Gun 101 is a 3.5 hour course designed to give those with no firearms experience a brief introduction. The class consists of 2 hours of instruction and 1 hour of range time, and covers the following topics:- Basic firearm safety- Types of firearms (rifles, shotguns, handguns) and applications for each- Firearm handling and operation- Common firearm malfunctions and how to fix them- Basic cleaning & maintenanceAt the range, students will be able to get hands-on experience with a rifle, shotgun, revolver, and semi-automatic handgun (5 rounds for each firearm provided). Students with their own firearms are encouraged to bring them (along with ammunition) so that they can get practice with their own gun. Extra ammunition for range guns can be purchased for an additional fee.Teens ages 13 and up may attend with a parent.
