Honestly, this book was a bit of a hot mess. This couple had ZERO chemistry. Aria started out as a likable heroine but then turned into some weird alcoholic. Plus, I didn't understand why she was marrying her ex when all she did was talk badly about him. How he mistreated her. How he has a small dick. She didn't seem to like the guy even BEFORE she found out he was cheating, so why exactly did she stay with him for SIX years? Roman was OK, but his character came off formal and stiff. Plus, without a POV from him, he felt very one dimensional, and he came across as an overbearing stalking psychopath.

description

On top of that, this book was all over the place storywise. Like Aria has an issue with Roman being wealthy, but her ex fiancee played for the Chicago Cubs and was wealthy. Inconsistencies like she says she barely ever had sex with David but then says "he was probably tired from having sex with two women on the regular". She makes plans to meet a good friend for dinner, but no one wonders what happened to her when she doesn't show up? There were also times when they have the same conversation twice. Like Roman telling Aria his father is dead and a few chapters later they have the same conversation (his father being dead). Or the fact that all of a sudden she doesn't like flying, but she flew with no issues at the beginning of the book. Another thing, there are only seven seasons of Game Of Thrones, not ten...sigh. These are things that should have been caught by a decent BETA reader at the very least. Last, we find out near the end that the heroine So yea, this book didn't work for me on any level.

Melody Eve has penned a wonderful emotional journey that begins with relief and a lucky escape (and a pretty genius act of revenge) It opens on Aria Savage's wedding day the scene is set but the bride is carrying a secret that has caused her to feel shocked and betrayed. Humiliated but not heartbroken. A well choreographed exit ensues and Aria goes off on what is to be a solo honeymoon to Mexico. The first night there she meets Roman. A sexy stranger determined to show her a good time and prevent her from moping in the hotel room and drinking the contents of the mini bar.

Anyway, enough of the story, I've given you enough to whet your appetite and if you want more then you will do the sensible thing and dash to Amazon and click buy now ( or take advantage of your Kindle Unlimited membership and snap this up!) you will not regret it if you like the following:
Genuine characters
Alpha males that are still decent people.
Fabulous female characters that you can't help but like.
People who are flawed therefore believable.
Sexy time with just the right amount of detail.
A solid well crafted story-line with substance and an interesting back story.
Enough! You get it. I really enjoyed this book and consider myself hugely privileged to have received an arc copy by Melody Eve and Social Butterfly PR in exchange for my honest review.

Best thing... there is more to come in this series. I shall impatiently wait! I cannot wait to read more of Melody Eve's talented penmanship in the future.

This was an interesting read. The storyline grabbed me when I read the synopsis.

It was a quick read....which kind of made the character relationship quick but I thought the author did a good job of developing that relationship.

This story was, without a doubt, a roller coaster of emotions and drama. It was one thing after another but I simply wanted more of this couple. In any ways I believe that Roman and Aria's relationship was a healthy one, they were from one extreme to the other in seconds but was entertaining to read.

***** ARC Generously Provided By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review *****

This is the first book in the duet by Melody Eve and also her debut novel, and what a debut! I already know she has great taste as an avid reader but I can't wait to read more from her as an author now too!

Him and I focuses on our heroine Aria and is written from her POV. Aria has found out her MLB player of a fiancé has been cheating on her and leaves him at the alter on their wedding day. Aria decides to go it alone on what would have been their honeymoon to make it a one woman pity party.

We meet Roman our hero when Aria is trying to convince the staff to fend off her phone calls while she is on her one woman honeymoon. Aria is instantly attracted to the gorgeous man in front of her, admiring how he takes charge and offers a dinner invitation on day one of her trip. At first Aria isn't convinced; but maybe a fling is exactly what she needs to forget the humiliation she has been through. Here on out begins our new found love affair with Roman and Aria, and they certainly sucked me in for the ride!

Aria for me was a really relatable heroine, she is a woman who dresses for comfort and not to look good, she is feisty with a bit of a hot temper, an independent and focused woman, wealth doesn't impress or drive her and she loves reading and owns her own book store (I mean dream job or what?!).

Roman is just a swoon worthy man, a very wealthy CEO, with rich family values but doesn't outwardly flaunt it; however he likes to treat the people he cares for well. He loves to be in control in and out of the bedroom; but with Aria he asserts himself and it's clear he does this for all the right reasons - he is besotted with her. For me when this is so evident it just makes me swoon for the Hero so hard and Roman shows his devotion by the bucket load!

Aria and Roman's chemistry was great, a good balance between two people spending time together and some hot sex! Mix Roman's need to control with Aria's willingness to submit; but throw in some of her defiance along the way to keep him on his toes (the beach scene being my favourite, bloody loved it!) and they make for a great fictional couple in my eyes.

Melody's writing makes for easy reading, her flow and articulation is great for visualising her characters and settings as you read. The tone and pace of the novel was fantastic, it wasn't all rainbows and sparkles there were little hiccups along the way, as there should be for 2 people who have a strong chemistry and have only know each other a matter of days. Melody also adds in some secondary characters that made me opinionated about them and I want more, Douchebag David (Aria's Ex Fiancé) for one and Leeza (Roman's sister) I hope to see them again in book 2.

As the story progresses I began to wonder what was hiding in Roman's or Aria's past that hadn't been revealed yet, little subtleties started to peek out. I was so swept along for the ride with Aria I found myself enjoying learning it all as it happened. I will say that there were some great reveals that make you question what is going on, and how real what has gone on really is, brilliant twists to amp up the drama and emotional pull on my heartstrings - Bravo!

I have been quite critical on my reads this year and this is one of my favourites so far! I can't wait to see what Melody will bring us for book 2 and beyond, I have a feeling she has so much more to tell!

Him & I is the debut novel for Melody Eve and I did enjoy it. This is the first book in the duet and the storyline was interesting. This insta-love novel took you on a journey with Roman and Aria. They were complexed well-developed characters who had some great chemistry and they really balance out each other with how different they were.
There were lots of steamy scenes throughout the novel and some twists and turns in this story which will shock you but will keep you hooked until the end.
I'm curious to see where the author will go with this story so I will read the second book to see how it all ends. This was a good read for a debut novel. It was a quick and easy read and I will recommend it.

Shelved as 'did-not-finish'

I couldn't finish this one. The characters were not that likable to begin with, and their actions continually got worse.

Here are a few of their bad deeds:
-Roman "punishes" Aria with a sexual act and it felt icky
-Aria gets drunk and falls asleep in the sun without sunscreen or a covering! Asking for cancer
-Aria continues to drink and drink - kind of worried about her liver here
-Roman gets mad at Aria when she isn't happy he "kidnapped" her

That's enough for me and I was out. DNF @ 56%

So, I received this ARC through Enticing Journey Book Promotions. I saw the author name and thought wow that sounds super familiar. Then I read the description and was like yep, I'm definitely reading/reviewing that. I'm gobbling this book up faster than my eyes can comprehend thinking dang this is so good. I finish the book and then look up the author. I was SHOCKED to not find a single book out there by her on Amazon. Stalked her on Goodreads. Went to her website. GIRLFRIEND. This is your debut novel? It's fan-freaking-tastic! So I stalk you some more and see your biggest influence is the one and only Jodi Ellen Malpas and I smirk so hard I think my face cracks. I LEGIT thought "Dang, this guy has stalker-ish/obsessive qualities like Jesse from the This Man series". OMG. Loved it.

Story Line: Aria's over the top, totally orchestrated walk out on her wedding day kicks off this book. She's walking down the aisle basically saying sorry to her dad as he gives her away to the schmuck we all know as David the dirtbag now. Except Aria has learned David can't keep it in his pants and decides to give every single guest at their ceremony proof. SLAY GIRL. So, what does she do? She goes to Mexico on their honeymoon alone. Enter Roman. Delicious suit with gorgeous eyes lined with gray. OMG I will fantasize about those eyes for days-weeks-years. Who cares. So hot.

Roman and Aria hit it off. She fights her feelings because hello. She's only been single 24 hours and she just left her fiance at the alter. But Roman, typical alpha male that he is, isn't having it. So he rocks her world. She rocks his world. Next thing you know, this man is crazy possessive, making future plans like he's Jesse Ward or something. God, I lived that about Roman. He was a little nutty when it came to his alpha-ness. And of course Aria gives him so much sass which just fuels his fire. They are explosive together.

Interaction: Oh Roman. You sexy beast. He's so matter of fact with his feelings. I love it. He could be saying some batty stuff to Aria about their future (you know, after being together less than a week) and would have a completely straight face. And Aria, she puts him in place. So perfect. Would I say their communication is perfect? God no. But they work through their issues really freaking well. Obviously, Roman being Roman, he uses laundry as a means to get his way and honestly, who's complaining? Aria? Uh, no. Me? Absolutely not.

Laundry: Sweet baby Jesus with a baseball bat. FIRE. These two are on fire. So hot. Roman works Aria's body like a beautiful instrument. The man knows exactly what he's doing. I mean, come on. She gets super sun burnt and he still knows how to bring his A game to the laundry mat. WHO DOES THAT? It's like Melody dreamed up my perfect man and wrote this story just for me. That saucy minx.

Depth: So, Roman has some serious demons. Like DEEP. First of all, the story of his father's passing? Broke my heart. I had tears streaming down my face. And then the story that happened two months later? DUDE. I just want to give you a huge bear hug AND YOU'RE NOT EVEN A REAL PERSON. Roman fights through all of the hurt and pain from his past and locks on to Aria and refuses to let go. And thank GOD she feels the same connection he does. So, the burning question is this - happily ever after? Absolutely. However, at the end of this book, I was like wait? Where's my epilogue? Where's my fast forward button? I didn't want it to end!

This book was fantastic! You won't be disappointed. It is a quick read - perfect for a summer night :)

Holy packed with emotions, intensity and so much more! The concept alone was brilliant and I found I had a hard time putting this book down. For a debut novel, I am honestly blown away at it’s epicness! My heart shattered for Aria. I could only imagine what it would be like to have what happened to her occur. Though I felt she handled it with grace and poise even though a little crazy. Then to go on her honeymoon, on her own?!?! Totally an epic way to say screw you to the jerk! Enter Roman. Who right from the start is totally enamored with Aria and their pull towards each other was intense. Then as their journey continues, things unravel and things are exposed. I found myself so intrigued yet shocked at the lengths things were done. The way it was played out was written brilliantly and I found myself so engrossed in this story I could not put it down.
Overall, the fact that this is a debut story?!?! BLEW MY SOCKS OFF! It was amazing and brilliant and so many other words that come to mind! I loved the build, the passion, the twists that were tossed in. I am seriously dying for more! Honestly, when is book two coming out?!?!?! I highly recommend taking a chance on this debut author! You will not be disappointed and I hope will leave you begging for more like me!

HIM & I by Melody Eve is the story of Roman and Aria.
I think this is the first book by this author and I hope that it will be one of many to come.
I really enjoyed this story!!
Aria was in a long term relationship but just before the marriage she was sent pictures of her future husband and her best friend doing things they shouldn't have been doing. So she waited until the wedding day to get her revenge...then she went on the honeymoon alone.
There she happens to meet Roman in the hallway and he tries to get her to go out with him but she tries to tell him that she just wants to be alone but he isn't take no for an answer.
Roman knows what he wants and she is it ...it would appear. Aria starts to learn more about Roman that he likes control and that he happens to work/live in her area. The more she tries to make him understand that she isn't ready for a relationship the more he tells her that he understands...but does he?
Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. I went in hunt for more of her books only to find this one...can't wait for the next installment in their story.

Wow, wow, wow! What a helluva introduction to a new author!

Him & I is the debut novel from Melody Eve.  I am an avid reader and newly minted blogger so I can say with confidence that this author is going to be huge!

This is the story of Aria and Roman.  This is a page turner!

Aria has been burned badly (in the figurative sense) and is running away from it all to lick her wounds in private.  She thought she had everything she wanted, she was willing to "settle" for what she had before it blew up in her face.

Roman, oh my me! Obsessive, stalkerish, over the top alphas are my weakness and he checked all the boxes! He too has had some bad things happen to him in the past, and it has made him into the man he is today.

This story isn't just about "insta-love", it's got some twists and turns and you get little nuggets of information which make you scream for more, more, more! Ms. Eve doles those little nuggets out slowly.  Make sure you take in all the words and savor them so you don't miss a thing!

I hope to read more about some secondary characters and I loved the surprise at the end.  You are a dirty, dirty tease Melody! I love it!

This is a must read, get your grabby hands on it!

Congratulations Melody Eve, I see a bright future ahead of you and I will be stalking you in the future (in a healthy, respectful way!!).  Cannot wait to read what you put out next!!

What is it about books that start with the heroine catching her boyfriend or husband cheating on her that I just can’t help but keep on turning the page; before I know it I am almost halfway through the book. This is the author’s debut novel and I am very impressed with her work.

Aria is a struggling bookshop owner and when she found out that her fiancé cheated on her, her glorious revenge might be over the top but it sure made me want to give her a fist bump. Escaping the unwelcome attention from family and friends, she went away on holiday and meets the perfect rebound guy: handsome, rich and single. But is he all that he seems?

Roman comes across as the ideal man. Fate must have played a hand when he and Aria met at the resort he wanted to buy. He almost seems like the perfect package except for his controlling ways. Is he too good to be true and is he keeping any secrets from Aria?

I truly enjoyed reading this author’s first book. The well-developed characters and storyline make this an enjoyable read. There are some parts of the book that reminds me a bit of another author’s well-known character, each chapter draws you deeper into Aria and Roman’s story. All throughout this tale when everything was going too smoothly and too perfect, I thought surely a dark cloud must be looming on the horizon and I was right! Theirs is like a fairy tale story but we all know that in every fairy tale there is the evil troll lurking in the shadows, Roman’s secrets are certainly some of them. If Roman and Aria want their happy ending they need to address some issues and we hardly get that in this book. This book doesn’t end in a cliff-hanger but leaves you wanting to know the rest of their story in book two. I cannot wait!

After extracting a great revenge on her fiancé and best friend, Aria takes off to enjoy her honeymoon by herself to lick her wounds and recover in her own misery, but she isn't given the chance with the handsome as sin, slightly overbearing Roman waltzes into her life refusing to let her sulk alone. While she fights him throughout the two form a genuine connection mixed with off the charts sexually chemistry that is a sure fire win. I loved reading this story and its characters were a fun way to lose myself in a story, really looking forward to the next installment to see what is to come!

Melody does a wonderful job telling a great love story. You meet Aria after she’s put through a day of devastation. She decides to take a trip, by herself, and ends up meeting Roman, a hot, sexy, controlling in and out of the bedroom kind of man. He knows how to make Aria feel good with his words, his look and definitely his sizzling touch. If you like crazy, hot sex then this is a definite read! It will not disappoint. Roman and Aria’s chemistry is flaming hot. I was left wanting more, which is a good thing because there is another book to come. There’s more to this story to be told, things going on that you’ll want to find out the answers to.

Him & I by Melody Eve

This is the first book for this author, and I can’t wait to read the next.
Great story and well written, I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. (Thank you sunny bank holiday Monday! 🇬🇧)

After Aria receives some compromising photos of her soon to be husband David, she seeks revenge in a most amazing fashion.
She leaves a copy of the photo under everyone’s chair at the church, leaving her unsuspecting cheating fiancé at the alter. She decides she is still going to take their honeymoon to Mexico alone, to get over him. And get over him she’s does!

The plan of being holed up, drinking herself in to oblivion, getting a tan for the two weeks she’s there falls apart after she bumps into a mystery stranger, Roman. A super hot, wealthy, CEO, control freak. He takes Aria under his wing, determined to make her forget her ex fiancés name in the only way he knows how. But he’s not without his flaws, he harbors a secret and it’s a big one!

A sweet, sexy and easy to read contemporary romance...

I love discovering new authors, and a debut author is even sweeter. I hadn't heard anything about Melody Eve before the option to review came up, and that's no surprise considering Him & I is her debut. As far as debuts go, I liked it and it was a good read. I think the story itself has a lot of promise, and in my opinion had it gone a little deeper and had the story been drawn out a little more, I would've loved this book.

The characters themselves are really likeable and I found myself wanting to know more about them. There is a slight nod to the control facet of BDSM, but unfortunately for me it fell a little flat. I didn't fell like I got to understand the hero, Roman, well enough to know where his need for control was coming from. You do get a glimpse into his tragic backstory, but if I'm honest, it wasn't enough to explain that need for me. Saying that, this is book one and solely from the heroine's perspective, so perhaps we will get to know him a lot better in book two. The heroine, Aria, I really liked her but she was a little too easy and wet for me at times. Her resolves so easily shaken that they didn't marry well with the rest of her feisty and strong character. I know love makes you see things differently, but come on...after her stunt at the beginning, I did not expect her to be so easily swayed by certain events and the lacklustre explanations for them.

Like I said before the plot itself has so much potential, but it kind of just felt too reined in and just when I thought things were going to blow...they fizzled out. Saying that, this is a debut. This author has a unique voice that draws you in and over time, I think that she may well go far. One thing that I didn't like was the nods to Fifty Shades. For me it felt too cringe and if I'm honest, the feel of the story is a little too similar on the creep scale to make those mentions even remotely enjoyable. Honestly, I wished that the author had just not done it, it wasn't needed. For me it took away from the book.

There were also a couple of things that really irritated me—I just couldn't understand how they were boarding a private jet in Mexico, heading all the way across the world and still managed to have freshly prepared steaks from a restaurant in Chicago. For me that was a massive inconsistency and although the gesture was sweet...it just didn't make sense to me. I understand this is fiction, but I just couldn't get my head around it. Sorry. There also seems to be a lack of boundaries. Even legal ones. I don't know, for a successful and smart businessman, Roman makes some pretty dodgy decisions. Just saying.

The ending for me could've done with a real cliffhanger. It all felt too easily resolved for the ending that it came to, even with the promise of another part to the story. But hey, that is personal preference. Nothing more. AND, this is a debut—not everything is going to be A-okay or perfect.

I think this is a good read for fans of Fifty Shades, and even for those that like an easy read. In fact, I think that readers will enjoy this story. I enjoyed a lot of it, there were just parts that needed tweaking.

Overall this is a valiant debut, and I really do want to read the next book if only to get to know Roman more and maybe see that spark and fight that Aria seemed to lose somewhere in this part.

description

Melody Eve is a new author to me. I'm so glad I took a chance on her and her writing because I absolutely enjoyed it. OMG! This was such a uniquely amazing story line and plot. I loved every second of it. This story pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. It was heartfelt, passionate, steamy, hot, mysterious and I loved witnessing Roman and Aria's love and falling for each other. I can't wait for the second book.

Roman Ferris is dominant, obsessive, commanding, mysterious, but also persistent, handsome, swoon worthy man with the secrets of his own and a fair share of painful past. He is a very wealthy CEO, but so down to earth, he doesn't flaunt his wealth or is an asshole because of it. He loves to be in control and is loving and caring person, especially for people he loves.I love how he is with his family: mother and sister and how he treats them. It's obvious the love they share. I loved how honest and open he is, and that he wears his feelings on a sleeve.

Aria Savage is struggling bookshop owner. I loved her and I could definitely relate with her. She's loving, caring, determined, stubborn, feisty, sassy, down to earth person/woman who knows what she wants; but is jaded from her previous relationship and struggles to trust. She is also afraid to love again because of that.

I loved Roman and Aria, their connection, pull, chemistry, the desire, need and protectiveness. It's really beautiful to witness their love and how Roman was fighting for her and make her see that they are meant to be. I really couldn't get enough of them. Loved how they just fit and how he wanted to make all of her dreams true. Their flirty banter was the best. Both are so stubborn and determined. I didn't like that he was a little possessive and stalker-ish but I understand his point of view after I read about his past. They are each other's match. I loved that Aria put him in place when he deserved it. I would like to see them communicating more, though.

It's not just about the insta-love, it's more then that: it is a page turner with some mystery, twists and turns.; secrets, family values and giving a love second chance.

I wish there were an epilogue and Roman's POV because I wanted to know his thoughts in certain situations but I absolutely LOVED and ADORED it. The writing made reading easy. It was well written and well developed. I was stunned to discover that this is Melody's first novel, 'cause she writes with such emotion and passion.

A must read! HIGHLY recommend this book.

„Him & I” is the debut novel by Melody Eve and after reading this book i know I will definitely need to read more by this author cause this is very very good debut. This is first book in the duet so now I just can’t wait for part two.
This book focuses on Aria and is written from her point of view. When she found out that her fiancé has been cheating on her she leaves him at the alter on their wedding day and decides to go alone on what would have been their honeymoon alone.
We meet Roman when Aria tries to convince hotel staff to fend her calls while she is on her single woman honeymoon. She is instantly attracted to the handsome man in front of her when she admirers how he took charge and offers her a dinner invitation on the first day of her trip. At first she isn’t convinced, but maybe that’s just what she needs to forget all the humiliation. So here begins new steamy affair which will consume you so much you won’t be able to put the book down until it’ll end.
Aria is finally my kind of heroine. She is feisty with a bit of a hot temper. She is independent and focused, wealth doesn’t impress her, she loves reading and she has my dream job cause she owns her own book store.
Roman is handsome, very wealthy CEO. He has rich family values but doesn’t outwardly flaunt it, but at the same time he likes to take care about the people he cares for well. He loves control in and out of the bedroom but with Aria things are little different cause he seems to be really besotted with her.
Chemistry between them is really great, there is great balance between them while spending time together with addition of the really hot sex. Mix of Roman’s need to control and Aria’s willingness to submit with the little mix of defiance and you got yourself the perfect mix.
After finishing this book I wonder what is still to come in part two. What both of our heroes pasts hide that was not revealed and which peaks we got in this book. That were some great revealings that I didn’t know what happened and needed to read further to know what will happen next. Melody has this power to pull at your heartstrings with amazing twists in order to amp up the drama and emotional pulls.
I am really curious to see where the author will go further with this story and I can’t wait for the time when I’ll be able to finally read book two. I totally recommend this whole duet and story to all of you. You will be in for quite a ride.

Reviewed on Behalf of 3 Degrees of Fiction Book Blogs

This is Melody Eves debut book and first the first book in a series that I am very much looking forward to also reading.

Him and I is about Aria and is written from her point of view. Aria found out her fiancé has been cheating on her just weeks from her wedding day and plots a plan to leave him at the alter on her wedding day. Aria decides to also go alone on their honeymoon to give her the space and time she needs to heal.

Roman helps Aria when she first arrives at the hotel and they are instant,y attracted to each other and when he offers her dinner she can’t resist saying yes but she is also cautious and shields her heart.

Aria is a great heroine that quite a few people can relate to as she is a woman that’s not bothered by brands and just dresses for comfort. She is also independent and has a quick temper, money doesn’t impress her nor is it her focus and is happy with her little book store.

Roman is a CEO and comes from a wealthy fa,ily but this does not effect the way he feels about people and has been brought up with big family values. He also likes being in control both in and out the bedroom.

Aria and Roman’s chemistry was one of my favourite aspects of the book it was a great balance between them spending time together and hot steamy sex. With a mix of control and willingness to submit but also defiance they make a great couple.

Melody’s writing is also easy to read and the flow means that you can imagine yourself there whilst reading. The tone and pace of the book was great as it wasn’t all happy and there was issues along the way which is what you expect with the amount of time the characters have known each other. The secondary characters Melody added was great and I hope we see them again in book 2.

Writing comes easily to some authors and I believe that Melody Eve is one of those.
Her debut book, Him and I is proof of how easily she can capture my attention.

The book starts off at a run and just kept moving at a steady pace which made it grueling when I had to stop and continue on with daily life.
It begins with Aria finding out her scumbag ex has been sleeping around on her. She enacts revenge on a epic level that had me laughing. Okay, not so nice but who can thinking clearly in that situation.
She decides to get away on what would have been her honeymoon to drown herself in sun, liquor and self pity. Don't get me wrong, Aria is a lot stronger than I'm making her sound. The strength it took to walk away is not easy. She is a business owner and has a really big heart.

The meeting of Roman is almost unreal. He is an enigma. It took me a very long time to figure him out and even then I was off base on my assumptions. Without giving anything away, I'll just say that at times he was like a storybook prince and other times really creepy. There is so much to this man.

As I have said the story moves at a very steady yet quick pace. I don't feel it's an instant love story. More like a quick hot attraction that builds rather quickly. The author gives great details when needed which has me reeled in and eager for the second part. How wonderful is it when a debut author finds her place in her very first novel? I can and will highly recommend this book.
There are so many levels of romance going on here, so I believe that all levels of romance readers will be attracted to this book.

Aria and Roman

Sunday 27th May 2018 to 27th May 2018

Aria is getting revenge on her fiancé for cheating on her with her maid of honour/best friend! She's hurt, so she goes on her honeymoon alone, where she plans to hide out and get drunk and be by herself but a mystery man hijacks all her plans!
Roman is at the Coconut Bay Resort for business! He's overbearing, bossy and a little cocky!! He takes over everything to do with Aria's planned hide out! He won't allow her to wallow and promises he'll help her forget all about her cheating fiance!!
I really liked this book. I loved how Aria got her revenge. It was beautiful and funny! She deserved better than she got!
Roman was way to much of a control freak, at first I thought he was way too controlling for someone who is supposed to only be having a fling. As the book goes on, he does more underhanded things. I understood why Aria got as angry as she did but I wanted her to hang onto some of that anger not give in as soon as he touched her! That annoyed me to no end. By I also understood his logic, even if was manipulation on his part.
There is something about Roman though that raised a few concerns and I was shocked at a few things he'd done.

They were perfect for each other! He needed someone who challenged him, and Aria was perfect for it.

This book does end up on a sort of cliff hanger, so be prepared!! It's a duet, so I can't wait to see where their story ends!

4.5 stars!

Absolutely freaking amazing story for a debut book it is everything in a nutshell. Wow just wow I didn't want this book to end I loved it sooo much. What would you do if you found out your fiance your about to marry in 2 wks has been cheating on you with your bridesmaid and she's your best friend....you plan a surprise/revenge then you go on your honeymoon alone that's how Aria finds herself in Cancun and a handsome stranger Roman coming to her rescue who's offering her fun, sun & a lil relaxation wink wink she thinks why not that have a fling and just maybe she can forget what happened. Oh my gosh that beach seen was the best my mouth dropped with that scene. (Absolutely brilliant!) oh my lord this was such a good book. I cannot wait to see who Melody writes about in book 2.

I just loved Aria she is feisty, loyal and honest and so smart and after her heating ex she now has trust issues. Now Roman he is just all kinds of sexiness on a stick you have to give it to him for being tenacious and not giving up even when things from his past could have made him give it all up. He knew him and Aria were destined to be together now he just has to convince her. This is one book you won't be able to put down or you'll miss something because it is a whirlwind of a romance. I absolutely recommend getting this book and you to will fall in love with these character's.

This is my unbiased opinion and my review.

A different kind of second chance romance.

Usually when we think of second chance romances in books we usually think it’s a story about ex’s who found each other again. But to me this is a different and unique approach to second chance love.

We learn that Aria was cheated on right away, she lost her chance of a HEA before her wedding. She becomes a little cynical when it comes to the opposite gender. I mean who wouldn’t after what happened? She thought she loved ex douchecanoe at that time. Then we learn Roman’s past. It’s completely heartbreaking. He too closes himself off from love.

When these two meet, sparks fly! Insta connection there. Their chemistry was off the charts!! But we also start seeing a couple cracks here in there. His dominance and controlling mannerisms can be seen as a turn off. We do learn why he’s like that, and it’s a valid reason completely. But can also be described as unhealthy and toxic. Now with Aria, what she did in the beginning was epic!! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! She was feisty and independent. But as the book progressed she didn’t stick up for herself much. Thats a huge letdown since she started so strong. That would be my only complaint and why this is 4 Stars.

Steamy factor was off the charts good!! Although in some plot lines, things can change. Along with unnecessary details in some scenes it was an enjoyable read.

I’m not really sure how to review this book. There was some things that I liked and the. Some things I really struggled with. Roman and Aria were pretty much an instalove type gong and I didn’t have an issue with that. I thought it was sweet and predictable but cute. The banter between the two was great also. The sex was hot and I love that Roman could be domineering, but at the same time he was caring.

Now on to a few of my issues... I Disappointed that the blurb led me to believe that we would be in his head in the book, at least a little bit as the story went on it was hard to connect and really feel sympathy towards him even when we find out about his past. I needed to be in his head. It wouldn’t have really messed up the story if we had been in his head some. Also, Some things didn’t add up, like she was supposed to meet someone for dinner and had an accident but there was no follow up on either of their end, it had me wondering the whole way through.

The end of the book said this will be a duet..... but it was an ending for them. I guess the author can draw out more and add more drama to their lives. I’m not sure right now if I will read it or not. This is this authors first book and I would be willing to read more because she’s very creative, I’m just not sure if I want more about these characters. 3 stars #2OCCJD

Him & I had all the interesting, swoon worthy aspects of a good romance book but it lacked in several areas. I felt the beginning was a great opening and immediately had me hooked/wanting to know what was next but it was super rushed. I'm all for two characters quickly falling in love but the way Aria and Roman started off just didn't make sense to me and was super unrealistic. To be fair, it is a romance book and there are a lot of romance books were similar things happen like in Him & I but there was just something off and lacking with this one.

That being said, Him & I is a great story about starting over and falling love. It is well written but there were some gray areas where I wish more there was descriptive writing. Roman is every romance readers dream even with his secrets and rough edges, he's funny too which I always appreciate in an alpha male. Aria is very likeable and interesting, a great heroine any reader would admire; plus her last name is Savage I mean come on!

Overall Him & I by Melody Eve was a great debut romance read but definitely needed some fine tuning here and there. Eve has a bright future ahead of her and I look forward to watching her grow as a writer.

This story had me hooked from the first chapter. Aria knew as she walked down the aisle, her fiance had cheated with her best friend. I thought, "NO Way." Is she still going to marry him? But that scene, of what she did...(don't want any spoilers here) was epic!! Not that I want to be cheated on, but I would sooo do that.

She takes off on the honeymoon...alone of course and meets sexy Roman. Ah... he's HOT, Rich, and mysterious. Aria is only here to forget about what happened and what happens with Roman, stays here. But that is not what Roman wants. He's fine with being the REBOUND MAN. She gives him one week, and then it's back to New York. Except Roman has other plans when they board his private jet. The more she tries to leave him, the tighter Roman holds her close. She loves his bossy manner, especially in bed, yet feels a bit leery of how much he knows about her, her business, her favorite food and other personal things in Aria's life.

I was curious about Roman's ulterior motives and was begging for his intent to be true. I was pushing for them all the way and can't wait for book 2.

Sarah Puckett narrated the characters flawlessly and gave Aria such personality, such as funny, condensing, and very skeptical. Great Job, Melody Eve!!! I will be diving into book 2 for more of Roman and Aria's story.

Him and I by Melody Eve is the first book in her Together Duet.
What a amazing story for a debut book . This book is everything - in a nutshell. Wow just wow I didn't want this book to end I loved it that much. What would you do if you found out your fiance your about to marry in 2 weeks has been cheating on you with your best friend annd bridesmaid; you plan a surprise/revenge then you go on your honeymoon alone. That's how Aria finds herself in Cancun and a handsome stranger - Roman - is coming to her rescue and he´s offering her fun, sun and a bit more. She thinks why not, This was such a good book. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this duet, You & Me. I just loved Aria´s character - she is feisty, loyal and honest. Roman he is just all kinds of hotness on a stick you have to give it to him for being tenacious and not giving up even when things from his past could have made him give it all up. He knew him and Aria were destined to be together now he just has to convince her. This is one book you won't be able to put down or you'll miss something because it is a whirlwind of a romance. Him & I (Together Duet #1), Melody Eve's debut novel, is a contemporary, erotic, billionaire romance told from a single POV. Although this is the first part of a duet, it is a complete story that does not end in a cliffhanger.

Aria has just left her cheating fiancee at the altar after taking revenge by publicly exposing his infidelity to all the wedding guests. She goes on her honeymoon to Cancun alone and plans to spend her time drinking and wallowing in her hotel room. But Aria has caught the eye of a wealthy guest, Roman, who overheard the reason for her trip and he refuses to let her stay cooped up in her room. Aria and Roman quickly enter into a sexual relationship. She is hesitant to see it as anything more than a rebound, but he is "all in" and very persistent about pursuing things further.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and thought it was a good debut. There were a few errors and some editing continuity issues, but the story drew me in enough that I easily bypassed them. I enjoyed Aria as a character, but Roman kind of creeped me out. He was just so possessive and stalkery. The story was intriguing with some twists and big secrets revealed. I'm interested in reading the other half of the duet.
