Rangers hero Fernando Ricksen slams online trolls over jokes about him dying of motor neurone disease

FERNANDO Ricksen has slammed online trolls for inflicting pain on his wife with jokes about him dying.

The Rangers hero, 41, revealed constant attacks about his battle with motor neurone disease were distressing for missus Veronika, 32.

He said: “Why would someone think it’s funny that I’m in a wheelchair or joke about me possibly dying? I try not to read the posts, but Veronika does.

"It’s upsetting. It’s sick to read people saying that about your husband.”

Veronika added: “They don’t know how difficult it is to live with someone with MND. It gives me such a punch in the face.”

Defiant Fernando — diagnosed with the terminal condition in 2013 — refuses to let the yobs get him down.

He said: “I need my energy for more important things — to beat MND.”
