Community Challenge: Uplift Fremont County
Fremont County communities are set in different landscapes, powered by different industries, and built by people from unique backgrounds working towards shared beliefs in our state and nation. Though our communities have their own traditions and identities, one trait rings true throughout our 9,266 square miles of Wyoming country: a giving and generous spirit. Volunteers fuel each and every one of our communities.
In recognition of National Volunteer Month, Leadership Fremont County (LFC) has partnered with County 10 to increase volunteerism and connect volunteers (like you!) with organizations that could use help.
LFC has developed a comprehensive list of Fremont County non-profits and other organizations that are the backbone of Fremont County’s charitable sector and are seeking volunteers. Simply give them a call and ask how you can help.

Thereafter members typically work 2 or 3 (3 hour) shifts monthly in the SageWest Lander gift shop and attend our 1 hour monthly meeting on 3rd Mondays (September – May).” Numerous perks: free lunches, free training, uniform top provided, recognition gifts from SageWest, 10% personal discount in gift shop.

Not able to volunteer?
Serving your community can take many forms, such as buying a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line or sending flowers to cheer up a living facility.
Here’s some unique ideas to help you spread joy in our community without having to commit to volunteer tasks or time:
• Do some spring cleaning! You can donate old books, clothing, furniture, tools, and more
• Call in a bouquet of flowers for the residents at your local senior living center
• Make a donation to your favorite charity (psst… Good Samaritan Center says they could use help covering operational costs)
• Shovel your neighbors’ sidewalks
• Be the change and Join a cause. If you are passionate about something happening in your community, put your talents to good use and get involved
• Do you love to bake? Bring some baked goods to the ladies or gents at your favorite store
• Pick up trash along the bike path
• Donate non-perishable food items to a MyLittlePantry nearby!
