THIS is the amazing moment Jermain Defoe left a young girl speechless after turning up at her home to sign a Rangers shirt.

The Ibrox ace rocked up to 10-year-old Amber Smith's home after gifting her his matchworn jersey following Gers' win over Hamilton earlier this month.

Ibrox season ticket holder Amber was left stunned as she opened the door to her Light Blues hero and it was the perfect birthday gift after she turned 10 today.

The surprise knock on the door was organised by family friend Amanda McNamara, who knew it would be a dream come true for the youngster.

Speaking exclusively to the Scottish Sun, Amanda said: "Rangers SLO Greg Marshall arranged for Amber to meet her favourite player Defoe after the Hamilton game.

"He came over to say hi, and ended up giving her his shirt, which he didn't have to do.

"I know the family, so arranged for him to come and sign the shirt for her. Her reaction was just amazing!

"She was so shocked, which is understandable - her favourite player was standing on her doorstep!

"It was a complete dream come true, she couldn't quite believe he was in her house!"

After signing his shirt Defoe chatted to young Amber along with her mum Lauren and dad Derek.

The former England striker discussed life in Glasgow, football and his past career in England.

Amanda added: "Jermain is absolutely fantastic with the fans.

"He didn't need to do any of this but he was so comfortable and made everyone's night.

"It's nice because our players really don't get the recognition for the things they do away from the pitch.

"Jermain in particular does so much for people, always has time for anyone who wants to chat or get a photo, and that's so important.

"I was just in the fortunate position that I know both parties and could make it happen."
