Police in Mpigi District have raided the shrine of a famous witchdoctor at Kanaani village in Buwama Sub-County and arrested him over allegations that he defiled and impregnated his biological daughter.

Vincent Ssenoga alias Jjaja Kasooba, 69, was picked from one of his shrines and detained at Buwama Police Station on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the suspect had engaged and used his 20-year-old daughter in sexual affairs for almost seven years. The two now have three children.

Mr Joseph Kakama, the Officer in Charge Buwama Police Station told this reporter that they (police) were tipped off by a good Samaritan that the witchdoctor “married and torture” his own daughter to the extent of not giving her food and health care.

“We couldn’t hesitate to go and get this monster. We have reports that he used the girl for seven years (from the age of 13). We are also investigating allegations that he infected her with HIV/AIDs. Can you imagine?” he exclaimed.

“He (suspect) would be charged with aggravated defilement and incest as our investigations continue. We shall take him to Courts of Law and be prosecuted later,” Mr Kakama added.

Mr Robert Ssemuju, the village chairman said the witchdoctor have been living with only the victim in the house after divorcing his other six wives, and his other children left for marriage and others work in areas of Mubende, Kampala and Kayunga.

“You may find that Ssenoga has been threatening his daughter never to reveal his acts to anybody but due to her health situation which is worsening daily, she decided to tell us (leaders) and we were concerned and finally intervened to rescue her and the three young ones,” he said.
