San Antonio’s Mitchell Meissner fired a 68 on Sunday to win the 109th Texas Amateur Championship Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity.

Going into the final round, Meissner — a recent graduate of Rice University — was tied for third with Austin’s Reese Ramsey.

Meissner was the only golfer to shoot better than a 70 on Sunday to win the tournament by three strokes (73-70-71-68 — 282)

San Antonio’s Levi Valadez — a sophomore at Sam Houston State — finished in second (70-71-72-72 — 285).

San Antonio’s McClure Meissner and Cypress’ Kyle Hogan tied for third with totals of 288.

Houston’s William Moll, who led after the second and third rounds — shot a 78 on Sunday to finish in a tie for fifth with Huntsville’s Chandler Phillips.

Van’s Logan Lockwood, who just completed his sophomore season at Texas State, finished in a tie for 12th (74-71-78-73 — 296).

Tyler’s Clay Hodge, a former Grace Community and Texas A&M golfer, tied for 26th (75-74-74-78 — 301). Also tied with Hodge was Sulphur Springs’ Brody Blackmon (77-72-79-72 — 301), who just completed his sophomore season at Mississippi.

Tyler’s Aaron Hickman, a former TCU golfer, tied for 34th (77-72-84-71 — 304).

Calvin Clyde, a former Grace Community and Texas Wesleyan golfer now residing in Dallas, tied for 38th (77-72-78-79 — 306), along with Tyler’s Brandon Rougeau (75-76-78-77 — 306), who played at Tyler Junior College and just finished his senior season at UT Tyler.

Jacksonville’s Cameron Brown, who just completed his junior year at Oklahoma Christian University after transferring from TJC, finished in 43rd (71-81-78-77 — 307).
