Getting LastPass Ready for the GDPR

LastPassMay 24, 2018
At LastPass, security and privacy are the foundation of what we do. We want our customers to be empowered to take control of their personal information, keeping it secure and accessible. As such we want to make sure you know how we at LastPass (and LogMeIn) are already participating in the EU-U.S. and Swiss Privacy Shield Frameworks and compliant with current applicable EU data protection rules. The upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that goes into effect this week holds us to this commitment even more so. Our team has been working hard to ensure the product is GDPR ready, thus protecting the personal data of our customers and their end-users. In the spirit of knowledge sharing and transparency, we’re pleased to share with you the new LogMeIn GDPR Resource Center. Here, you will find a number of resources to answer your questions about how LogMeIn is approaching GDPR readiness, including:
  • An overview of how LastPass is GDPR ready
  • Security and Privacy Operational Controls (SPOCs) for LastPass that describe in detail the overall security and privacy controls that protect our customers’ critical data and processes
  • A general overview of what GDPR is and how LogMeIn meets relevant GDPR requirements
  • Frequently asked questions
We’ve also updated our Data Processing Agreement to ensure that we have appropriate legal transfer mechanisms in place in support of GDPR. LastPass continues to offer users the ability to export passwords and notes, as well as delete their LastPass account, if desired, and now does so in accordance with the GDPR. We recognize the importance and complexity that regulations like the GDPR pose to our customers. This resource center will provide some of the basic tools and documentation needed to understand how LogMeIn is approaching this initiative, as well as data security and privacy, as a whole.  We will continue to update the Readiness Center with new resources, as well as provide updates to existing resources, as they become available.  Please check back often or sign up for the RSS feed for real-time updates.
