Average cost

Some fragrances are often underestimated for the sole reason of having a "popular" cost, or for not being displayed on the shelves of sector stores.
In my opinion, today's event is certainly one of these.
Suitable for medium temperatures, and for most everyday situations, it can be worn by any man over 40 who wants to feel surrounded almost by magic by a perfumed aura, instantly fitting in a vintage and retro style typical of the barbershops of the past.
Its smell of bergamot together with black pepper and violet certainly does not have a very great range but, given its good duration and exceptional quality-price ratio, it defines it as an absolutely advisable product.
A perfume that is certainly unique on the market, an uncompromising classic. For men with beards.

This is nice and It´s a freshy that u will easily grab over and over cuz it suits many situations. Clean and just not another one, It´s a bit unique. I get the similarities to Cacharel L'homme which is supernice. Peppery Citrusblast with the Lemongrass, Bergamot, Tamarind and I get a clean Musk all way thru to the last drydown.
Good sillage for the first 2h and then the parfume lasts for 4h, pushing 5h. On clothes + bodyhair like on arms its over 12h. More male but also unisex.

This could be a citrus flanker of Burberry Touch.
If you have one you don't need the other.
Both are good.

kimi08serbia

This is so nice! Never smelled Galloway, so i can't say how close this comes to it. So, this is beautiful citrusy, peppery, clean scent. Also, quite refreshing. Performance aren't great, not at all, but in the high heat it can push for about 5 hours on my skin with moderate projection in first 1,5-2 hours. But, when you can get 125ml of this for about 40-45e who cares. Just spray a lot.

ashroloie

This is nice but you'll have to get trigger happy with it to make it last. It's definitely weaker than I was expecting but in warm weather could see this working well. A more modern take on Cacherel Pour L'Homme without the vetiver note came to my mind for some reason. Some of the other notes in that scent are definetly in here. It's a very safe and casual daily scent to smell nice and be non offensive to anyone.

SweetPeaPea

First impressions.. unisex, fresh, clean, but unique scent. In the opening I get a fizzy citrus.. pepper. Dries down slightly powdery, and longevity could be an issue, but for the price I just love it. I'll spray it on after a shower before bed or wear it casually with a white tee or polo. If you like fresh and clean like I do, then this is a good pickup.

Richarddanny83

Fresh, green and woody. Slight dewy in background from violet. Slight tiny dewy powder. Lemon leaf strong. Pepper bomb.

diego.lesgart

For being a Lalique it is an inofensive fragance. I was suprised about its little performance and lasting.. A clean and calm citrical and spiced fragance that almost sins of common. A.D.N. Lalique such a bit lost. Does not pass of an office or sport-club fragance.

gvd

Spring is coming so I bought an old friend that I met years ago. Our friendship hasn't changed. This is a perfect spring/summer fragrance to me: a touch of lemon, some pepper and wood. An fantastic combination in the hands of Lalique.
Sillage and longevity are moderate, however, at this price point this is nothing to complain about. Simply great value for money. Safe blind buy if you are into spicy citrus summer scents. 9/10

Histamine

Great cheapie with an energizing fresh citrus and pepper opening.

I have had this for two or three years now and looking at my bottle I have used a surprisingly large amount of this. I do not love it but I like it a lot and it serves a purpose in my collection: It is an easy dumb reach clean scent for going to the gym or just to refresh. Sweating somehow makes White perform better - might be ambroxan in it doing this.

To me this is more masculine but a woman could wear this too. More so if she likes boxing or martial arts. No, I do not mean that this is an aggressive scent, but I get this energetic feeling. Yet it is inoffensive and very easy to reach to. Would be good for office too, but it will not last even till lunch break. Longevity is enough for an hour or two at the gym and then I will take a shower anyway.

oldlifter

I've had this for about a year & like it. It is definitely similar to PDM's Galloway. The opening is a nice, light citrus, cut w/ the sharpness of pepper. After 20-30 minutes, this gives way to what I perceive as nutmeg & pepper w/ some supporting musk. I wish this was a linear scent b/c the opening is very nice. The dry down isn't unpleasant, it just is what it is. This is nice & inoffensive & I usually wear it to the office or gym. I would classify it as a fragrance for older men. Performance is below average.

Deianera

Got this scent for my boyfriend, he loves the scent in the bottle and on his clothes but on his skin it turns a bit funky during the day. But I adore it so much that I am wearing it myself in summer and spring time...

I'm a huge vetiver/lemon/citrus scent lover and it reminds me of the vetiver perfumes and colognes I got in France as a teenager, wet fresh lemon trees in summer, it has a tiny bit of sweetness to it, so imo it's an amazing unisex scent.

Yohanes27

Smells a lot like Galloway, with slightly worse performance.
Just buy 5 bottles of Lalique white for the price of 1 PDM, and overspray away

JupiterMoon

I get mostly white pepper and elemi. The elemi along with the tamarind give it a bit of a tropical vibe and make it unique. I have to be in the mood for the strong white pepper but this is well-done and good quality at a nice price.

AmenFraggie

As you spray from this white bottle, you'll get a blasting mist of zesty lemon/bergamot punch on a blowing spiciness of pepper and a dosed amount of green citrus leaves scent on your skin in a lovely way...as time goes on, the very little floral aspect will add to the spicy sides and the citric phase will fade soon...these complex behaviour would make anyone fall in love with this fragrance... it just could have had a bit more longevity to be the doubtless best choice for 24° to 36° of centigrades both day and night.

MountainDewd

Recently added this to my collection, got it for 20$, and for $20 this is very nice, safe, office scent. It’s fresh, citrusy, green and has slight powdery undertones. It’s not a crazy performer but I get solid 4-5 hours on it

Stewart G

Not one of the better Lalique perfumes.
Nothing great about the scent and terrible performance.

ismellsomething

On my skin its pure musk. Mixed feelings.

K-Rot

Answer to Luxfare: It's similar to Givenchy Gentleman Cologne, but not an exact likeness. LW is woodier than GG.

Raul Claudiu

One of the best, natural smelling and unique fragrances for this price. Pretty bad performance but I still recommend it.

Luxfare

Can anyone who owns Givenchy Gentleman cologne tell me whether this is close, I'm down to my last 15ml of Givenchy and it's amazing but discontinued, I've been disappointed with the comparisons on this site before

E138p

I've had this for a few months. Sprayed it when I got it and let it sit for a bit until I sprayed again. That day is today and I'm definitely getting that fresh spicy, which I like. Tamarind and pepper are very present, but one thing I got from the initial spray remained. This is very floral leaning.

Leans more feminine, but a man can make it work in a more dressed up setting. Not much for casual wear, but still great for spring and summer.

As Marge Simpson once said: let's throw it in the "maybe" pile.

That, or I'll give it to my girlfriend. Good frag, but I'm not quite sure it's for men. At least for me.

I used them for the first time this year. Temperature 17 C
I had a great time wearing it. With real pleasure.
It projects at arm's length, reaching my nose from time to time. After application at around 11 noon it still sits on the skin and it's already 12 o'clock at night
So over 12 hours. Not bad! Profondo lasted only 4 hours yesterday and disappeared ... Now you have a comparison ..

9/28/23 EDIT - This is really growing on me. Smells great on my skin & performs pretty well with 3-4 sprays. I think my first reaction was made after spraying fabric which I really don't like the strong ambroxan finish. On my skin the musk & violet blend nicely with the ambroxan in the dry down after a green citrus pepper-wood start. Very highly recommend for the price, I've done a 180 on this.

[Original review]
Opens strong sweet & sour, pleasant close sitting woody peppery floral mid. Drydown comes quickly & feels like just cheap ambroxan. Ok off skin, but please don't spray clothes to boost performance. Sephora men's fragrance section.

Not for me even at $25 for a big ass tester. Probably smells great & same-ey to the non-frag normies but I've been tainted by too much cheap ambroxan & a close second is a musk that the middle eastern clone houses use.

Part of a 2 for 2 cheapie blind buy fail

mattyuk2020

Lovely great value day scent in my opinion for any occasion. For the price you can’t go wrong with this.

vbs221

A very good, easy going, lemon fragrance that has a bit of natural greenness (lemon leaf), with some smooth white pepper over a non-abrasive cedar base.

It’s really pleasant, and way more interesting than the abrasive ambroxan-heavy fragrances like Sauvage.

However, I can’t help but feel that in the dry down, it does have elements of ambroxan blue fragrances—it’s almost like it becomes 35% generic ambroxan and 65% green lemon leaf white pepper. In that sense, I agree with derby2169 below. That may be a plus to some, resulting in the fragrance being less challenging, but to me, it means that it is less interesting than things like Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey PH.

I like this quite a bit, but I love L’Eau D’Issey more, and while they’re not the same, they are redundant to me for a fresh citrus slightly green fragrance.

euvs71

The opening is little harsh - mostly lemon, pencil shaving and lots of black pepper. However the drydown is much smoother. It becomes a soft, clean, soapy, musky scent. Not bad, but there are better options.

Steve907

This opens smelling like a perfume my mother wore in the 80s/90s. It quickly goes to musky, powdery pencil shavings. I heard so much about this being an amazing fragrance and I've tried it twice and it has no personality. For a guy, I have no idea where or when they'd wear it. Is it professional? Is it playful? To me it's neither. It's as if Pat from the SNL sketch got his....her....uh their own signature scent.

mkko

A very refined and elegant fragrance that is perfect for summer!

I live in a hot and humid country, so I’m always looking for a fragrance that can keep me fresh and cool. Lalique White is one of my favorites for this purpose. It has a citrusy and spicy scent that is refreshing and invigorating. It is not too heavy or sweet, but rather light and crisp. It lasts well on my skin and doesn’t turn sour or cloying in the heat. It is also very affordable, which is a plus for me. The bottle looks classy and elegant, and it fits well in my collection. I think Lalique White is a great fragrance for summer, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes fresh and spicy scents.

derby2169

I was very excited about this one, several people portray had portrayed this to me as the ultimate 20ist$ purchase. Thankfully I tested it before buying, as I am generally not as a impressed with it as I expected, probably because the bar was set too high.

So about 90% of the budget is in the opening, a large blast of white pepper. If you ever experimented with Chinese cuisine chances are you will recognize the key ingredient that is white pepper. Strongly expressed in the opening is also the bergamot, bright, juicy and tart.
Now I neither like nor dislike white pepper, but as it is front and center in the dry down together with neutral clean linen-like musks, it doesn't inspire me when wearing it.
It's not bad by any means, the official 90$ pricetag is a blatant rip off, but if you like the idea of bergamot and white pepper over a hollow ambroxan-y linen-like base it may be worth the 20$ discounter price. I personally would rather save up and buy a smoother tart citrus experience, something like Dior Homme Cologne in the designer world or explore some of the cheaper niche citruses instead, Perris and Diptyque come to mind.

skaccomatto

The best I can sum up Lalique White? Spicy pencil shavings citrus cologne for spring weather.

This has grown on me over the past year - at the beginning I was a bit put off by the tamarind note which is a bit sour, certainly made more spicy by a generous dose of pepper, that comes up immediately, and some very slightly pungent facets of nutmeg/cardamom that give the accord a little bit of background fuzziness and some light greenness tinge. I initially found this aspect at odd with the very likeable bitter and dry citrus profile of what seemed to be a delicate cologne opening.

After mere minutes, (in)famous pencil shavings (i.e. cedar) comes up in full force, and cedar+pepper+citrus dominates the arena through the scent's life which is, unfortunately, rather short. But it's an elegant, sofisticated "short" (four hours, maybe?). It won't project much around you either, it is an EdT with a cologne energy, but given the low price point (incredible for the quality of the juice, honestly), you can overspray and reapply as needed.

Like all Lalique creations, it took me a while to appreciate it, but with some overspraying I now enjoy wearing it in spring weather (especially on rainy days). I find this one more button down than t-shirt, and thus not fully working (for me) on scorching summer days unless you are in the office or enjoying air conditioning; similarly apt for early autumn days up to the time you start wearing your light fleece jacket. This is a clean, professional smelling fragrance, that makes a statement about understatement.

The minimalistic, clean solid-white bottle design is certainly beautiful though the plastic collar tends to move and the cap squeaks, and both looks really cheap (why, Lalique, why!?). Batch code E0A22 from Jan 2022. Decent like that goes up to almost love if you are specifically interested in clean light warm weather scents.

vbs221

Super likeable. To me, it smells like if you made Dior Homme 2020 more natural—if you removed the slightly-harsh cashmere and instead added smooth tamarind or lemon leaves, with some white pepper. The best quality Dior Homme 2020 alternative imo and for a quarter of the price.

PickledVibes

Such a lovely, complex and bright scent. It's a scent you fall in love with quickly, but then mourn over equally as quickly due to its short lifespan.

How I wish there was more longevity to this fragrance.

Greek model

WOW!! ❤️
What an amazing soft and clean scent!
My wife loved it on me from the first sniff and so do i..!!
Easily for all year around usage..
So i grab the biggest bottle (125ml) from Notino for 30€.!! 🤩That's a steal!

JamesPawn

the look of the bottle is nice but one of the weakest colognes i can remember . it will not offend anyone because they wont smell it unless there on top of you . the scent was a lil white pepper thats it .

vikipetrov96

Ароматът става за всеки ден или за тренировка,след душ.

Guest2563

Great value, good performance for a fresh summer fragrance.

Leonhart93

Absolutely lovely scent, the fresh lemony vanilla is to die for. But it has a different feel from Chanel Allure Edition Blanche, it's a bit fresher and green. But it has a big weakness in performance. Oh well, considering how cheap it is it's reasonable to use a lot and put it in a smaller bottle and carry it around.

Coffee_

I have smelled this perfume on many occasions, given that I have the perfumed soap. Setting aside the good soap quality, the smell of the perfume has always made me think that this perfume is quite amazing, even ignoring the price. It is both gentle and inoffensive while staying elegant and ever so slightly intricate in its palette. I personally think this perfume suits 2 occasions perfectly, with no question. Summer and office/school. Maybe less so in the harsh winter, but this smell being in the air any other time of year is the equivalent of a cat sleeping quietly in the other side of the room; it's just nice. Not "wow!" but not something you wanna ignore, either. Its opening is sharp but not piercing, and it dries down to a balanced woodiness that doesn't take away from the feeling of it being fresh.

Honestly, it's like £20 or $25. Just buy it. It might blow you away, and even if it doesn't, it will more than likely satisfy you.

Unmodernize

I do not recognize why everyone calls this masculine. It's definite non sexual, super non offensive people pleasing scent. It is interesting because I can smell different facets, a small complexity hidden in a seemingly nondescript summer citrus frag.

Edit: Yes it's good, but didn't wow me. I would easily go for CK One instead if I was in the mood for this kind of scent because it does it better.

Edit 2: Revisited 2024 and still very unimpressed by both performance and scent profile. Unisex and boring to me. Makes no impression. Wouldn’t even call it good now.

UL7RA

Great blend, unique and conservative citrus-pepper-wood scent destroyed by poor projection & longevity.

Bllynch1

I love almost all Lalique men's offerings and this is no exception. Opens with citrus and pepper, and dries down to a beautiful light citrus musk. PDM Galloway is close on the dry down, but I find White's opening to be much more memorable. If it could keep that opening longer, it'd perhaps be a top 10 all time scent for me. I've tried layering with Galloway but Galloway swallows up the opening. I hope some extrait clone house dupes this, cuz I'd be there for it!

jjames799

Superbly blended - quality as always from Lalique is brilliant for the price you pay. Bang for buck they are close to the top of the tree.

Smooth and creamy lemon, with a touch of pepper and spices, a blast of florals and a touch of green herbs all blended beautifully on a base of musk.

Not the most manly smelling scent but by god does it smell good and a level above most recent designer scents - sometimes the oldies are the goldies and this is certainly in that category.

Dixieland Delight

Fresh peppery spicy citrus. Not unique, but nothing smells exactly like it. I get the white pepper note, which is different than black pepper.

Clean, crisp, refreshing. Masculine.

There is nothing challenging or off putting here at all. Just nice citrus, woods and peppery sharpness.

Very solid citrus aromatic.

Performance is ok, not great. 5 to 6 hours. Projection is light, closer to the skin. This isn't a loud club banger. It's reserved but present.

7.75 rating

httrung32

First spray, very spicy and earthy, it smells like chicken soup sprinkled with black pepper, ground lemon leaves and tamarind, I felt kinda disgusted at that. After like 5-10 minutes, the dry down is way better, it becomes sweeter, less spicy, it transitions into a soft woody scent with a soothing smell of bergamot and hint of earthy tamarind. The scent is therapeutic and relaxing, it is a nice weak and soft scent for hot days and the office. Intimate projection for 30 minutes to 1 hour, then becomes skin scent for another hour, and basically disappears after that. I bought a decant to try it out because of Courtney’s recommendation on Baldassarre Fragrance, well, it is not unique and mind blowing like she said it to be! 🙃

sea2sky

I love the opening, but it lasts literally for 5 minutes. The dry down - depends on how much you spray it. This is what you get if you over spray it: put some dirty clothes into a hot water, add detergent, now smell it. A smell of a detergent mixed with a dirty hot water, yeah ). Just don't over spray and you will get a nice clean scent.

MetaLVipera

A wonderful summer smell. You can feel the lemon leaves directly.

The cedar tree has added a very beautiful forest atmosphere.

I really like this smell. Persistence is great.

A long fragrance that lasts for 20 hours.

narag

I can feel the listed notes but, even better, I can feel being in a forest after a light rain in a sunny summer morning. The scent has a vivid quality to it, it's easily recognizable and consistently put me in an excellent mood. Performance is decent and it's dirty cheap at discounters. The more fragrances I try, the more I appreciate happy-go-lucky Lalique White.

Willy smell good

One of those fragrances that just puts you at ease at the same time strangely it gives you a lil pep in your step..I know very contradictive but for me it really does..it's a lightish fragrance however..it has this ever slightly thin dark edge to it..I just don't get how this isn't extremely popular..its all about marketing I'm guessing..either way I love it and I guess that's all that matters..give it achance I think you'll love it as well.WK

j4yt33

Woody, slightly creamy citrus fragrance with a touch of florals and a little spice. This and Dior Homme Parfum would make a great fragrance wardrobe

vbs221

What I love the most about this compared to other citrus fragrances is that it has a very natural green smell to it. Really, the smell of a fresh lemon leaf, or a nice garden or forest in spring. It really is lemon leaf as opposed to lemon. It makes it much classier than other citrus fragrances.

It can also smell like premium lemon-scented wet towels, but with more complexity and creaminess. The dry down is incredibly smooth. I can see what people mean by pencil shavings, but it’s not really ‘rough’ pencil shavings—rather a smooth one. If you had told me this had Cashmeran, I would’ve believed you.

The green vibe and woodiness gives a nod to Lalique Pour Homme (Lion). I’m someone who loves but can’t pull off the Lion—a bit too mature for me. As such, White feels like a perfect middle ground between modern citrus but also matureness and class.

If you like citrus fragrances, like Issey Miyake’s L’Eau D’Issey, this is an easy recommendation. Replace the yuzu, floral, and aquatic notes with lemon, fresh leaves, and cedar wood.

Update: After 1.5 months of owning this, yup this is 10/10. The woods in here give it just enough of very pleasant/mass appealing scent, while the rest (green citrus and white pepper) makes it anything but generic. Smells very natural, like a lemon leaf garden in the spring.

FragranceAK

My first niche fragrance. For the price at the time it was well worth it. If you want a freshie buy this you can't go wrong. Lovely pencil shavings :)

richmilton

It's like a crisp white shirt recently ironed. Inoffensive and yet mysterious because it's unique (no pun intended). Would not wear on a hot summer day but is perfect for those beautiful late summer breezy days in September I'm mid 70's. Like it is today in Boston.

Pélissier

A nice blend of pleasing, fleeting, mild citrus and pleasant, warm, dry woods. I feel it's completely ageless, largely genderless, better suited to warm and hot weather, and can be worn day or night. Great value.
"You smell nice" is something you'll be likely to hear.

PLK

Very high quality clean scent, but it is lacking a little sweetness and citrus. Layered with mancera lemon line it becomes the perfect clean inoffensive scent. Still not worth it for me since lemon line is overpriced.

OversprayEverything

I blind bought this on a whim. It is clean and inoffensive. I don't know how to describe it yet, but it's kind of creamy and a little powdery, a little floral.

I don't think I have anything else in my collection that smells like this. Maybe it's somewhere between Coffee Break and Dior Homme? I really don't know.

alphairone

I spray this one with abandon. It's cool, calm, just enough grit and sparkle from white pepper, sunny lemon petitgrain, and a slightly sour tamarind accord. This mellows into peppery, pencil-shavings cedar, woody ionones and musk. It isn't fussy, nor is it complicated, but this is not to suggest that it is vapid either. Quite the contrary, it has textures, it undulates.

Whether you like her style or not, Christine Nagel does have some chops and has learned minimalism under the tutelage of Ellena, but here, we really see her sociable and accessible style shine through. To say this is a 'dumb reach' would be unfair, as it would be to say that it is mainstream. No, I'd rather say that it is artistically rendered but has great crossover appeal, if that makes sense. It's another example of great quality from the affordable Lalique brand, and I thoroughly enjoy wearing it.

JmThms

Lalique White is brilliant for what it is and what it does. It is a completely and perfectly inoffensive fragrance that has a slightly powdery, subdued, and clean feel. Nothing overpowers. Balanced. And just plain pleasant. Brilliantly pleasant. It has no pretensions to anything more grandiose than pleasant day wear. It has "Office Scent" written all over it, and no doubt that was the intention in its creation. And they succeeded brilliantly. They knew what they had created and decided to name it appropriately.

Caldrumr

A nice and easy, simple and fresh aromatic.
If you take a look at the note breakdown, you will see exactly what you are getting: lots of citrus and pepper, cedar and musk, with a sour tamarind note hiding in there adding character.
Similar in many ways to Dunhill Icon, but different enough to stand on its own.
Not powerful, but rather easygoing.
As with a lot of other Lalique fragrances, a great value for the price point.
A simple spicy aromatic for warm weather.

Máximo777

Clean inoffensive fragrance, very safe but at the same time is missing personality. Won't offend anyone also because the performance isn't the best. Give it a try, for the price it's a good perfume to wear at home.

discardedandroid

Lalique has a real knack for creating scents and marketing them accurately based on their scent profile. If the color white (is white a color?) had a scent this would be it. I think it's fantastic value, and very inoffensive, though I find it somewhat boring. Worth sampling if you want an inoffensive freshy that isn't blue or citrusy. Recommend.

yesplease

Absolute bargain for 30$/125ml bottle. Fresh, calming scent. I put it every time after shower. This is what calmness should feel like. Opening is amazing, although I get more of green vibes out of it. Not getting a lot of projection nor longevity, maybe 5 hrs. Still it is 8/10, definately recommend for chill and unformal situations.

BaroqueBookwyrm

Like a lot of other offerings from Lalique, the price to quality ratio here is unreal. Lalique is probably my favorite house, and fragrances like this support that preference. The opening is fresh, aromatic, and a bit spicy. Not like an oriental spicy, but like a green spiciness, if that is a thing. Spicy in the way that arugula, escarole, or frisée is spicy. I guess this is the "fresh spicy" accord that I am picking up on, and I love it. There is a creamy woody quality to it too once you get into the mid. There is nothing offensive here. It also seems a bit subdued or reserved. Perfect office scent. Doesn't seem to project much, and I don't think it would be possible to overspray this. I know that GIT is the king of spring, but this has to be the seneschal or high priest or whatever other patriarchal analog you prefer. It feels just as classy and sophisticated as GIT but more easy to wear and with a better opening. Appropos of the name it does smell white to me, in the same way that Green Irish Tweed smells green and Bleu de Chanel smells blue. Unlike other white scents though, it doesn't smell floral. If you go looking for floral notes you will pick up the violet, but really the overall impression of the fragrance is not floral. There is also a clean and light musk in the mid and dry down that is very pleasant. After about 2 hours there is a powdery note that is almost sweet, but not quite. I used 9 sprays of this (behind both ears, back of the neck, back of both wrists, both elbows, both shoulders). I am currently about 2 hours into this fragrance and I still get whiffs of it when moving. On the next wearing I may go up to 12 sprays, as this is a pretty light fragrance. For layering, I imagine that this would actually combine really well with GIT. It might also go well with woody fragrances with cedar or sandalwood notes. I think it would clash with boozy or oudy notes, so I would avoid those. After a few wearings I will come back and update this with some more performance notes to include longevity.

krassy.nikolov

Great value for cheap, summer, medium longevity fragrance. Not unique, but very well done.
On my skin it projects 1-2h, then close to skin 4-5h. To be honest, expected a bit more.

sersankeroro

For me its the most unique cologne i've ever used. Citrus notes is really strong at the opening followed by spicy white pepper. Very safe for blind buy, go take it for a cheap price you will get an unique smell.

Khanda1997

Absolute must buy for its price I paid 20 quid for this and damm smells like a niche cologne. Currently been wearing for 4 hours and I can still smell it off my skin and tshirt. And that's with just 4 sprays. The cologne is amazing for the price I can't see you going wrong. Opens with lemon/ orange note with a dark wood smell and then settles into a sweet tiny dry down. It's definitely the tamarind, lots hear it and stay away but works perfect in this cologne. For the price your not going to find a better everyday good summer cologne. On very hot days I wouldn't wear this though perhaps salvatore ferragamo casual life is better.

Waldo Jeffers

Pencil shavings, lemon, white pepper. Not for everyone but for me a go-to office scent. Best for spring and early fall, but totally works year round. The longer I have had this (about 2 years now), the more I have appreciated its subtlety and versatility. Amazing value

Splod

I love this, this is just how I like a fragrance to be its subtle yet long lasting it sells very clean and inoffensive and sometimes that's all I want from a fragrance. Perfectly unisex.

Ksj_

I think it’s bit of a stretch to compare this to Galloway, but I get it. Slightly.

Side note:

This is a great cheap fragrance, and if you’re looking for a summer scent that’s comforting, clean, and peppery. This is for you.

Digam

First impression, for the first few minutes I thought I was smelling one of those fragranted-wet ready packed paper towels they used to offer in some fast food restaurants and on planes on economy flights with your meal to wipe your hands with after eating, however, after settling it smells much more pleasant citrusy but I still need some time with it to make up my mind, I certainly get the tamarind, it smells really good in the air than if you stick your nose directly to where you applied the perfume so its definitely a keeper

smellmyfingers

As everyone says, for the price, very good quality. If you read the other reviews, keep in mind that the top citrusy note is not lemon, it's Tamarind. That said, if you've never experienced Tamarind I could see the comparison to lemonade. Tamarind is more sweet then sour though. Think lemonade, but more tropical.

Nothing harsh, great scent overall. It's only a like for me because it's very citrus forward and I'm starting to lean away from that. But my significant other likes it, so I keep it. Safe for summer daytime high heat.

StaticCentreHalf

I have no clue how these people are able to produce such quality for the price. 125ml in exchange for £25 is ridiculous. Rich, deep, aromatic but still light and fresh. I just don't get it. But long may this continue so I can keep drenching myself in the stuff and still pay all my other bills.

Slava Ukraini.

Criglett Clussnum

It smells like lemonade combined with a nice soap. It smells a little bit like Jimmy Choo Man Ice but not as sweet. This is a good clean scent for the office or times where you want something safe. It is pleasant and masculine and a scent that won't let you down. I can't see anyone disliking this but it's not crazy great either. It's a nice clean scent with a little touch of spice.

WGG

Lemon, then pepper, into wood. Opens bright and strong, not zesty or spicy. Reminds of Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver, but on steroids. Drydown like Guerlain's Vetiver though side by side the Guerlain is earthier. I experience the pencil shavings but dont let that put you off, this is creamy rather than a dry, peppery cedar.
To sum up, this is really good ('masculine, white linen shirt'), versatile, with decent performance. I paid £20 for 75ml, that's fantastic value.

dchopkins1982

A classy, delightful blend of citrus and woods propped up throughout with clean, powdery goodness. It's not annoyingly too bright, loud or sweet so it is absolutely ideal for high heat months. Nothing not to like here apart from the longevity, you'll be lucky to surpass the 3-4 hour mark. Surprisingly the projection for the first few hours is good considering the lack of staying power and 125ml of quality juice for under £20 makes this another great and safe buy from the house of Lalique.

Bfish88

Not quite galloway, galloway has a deeper, richer and slightly inky quality to it. This one is brighter, crisper and more citrusy. I get a direct blend of galloway and artisan pure to my nose, with about the same performance and longevity.

Lalique makes great quality fragrances with good looking bottles. This house is amazing for sure and underated IMHO. Wish the ca was metal but given the price point that is ok with me for the plastic chrome plated one. Classy summer or spring clean happy pick me up scent. Very lovely concoction of a fragrance.

Compositeur

Clearly Christine Nagel is someone who knows what they're doing. This is excellent on its own, and excellent for layering too, and has this aura of refinement about it.
I have complained before about perfumes being marketed 'for women', so same goes for this one: why 'for men'?

Makes you think, if Lalique can achieve this result for this price then...

cashewdoc

Like if Reflection Man and L'eau D'issey had a baby. A casual, yet mature and classic feeling scent. As always, Lalique is punching above their weight class.

BoozyBrunch88

Pure white smelling, almost barbershop 💈 reminds me of after shave balm, strong spicy sporty manly vibe
It’s a gorgeous scent and a must have!
10/10 scent and 100% bottle worthy - nothing really compares but it’s a quintessential for after shower and shave spritzzzz

Dr Harder

Do not overspray this, the less you spray the more of its residual sweetness and powderiness you will get, that the lesson I had to learn. Some of the perfumes actually breathe and grow better on your skin when you reduce the number of sprays. Lalique white is one of them, its extra clean and friendly, impossible to dislike

dlopeztt

A nice fresh sour scent.
I have nothing like this in my collection.
It’s different and enjoyable.

A perfect example of a ‘grower’. Initially I was underwhelmed by White’s performance, and wasn’t sure there was much to ‘see’ here. But after persisting, and experimenting with application (to say I apply quite liberally is an understatement), my nose is attuned, and now I get it. Bags of summer citrus fruit, deep creamy leaf scents (including tea), and plenty of warm woody character. And something savoury and floral too. Masculine and beautiful.

Fatter

I get a tangy and peppery aroma with this perfume. And I swear a dash of salt is in there too. I find it very pleasant and fresh in a unique way that is unisex even though male-targeted. Those of you who enjoy fruity scents based on green fig, rhubarb, or even grapefruit I could see appreciating this as it is low in sweetness while not compromising on fruity fun.

The star here is the tamarind. The only form of tamarind I see where I live is in the latin food section of grocery stores where it comes in the form of a waxy looking copper colored paste adhered to a white plastic spoon and sealed in a crinkly clear bag (wow adjective overload). Anyhow, this perfume is how I imagine that candied spoon tastes: a pinch of sweet, VERY tangy, and a bit aromatic with spices. It makes your mouth water.

Concerning longevity: I gave myself 4 sprays around 1pm before I went to the gym, did my leg day (HEAVY sweating), ran a few errands, and went home. By 6pm I could still smell it wafting up from my shirt. Pretty impressive, huh? I was surprised. I took a shower so I don't know if it would've carried on even longer.

Similar scents that I know of would be 1903 by the J. Peterman Company as well as Black Pepper by Molton Brown. They share a certain something I cannot put my finger on. However I will warn you these aren't fruity like Lalique White is.

Also want to mention the atomizer on this works great. Lets out a nice big cloud.

LP80

If white did have a smell - this would be it.

Fresh, newly washed, crisp, ironed, white shirt.

I have no issues with longevity what so ever, but I also doubt this is ment to be a projecting beast.

It is a subtle and serious perfume, perfect for the office.

One of the few that I have a back up bottle of.

Excellent, Unique and wonderful!.....A Masterpiece of art!
From genius perfumer, Christine Nagel.

Guitar 2016

WOW, Amazing fragrance, Fresh, Bright, Clean, Elegant and Unique. I am a big fan of the house of Lalique. The name of White is a symbol like Man's White shirt. This is a great fragrance from Lalique and Christine Nagel, It has high quality composition and well-blended. You can't go wrong with it. It opens up with like fresh citrusy and slightly spicy then dry down is musky woody. The White Pepper and The Lemon Leaf notes are dominant in this perfume. It is suitable for the spring and summer, l really enjoy it and I love Lalique White EDT for Men. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection, Highly Recommended.
Two Thumbs Up.

I agree 100% with yourthemanowdog this is very weak, 30 minutes and become skin scent, i am not suprised its so cheap on notino :(

yourthemanowdog

should named it lalique water because its that weak. save yourself some money and just get quorum silver its about 90% the same but silver has better projection and is stronger then this water fragrance .
this is lalique pour homie basically brightened up with the vanilla removed and watered down . i blind bought and regret it its really poor performer 12 to 15 sprays almost vanished after a hour . opening is ok but the dry down is boring. its a really weak scent 2018 batch .

Sal47

Beautiful and elegant, Harmless, reminds me or It smells a little bit like Erolfa.

Dr Harder

Pencil shavings smell comes from the cedar note, its the same cedar note used in Bentley for Men absolute and Azzarro visit. Its definitely not typical citrus scent, more like a green peppery woody ever so slightly powdery fragrance. Its still amazing scent and Lalique offers one of the best products in this price range, quality that you get for this money is unbeatable

BigWhiff

Initially I really liked this. Reminded me of early spring when you first mow your lawn after a long winter. Fresh cut grass with dead leaves and pine needles. Truly a refreshing scent. Early stages of the drydown my wife says to me, "you smell like a doctors office" and now I can't un-smell that. Not that its a bad scent, but it really does smell like a doctors office. Love the opening but the later stages come up short for me. Mine will more than likely find a new home considering my wife hates it. Lasted about 8 hours with moderate projection 2-3 feet for the first half of its life, then a skin scent. I consider this safe and inoffensive but I do not recommend blind buying this. Sample first.

jarno1208

I like it. Very mature. I get mainly pepper and then green notes. Which I can't clearly say what are the green notes that I get mainly. Masculine, mature, peppery, green and fresh scent.

clfever

This perfume one of the reason why I stopped to buy fragrances by only reading the details after I got it I decided whatever I read about the perfume I will never buy it without test

Steph_S

I first purchased this while waiting on a flight in Paris in 2014. I was walking around and happened across the Lalique boutique. I wasn't particularly looking for anything, but when I got a whiff of this, I had to purchase it. It's one of those fragrances that is soft, but powerful. It caught my attention and made me want more of it. I paid an outrageous price for this in Paris. I am amazed (and happy) that I can find it in the US for a much lower price. Even though this is marketed as a men's fragrance, I wear it with a lemon body spritz and/or body lotion and it makes is a beautiful, feminine spring/summer scent.

YouGonSmellMyCologne

A great change of pace from the typical fresh citrus/neroli combos out on the market that's somehow mass appealing but not boring. I commend Nagel for attempting to do something a bit different with the inclusion of tamarind and using pepper in a spring/summer fragrance. Some people have said it reminds them of pencil shavings, but White smells more like a newly opened pack of printer paper. Though the lemon leaf manages to take centre stage past the opening (to the point that it's overcrowding the tamarind), the real stars are the aforementioned pepper as well as the cedar in the base which last surprising long on my skin (6-7 hours, oscillating between nonexistent and fully present). Sure, it's not a major projector, but for what it costs you can be generous with the sprays. This would be a fantastic option for work, a post gym scent, or anytime you want something to wear with a t-shirt and jeans.

House Adams

I'm with helman on this...

I got my bottle Spring 2020 - This is one of my better performing fragrances, without a doubt.

Beautiful, mature, masculine - Fresh spicy, woody with a touch of citrus. Not a younger mans fragrance, in my eyes.

helman1968

This one is Beast mode on me, even on one of my friends, it fills the room, real heavy radiation, so i`m sad to hear that others, don`t get the same performance, maybe the Danish climate does the difference for me.
This one is in my Top 10, just love it.

diego.lesgart

Nothing new under the sun. Springtime/summer fragance, stronger than a cologne. I don t know say it is inofencive, but it is easy to wear, comfortable and cozy. In the Tea Blanc by Elizabeth Arden. Splarkling in a citric way, then becomes into dry or calm down may be because of spices. Ideal for sportmen who goes after the game to a cocktail. White Lacoste t-shirts in bronze skins.

Fill911

It's a clean fresh spicy scent only for warm weather,i like it but the performance is more than disapointing after fifteen minutes is a skin scent.

kdvwest

Got a 2ml decant from ebay.

I've never had a scent perform this badly before.
This lasts around 40minutes on my skin.

Now I've never smelled bergamot on its own to know what it actually smells like, but after around 20 seconds this scent smells like those yellow pez candies. Then it dies down around 5 minutes to a very light citrus smell. Then it's dead at around 40 minutes.

I have to vote dislike due to the poor performance. Scent would be nice if it was able to perform. It didn't on my skin.

richmilton

Perfect late September scent in between Summer-Autumn seasons when it's not yet cool enough to take out the spicy fragrances and yet still warm enough for lighter, fresh, clean scents. Lalique White is the ideal fragrance for this time of year. Wear it with a white polo shirt and ivy cap... and preferable with a nice watch. Very professional scent, masculine in a classic gentlemen way without being dated. Exceptional value like most Laliques.

TimeSmells

No one to mention the seductive tamarind, perhaps the main secret of this lullaby scent.
Oversleep once on his pillow, best breakfast ever is what Lalique White will serve you when you wake up.

SignatureScentReviews

Don't listen to the negative reviews. This fragrance is fantastic. The elemi, cedar, along with the citruses make a great combination. The drydown is really nice. For the money this is a no-brainer. just buy it. Warm weather really makes this one shine. The woodiness is very realistic and I would say this is white linen or white t-shirt approved! Very versatile for warm weather situations. Even high heat.

straightupfragman

I cannot for the life of me understand how over 40 people think this 'thing' smells like Galloway. There is no semblance whatsoever!!! This one smells cheap (well that is stating the obvious) and no where near as sophisticated-ish as Galloway. Comparisons like this leave me utterly bewildered and dubious about whether I have a different bottle from outer space or something. Best way I can describe LaLique White is "I put it up for sale soon after the first few sprays".

I do have a few knock-abouts from the house of Lalique as they are known to churn out unique blends of frags, so this is not me bashing them baselessly at all. I would go on to state in fact, that the smell of Lalique White is not bad per se as a frag in its class, but I was just too angry that I had curious-bought it based on a lot of people affirming it as an alternative to PDM Galloway. I mean for a fraction of £200, who would not go for it? You can't even imagine the extent of anticipation within me when the juice arrived, and the underwhelming feeling that followed when I sprayed it.

If you want a frag that's just alright for its class and price, you could consider Lalique white but if, like me, your excitement hormones are splattering everywhere because people are saying it smells like Galloway, then I'd urge you to look elsewhere now! You've been warned.

doownehpets

I have Lalique White and Galloway, they're not really that similar. White is more about the lemon leaf, tamarind and white pepper. Galloway is all about orange blossom, musk and pepper, definitely more of a floral touch from the orange blossom. I actually prefer Lalique White to Galloway, just barely. Neither are all that great. I do really like the lemon leaf note in Lalique White, wish that was used instead of lemon in other fragrances. I typically don't like lemon as a note, lemon leaf seems much less astringent and a little green. Lalique White could work well as an inoffensive office fragrance. It's not very strong and it's pleasant for the most part.

Vapor Trail

Beautiful fragrance let down by criminally poor performance.

Disclaimer: I got a sample of this from Lalique after contacting them via e-mail (apparently they'll send you samples if you ask!) but it took at least two months, so god only knows how long mine was sitting out in the sun. It could have just gone bad.

But it has very, very little staying power. My deodorant is stronger.

As for the fragrance itself, it opens with a burst of bergamot and lemon leaf, with the pepper and nutmeg coming into play soon after. It's a really beautiful scent profile, fresh and clean without coming across soapy and synthetic in the slightest. It's a "mature" freshness.

sa6ko_metal_fen

Fresh spicy indeed.
Very conservative scent profile, which makes it perfect for the office.
This offends no one, it's pretty long lasting and it is classy.

Black pepper plays a dominant role.
There is also a bit of musk which comes in the later stages.
There is a hint of citruses in the head.

A very nice bottle and sprayer.

My opinion: absolute perfect for everyday work environment.

ade_chandra

I ended up giving it to my friend cos it too cloying for me

strange_dejavu

It is smooth,it smells a bit feminine. On my skin it tends to be flowery instead of citrusy. I smell ylang ylang in the opening. It's safe for office use, it has soft projection not offensive. I would categorize as unisex instead of men perfume.

reechlee

When you were like, 10 years old, this is your annoying aunt who sells Avon. Most of her clothes have shoulder pads. She is laden with makeup, and lipstick, voluminous hair full of hairspray. She comes to smother you with annoying aunt hugs and kisses, she burps right in front of your face while she's messing up your hair. She doesn't think anything of it because you are just a little kid, and you can tell she just ate lemon pepper something. Even her brightly painted fingernails have a sticky lacquer smell, and uncomfortably tugs at your hair. Your young self finds her makeup bags and kits are weird and weird smelling. What are all these different tubes and paints and pencils???

La maisonnée

Very nice and pleasant safe unisex smell. I can’t see someone being annoyed by this. Maybe a bit subtle but for the price it is very well blended and evolving. The dry down is absolutely gorgeous, it reminds me a more potent Comme des Garcons Monocle Yoyogi but only the dry down. I highly recommend, this is a must have in your collection.

Perfumeissex

First impression: pretty good aka. wearable, but not as outstanding as the great Encre Noire series. Having high expectations of this perfume after owning the Encre Noire and the Sport, I was deeply disappointed in the White. It is decent, pretty normal in Lalique language, doesn't smell like generic designer colognes, but not interesting enough to pick it over other great perfumes.

Like the name suggests, the White smells clean - almost basic - and inoffensive to the nose. I can imagine the scent suits well in humid, hot climates i.e. Southeast Asian region. For a guy who lives in a region with four distinct seasons, the White reserves its place for summer and whenever I want to feel basic and join the crowd.

Conclusion: pretty basic.

Corrida

Lalique White is one of those rare offerings that are, thanks to their distinctive character, instantly recognizable. By that I mean that the "reminds me of" box would be empty here. It is Lalique White, period.

Its performance makes it perfect for the warmer months, though it is a true all year/occasion appropriate juice.

Scent-wise what really stands out here is the spicy-peppery undercurrent, which is tamed down to a degree that it is just enough to give the juice a special edge, without inducing a headache. This is my favorite feature about Lalique White and this is what makes it unmistakable. Tame, but present, with its own charisma.

A true and quality dumbreach for any season, any time of the day, adored by both women and men, living up to the Lalique reputation.

marcr17

This is a unique clean scent. On my first smell, I did not like it. It really reminded me of the smell of Noxema. But after testing it out again, and getting past that opening, I do like its clean peppery scent. Was expecting more of a soapy clean, but its uniqueness is a plus.

UPDATE: I don't like this at all. Too powdery/musky for me. The citrus is so sour on me as well.

DrNDJas

What a lovely fragrance. Lalique White is a rare gem that is a great example of a "warm" warm weather scent. Unlike a typical aquatic or fresh citrus scent, this one combines spicy note (with pepper being the most prominent), the fruity/earthy tamarind, cedar, and the interesting lemon leaf for a unique take on freshness. It doesn't really smell like a "men's cologne" with a noxious attempt at sexiness. Lalique White simply offers an intentional understatement of casual classiness, wearable in almost any occasion.
One could easily build a wardrobe exclusively of Lalique fragrances and have all your situational/seasonal needs covered extremely well for a comparatively small amount of cash.

Marlon

To me it is very similar to Tommy Neon Brights for men with peppery note added. Pleasant and clean. However, performance is poor, so it's qualified amongst many other cheap freshies. On the other hand, everyone should have one... I'd say: go for it!

Smell Ya Later

A great warm weather casual fragrance for the price. Good longevity and projection for me. Like a peppery laundry scent and I don't mean that as a negative. Would buy another bottle if I get through this one. Highly recommend.

hfiebert

Truly beautiful. Reminds me somewhat of a citrus leaning fougere. Very clean, citrusy and somewhat creamy. There is no Tonka beans in here, maybe it is the amber and oakmoss that give the creaminess. Will definitely continue adding this to my collection.

I have owned this for a while and haven't worn it much because it is quite "safe." Consequently, it has been rarely one I reach for when I want to smell noticeably good. That has completely changed. As the winter in Virginia gives way to Spring, I have been reaching for less potent (oudy, sweet, etc.) fragrances and have been trying out my cleaner-smelling fragrances. I wore this four days this week, and I have never gotten compliments like this. It is simultaneously woody and clean, but it gets a tad sweeter/spicier in the base. I can use 6 sprays and it is not overbearing but lasts me most of the day. It has garnered positive comments from my teenage daughters and their friends, middle-aged female co-workers, and guys I hang out with. It turns out that smelling clean and subtle is not boring.

jayo4K

Randomly got a 2.5oz bottle for $15 so I could get free shipping, and this was a huge surprise for me. This scent evokes spring time. The lemon leaf is absolutely the dominant note, and it's so good. It smells woody, earthy and citrusy at the same time. This fragrance is absolutely perfect for a sunny spring day. It's so pleasant on my skin and has great longevity and sillage.

One thing I definitely don't understand, is how a lot of the reviews here claim that this smells synthetic. It's not even close to synthetic to my nose. It smells so fresh and natural. But I guess that's why scent is subjective, everyone's nose is different.

However I do understand how some people get the pencil shavings smell, because when I smell it directly from the atomizer that's all I smell. But when I spray on my skin, I only get a hint of pencil shavings in the background. It's dominated by the lemon leaf, which is such a unique note. So I think this scent heavily relies on a persons skin chemistry, in which it seems to play very nice with mine.

Super surprised by this one. Overall 8/10.

marcel2782

At first it reminded me of the smell and taste of that little candy called "Mints" by Garoto, white squares of green packaging. Then I went to see the notes and agreed with them, the general aroma is very trustworthy to that of a lemon leaf, but a very fragrant, slightly musky and without any acidity / citricity - living with it the white pepper (just tasty, not sharp) and delicately scenting something else - probably the ambered violet leaf. Good, but even though it looks natural and refers to natural things and the ending result delivering a simple aroma - which means high versatility - it produces a slightly artificial aura to my taste (aldehyde, ambroxan, ISO-E style). It projects little but seems to have good longevity.

Lou_Perfumes

To my nose this smells like lemons mixed with hand made tallow soap in a bad way. Maybe for someone who doesn't know how this kind of soap smells it wouldn't be a problem, but for me it's a No-No scent in a fragrance.

Im a huge fan of Lalique, but sadly I'll pass on this one. The Bottle is gorgeous though, like all Lalique bottles.

Insertwittyname

Well, there is something distinctly barnyard about this. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it. I've liked Lalique fragrances in the past and hesitate to give a bad review but White is one to avoid. I was looking for a post-gym cheapie fragrance and thought that this might fit the bill. But I was wrong. Lemony cowshed. This one is consigned to the back of my draw never to see the light of day.

Tyrone E

Reminds me of a bit of Mugler Cologne (but brighter). Heavy citrus, mild sweetness, bright, clean, with a smooth spiciness to it.

This lasts on me about 4 hours, mild projection for about an hour.

You can wear this almost anywhere in the spring and summer. Fits almost any ocassion and shouldn't offend anyone.

BurberryLondon4ever

I love this fragrance. This summer I decided on a theme for my weekly work fragrance line up and theme was "white" white in the name or bottle to signify pure, clean, fresh. La Coste Blanc, Mugler Amen Pure Shot and Lalique White were my favorites that I acquired. Lalique White smells unique to me and I get a slight medicinal vibe that reminds me of my uncle's house which was nostalgic as he never got with the times everything was 1950's and 60's ish. I think this reminds me of the first time I smelled the original flavored Listerine at his house. Like I said before I only need a scent to last me 5 hrs at least for work purposes and this is sufficient besides I always spray my shirt which extends the life of the scent.

Sprayallday

I love this scent and while longevity was never on the longer side of things, now that I'm halfway through my bottle it is a skin scent in 30 minutes. Even when applying 4-5 sprays in one spot.
My girlfriend loves it on me as well and says she can't detect it within the hour.
Wish it could last a bit longer..
Very safe scent for every occasion.

diegomsgomes

My wife simply adore. It is my first fragrance of Lalique, So it is my favorite too. I don’t have any fragrance with this smells

M!KE

Lalique’s take on citrus aromatic is decent but not half as good as classics in that group.

It opens with tart bergamot, lightly resinous elemi (like Eau Sauvage 2017) and lemon leaf (that gives the impression of mixed juicy lemon skin and green stem).
While the first two vaporize quite quickly, a lemon leaf is an aroma that loses its strength slower and it introduces the aromatic heart of the scent – pepper with a mix of notes that we could get from violet, nutmeg and perhaps cardamon (+ still detectable lemon leaf).
Pepper here is intense for around 45 minutes, nutmeg is on the airy-spicy side, the violet aroma is delicate, and cardamon (if it exists here as it could be different – herbal – type of pepper) sharpens side of the lemon leaf.

An hour after application nearly vaporized pepper, nutmeg and violet merge into woody cedar note that could create a “pencil shavings” effect for some*.
From here scent will evolve firstly to sweetened up oakmoss (perhaps by amber) and then light musk.
Overall pleasant and unique like most of Laliques, but probably the only one from that house I could live without **.

Although it will get you compliments it fussily requires air-conditioned space to spread its wings, as with high humidity temperatures on my skin elemi with pepper creates a super sour effect.
It is versatile and could be a good all-year rounder if not the fact it lacks in performance ***.
If you’re after classic (and classy) citrus aromatic look for Acqua Di Parmas, Goutals, Guerlains. Malles, Diors, Zegnas or Fords ****.

* I felt it when I tried the scent circa 2010; I’m more than sure it’s been reformulated
** not counting Ma Force as I am still testing it
*** sillage is ok for an hour, and people will still notice your scent from close distance after another 2; since then it becomes a skin scent, with hardly detectable deep base’s musk
**** or on a cheap side: CK One, Mugler Cologne, Ferrari Radiant Bergamote

Fresh but different. My first impression was just wow. It could easily be your signature scent. This is my second Lalique fragrance. First one is of course encre noire.

oswjim

this is my first lalique. Opted to go with something more casual than going the adventurous route of buying an encore noir or equus ... I liked this fragrance a lot. Fresh and safe ... aromatic and clean --- love the bottle too; perfect for these last days of summer.

have to agree with @MacGuffin down below ... this smells like a more intense version of MB starwalker

Przem

Should be called Lalique Green. A must have for Mugler Cologne fans. It lasts much longer. Next to green notes nutmeg plays a big role here.
For the time being I have used it in high heat but I think this can be used throughout the entire year. Very good for office.
Overall 7.5/10.

ReapThaWhirlwind

Lalique White is a fresh spicy. The fragrance opens with an astounding accord of citrus, spices, and woods. I say astounding because the aroma was strikingly similar to the sophisticated Creed Spice & Wood—albiet after it goes stale. Still, a phenomenal likeness all around.

The aroma is very masculine and aristocratic. Like that which a scholarly man would wear while he reads in his study. The fresh notes and citrus aldehydes give lift and comfort, while the spicy notes (pepper, cardamom, clove, nutmeg/mace) add fathoms of depth, stimulation, and character.

Incredibly nice for the price point offered on the grey market. Very easy to wear, and easy to enjoy for a man. Although, I would find this best suited for the private time. Not really something I would wear out—as I do Creed Spice & Wood.

This one is just a bit simpler, and also seems composed on a cheap fixative base—so that if you get too close to it, the finer aromatics are lost. Projection and longevity is rather sub-par as well.

An enchanting fragrance though none-the-less. Surprised not to see it in one of their fancier bottles.

i didn't smell soap , smell like fresh pepper with some of green lemon

talkaboutscents

I too have a great impression of the house Lalique, but unfortunately for the first time I hit the dislike button with White. It differs quite a lot from the high quality, unique creations at good price point Lalique is known for.

White opens up with a nice lemon but together with Tamarind which to me does not go along well. In few minutes the scent changes into musky cedar-nutmeg which is nicer, but very light from start to finish and nothing special. A very watered down cedar-nutmeg here, and I'm a huge fan of the combo.

@errbin makes a good point below with layering, if you are into that. Otherwise this fragrance will not standout within your selection and hardly make it more than a gym/daily errands rotation.

tso

I love this fragrance. When I first time smelled it straight from the bottle, it was very stingy and I hated it. But the smell settled down fast and I like the drydown scent very much. Although the "pencil shavings" description isnt too far - you can really smell it that way, if you want to.

The fragrance is quite inoffensive, something I'd label between day/night, you can use it as either one. I've personally reserved it more for nights and special occations.

I usually spray fragrance with 5 sprays:
One spray on both collarbones below cloth
One spray behind both ears
One spray behind my neck

Sillage with these sprays is average: About an arm length.
Longevity is ok too, 5-6 hours on my skin.

errbin

The perfect gym fragrance a clean low sillage fragrance
layer with Molecule 04 and it rounds this fragrance beautifully the lemon from White sits very well with sandalwood creaminess of Molecule 04 highly recommended

once it settles it gets a little musker but still very fresh and clean off the body heat in the gym it lovely

Lalique White is one of my favorites for the heat/gym since it's not offencive and won't drown anyone close to you... but sometimes it floats and it's true beauty shows and it's uniquely different.

Can't be over sprayed.. A Arizona heat must

MacGuffin

This is what I discovered lately: Lalique White is the intense and graphite loaded version of Montblanc Starwalker.

Lanzer

First time I smelled it, I fell in love! It smelled sharp and fresh and clean. Citrus and woody, I totally got the pencil shavings resemblances. I used up a full 125ml botlle and bought a second one. The second bottle, I didn’t feel it so amusing as the first one. I felt it sharper with more pepper in it and less citrus. For the price, it’s a good option for summer. I don’t think anyone smells like this.

APULIAN

Lalique white is a good summer fragrance for sure. it's fresh, citrusy with well-mixed woody and pepper notes. it's absolutely inoffensive, u can overspray without care and fits good for work or casual situation. the scent is not groundbreaking but pleasant and not boring.
the price is fantastic, i paid 27euros for a big bottle.
the performance is the downside of lalique white. projection, longevity and sillage are absolutely below average, after 3 hours is gone.
in the overall, a good fragrance with a great price. but i dont think i will rebuy it again. there are many fragrances i prefer more and the performance is a joke.
buon profumo con un ottimo prezzo. non è indimenticabile ma fa il suo. performance pessima.

jwc001

The bottle arrived packaged ok, cellophane sealed properly. I could hear rattling - I expected broken glass.

Inside, the bottle was intact, but the metal plate that sits on top of the bottle was loose, and it rattled around the bottle top. The spray mechanism was at a slight angle - not sitting properly on the bottle. The bottle and packaging looked authentic.

I gave myself a few shots on the arm. The spray mechanism worked, and there was an initial citrus blast, and a bit of wood later on the dry down. But rapidly, this scent just disappeared off of me. And I couldn't tell I had perfume on within the hour.

I have loved every Lalique fragrance that I have bought, to date, so I guess I should not be disappointed. I also should perhaps give White another chance, and buy from another supplier after I have returned this one (to the ebayer I bought from).

SteveScent74

I picked this up recently as a blind buy. I really Lalique frags (including Bentley) and I was curious about this frag (and I couldn't find it in any stores). I agree with others that say this frag is unique and unlike other freshies on the market. That said, I don't care much for this fragrance. On paper, I get a mild citrus note in the opening--not sharp at all and not sweet. I do pick up the cardamon and violet during the dry down, but it quickly turns into a woody fragrance. It does have some of that Encre Noir pencil shaving vibe going for me and there is quite a bit of vetiver in there. On my skin, it turns sour. I get hardly any citrus and it's all pencil shavings and wood--but without any sweetness, spice or or musk to give it some kick. In short, it's a bland, boring fragrance on my skin.

Performance is meh. It doesn't project at all for me and I get about 4-5 hours of longevity as a skin scent. It might be ok for the gym, but there are so many better frags out there--even for this little money.

MacGuffin

Bitter, green citrus (Bergamot) is the most noticeable opening note. Unfortunately, bitter citrus does not belong in my book for this blind buy of mine. I prefer sweet citrus like lemon and orange. 5/10 Rating.

If you live in Dubai please PM me I will trade my bottle of Lalique White EDT (120ml) for anything new or old that is not in my collection.

gabiborza

The name does justice to this fragrance! Beautiful clean crisp scent, not offensive, not too much projection, a great spring and summer choice. It lasts around 6 hours on my skin. I Love it, and the price is ridiculous!

Smellwise

I do smell the tamarind, some citruses, pepper and woody nuances.. fresh and light just the way i like it.. its very different from other common fresh fragrance.. sometimes i smell some medicinal/hospital type smell.. i dont know where i got that association but it does gives that vibe occasionally.. although very light, it suits its character well.. it can be over bearing if its too heavy.. its a safe office scent and hot weather scent.. but i dont think people will notice your scent if you wear it in an open environment..

waskotransportation

I usually really enjoy clean scents. My favorite everyday scent is original Mugler. I have been looking at Parfums De Marly Galloway and then kept reading reviews saying that this perfume smelled just like it. I ordered a sample off of ebay (of this lalique) and am SO SO glad I didn't blind buy the expensive Galloway.

This smells just like Jean Nate splash on my skin (maybe a tad sweeter). It's not that I dislike this per se, but I don't want another bottle of jean nate or 4711 type of scent. I have enough of those that I hardly ever use. This time I am just grateful I didn't buy full size of this or Galloway.

Dirtyhoody

Just got this in the mail. Put it on after a shower and after a little while it went poof. Smells nice. Very clean.

oleg533

I smell only pepper :/

zhiang0113

The opening is rather sharp, with a blast of white pepper mixed with petitgrain, resulting in a rather abrasive, bracing dry lemony note that can cause coughs if you take too deep a breath! (Don't ask me how I know...)

This phase doesn't last, however; it soon transforms into a sweet floral not unlike neroli within minutes. Definitely a safe workplace scent, clean and pleasing once you get past the opening.

Bubbles1964

I’m wearing Parfum de Marly’s Galloway on one wrist, and Lalique White on the other. I like them both, but prefer Lalique White which is a little more feminine on my skin, a little brighter but still has that laundry fresh scent.

Only downside is I get no more than 2 hours of life, so it’s almost like a body spray or bedtime scent for me. At the discount price on Fragrencenet, it’s a great bargain and reapplying often and liberally is easy to justify.

Lastly, pay no attention to the gender classification, anyone can wear this scent.

AdamChad81

Unique , beautiful scent. Very well blended top to bottom. High quality. Viscous, stays oily on my hand for quite a while . This to me is an outdoors scent. If you're indoors not moving around it doesn't project much but outdoors you and others will easily catch whiffs especially if there's a light breeze.. Perfect for wearing on a sunny spring day . Also perfect wearing in summer the first day after a cold front has moved through, bright blue sky, not a cloud in sight, slight breeze. Just perfect in my opinion.

Capt Haddock

I will just copy/paste what zuma_moon wrote as it describes my views perfectly except I find the first few sprays a little bit harsh for the initial 10 minutes or so. After that it's all good.

"Lalique and Christine Nagel deliver the goodness yet again!

Very pleased to have this scent in my collection. Works best as a versatile Summer evening scent in my opinion. I get a strong violet note in the opening along with pepper and citrus, as the scent dries down there is a presence of musk, wood and amber which gives the base a nice clean powdery sweetness.I usually use 4-5 sprays of this and get 6+ hours with subtle projection.

This scent is all about subtlety and notes sitting together. If you are looking for a loud scent this is not the one. If you want a scent which whispers and entices this could be for you."

White is good BUT - I rate it slightly less than my Lalique summer range, which comprises of Hommage, L'insoumis, Pour Homme and Encre Noir Sport. Just slightly though.

FrozenIcewind

Lalique brother of Perles. Very comfy, although not that intriguing as sister plus poor longevity and zero sillage

OhBrien

Beautiful opening with citrus and a slightly flowery/soapy scent, mediocre initial dry down to something woody, transforms on dry down once more to something musty.

The longevity on this is terrible. If it was more linear and kept some of the opening notes then it would be a great fragrance. Only useful for freshening up and giving you a boost in the morning. At least it is inexpensive.

felipebizarria.1

For me, it's a great bed time scent. So soothing, so lovely.

Metolord

The note that I get in opening and dry down is Vetiver and pepper ... spicy and cool scent it’s not warm..., not kind of spicy that screams. Safe , cool and peppery . DNA of Lalique like encre noir is feel able though...Easily can worn at office

dabatch

very nice smell, but poor longevity is absolutely killing it. 6/10

rocketteli

Still trying to understand this scent. Cant keep my nose off of it. . .

Scents & Vision

The fragrance is most suitable when the weather starts changing i.e by end of the season in my opinion.

It's fresh with a bit soapy characteristics with complex heart and base, and its complexity is due to its simplicity.

It may not be everyone cup of tea but I really enjoy it thus my opinion is biased. Its performance is well suited for any occasion during the transition period of the season.

Kind regards,

richmilton

@syarul thank you so much for the reply. Ive read a number of your reviews and I trust your judgement. We share much the same in our taste of colognes. I updated my review after buying it. My curiosity got the best of me. In short, Lalique White is AMAZING!

syarul

Richmilton, I have a bottle of Lalique White 125 ml.I don't have any issue about the longevity. Consistently this scent linger on my body from 9 AM until 6 PM. Yes, it's not a monster projection but you & people around notice it.

richmilton

This is on my buy list but it seems a lot of people are having longevity issues? Can some owners of this fragrance tell me how many hours they get in the sillage longevity before it turns into a skin scent? Thanks!

Update: I ended up blind buying it. First impression was wow a very classy summer fragrance for gentlemen 30+. Better yet, it smells like nothing in my collection. It has the vibe of Varvatos Artisian Pure... both ideal summer juices. For reason both remind me of the color white... Clean, fresh, soft, and kind. Along with Artisian Pure, this is my best buy of the summer. I'll update after I had a full day wearing to test the longevity. But frankly, even if I only got a few hours I'd still be happy because the scent is that good. Reapplying a few times throughout the day would not be a problem. I'm absolutely falling in love with the Lalique house. Amazing smelling fragrances with niche uniqueness at bargain prices. I honestly would of paid $100 for this juice. Smells like it costs much more than it does.

This stuff is not for cold days. It turns into a detergent after a while but in hot daytimes smells totally different. A pleasant, calm peppery musky vibe comes almost 4 hours. Btw; humidity is important. In dry weather it performs less. I really appreciate C. Nagel for quality, then Lalique for the price as well.

kaka brar

Another mass appealing everyday wear value for money lalique . Lasts 5-6 hours max.

Tyrel

This was my third blind-bought Lalique fragrance and, for the third time, i am most pleased. This starts of as a violent-summery scent, but it quickly dries down to a more moderate, soft citrus-ambery smell that I just adore.

It won't offend anybody.

jeremyn87

I am sure it did not happen like this, but I am imagining Jean-Claude Ellena giving a notice of resignation to Hermes. They wonder "oh crap, now what?!" Someone in charge of finding Ellena's replacement had just gotten a bottle of Lalique White. They go on Fragrantica, find out it was composed by Christine Nagel, then call her with a job offer.

Lalique White would be at home in a tall, slender, tapered, pillar shaped bottle sitting alongside Hermes' cologne collection. Upon initial spray, I immediately notice that it has the characteristics of Hermes' unique takes on classic eau de cologne themes. White's use of the lemon leaf is somewhat analogous to neroli; dry, floral, and a tad citrusy. It has a soapy violet note, which nods to Grey Flannel and Green Irish Tweed, aiding the leaf's bracing character. I do notice the black pepper, but it's not too heavy.

The scent doesn't evolve radically as it is drying down, other than the spices, tamarind, and cedar start to become more apparent and the lemon leaf gradually disappears. The cedar and spicy notes are not at all heavy handed or dark. They contribute to the fragrance's fresh and tart qualities, but also give it some legs to push out off the skin.

Longevity is actually really good. I get around 6 hours from it, maybe 8. That's not really great by general standards, but considering the nature of the composition, it's pretty impressive. It projects well for about an hour or so, then becomes more faint. It's a pretty gentle scent, so you can go a bit heavy on the sprayer

Masterpiece scent with weak sillage and longevity

Úrbez larres.lardies

Perfume with a very good aroma. It smells like pencil shavings with a strong presence of lemon and pepper.
It is a pity that his chair is ridiculous and his longevity is moderate.
Perfume: 9/10
Longevity and sillage: 4/10
If you want to smell this, no less than 7 or 8 sprays.

mackerror

Clean, citrusy, peppery. Very harsh in the opening then goes to the soapy-musky. Very pleasant during dry down. Can be a repulsive and harsh, pharmacy/laboratory-like at beginning. Sillage and longevity moderate. 10/10 for uniqueness.

shalimaraddict

This is a great scent from Lalique. Very fresh and citrus based, with a nice dose of pepper. It reminds me a bit of the scent of pencil shavings. Niche quality, good price. You can't go wrong with this!

tayyabforyouth

This fragrance literally smells like lemon-pepper seasoning. It starts off with a very interesting scent of lemon leaf (rather than the fruit itself) with white pepper (white pepper smells like black pepper but doesn't make you sneeze and is lighter). I don't think any other cologne smells like this. It's pretty amazing. I also smell tamarind - a herb often used in Southasian cooking - which is pretty rare in perfumery (I think this is the only fragrance that has the note). It's a very spicy take on lemon, and smells very natural (although it technically has lemon leaf and not lemon per se). I actually really love this. It smells like an Indian take on lemonade but in a fresh way. On drydown it becomes softer but retains the black pepper and tamarind - the lemon leaf remains but in the background. This is a unisex fragrance though may lean slightly masculine. As with other Lalique fragrances I've tried though, this smells great but sillage isn't that great while longevity is actually quite good on my skin, running at over 6 hours. The name 'White' is very apt, as this is the yang (or 'sunny side') to Lalique Encre Noire's ('black ink' in French) yin ('shady side'). Overall, this is a very nice and incredibly unique fresh fragrance that stands out from the crowd of generic aquatic or bright citrus fresh scents.

4.5/5

tzoks

Lalique White is like citrusy white flowery a little musky with a pinch of pepper. It smells like Honor Man by Amouage but just not as sweet and flowery, think of these citrus refreshing papertowels u get on the flight just with a little sprinkle of pepper on.

vaibsankhla

From all the reviews I could not picture how it would smell.

Blind Bought cause I am a Lalique Fanboy

Its a nice citrus, woody cologne type smell.

It borrows a lot from other frags.

Almost like the ones from Atelier Line but a bit less emphasis on the citrus.

It definitely borrows some woodiness from the Equus EDP.
I do not get as much tamarind as I expected to get.

Very gentlemanly, slight light vetiver undertone which makes it soapy like Creed Vetiver.

The pepper is sprinkled and kind of forms a cloud around the fragrance. adds a nice dimension to the mix.

Again, Lalique does not disappoint.
Very easy to wear.
All occasion
warm weather smell.
May not be for young/teenagers. It does come off bit asture/mature

Performance is average. stays for a 4-6 hours but it just becomes soft quickly.

8/10

Shadowlight

For an unknown reason this isn't a crowd pleaser, but I don't care. It's the most tranquilizing, brightest and summeriest scent I know. Picture a deep-blue sky with white fluffy clouds strolling by - this is how it feels. I don't care that the people mostly don't recognise the beauty of it, I'll wear it to start the day right.

psychopomp3x

I mostly get long lasting, strong, and synthetic cedar with a dash of real tamarind and walmart wax melt quality amber. On clothing, it lasts for days. I don't really pick up bergamot, lemon leaf or pepper, which are what I was hoping to smell more of. Acquired from overstock dot com. It gives me a bit of a headache. The wife loves it though, so at least I had somebody to give it to. Not a good blind buy for me.

Carlitos

GREAT fresh fragrance.
Price is also comming down so you better buy it fast. Safe enough for a blind buy.

Tazahr

This is a high quality perfume in under 30 $ / 125 ml.

Opens with bergamot blast then turns into lemony/green florals with a background of musk/woods.

Classical citrus floral musk colonia.

Safe, classy, light and elegant.

Better for hot weather and good for office.

Performance is acceptable.

o´gladiattore

Nice smell, but weak longevity.

PaulShalom

@oeyjanko36 I'm afraid you've been misled. I'm at a loss for word as to how anyone can not detect the citruses in this. It is a Citrusy, lemon leaf BOMB. ...and the violet is what is actually undetectable. This is instantly one of my new faves. Try a sample. You won't regret it.

Update: After wearing this several times, yes I can confirm the smell is Fantastic but I'm getting poor longevity 1 to 1-1/2 hours then it's skin scent city for 3-4 hours. I'm going to sample PDM Galloway as I've read that it has great longevity...but the ratings on this say likewise, which is why I blind bought it. We'll see.

Plogic

This is an un-offensive, comfortable scent that is appropriate for most occasions. I don't pick up the citrus notes as so many others do...It's very very powdery to my nose with violet dominating.

A completely winter-smelling scent to me, despite everyone else feeling this as a spring or summer fragrance.

Goes perfectly with a cashmere sweater on Christmas morning.

aet

Wow! Love at first whiff! what a great fragrance! It has a bright, citrusy old school cologne vibe similar to Acqua di Parma or 4711, but with much better longevity than either. A great scent for a summer day making you feel both cool and classy. the pencil shavings that have been mentioned by others IS there, but, to my nose, as an undercurrent that helps elevate the fragrance from being a one note sparkler by grounding it a little. another home run for Lalique....

dryz

i really really love this . i am always in to peppery frags. this is really elegant smooth citrusy pepper. i wish it lasts more

Stnik

Yep, great.

I smelled this before I'd heard of it. I was like, "Pencil sharpenings!" to the assistant in Fortnum & Mason.
She was like, "That be like £70 to you, bitch!"
I said, "You can't turn around to me and be like, '£70, bitch!'"
But she was.

It is so fresh, so wood shavings-y and lemony. I just think of little white blossoms and it makes me feel happy.

Lalique tip for London: Harrods and Fortnum's are about the only shops that stock Lalique. They charge more than double what you pay on ebay. Fortnum's for loose teas, Harrod's for sitting down to tea - you can do both with the savings on your ebay/Lalique purchases - boom-tish!!!

]ettison

totally agree with the "masculine" & "chill out" fragrance comments.

I got the impression that Lalique White was more formal than casual. But it does both very well because of the freshy-citrus notes.

The tamarind, cardamon, and nutmeg (spice notes)give the scent an individual identity. along with citrus notes, it all fucks with your head.

think of having lemon-aid at an india restaurant.

the violet and oakmoss are subtle, but evident as the top citrus notes fade. i need more experience / time with it.

A strong 7.5 like; I prefer these lighter fragrances which require more applications throughout the day, rather than a one-time overbearing frags.
Ages: 20-40

perfect non-generic summer scent .... perfect for hot weather ... chill out fragrance with mature gentleman vibe

jay.snow

i gave a lady friend of mine 7 testers to smell. out of the 100-299 dollar fragrances, she chose this one. i sprayed it on myself, and had a very "busy" night. this can be smelled shoulder to shoulder well into the next day. i myself can smell it on myself first thing in the mrning. go light on the how many sprays - 3 gave me mild head aches.

i like it, but she LOVES it (i'm talking she nearly wore me out, uncontrollable sexy loves it), and for $47 AUD @ 125ml delivered to my door with beastly endurance and respectable sillage, its hard to deny this from a collection.

at time of testing, it is deep into winter, and i am in my ealy-early mid 30s, white skin, victoria australia. typing with one broken dominant hand so please excuse the spelling mistakes

edit: even one spray is choking enough to lead to a mild head ache, overwhelmingly strong. do not spray on neck inner neck or chest! even back of head is a bit too strong for hours after me, like 2008 ish joop homme

sameh

Long story short , very elegant bottle , but unlikely too feminine for me although it's for men , maybe its my skin.

Asrul Afrizal Anuar

I must admit that this creamy aura creates a good atmosphere. It's not a smell to build admiration but to pick up subtle, many compliments

marko.refael

Butifull ..very.
Reminds me of jean Paul gultier flour de male. The original.
This has more citrus and the tamarind gives an effect like its a lemony Louisa. Or
Lemon grass its .
Performance is tricky .
After 1 hour i don't smell it on my skin but get wifts of it in the air and i so is people around me and I get complements.
4 hours ,then it calms for 2 or 3 hours more then if its get hotter for some reason it visits you agin. 2 sprays at the sides of the neck one at the back.
2 on the neck and one on each hand at the upper side of the arm :).
Enjoy

maiandros

It is a Lalique so you can't really go wrong with this. Ok silage and longevity are not great but it is a summer EDT, you can't expect miracles. Scent is really good. Clean, unique, elegant, not really sexy but charming, aristocrat in a way. I love also the simple but beautiful bottle and the reasonable price. Defenitely would buy it again!

Scent: 9/10
Silage 7/10
Longevity 7/10

TheFragrantPrince

Is it just me or is the dry down of this fragrance Molecule 02?

AndiJ10

Really a great fragrance ! I do get that "pencil shaving" type of smell and maybe that's what makes it unique. Great blending of lemon-pepper-wood. Clean, fresh, sophisticated, you can dress it up casual or dressed, day or night. Performance is decent

sjunaidalishah

I am definitely in love with this fragrance. Very unique fragrance For me. I am already big fan of lalique encre noire and white version keep the expectations high. I will definitely buy again.

FLoA

This one was love at first smell, but the poor longevity as i tested it on my skin made me doubt whether i should buy it or not. On the paper strip, what struck me at first was how clean yet deep it felt. The citrus in the top notes feels mellow next to the blast of pepper, making for a very fresh and zesty opening, but not hesperidic in the conventional way, it does not feel fruity at all. A slight musk lingers in the background, giving it this clean feel, while the violet gives ''body'' to the composition, with a more serious / floral note, adding depth. After about an hour, it becomes a skin scent on me, unless i spray generously, in which case the opening notes may become a bit too much... The drydown leaves me with something hard to describe, it smells edible, like aromatic herbs. A female co-worker commented that it smelled very manly, which surprised me because i felt it was rather on the delicate side...

Oldspice

I'm a big Lalique fan but Lalique White isn't a winner for me. What I get from this is soft cedar and pepper with some fleeting citrus on top. It doesn't strike me as fresh and clean as most reviewers are describing. What's fresh about pencil shavings?

Another one in my collection that has similar citrus, is more soapy/clean and performs better is Pino Silvestre Sport.

Oobleck985

Starts off with a huge blast of parsley on me, which struck me as odd (especially since it isn't listed as a note). Not green or herbal, but specifically parsley. Weird.

Becomes a peppery skin scent almost immediately, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It never cloys or overwhelms, instead it becomes this vague, clean scent that sticks close to the body. It won't turn any heads, it's a very safe fragrance for any occasion (though I'd mostly recommend it for the warmer months). At its price point, it's definitely worth a try if the idea of a clean freshie intrigues you.

ITBoa

It seems so far with many "white" themed fragrances, they are geared for those in the medical field (doctors, dentists etc). You know, people who get in real close to their patients in their profession and do not want to offend or annoy. This one fits right in, and is something I could definitely see a dentist or doctor pulling off perfectly. Mainly because it is a very subtle scent, but very fresh/clean and uplifting. Not dark, deep or dense in the slightest bit. But it has a professional, respectable and trusting smell to it.

Initially when I smelled Lalique White it reminded me of Ferarri Essence Musk (which is an all white bottle/theme as well). And I remember reading a review of Ferrari Essence musk where the person made a very convincing point that the fragrance would be perfect for doctors/dentists etc, and the white bottle itself is representative of a "clean/sterile" image. Same reason when you think of somebody in the medical field, you imagine them wearing all white. It's a universal symbol for being clean and sterile (even their logo supports that as well with the red lettering on the white bottle... red and white).

Lalique white is a very similar fragrance to Ferrari Essence Musk, which I am now starting to suspect that Ferrari was trying to copy this one when they made theirs (or Ferrari was trying to copy Parfums de Marly Galloway -- another "white" themed fragrance that is often compared to LW). There is differences when compared to Essence Musk, but the overall image in my mind of the smell is nearly identical. It's the smell of a sterile environment, clean and pure.

I've not done throughout testing on LW yet, but on my initial tests this is definitely one that is a super safe scent, meaning you can spray on liberally and probably still won't get smelled unless people come in real close to you within the first 2 or 3 hours. Perfect for doctors and dentists, but for most other people, probably a bit too weak and subtle to be an effective fragrance for getting noticed.

I would say that Lalique White is a great buy for people who aren't fragrance wearers and just want an extra boost to their out of shower freshness. And of course it would be absolutely perfect for those in the medical profession.

As I'm staying in Japan for a month this summer to study the language, I was looking for a light summer scent to take with me. Tokyo in August is hot and humid so it needs to be a fresh scent with good longevity. As Lalique White was on offer on notino, I blind-bougth a 100ml bottle and haven't regretted the decision. To me Lalique White smells a bit like Armani Eau pour Homme, Armani Eau d'Arômes and Bvlgari Thé Blanc. Where Armani Eau pour Homme delivers a blast of crisp tangerine, Lalique White comes across spicier, with a citrus top note. I would say that Lalique White is closer to Eau d'Arômes and Bvlgari Thé Blanc (at least in the drydown) than Armani Eau pour Homme. I'm going to give it some more thought but I think I'll take either Lalique White or Armani Eau pour Homme with me when I leave for Japan... or both of them, as I can't make up my mind ;-)
