Cafe Yumm signs 3-unit deal for Boise

Oregon-based Cafe Yumm has signed a three-unit franchise agreement with a husband and wife team to develop restaurant locations in and around Boise, Idaho. The agreement, according to a company press release, marks Cafe Yumm’s entry into the state and is its first multi-unit deal.

"From the time Mary Ann (Mark’s wife and founding partner) and I opened our first restaurant, we hoped to someday bring CafeYumm to other cities in Oregon, then to Washington, and eventually to the rest of America," Mark Beauchamp, president and co-founder, said in the release. "It was part of our desire to nourish humanity and the world—something we could achieve by introducing new guests and communities to sustainable, healthy options that are delicious and unexpected."

Cafe Yumm, founded in 1997, had only two restaurants when it began franchising 2007, but now has 22 units.

"It took 21 years for us to open 22 restaurants," Beauchamp said. "This multi-unit agreement represents the beginning of a new growth phase for CafeYumm. While I am delighted multi-unit operators are talking to us about how to bring Cafe Yumm to other areas, we would not be where we are today without our early single-unit franchisees — most of whom have opened second units."

The chain specializes in sustainable and locally sourced ingredients, including all-natural chicken and turkey, wild north Pacific Salmon, Organic tempeh and tofu, according to the release.
