Bright year for Arizona solar in 2017

Arizona’s solar market had a solid year in 2017, as the state maintained its place as the third best state for solar, according to a new report.

na saw its solar growth increase by 14 percent last year, according to GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association’s U.S. Solar Market Insight Report 2017 Year-in-Review.

The state added 416.6 megawatts of new capacity statewide in 2017, making it the 7th fastest growing solar market in the U.S. last year.

With a total of 3,399.5 megawatts, Arizona retained its spot as the third largest state for solar, behind California and North Carolina.

Arizona has nearly 8,400 solar jobs, which ranks it sixth among the U.S. states, according to the solar report.
