PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team is set to compete in its final meet before the 2019 ACC Outdoor Championships this week as they head to the historic Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, PA. The Panthers will be taking part in the 125
th running of the Penn Relays, a meet that will feature the top track and field talent in the country.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
- The meet for the Panthers will begin on Thursday morning at 10:00 am with the College Women's 400m Hurdles Championship. Competition on Thursday will run through the Panthers final event of the day which will be the College Women's 5000m run at 8:40 pm.
- Friday's events will start at 9 am with the College Men's 400m Hurdles Championship and will finish up with the College Women's Sprint Medley Relay College at 6:10 pm.
- The Panthers will complete the meet Saturday, beginning with the College Men's Javelin Throw at 9:00 am and concluding with the College Men's 4x800m Championship of America Invitational at 4:40 pm.

LAST YEAR AT THE PENN RELAYS
- To close out the 2018 edition of the Penn Relays, the quartet of Dante' Watson, Ade Jones-Roundtree, Kenneth Brosier and Lonzell Feagin competed in the meet's premier collegiate event, the College men's 4x400m Championship of America Invitational and finished in eighth place at the historic Franklin Field in a season-best time of 3:08.43.
- In the College Men's 4x800m Championship of America Invitational, the team of Dante' Watson, Billy Caldwell, Drew Glick and Matt McGoey finished in 11th place in 7:32.30.
- Ade Jones-Roundtree, Noah Cook, Lonzell Feagin and Jabari Michael-Khensu placed eighth in the men's 4x100m College Final with a time of 41.22.
- In the first section of the men's javelin throw, redshirt sophomore Grant Jones placed sixth with a mark of 63.20m. In the championship, freshman Noah Walker placed 10th at 59.56m.
- On the women's side, the team of Morgan Harvey, Nikki Scherer, Laila Ismail and Desiree Garland finished third in the college section of the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:38.20.
- The team of Emily Burd, Erin O'Connell, Ally Brunton and Mikaela Vlasic placed seventh in the 4x800m college section with a season-best time of 9:13.29.
LAST TIME OUT
- Junior Nick Wolk etched his name in the Pitt record books with a career best run in the 5000m run. The junior crossed the finish line in 14:03.28, breaking a 28-year old school record that was previously held by Keith Dowling in 1991. The run for Wolk broke his previous personal best time by 13 seconds in the event.
- The lone Panther to collect a victory at the Virginia Challenge was junior Taylor Middleton who claimed gold in the long jump with a personal best leap of 6.23m (20'7.75"), the fourth best jump in program history.
- Aysha Muhammad had her best run of the season in the 100m hurdles as she posted a personal best time of 13.72 seconds, the second fastest in school history.
- The Panthers saw both of their women's relay squads take home second place finishes at Virginia. The 4x100m quartet of Taylor Middleton, Nikki Scherer, Danielle Leaks and Jaylyn Aminu finished right behind the winning team of Virginia in 46.33 seconds. The 4x400m team of Nikki Scherer, Nina Crawford, Flora Ahiarakwe and Sydni Townsend also finished in second place in 3:43.95.
UP NEXT
- The Panthers will now have a week off to prepare for the 2019 ACC Outdoor Championships in Charlottesville, VA from May 9-11. The Virginia Cavaliers will play host to the 2019 version of the outdoor championships at Lannigan Field.
