I couldn’t handle was how stupid and naïve she was .

description

Also, this book is told kind of in time with the first one. When we met Hayden in the first book and he told that story about the girl he dated back home, she sounded awful and he sounded adorable. But in this one, I was like how the fuck are you going on a date right now? Multiple dates? I didn’t understand that at all. I’m a bit slow on the uptake though, I should have realised that was going to happen based on him being traded and whatnot (should have realised he was going to be traded, face palm moment).

I think what really ruined this book for me was Adalyn. Her attitude and the way she treated Hayden was so deplorable. Obviously we all know they are going to get their HEA, this is a romance after all, we know what we are reading, right? But the way it happened just didn’t feel right, the conflict felt contrived and ugh. She never really apologises or grovels, and he certainly wasn't in the wrong, but she punished him as if he was! The writing didn’t flow as well as the previous books, I didn’t love the characters, the fantastic inner dialogue and witty banter between the characters was missing.. some of the things that came out of Hayden’s mouth just didn’t feel realistic to me. I miss Beck. I want to go re-read his book.

Overall, I don’t understand why MQ went the way she did with this one. I expected the long distance to be attempted and something happen there, but instead, it was a big ol mess and the conflict didn’t make any sense. I didn’t like how wishy washy Adalyn was, how clueless she was with Logan, I don’t believe she led him on exactly but she certainly didn’t give him a clear idea of where he stood. Ugh. I am really so very bummed that I didn’t love this one. I don’t understand why or how it happened, maybe my expectations were too high. I was 100% certain I would love this book, so maybe that's why I'm so bummed.

description

I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 (like her other book I legit hated) because there were some good parts – Hayden was mostly a great character, there was a teensy bit of tension and when they actually do get to the bedroom scenes, there is definitely some chemistry. I just didn’t feel it all the time, like with Beck and Rylee. I liked all the side characters (except for Logan). I generally enjoy MQ’s writing. There were a few funny lines. I’m chalking this one up to too high expectations and not loving the heroine.

I hated one of MQ’s books, loved two, disliked this one. I am nervous about reading her other ones, but I do want to read Calder’s book, and Tucker’s too. But I’m scared. I don’t know. I have no idea what it takes to write a book, props to all the authors including MQ. I hate shitting on books, and I’m sorry if it comes across that way, I really don’t mean to. I just believe in being honest, and we can’t all love every single book we read.

Hayden has STOLEN my heart. Gah! Meghan writes the BEST heroes. I can't seem to get enough of them! They all have heart and know what they want making them 100% irresistible! And the inclusion of some of my other FAVORITE male leads in her previous novels? So. Freaking. Good. I loved this book. I read it in ONE sitting from start to finish. I fell head over heels in love, and cannot stop THINKING about this amazing male lead. Friends, you DON'T want to miss out on Hayden's book. He is absolutely swoon worthy and his female counterpart? Just as superbly written as he is. Man. I am trying not to gush but this book delivered in so many ways.

So, what will you get when you dive into One Baby Daddy? A captivating love story with a bit of slow burn. The hero is a pro hockey player who, upon returning to the town of Binghampton, meets the one woman he KNOWS is going to change his heart. Is it love at first sight? Maybe. But he is going to take his time and make sure that everything goes perfectly. Unfortunately, forgetting ones birth control can put a damper on things... And some unsaid words and feelings will change these two in more ways than one.

Readers, you NEED to read Hayden and Adalyn's powerful love story! I loved every single second of it and want to immediately dive right back in the series from the beginning so I can experience it all over again. These characters are everything one hopes to read about in a romance novel and have the best personalities around. Obviously, I very highly recommend this book as well as the others in the series.

Haven't read the series yet? I suggest starting from the beginning even though each book features a different couple. I think you will have a better understanding as to how the series came about if you do so. Plus, there are a few crossovers that you don't want to miss out on and you will if they are read out of order.

3.5 All For Hayden Stars
* * * 1/2
We met Hayden in Three Blind Dates. From the first moment, he was special and I knew Meghan Quinn would write a doozy of a book for him. This was a man who had class, determination and old school charm.

Well, those old school ways get tested time and time again when you are flying down the ice working to capture the Stanley Cup.
Hayden gets smacked one too many times by another player and ends up throwing down and fighting him on the ice. This causes him going to the penalty box and the time off the ice was not the greatest for the team. They do not advance to the next level and the season is over. To add insult to injury, a smart ass reporter won't leave Hayden alone causing words to be exchanged on camera. A truly lousy way to end the season.

Instead of going back to his empty Philadelphia apartment or to his family's home... not wanting to hear his dad lecture him, he decides to go to Binghamton where he did college. There his best friend Racer has always been there for him. He makes his arrangements and gets on the road.

Racer promised a gathering and when Hayden arrives he looks for his old friends...Racer laughs and says he meant he would have his friends over...Hayden laughs and settles in by going to the kitchen for a beer. There he crosses paths with a woman named Adalyn. She is quick witted and he likes that she isn't treating him special like all the women he sees on the hockey circuit. They seem to have a couple of moments and then Racer steps in and tells the both of them they are off limits ... no mixing...

Hayden is curious... and watches to see if this Adalyn is attached to Racer... and no, it is more like a looking out for her thing. It seems Adalyn not too long ago got her heart a bit smashed ... and Racer was the one whose shoulder she cried on. He just doesn't want her hurt again.

Hayden gets it but this Adalyn is not like anyone he has met... she is sarcastic and can be blunt but funny. He wishes he got her number that night and tries to figure out how to find her.

Adalyn is now starting her career as a nurse. She loves taking care of people but it also can be very hard emotionally. She is finding her way.

She is also finding her way when it comes to relationships..as she hasn't had one. She has had hook ups but nothing that would last. Studying for all of the complex nursing classes will leave no time for anything. She has made friends who are important to her but real romantic relationships, no.

Hayden knows he is only going to be in town for a few weeks but he is drawn to Adalyn. He searches for her and once he finds her it is game on... in his wanting to get to know her better. He senses there might be something special about this girl and he wants to lay a foundation.

As we read this story, we are there as Hayden actually does modern day courting... he is just the best and the feel of these two learning about each other is Everything. There were moments between these two which just made you read with a silly grin on your face.

Then things, like life, took a detour and turn.

But Hayden was not going to let this woman slip away from him. She was it for him and we see all the ways he goes about showing his devotion to her.

I am a huge Meghan Quinn fan and this series has been a winner for me...however, the main winner in this book was Hayden. Adalyn had shown promise in the first half however, as the story continued, her sparkle faded.

I will say Hayden is worth the price of admission. You will love him.

~~~~~ Before Reading ~~~~~
Oh, we had hints of how swoony this Hayden Holmes could be...
Now I get to Find out!
Woo Hoo Diving In!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meghan Quinn has a way...
And I am down for whatever she figures out!
If I have to wait, I will do so...
Knowing the outcome will be worth it...

3.5 STARS!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We first get a glimpse of Hayden Holmes in Back in the Game, a romcom novella about his teammate Calder Weiss. It isn't until we get to Three Blind Dates, that we truly met Hayden and his humble and sweet personality.

Hayden's world centers around playing hockey and when he loses the opportunity at the Stanley Cup after a brawl with a player on the opposing team, Hayden finds comfort at home.

While celebrating at his best friend Racer's house, (yes that Racer, from Twisted Twosome!) Hayden mets Adalyn. He quickly likes her witty and firey personality. From there on a courtship of sorts develops. Hayden and Adalyn can't get enough of each other, but like with all romances, things take a drastic turn.

You all may be wondering why the rating was so low and it wasn't because I didn't like the story; the story was sweet, charming, and emotional. I just didn't feel much of a connection to Adalyn and their was just some moments that had me second guessing where the story would go at one point.

This one may not have been my cup of tea, but I will continue reading Meghan Quinn's books. She just has this way with words that leaves you laughing and crying. Overall, One Baby Daddy packed a mean angst punch and it had those sexy and cute moments as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed 3 Blind Dates. I liked 2 wedding crashers. And I love/hated 1 baby daddy!!! Why you ask? Thank you for asking!!! I love Hayden, all of him! I can't stand Adalyn, she's one of the worst female leads ever!

I LOVED the first half!!! Hayden is legit my favorite character and the first half of the book was freaking awesome. But then Adalyn becomes the single most annoying female character of all time! She is so stupid! I can’t stand her. I want to punch her.

Hayden loves her, and wants to be with her, and take care of her. I understood this AT FIRST because she was a decent character in the beginning, but then she becomes, irritating, fickle, selfish and a horrendous character! She loses any and all redeeming qualities. She breaks up with Hayden because he gets traded (something out of his hands) and then the selfish girl decides she’s not going to tell him about his own baby. You selfish childish person! He is the Daddy! He has a right to know! Especially because he hasn’t done anything wrong!!! He cares about you, wants to make it work, and has treated you with nothing but respect! But you can’t return the favor??? Then she allows Logan, a friend she had sex with previously, to be there for her and is fine stringing him along even though she is not interested in him! He’s supposed to be her friend and he has feelings for her, and wants more but she is so inconsiderate, it doesn’t bother her one bit to use him and lead him on. Even though she’s not interested in him, she has him move across the country with her to be there for her and help her, even though Hayden is there!!! Selfish, stupid, fickle, horrendous lead! I can’t stand this dumb female character! She completely ruined this book for me and let me tell you. I LOVE HAYDEN!!!!!!!!! I hated when they said things like, as soon as Hayden messes up again! He never messed up in the first place! He was traded by his team and had no hand in it, also he offers to make it work long distance or to bring her with him and support her if she doesn’t want to work! UGH! So Hayden YES! Adalyn, I wish I could slap her!

Sorry! You may now continue to your regularly scheduled program

The suit... the jock... the rebel... who would you pick? I’d pick the jock every time, and even though he did not win in the first book, we all win because he got his own book😍

Hayden is a professional hockey player... he is not a player off the ice, he is quiet and some what keeps to himself.... he is also sweet, caring, funny, and of course hot... so pretty much perfect.... Adalyn loved her in the beginning hated her by the end.... Adalyn you were so close to being added to my book BFF list... she was such a fun, sweet, and snarky girl and then.....

This relationship started out just for fun... and then when things started getting serious and real Adalyn turned into a different person.... she became a girl I wanted to reach through the pages and shake some sense into...ugh so annoying! I do understand not wanting to get hurt, but not wanting to get hurt at the detriment of everybody else, not cool! By the end I did not think she was worthy of Hayden... so does Adalyn see The errors in her Waze? Is there a happily ever after? Or is Hayden still on the market?

Loved this entire series... filled with so much love, laughter, and amazing characters (some who I liked more than others)... absolutely recommend this entire series to fans of love💕

*** thank you so much to the author for providing me with a copy of this lovely book! ***

Meghan Quinn is back at it again with her witty, funny, and charming romantic sports romance! If you have been following the series, then the much anticipated story of Hayden is not to be missed. This book packed the punch as it was both heartwarming, sexy, swoony, and humorous. So if you are looking a book that was fun, emotional, and romantic then I highly recommend you to read One Baby Daddy.

Hayden Holmes stole my heart! He made me laugh. He made me swoon! I just loved this sexy jock with a heart of gold.

Hayden and Adalyn connect with each other through a common friend, Racer from Twisted Twosome. These two hit it off right away and have a great few weeks together enjoying each others company. Despite the instant attraction, these two take their time getting to know each other. Hayden senses that there is something special about Adalyn and he doesn't want to ruin their relationship by getting physical too early.

Adalyn is a very spunky heroine. She is strong and independent and is not afraid to tell it like it is. She has never had a real committed relationship before and she lets her fear of failing at love get in the way of taking a chance with Hayden. She makes some questionable decisions that made me want to wring her neck but it all worked out in the end.

Hayden really stepped up his game in the last third of the book. His commitment to win over Adalyn was so sweet! He was so thoughtful and considerate. He just about melted my heart!

Let me just talk about all the cameos for a sec. We get to see Racer and Tucker from the Binghamtom series and of course Racer is his usual crazy self. We also see Noely from Three Blind Dates and we get to see the date she had with Hayden from his point of view and oh my gosh, it's even funnier. Adalyn also meets Calder, Hayden's teammate, from Back in the Game. It was so much fun to see them all together in this book. You can definitely read this as a standalone but I think it would be so much better if you at least read Three Blind Dates first.

This was a great way to end this series. This story was filled with laughs, emotional highs and lows, a strong sassy heroine and a sexy swoon worthy hero. What else could you ask for.

I have shelves named "I am in minority" and "if I could give a zero", but right now I am thinking about making another one with title "worst book ever", "worst bitch heroine ever", "I wanna smash this book to pieces" and so on.

But I think you got the point.

I never hated anybody in my life so much as I hate this fictional girl.
It started all good, I like both of them, until the moment her character went to the drain.

1) She got pregnant after going on a trip to NY and forgetting to take not one, not two, but SIX, yeah, you read correct -six of her pills. Who the fuck does that? Gold diggers - that's who (I was wondering why he never thought about that)

2) she gave him the fuck off card even without listening to him, knowing there is possibility she is pregnant?!?!?!

3) even when she comfirmed it, SHE DECIDED SHE ISN'T GOING TO TELL HIM HE IS GOING TO BE A DAD!!!! Who does that???

4) he once again gravels and kisses her feet (only God knows why), she decides to move to be closer to him and try to work it out, but then brings her old fling to LIVE WITH HER. Yes, nothing says I wanna try to fix this thing between us, like bringing a guy i used to fuck, to live with me

5) he still tries, she "still don't want to be hurt". For somebody who doesn't want to be hurt, she sure can hurt anybody when she wants

6) her cold rejection of Logan and her weirdness after sex is cementing my decision to hate her

If she wasn't pregnant, I was honest to God, hoping she would get run over by a bus and PERFECT Hayden would find somebody who will make him happy. She is TERRIBLE!!

In one moment even Hayden said: if she wasn't weakened by weeks of being sick (c'mon 🙄🙄🙄🙄, I was pregnant too, that can't be it), I would run now, because I don't want somebody so thoughtless handling my heart either". Run HAYDEN, Run AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!!

What can I say that he already didn't thought himself? But, hands down to Meghan Quinn, for writing such a character which I can hate so much.

Even the end was bad, he cried and he was happy and he told her he loved her and fuss about her,.... and what did she do? Nothing!
I was expecting that last, final good deed by her, where she waits for him in his jersey and claims she loves him, but no.... She was hurt and he, once again, show her how good he is.

I loved Hayden from book #1, and still love him in the end of this book, can't belive he deserved this. Wishing for a book #4, where he is mourning his old girlfriend who died in a car accident and he is meeting somebody new, somebody better than Adelyn.

Meghan Quinn returns to her Dating by Numbers series with One Baby Daddy where NHL rookie, Hayden Holmes, escapes to his hometown during the summer in order to forget a difficult end of season. Upon arriving, he’s immediately enamored with the feisty nurse he meets at his best friend’s house.

He didn’t get her number but that doesn’t stop him from looking for her in every hospital in town until he finds Adalyn, the brunet with great legs and an addicting personality and then proceeds to get to know and woo her. His offense on her heart, body and soul is slow but purposeful, intent on laying the foundation for a long lasting relationship. But his plans never included getting her pregnant, much less have to contend for her love.

Hayden and Adalyn’s connection and attraction feels natural and perfect, it’s difficult to imagine that their lives would be thrown into so much chaos and heartache mainly because of Adalyn’s own issues which create the biggest and most obstacles to their happy ending. I was flipping pages, glued to their story from start to finish while swooning, fanning myself, cursing the heroine, biting my fingernails and smiling. It was a wonderful romantic escape.

Meghan Quinn has a reputation for creating the best heroes and Hayden is no exception. It was impossible not to fall for him and wish him the very best. Underneath the incredible athlete with a gorgeous face and a body to match resides a down to earth family man with a heart of gold. He’s caring and thoughtful, sweet and funny and attractively alpha. I loved Hayden’s deep seated desire to take the physical part of their relationship at a slow yet deliciously sexy pace, everything he did was with Adalyn’s happiness in mind. The complete package and a definite book boyfriend.

One Baby Daddy is book #3 of the Dating by Numbers series by Meghan Quinn who writes a sweet, fun, sexy, heartfelt and swoony hockey romance. Told by both points of view with a happy ending.

Meghan Quinn excels at writing male leads that I want to marry. Gah! Hayden is sheer perfection. He's down to earth, sweet, smart, sexy, and rich. What girl wouldn't fall in love with him and hope to have all the babies?! I certainly would! If he were real, I'd be fighting my way to the front of that line, my long and happy marriage notwithstanding. LOL

So, here's what I loved about One Baby Daddy:
Good writing
Great chemistry between all the characters
I loved the humor and actually laughed out loud during parts of it.
I absolutely loved the interconnected relationships between the characters. This is another strength of the author. She weave those connections so very well. I'd want to be friends with this group of individuals.

Now for the not so good news, I'm completely split down the middle over Adalyn. In the first half of the book, I enjoyed seeing her open up and move forward with Hayden. The last half of the book, I wanted to throat punch her. I was seriously perturbed with this woman. Like, pissed the heck off at the decisions she made. While I could rationalize a few of them based on her history with men, her naivety ended up being just a tad too much for me. And don't even get me started on her ex/best friend. Ugh!
I also struggled a bit with the direction of the story. It was not at all what I expected. Yea, that's probably on me, so I won't ding the book too much for it. If you're looking for a different spin on the secret baby trope, this one is for you.

Original review: The Romance Corner

*I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.*

I have been dying, and I mean DYING, to read Hayden Holme’s story ever since we first met him in Back in the Game. When he didn’t end up getting the girl in Three Blind Dates, I was low key bummed about it but I knew Meghan Quinn would pull through and give Hayden the happily-ever-after he deserved…or at least I hoped she would. *crosses fingers*

After losing his cool on the ice and costing his team a shot at the championship, Hayden Holmes decides to head up to Binghamton to get away from the media and to clear his head. There he meets Adalyn, a sassy nurse who isn’t used to commitment, but there’s something about the charming hockey player that has Adalyn wanting more. Hayden and Adalyn end up falling fast and hard for each other, but when Hayden gets traded to another team, Adalyn decides that it would be best to break things off before anyone gets hurt. But a clean break isn’t going to work in her favor this time around—not with an unexpected surprise on the way.

When I found out that Adalyn was going to be Hayden’s love interest, I was hyped because that meant we were going to be seeing some of my favorite characters from the Binghamton series again! At the same time, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect because Hayden and Adalyn have very opposite personalities so I was curious to see how things would end up playing out for them. The overall plot was entertaining and while surprise pregnancies can be a hit or miss trope, it worked for me in this book. Y’all are definitely going to need some patience going into this one because holy shit this was such an angsty, slow-burning romance. There were numerous obstacles these two had to work through, but the wait is so worth it in the end.

HAYDEN HOLMES IS MY NEW BOOK HUSBAND! I just want all y’all out there to know that Hayden has been claimed for so hands off! But in all seriousness, Hayden is definitely my favorite hero in this series. He’s just genuinely a good guy with a lot of patience and I loved the fact that he never pushed Adalyn to be with him. He just gave her straight facts and he let her decide whether or not she was willing to take a chance on him. Adalyn was a bit of a surprise because when we first met her in My Best Friend’s Ex, she came off as this confident, go-luck girl who just wanted to have a good time. But in One Baby Daddy, we got to peel back her layers and see that she does have some insecurities and that just made her more relatable. I honestly couldn’t get enough of these two together and I didn’t want their story to end.

One Baby Daddy was the perfect ending to the Dating by Numbers series and Meghan Quinn definitely knew what she was doing when she saved the best story for last! If you haven’t picked up this series yet, then you definitely need to change that ASAP because this series is so freakin’ good and no one writes rom-coms better than Meghan Quinn! I know a spin-off series is in the works for a few of the secondary characters throughout this series and I can’t wait to see Meghan has in stores for us next!

Buddy read with the awesome Deniz! (Which was the only reason I finished)

I had several issues with this book:

Issue #1. Continuity.

Last we saw Hayden in Three Blind Dates he was playing for the Quakes and had been recently burned by a girl. This book doesn't continue from there; instead it drops you back several months into the past without a warning. (At the beginning I though it was several years! That's how jarring the timeline change was)

Issue #2. Inconsistencies in the story.

- In Three Blind Dates, Hayden says that his old relationship happened too fast. However, that doesn't seem to be what's happening in this book.

- At the beginning of the book both Hayden and his friend make Hayden's dad sound like an ogre, but then when Hayden actually talks to him, he sounds like the nicest person! Plus he talked about how close he was with his dad in book 1, so what on earth is happening here?!

Issue #3. Adalyn.

She just killed the book for me. She was the most annoying, ambivalent, selfish person ever. I wouldn't wish her on my worst enemy.

Here are some notes I wrote to Deniz on our BR thread:

Issue #4. My ship.

I think my major problem with this book is the fact that I just wanted Hayden to end up with Noely in book 1. He was by far my favourite, and I think they had more chemistry together than with the partners they ended up with.

The End.

Warning: This review is a mess and it mostly likely sucks so read at your own discretion lol.

Who else had been not so patiently waiting for the Jock's story? Hayden had me so intrigued in Three Blind Dates and Back in the Game. He seemed like such a good guy and a great friend so I had been dying to get his story and learn why he was so sad and also learn about the girl he left behind when he was traded. But boy I had no idea how much emotion this one would pull from me.

Adalyn was so sweet in the beginning but I really hated her attitude at times. Okay, yes she'd never been in a relationship before, yes long distance relationships aren't easy... but Hayden deserved better than what she put him through, unnecessarily may I had. She really made me mad, she kept hurting my sweet baby and it broke my heart to see him in pain.

The first half of the book was pretty perfect. I loved watching Hayden pursue her and fall in love with her but then he's traded and everything in his life falls apart including the close-to-perfect relationship he had been building with Adalyn. She doesn't believe in a long distance relationship, much less one with a famous hockey player. And to add to the chaos, she discovers something that will change their lives forever at the time all this is going on.
And that's the moment she starts pissing me off. I love it when a guy has to fight to get the girl, but she not only made it hard, she made it hurt as well. And that sucked for him, and for me as a reader because it was obvious how much Hayden loved her and was happy about the baby and she was just so stupid and blind and kept on hurting him over and over, and that really hurt to read. I just wanted him to finally FINALLY get his happy ending. After two books he darn well deserved it and so did I lol. The surprise chapter in the midst of the book scared me half to death. At a certain moment, I thought that he wouldn't get his HEA in his own darn book but thank god, it was just another bump in their long road.

I'm sorry this review sucks. I swear this book made me crazy! I mean I love when books mess with my emotions but this one pulled emotions I don't particularly appreciate. I felt such empathy for Hayden, it was just really hard to read the unfairness of his situation. He was like the perfect guy, like complete full package, he was pretty transparent about his emotions too, only a blind person couldn't see (aka Adalyn). He seriously did not deserve what he was put through and it was something that could have been controlled, she had complete control of the situation and she really made the wrong choices. Yes it was her choice but she should have taken Hayden's rights into consideration and she didn't, she let her fears rule over every single possible outcome of their situation and I hated that.
While she started the book as a pretty sweet and cool girl, she changed her tune when the going got tough and I lost all admiration for her at that point. Even though I still very much wanted him to get his girl, and rooted for things to work out, it just didn't feel right. I wanted better for Hayden, I really did.

But anyway... my emotions are pretty clear on this book. I love Hayden way too much and I was kind of disappointed with Adalyn. Their story was a long journey and a complete roller coaster ride. It started way high and then dropped down low in a flash. It will probably frustrate you too but it's definitely worth a read. Mainly because it's Hayden, duh! For anyone like me who had been dying to finally get our Jock's story, you are in for quite a ride. Prepare yourself!

This one is Hayden and Adalyn’ love story – super cute and as always hilarious. The moment Hayden and Adalyn first met already had me giggling like a school girl. Hayden is a professional hockey player who recently had a blow out on the ice, benched and as a result his team lost the Stanley Cup. Hayden got nothing to do but escape and brooding for a while. Hayden and Adalyn have a mutual friend Racer. During a get together at Racer’s house Adalyn caught Hayden snooping around – she called him out on it and so the back and forth balls-busting begins.

I like that the hero and heroine is relatable. I absolutely adore Hayden – popular, sexy, talented but there is something charming, humble about him. He is not a typical jock, but rather a gentleman when it comes to dating and relationship. Don’t get me wrong Hayden is not immune to lust but it is important for him to have a deep love connection before hopping in bed with the woman. Like I said the man is totally swoon-worthy. Adalyn is a more forward one in this relationship. She is bold, sassy, a ball buster. Adalyn knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it – and she wants Hayden!!! With Hayden waiting patiently for the perfect moment to make a move – you can guess the sexual tension is off the chart. I do enjoy how their relationship progress – friends to lovers, slow building, sensual yet sexy. There are of course speed bumps on the way to HEA (you can guess by the title of the book) among other things (Adalyn’s ex-boyfriend) which make the story more interesting. There is also Racer – an overprotective friend. I got to be honest I was a bit weird out with how protective he is over Adalyn knowing that Hayden is a great guy. For a moment, I was not sure where that relationship was going. Not to worry – no love triangle here…

Over all, Hayden and Adalyn love story is adorable. Amazing chemistry, hilarious banters, very typical of Meghan’s writing. Another sweet rom-com you don’t want to miss.

One Baby Daddy by Meghan Quinn was everything I was hoping for and more.

I loved the storyline, it was well paced, well written and I enjoyed watching Hayden and Adalyn fall in love.
From the first few pages I was in love, Hayden is such a sweet, caring, passionate and loving man. He had me swooning all throughout the book and I just loved how thoughtful, patient and loving he was with Adalyn.

It's always tough writing a review for a book that you loved half of and kind of liked the other half.

This book started out strong. Really strong actually. I loved both of the characters so much. I loved them in the appearances they made in previous books and I loved them in the first half of this book. Their chemistry was off the charts, their banter was hilarious and very witty.

Hayden was the perfect H. He was so sweet and he really wanted to give Adalyn the respect she deserved. He treated her like a queen and he is exactly what every woman deserves from start to finish. He is everything that Adalyn wanted and he helped her recognize her worth. I absolutely loved that. It is such an amazing message to send to girls and women.

Adalyn has been one of my favorite characters ever since she appeared in My Best Friend's Ex. She is so funny, so strong, and very much a bad ass we all aspire to be. In the first half of the book. By the second half, I hated her. Like actually, legitimately despised her. She made me so angry. I didn't understand where she was coming from and instead of acting like a mature adult and accepting her role in everything, she played the victim card. The only thing she accepted her half of the blame in was getting pregnant. That's it. She did not accept her role in her situation with Hayden. She kept blaming him when he had no choice in anything that was going on. She kept secrets she should not have kept and her overall choices were idiotic. Especially where Logan was concerned. Seriously, I can't stand her now. Even at the end she didn't redeem herself. She never even apologizes. She is the sole reason I knocked this down to a 3 star.

I hated that everything came down to Hayden as if he had anything to make up for- he didn't. He tried to make things work and she just gave him the finger at every turn and then cried about it. I really wish that the women in romance novels would own up to their mistakes and be the ones to fight. Men aren't always as fault just because they're men.

Racer made a huge appearance in this book, which I loved. He was the voice of reason through pretty much everything and I loved him the more for it. Same with Emma. I don't think I could have been Adalyn's friend through this.

This book had all of the awesome trappings of a Meghan Quinn book. The writing was fantastic, it had a lot of funny moments, and the story line was well thought out and organic. Despite my grievances with Adalyn, I do recommend this book because seriously, every one deserves a Hayden. Meghan Quinn's writing continues to get better and better with every book she writes and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Almost DNF

The first half was really good. Both characters where well developed and the chemistry was there. Around the 50% mark Adalyn took a turn for the worse. Her character became extremely unlikable and I almost put the book down. I kept reading just to see how it would turn out and it didn’t improve. The wrap up didn’t provide closure or confirmation that she realized her mistake, no redeeming qualities. I feel like a five year epilogue would have them divorced.

It is well written and I like the author but this one was disappointing. I don’t think the extra drama was needed and it ruined it for me. There was enough already there. It would be 1 Star if not for the writhing quality.

One thing that is always consistent with a Meghan Quinn book is that I get so easily wrapped up into everything. Whether I’m falling in love with someone or despising them, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I feel some kind of emotion towards them. Fair warning, my review is basically loving on Hayden. I just can’t help it.

One Baby Daddy is sweet, sexy and funny. One beautiful package that keeps you engaged from start to finish. I can honestly say that I liked every single person in this story, including the one that I know a lot of people are going to hate.

I hate to compare books and/or characters because I think each author deserves the recognition for their hard work. However, I’m going to compare Hayden Holmes to someone only because it shows how much I love him. Truth…I don’t really fall for the sweet guys. Most of the time, I’m indifferent to them. Sure, I’ll do a quick “aww” at some things but I don’t usually fall for them. My first love with a sweetheart was Brody Murphy in Room For You. He’s also a hockey player like Hayden so I’m being real when I tell you that I compare the two. Both are swoon worthy with the biggest hearts on the planets. It’s been almost four years since I fell in love with Brody and Hayden from One Baby Daddy has me questioning my loyalty. I’m now one of those girls you read about who has fallen in love with two men and is absolutely torn. The girl that you want to scream at and make them pick a side. Hayden Holmes stole a piece of my heart reserved for someone else and I swear to you, that is the biggest compliment I could give.

If you like sports romance with a swoon worthy, to die for hero who will sweep you off your feet and melt your heart, then you need to get One Baby Daddy. It has wit, banter, a bit of drama and a whole lotta love. Well done, Meghan. You always suck me in with your stories.

It’s Stanley Cup playoff time and reading One Baby Daddy was a perfect companion to watching hot men skate and score. Score a lot if you’re Hayden. *eye brow waggle*

Seriously though, Hayden has reached the top of my favorite book boyfriends by Meghan Quinn. I loved his approach toward Adalyn and their impending romance. Loved their slow burn. Loved how he built up that anticipation with every look and touch. Seriously swooning in my seat while I was reading.

And Adalyn is equally amazing. She’s strong willed, smart, sexy and can keep Hayden and the rest of the Brawlers and Hayden’s brothers in check. Okay, equally amazing until I wanted to reach inside my Kindle a couple times to choke her . . . err . . . try to talk some sense into her.

I loved how One Baby Daddy overlapped with the timeline of Three Blind Dates and Back in the Game. I loved Hayden and Adalyn as a couple. They are truly perfect for each other. And I couldn’t help but root for them to get their act together and communicate! I loved how Haden and Adalyn resolved their issues. And that ending. Damn it. Perfect. ~ Missy, 5 stars

Hayden and Adalyn and Logan?

This book started off pretty good but then dragged when Hayden kept making Adalyn wait before taking their relationship to the next level. The first sex scene between these two was quite a ways in. It started off sweet as he had sweet intentions to get to know her better but after awhile it was just frustrating.

Then what really took the book down even more was making this a love triangle between Adalyn and a nursing school friend Logan. Logan and Adalyn were great friends who have sex once then he tells her it was a mistake and that’s that. She’s broken hearted but they end up moving on as friends.

She then proceeds to get knocked up by Hayden when she skips several birth control pills because that’s normal for a woman whose a nurse. Hayden who is a hockey player gets traded and he asks her to come but instead she says no AND keeps the baby news to herself.

Hayden eventually finds out about the baby and starts fighting for her at this point because he loves her. Adalyn moves to LA so Hayden can be the dad he wants to be. We then get dear friend Logan who not only moves to LA to be with Adalyn and moves in with her but he decides to confess his love for her. Does she say “I’m sorry but I’m in love with my baby daddy.”? Nope! From this point it’s her inner dialogue of confusion between the guys and her lying to and playing each of them.

If you want sweet fun romance this isn’t for you. This was just a hot mess of a heroine who had no idea what she was doing or what she wanted.

So disappointed.

Star Ratings:
Heroine (Adalyn): 23yrs old
Hero (Haydon): 23yrs old
Plot: 2/5
Grovel: not enough by the h
Cheating: technically none
HEA: yes
Triggers: they go on dates with other people during separation

Average score: 2/5

Best Line: none

Worst Line: “Why is this girl a hussy? That’s what you’re thinking, right?”

Personal Review:
A supposed romance between a mature athlete and an idiotic, immature ‘heroine’ who enjoyed stringing the H along and also messing with his emotions by living with her ex who was also a ‘friend’ (her ex moves in with her because he is in love with her and she lets him)

Random Ramblings:
•Wow, I hadn’t realised he would be that young
•What??? She ‘fooled around’ with her two male best friends?!
•Another romance were I am liking him more than her
•Urgh, she is really annoying me
•I just can’t deal with her
•Unrealistic ending

Overall Feeling:
Too juvenile for me
