Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Compose Music for Documentary About The New York Times

Nine Inch NailsTrent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed the original theme music that plays during the opening title sequence of new Showtime documentary series The Fourth Estate. The four-part docuseries, directed and produced by Liz Garbus, “examin[es] the inner workings of The New York Times during President Donald J. Trump’s first year in office,” according to a press release. The Fourth Estate premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 28. It hits Showtime on Sunday, May 27 at 7:30 pm. Eastern.

The Fourth Estate theme music is the latest collaboration from Reznor and Ross, who officially became a NIN member in December 2016. The duo won Best Original Score at the 2010 Oscars for The Social Network. They later soundtracked The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Patriots Day, and more. NIN released the Add Violence EP in 2017, preceded by the Not the Actual Events EP in 2016.
