It was temptation that broke the sinner.

People say I have everything.
They’re wrong.
I may have looks, money, and privilege, but I don’t have the one thing that really matters, the one thing I crave: a woman with eyes only for me.
I’m searching for my woman—one who will fall to her knees because I’m her king. She’ll wear the crown of my tarnished name, and long for me when I’m not near. And when I am close, she’ll be naked across my lap, feeling the sting of my palm across her milky skin.
You could say I’m a sinner because I’d do anything to have the perfect woman—compliant to my every need and whim—and I’m envious of every couple who walks around naive to the luxury they have.

That’s why I joined The Elite, the most prestigious brotherhood in the south.
It’s the one place that will give me what I cannot have.
Only…the task assigned to me is too much for my jealous eyes.
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak...they’re for The Elite.
Those who envy have no peace.
My name is Sabastian Westbrook.
I am Envy.

descriptionWhat da f-ck did I just read?? (lol) I don't even know what to say. I legit think this one was my favorite of the series, but I still didn't like it. #SorryNotSorry It was basically a rehashing of a bunch of prior events. The Elite and task aspect was a blip. Again we had a bunch of pointless OW sex scenes. However, at least this one didn't force us into an underdeveloped romance because there is NO romance in this book at all. Kudos to the author for that because I personally think all the books thus far would have been a lot better without the romances. That aspect alone earned this one an extra star. Sebastian could have been a very intriguing character if the book was longer allowing for more development. As it stands, I was just left feeling "meh" about him. Last, we again end on a cliffhanger. If I wasn't holding out for K's book I would probably call it a day at this point because so far this series has been super disappointing to me. Oh well, onwards...

SIDE NOTE: I think this is the ONLY book so far that TRULY matched the sin it was named after.

Who the heck is Sabastian?

Those who envy have no peace.
My name is Sabastian Westbrook.
I am ENVY

Envy was the first character in the series to live up to his sin. I've never seen someone so consumed with want and need and obsession in my life! Even now, at the end of his book, I don't think he knows who he is or even learned his lesson. He's conniving and manipulative and sneaky and clingy and charming and good looking and rich... and still so envious of others.

With Envy, I experienced one of those times when I can't connect or like the character, but I was still able to enjoy the story. Sabastian lived up to some really unrealistic standards and lived his life on the edge. He was irreverent and lethal and no one said anything, but he had to be suffering from some sort of psychopathy.

"He's super sweet, but I get this Ted Bundy feeling around him, you know?"

I'm sure it's just me, but this character seemed drastically different from the character I came to know from the first book, Lust. Maybe it's because each other has a unique perspective of who he is and what makes him tick. Maybe it's because before now, I only got him in glimpses. Maybe it's because I will never really know him. Regardless, I love how Forgy captured him in this book. I loved how far she delved into how corrupt and completely immoral he was without losing some of his substance in the process. The story was short, but I feel like the author was able to give me a dimensional character that swam rather than coasted on the dark side. With a huge cliffhanger at the end, I'm hoping the tone set for Sabastian doesn't change in the next book of the series.

🎶 Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I’ll be watching you. 🎶

I am actually speechless at the moment... I literally just finished reading this one, and all I can think is : What the hell did I just read??????

First of all, this fourth book in the series is not a romance theme at agll. I also can’t even say that Sebastian’s a hero of this story. He is anything but a hero... believe me he’s not someone who I’d want to capture his attention from. The guy is certifiably crazy!!!
I will finish this review tomorrow when I’m more awake 😂

Genre: Dark Suspense
Type: Book 4 of 7 from The Elite Seven series
POV: First Person - Male
Rating:

Sebastian Westbrook had everything he wanted but not one thing that he truly needed. While not thrilled with the changes in his life, he knew this was his opportunity to take what he craved. If envy is the root of all evil then he’d gladly serve his soul on a silver platter to finally own the one that caught his heart.

Seeing someone with something better than me boils my blood. I will not rest until I’ve shown I’m more commendable. That people admire me.

From the ending of the last book I had certain expectations for this one. I’m thrilled the author ticked off pretty much everything I wanted. The story also focused more on Sebastian than the Elite in general which helped minimize repetitiveness of past books.

My dick is throbbing, and my balls ache. Fuck, there’s something about that innocence I want to set on fire and dance in.

I can safely say Sebastian is my favorite one so far. His motivation was a breath of fresh air because it’s different from the sins before him. He had a specific vulnerability that is my weakness when it comes to being drawn to a character. And I loved how he was unapologetic with the path he chose.

Envy is a story of unrestrained ambition. I love the direction this series is going so I’m hoping the next book will keep the momentum.

***3 "Stalking!!!" stars***

"Once upon a time, an angel fell in love with a devil
-it ended in chaos."

I really don't know how I'm feeling about this story...
No, i think i know!!!! I'm furious and disappointed!!!! With Sebastian!!!
Don't get me wrong!!!! The author did a great job delivering this story, but unfortunately, Sebastian wasn't a loveable hero, at least for me!!! I wish he were... But it didn't feel that he could be redeemed after all!!!
And i believe that from all these men, he will be my least favorite when this series will be over!!!

"I'm ready to fight. To kill. I did what I had to do. What everyone will have to do to join The Elite. Lie, cheat, deface."

Honestly, i had so many expectations about this book!!!
In the previous book, we got to know Sebastian, aka Envy, a little bit more and he was showing like a nice guy... And even though, the ending was sketchy, i believe that there was a good reason about what happened there...
But unfortunately, the answer was the obvious one, even though i didn't want to believe it!!!

"It's funny how people think that unknown evils lurk at night, but it's the ones that blend in during the light of day you should really be worried about. Me."

Yep, Sebastian had his own issues as the rest of the guys, and he seemed like a nice guy, but this was just a facade...
He had many obsessions and stalkering ways to get what he wanted...
He didn't earn his place in the Elite, but he forced it upon them... and he became the perfect lunatic pawn for Lillian's sick tasks...
Sebastian's task wasn't like the rest of the others... but i won't say much about it!!!
God, this man was giving me chills!!! He has no morals to put some brake on him!!!

"Don't care who needs it or wants it. My task is done...It could be much worse. We're the guys who play God without permission, after all."

"Lust, wrath, pride, greed, gluttony -I feel all my brother's sins coursing through me, swirling inside me like a tornado ripping everything apart and raining down chaos."

Gawd!!! I'm so infuriated with him... He could have potentials, but he blow everything up with his awful actions!!!
And damn... Poor Sam, poor Sab!!!! Poor Patience!!! My heart was breaking for them!!!
Not even that ending didn't manage to make me like him!!!! Yep, i didn't like his fate at the end, because i think that this wasn't the solution!!!
Hopefully, Wrath will put his hands upon him!!!! Arrrr...

"He's speaking to me without saying a word.
Warning me.
Threating.
A motherfucking promise.
He's coming for me.
And I fucking deserve his wrath."

Before i close my furious review, in my previous review i told you that i will tell you more about Sabella in here!!! Unfortunately, i won't do it after all!!!
I was expecting different development and i took something different and I'm sorry but I can't share anything with you!!!!
Honestly, I can't wait for the next book and Micah's story and I'm crossing my fingers to like him at the end!!! Because Sebastian hasn't deserved the likeness that i was supposed to give him!!!

"What the fuck is going on? It seems the whole Elite has been shaken by the hands of the devil. I guess the question is, can we handle the rock?"

Are you ready for initiation?

This is ENVY: Book#4 in the Elite 7 Series

Those who envy have no peace. My name is Sebastian Westbrook.I am Envy.

MY REVIEW
Sebastian really lived up to his title ENVY. Even though he already had so much, he still wanted what others had. He desperately wanted to find a woman who accepts him for him and loves him the way he needs.

Sebastian has been the hardest character for me in the Elite 7 to connect with. The author did an excellent job of portraying his darkness but there was not a great deal of romance in this book. Sebastian Aka Envy, had some tendencies that creeped me the hell out, his lack of guilt was difficult to swallow.

I really enjoyed reading the story through Sebastian’s eyes. This series is so unique, I am hooked line and sinker. I cannot wait now for the next book!

So far Envy is hands down my favorite book from The Elite Seven series. I loved the thriller type vibe it had and that it was almost like reading a book through a serial killers mind. There's no doubt, Sebastian was more than a little unhinged but damn if I didn't find it intriguing. There was no telling what he would do to get what he wanted and that's what made it so captivating to read.

As a whole, this book was full of mostly just scenes that were featured in the previous books, which I would usually find annoying, yet I didn't. Sebastian had such a unique POV on everything that had already happened that sometimes it felt like reading something completely new and I really enjoyed that. I feel like this book definitely proves there is a lot to come from this series so I can't wait to find out what else will happen.

I am literally scratching my head after having read this Envy. I don't whether I liked this one or not 🤷🏻‍♀️
I mean, sure...Sebastian's character definitely exuded his sin en point but other than that..this book was Kind of all over the place yet still lacked something.
Sebastian freaks me out... There were so many moments that made me really uncomfortable with his creepy, overly needy, stalker-ish vibe.

This book had NO ROMANCE yet had so many sex scenes that just made me wonder wtf was going on. As I was readying through the book, I noticed the book coming to an end and wondering whether I got an unfinished copy of the book because I really didn't understand where the story was headed and why the book was ending without there being any romance.
To be honest... Sebastian was a dud for me.

I'll be honest, the only reason I am hanging on to this series is the last three books. Three more deadly sins by three of my favourite authors.

Envy has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Envy is the art of taking on another's blessing instead of your own.

Teaser Envy

Sebastian Westbrook grew up in a family without wealth; he knew how awful it was to live with no money.  After his parents died his life changed dramatically; he now had everything money could buy except what he desired the most.  His uncle wanted to use him but Sebastian didn't see it that way, he knew this opportunity was one of a lifetime and he was going to prove his uncle and everyone else what he was truly made of.

❝ It's funny how people think that unknown evils lurk at night, but it's the ones that blend in during the light of day you should really be worried about. Me.

This installment in the series is by far my favorite one yet; the story wasn’t repetitive and I find characters that have issues appealing because you don’t know what they’ll do next. Everything Envy did was so unpredictable which makes the story suspenseful and interesting. Envy to me was the strongest elite member so far who didn’t backed down for a challenge regardless of the consequences. I felt he was true to his character, he needed the elite and was bound to do whatever it took to be a part of it even if he loses his soul in the process.

❝ I was a rough kid trying to handle a fairy he only heard about in storybooks.  The realization that I could be happy was blinding.

The book was full of surprises and socking events but yet exciting moments. Truly loved the darkness and crazies of this installment, not as sexy as the others but I didn’t feel it needed it. Overall, readers continuing this series who enjoy darker elements in stories will find this book appealing.

Sebastian Westbrook is on the cusp of getting everything he wants; a woman to love, independence and success of his own. With certain thoughts influencing his decisions, the path he takes isn’t free of obstacles, but Sebastian feels like it’s all going to change.

“To feel things as deeply and personal as I do is a curse.”

Told solely from Sebastian’s POV, getting into his dark mind is seamless and is a place where boundaries don’t exist. Standing out from the previous books, Sebastian is on a level where he isn’t completely in the dark, yet the Elite continues to maintain the illusion of power and deception.

“It’s funny how people think that unknown evils lurk at night, but it’s the ones that blend in during the light of day you should really be worried about.”

I loved how Sebastian made his own mark and didn’t offer any apologies for his drive and desire. I also liked how the plot deviated in from its predecessors by allowing for more development and intrigue. So far, Envy is my favorite book of the series and I cannot wait to see how Sebastian’s actions further impact his goals and his Elite brothers. Additionally, I’m so curious about the remaining brothers because it’s all starting to really ramp up.

Envy is a story about a man willing to do whatever it takes in search of achieving his dream.

I have no idea what just happened… because nothing exciting actually occurred, except this character becoming so unhinged and deranged, he succumbed to unexpected self-destructive ways. Sebastian Westbrook embodied his given sin—despite having a handsome appearance, a charming persona and unlimited riches, he is envious, consumed by an obsession to possess something everyone appears to have: a romantic relationship.

“Once upon a time, an angel fell in love with a devil—it ended in chaos.”

Envy doesn't feature romance though; only a toxic, unashamed fascination with Sabella Gunner, an innocent woman caught within the unrelenting pursuit of an imbalanced psychopath. I couldn't find myself able to connect, or at least appreciate, this unique character's disposition because there’s no redeemable qualities waiting to be discovered, or a hidden complexity ready to astound readers. Rather, he is callous, cruelly malicious and apathetic when engaged with anyone. For someone apparently starved of affection, he isn’t hesitant to deny himself the possibilities.

It isn’t the lacking character development, or the standstill Elite Seven story-line that stopped me from enjoying this though. It’s the constant repetitive scenes, the ones with no development whatsoever, that create an unexciting and uninteresting beginning. However, Sebastian's unique perspective on situations made this redundant feature somewhat more bearable.

ENVY! This book was not a romance. It was so different from the first three books, but I think it worked perfectly with the whole story.

Sebastian was... awful. I felt sorry for him. He was just a villain looking for love. I didn't get all the answers I wanted, but I did get some of them.

This was my first M.N. Forgy, and I have to say I really enjoy her writing style—her crazy side is fascinating so gimme all her books, please.

Those who envy have no peace.
My name is Sebastian Westbrook.
I am ENVY

Sebastian has all the material comforts in live, he has riches, health, happiness but is desperately seeking for the one woman who will be madly in love with him.

“He’s super sweet, but I get this Ted Bundy feeling around him, you know?”

Of the four books that have already been released in this series, Sebastian is the one character that had me jaw slacking during the whole book and glued to my iPad.
He is totally different from his brothers and is unapologetic about who he is and what he wants.

It's funny how people think that unknown evils lurk at night, but it's the ones that blend in during the light of day you should really be worried about. ME.

While I was a bit surprised with the task Sebastian got from the she-Lucifer incarnation, I was glad he made it into the Elite without a hitch.
I did wonder if he had gotten a similar task as the other three, if he would have completed it with the same ease (and glee).

Envy's story is a shocking one, but I think I know where this is going and must say, if that is true, this was a brilliantly set twist.

Part of the The Elite Seven Series and are best enjoyed when read in order.
Ker Dukey:“ The stories are connected. The love stories are complete in each book, but the back story carries on throughout the series.”

"Once upon a time, an angel fell in love with a devil-it ended in chaos."

Envy is alluring with just the right dose of danger.

Envy by M.N. Forgy is the fourth book in The Elite Seven series. This novel is told in Sebastian's point of view!

I have been waiting for this book since I found out about this series! M.N. Forgy is one of my favorite authors so saying Envy was my most anticipated from the series would be a complete understatement. I've been dying for Sebastian's story since I wrapped up Lust and I have to say, Forgy did not disappoint!

Sebastian is a very complex character. Let's just say, this man fits the role perfectly. I couldn't get enough of his story, he's a master manipulator and I freaking loved watching the way his mind worked throughout the situations he would get himself in.

"You never know who you'll need at your disposal the day the devil comes knocking for souls, and making friends with everyone gives me a goddamn army."

But holy hell, the twists and turns throughout this whole damn novel nearly gave me whiplash! When I thought I would have the story mapped out and predicted, Forgy would send it in a whole different direction. With that being said, I saw nothing coming. I was completely stunned by the sequence of the novel. And that cliffhanger...... FREAKING BRUTAL!!!

Overall, Envy may just be my new favorite in the series! All the angst, danger, and twists made for a compelling and highly addictive read! I can't wait to see what trouble these boys get into next!

We all knew Sebastian was going to be a weird one, but WOW is he entertaining!!!!
“That killing seems so easy scares me sometimes.”

Not only is Sebastian’s craziness incredibly entertaining, but this book is extremely different from its predecessors. In ENVY, this series takes a sharp turn and flies into the dark side!!! Also different from the rest, this book ends with a fabulously disturbing cliffhanger. Usually I hate cliffhangers, but knowing the next book is around the corner, I’ve never been more excited about this series!!

I have 2 complaints about this book:
1. It’s badly in need of a proofread. There words missing, extra words added, TO used instead of TOO, and quotation marks in the wrong places. Sebastian even recalls something about his parents when it was actually his aunt and uncle. I’d soo love to proofread this book!!!
2. ENVY could have been waaaay more explicit. If this book had been written by Dukey or Webster, the dark scenes would not have been fade to black; the crime scenes would have been graphic and detailed.

“You never know who you’ll need at your disposal the day the devil comes knocking for souls, and making friends with everyone gives me a goddamn army.”

Wow so Sebastian is an actual psychopath! But at the same time I felt sorry for him because all he wanted was to be loved. He is dark and twisted, lethal, obsessive and just all kinds of messed up.

The series gets more fucked up as it goes on and I’m eagerly anticipating each book. I was slightly disappointed with the lack of romance aspect in this book though.

That being said...this series is a must read.
It will take you on a ride, mess with your emotions and leave you wanting more.

✨ DREAMY’S REVIEW ✨

A handsome psychopath.
THE handsome psychopath.

“I envied her.”

MY MIND IS BLOWN. ERUPTED. NO WAY OF GETTING PIECED BACK TOGETHER.

WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FVCK.

Seriously. I’m sitting here with my jaw wide open and scratching my damn head wondering WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ?!?

I DID NOT EXPECT THAT. NOTHING. ANY OF IT.

Envy is definitely more on the faster pace of things. It escalated really quick and to where things went... yeah, it got dark. Pretty fucking dark.

The twists... the turns... MY GOD.

With how Wrath ended, so explosive and violent... I thought I’d get some type of closure and answers, and while I did, MORE QUESTIONS ARISED.

*****

But let’s talk about what we do know. . . :)

Sebastian Westbrook is like a loaded gun waiting to pop off.

He is complex. He’s dangerous. He’s a manipulator. He fits his sin to the T. He embodies it. He is ONE with it.

E N V Y.

He is unapologetic about the paths he takes. He will do whatever it takes, even when it’s questionable. He has everything anyone could possibly want, except for one thing.

And that’s his weakness, his vulnerability.

“Seeing someone with something better than me boils my blood. I will not rest until I’ve shown I’m more commendable. That people admire me.”

As you read his book, you continue to see how unhinged he is and he is by far the one you need to keep your eye on. But my love grew for him as the pages turned. His story is addictive and mind-blowing and fast paced. You will devour this quickly, especially with how everything is set up! It exceeds ALL expectations and MORE!

“Lust, Wrath, Pride, Greed, Gluttony—I feel all my brothers sins coursing through me, swirling through me like a tornado ripping everything apart and raining down chaos.”

I didn’t know what to expect or if I should have even expected anything because I’m always blown away by these amazing authors and this well-written series!

Have you joined the Elite? Initiation has already begun. . . Start with LUST, you will not be disappointed!

Five envious and dreamy stars: 💫💫💫💫💫

"Let's just say there is the man I am, and the one I wish I was."

Sebastian Westbrook is not your average Joe. In fact, I thought something was super creepy about him when he was introduced in Wrath. Sebastian was the epitome of envy. He saught, he wanted and he KILLED. This guy was a serious psychopath. But again I am just floored how M.N. wrote this book. Again we get questions answered but she moves the story forward with Sebastian. This book is so necessary and on point. It was a major factor in the series. We begin to see another aspect and it is startling.

Was there sex in this book? Hell yes. Violence, rage and the elite brothers developed as men. In each installment you get a different view point on the most critical element in the last story. It usually starts with the conclusion and or hook of the last book. You are totally off guard. Additionally because different authors are telling this story each book is pivotal, unique and mind blowing. I truly hope authors do more collabs like this it's amazing from the reader perspective. Each installment is fresh and new.

The other critical point is each character is developed by the sin they posses. This process is ingenious and clever. You learn how and what the author means by the sin of the character. That element in each books is fabulous. I never thought envy would be portrayed as Sebastian but it was gritty, dark and perfect.

2.5 - 3 STARS

If you've been following along with this series, prepare yourself for a book that is not like the others. Sebastian matches his sin 100%, he's completely indulgent in every aspect of his life and not going to lie, he terrified me. I can't say that I've been looking forward to his story, but now that I've finished this, I'm a bit at a loss for words.

Now I didn't hate this book, but it definitely sums up to something that I don't tend to read at all. It seems like Forgy has a knack for these kind of reads and she does it so well ... if you're into those.

Envy felt so different than the rest of the books in this series like it almost didn't match up with them at all. I kind of felt disconnected from the series in general and it left me a bit confused on what's going AND what will happen with the rest of the guys whose stories we still have to read. There was a cliffhanger in Wrath and now, Envy. And I'm just wondering what the heck happens now? I have so many more questions that don't exactly pertain to the Elite Seven (as a whole) at all.

Also, I couldn't tell you the last time I read a book that had zero romance. This book definitely brings you inside the dark and psychotic mind of Sebastian and how he became a part of the Elite. It's pretty demented and just absolutely crazy. He's all of that.

The one thing that I wish wasn't happening in every book so far is all the rehashing of everything from getting into the school, the Elite and the series of events that goes on with the other guys. It's becoming a bit redundant and I feel like that's what the first half of the books cover.

Even though this wasn't for me, I'm still 100% invested in this series because I have to know what happens to everyone. I have no idea what will come of Sebastian especially after the way everything ends, but we definitely haven't seen the last of him.

Sebastian is one of a kind.

After his parents died, Sebastian went to live with his uncle, who was not an upstanding citizen. Once he was with his uncle, he never wanted for anything. Except for love. He always wanted to be loved.

When his uncle gave him an ultimatum after an accident, go to college at St. Augustine college and find a way to join the Elite Seven, Sebastian really had no other choice.

Sebastian finds his way into the Elite Seven but it's not all roses for him. And it gets more complicated when he meets Sabella, Sam's sister.

He becomes obsessed with her. He wants her. He wants her to love him. He envies her and the life he wants with her.

What what happens when he finds out she doesn't? What happens when he makes a mistake?

Sebastian is Envy for many reasons you will learn about as you read.

The reason I gave this book 3 stars was because I didn't connect with Sebastian. He was an asshole and there was absolutely no part of him that I liked. Sometimes I like the bad guys, but not this time.

Oooh this series is getting CRRRAZY! Envy just blew me away! I had some strong opinions about Sebastian going into this book, but he was just so much more than I expected! I loved this one. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Ok, this one I was not as much of a fan of. Sebastian is kinda creepy and very stalkerish. However, I am not sure why the Elite have an issue with him. It seems to me that they allow all kinds of crazy perverted things to happen and they just help them cover it up. Sebastian was treated differently in this. They seem to be trying to distance him from the Elites. I am curious if the the other 6 guys know what he has really done. This seems like something that could tear the brotherhood apart and not help them escape the people now controlling them. This is my least favorite book of all of them so far. I am hoping the rest are better.

What a series! MN Forgy has written a a character I love to hate. He’s evil, conniving, and has no thought for anyone else. I don’t know that there will be any turn around for Envy, but I’m curious to find out. On to the next...

Envy indeed

Four and a half stars. Loving the series. So many answers to questions from the last three books and more twists and questions moving forward. So happy these authors are creating such a unique series.

Warning: To avoid spoilers, do not read this review if you have not read the previous books in this series.

An unexpected installment in this series, this author turns up the dark and crazy!

Four books into this series, and so far, things have become a little predictable. That is until this book. Given how book ends, with Sabella missing, and Sebastian looking all sorts of bad, I expected some tension in this book, and the author didn't disappoint.

I'm not going out on a limb her when I say that Sebastian isn't right. He does not think like a normal person. He craves what others have to the point of obsessed. So, his sin is aptly named.

Aside from wanting to join the Elite, Sebastian wants a woman. A woman to love him. To crave him. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but Sebastian has a way of taking things to the creepy level. And he sets his sights on Sabella, Samuel's sister (aka Wrath). As you can imagine, things don't go as well as he'd like. In fact, I was surprised where things led.

With knowing as much as I know right now, I'd classify Sebastian as more of a villain than anti-hero. I don't think this is a character that readers will fall for, and I'm personally ok with that. I loved that the author flipped this series on its head and shook things up.

Without a doubt, this is the darkest installment of the series. I'm more invested in this series than ever and an eager to see where things lead, with Greed by Amo Jones up next.

|| Rant Warning: I never do these but this was such a disappointment, and it has genuinely left me confused!

So I put spoilers on, because I NEVER do these kinds of reviews and thought only those who truly want to know will click to read. But also, considering how hyped and excited I was to read ENVY, I feel like it needs to be said and done!
1. Was this a romance story?
2. Because who is the heroine?
3. 2 maybe 3 sex scenes with (i want to say OW but...) girls who sebastian doesnt end up with.
4. WHO DOES HE END UP WITH?

This felt like such a waste of time tbh. We didnt get any new clues/answers/leads etc (maybe I missed them along the way with the romance?) We don't "pick up" from Wraths cliffhanger until the END of Envy and even then we don't get anything to add to the overall story. I genuinely believe you could skip this completely because you're not missing anything new:
• He doesn't end up with anyone, there isn't even a clear view of who he ends up with. (I'm guessing sabella but....)
• If you've followed the book order, you already knew Sebastian is behind the previous boys completing their tasks. Like the video of Rhett and Chastity being sent to Lillian.
• You just get Sebastians POV of everything that has happened thus far.

I love K Webster, so I'm happy I'm starting Gluttony by her. I only hope I actually get somewhat of a romance, and clear indication the hero ends up with someone. I don't need a HEA but a HFN would be nice at the very least.

UPDATED (10 Aug 2020):
• Sebastion does not end up with Sabella, Micah does. Overall, you could literally skip this book and move onto Gluttony because all that happens in this book that you need to know is—Sabella goes missing because of Sebastian, and he goes into a psych ward. Oh and he was never meant to be Envy, Sebastion actually kills the boy who was meant to be this sin.
• Any and all important information to this series overall storyline is in Lust, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth and Greed. Nothing in Envy.

*I do apologize to anyone I may have offended with this review. I typically don't say anything if I have nothing nice to say. But when you look forward to a book and character, only to be sorely disappointed— it genuinely leaves a bitter taste behind.

Da. Fuq??

No. Seriously.

Da fuq??

That was not at all what I expected, though, to be honest, I really shouldn’t even bother with expectations after how Wrath ended...that “ending” brought out a pretty violent reaction (which I suppose is fitting since it was Wrath’s book) but this on. This one just has me in a state of shock?

I don’t know how to explain it, I’m just kind of mind blown with all that happened in Envy and where things went. It was awesome, gritty, dark and definitely eye opening...but damn...

So, Sabastian aka Envy...

Ok. I’m going to be honest and say that going into this one I wasn’t totally feeling Envy. I mean I was curious to see what his deal was and all that, so the fascination was there, but I seriously wanted to gut him a spoon throughout most of Wrath...and that ending? Yeah. So. NOT my favorite of the Elite and now? He definitely does justice to the description “A Handsome psychopath” no doubt about that, but I actually felt some empathy towards him. There is a ton going on in the head of his, but he, unfortunately, only see what he wants to and that isn’t always a good thing. I’m not sure how I feel about where he ended up (at least thus far) ~ the feelings are many and definitely hit the extremes in some ways ~ but sure am looking forward to getting my hands on the next books in the series to see how it all plays out.

This is my first read by the author and I really enjoyed it. She pulled out all the stops and more and made Sabastian an extremely complex and yet, scarily, relatable character and I give her props for that. As for the crazy that surrounds the Elite, it gets crazier, the truths that come out in this one are definitely game changers and it’ll be a lot of fun to see how they are used in the next three books.

Note: This is not a standalone. You need to read the series in order.

Envy is the fourth book in The Elite Seven series and is definitely more on what I expected from these books, but it lacked in some areas for me.

Envy felt a tad rushed and didn't really elude to anything new going on. We did get some "behind the scenes" on things that had happened in previous books but there was nothing truly new that developed til near the end. However, this book is the only one that truly delves into the actual sin, envy.

Sebastian (Envy) definitely isn't a likeable character. He's got his issues and how he handles them isn't good. Sebastian is truly envious of others and the love they find, especially his elite brothers. And how he deals with his envious thoughts is extremely scary. He has very deep rooted issues and has no control over them.

While we didn't learn anything new in the plot of the overall story, Envy definitely ranks higher on the scales of what I had anticipated in this series and made for a much suspenseful read. There is little to no romance in this book, which for me, actually works. When you are writing about the seven deadly sins, romance really doesn't come to mind.

Overall, it was decent read. I did find myself skimming this one because there wasn't a lot of depth or plot going on, however, I was intrigued as how to Sebastian played a role in everything. I did expect him to play a bigger role overall (and he may still with certain things that happened) but I expected this one to bit a more developed than what we got.

We shall see in the coming books what happens next......
