2019-2020 Northwest Technical College Scholarship Opportunities

The Northwest Technical College Foundation has announced available 2019-2020 scholarships. The application deadline is May 31 with the exception of the G.W. Neilson Foundation Scholarships which are available until September.

The NTC Foundation manages scholarships for current and new NTC students who are enrolled either part-time or full-time. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $2,500 per semester.

Applicants are required to create an account and take an eligibility quiz for available scholarship opportunities.

Students must then complete a single online application (click here to complete) and a scholarship selection committee will award based on qualifications.

Application Tips

To increase your chances of receiving a scholarship, first type your answers to the essay questions in a Microsoft Word document. Ask someone else to proof your answers. Then cut and paste your final document into the online form. The online form does not offer spellcheck.


Northwest Technical College General Scholarship Fund – ONE $500 scholarship


Paul Bunyan Vintage Auto Club – ONE $500 scholarship


Fred Breen Endowment General Scholarship Fund- FOUR $2000 scholarships

To be considered, applicants must:

  • have resided in Beltrami County for one year prior to enrollment;
  • have completed 12 credits at NTC with a 2.5 grade-point average;
  • be enrolled in 6-course credits at NTC.

G.W. Neilson Foundation Scholarships- TWENTY $1,000 scholarships

To be considered, applicants must:

  • be first-year students at NTC.

Merle and Mildred Rundell Education Fund – oNE $500 scholarship

The Merle and Mildred Rundell Education Fund supports charitable and educational programs, projects and activities, including scholarships for non-traditional students studying nursing or natural resources attending Bemidji State University, Northwest Technical College and Northland Community and Technical College.


Mississippi Headwaters Blood Bank Scholarship Fund – oNE $2500 scholarship

The regional Mississippi Headwaters Blood Bank Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students from Bemidji, Bagley, Blackduck, Cass Lake, Kelliher and Northome high schools, or their successors who pursue an education in a medical field related to hematology or phlebotomy through a college, university or technical school. Preference will be given to students intending to pursue a career in the delivery of blood services to patients.
