Madonna and Michael Jackson, the King and Queen of Pop, united in one photograph. On that evening of March 25, 1991, the two icons were beside themselves with happiness, their smiles lighting up their faces. Both were at the top of their game: Michael Jackson was enjoying the colossal success of his album Bad and was in the middle of creating his next: Dangerous. Just before this picture was taken, wrapped up in her fur, Madonna had just performed Sooner or Later at the 63rd Oscars ceremony. Imitating the outfit and attitude of the most famous pin-up girl ever, the singer paid tribute to Marilyn Monroe on stage. A vocal and artistic performance that would one day win her the Oscar for Best Original Song in the film Dick Tracy by Warren Beaty. Hailed by critics, this performance would be classed in 2013 as one of the 10 most incredible in Oscars history by Billboard Magazine. On the evening that this photo was taken, Madonna and Michael Jackson had everything to be smiling about.
