He’s a hockey player, not a housekeeper.
Cameron Bowes is the face of the San Francisco Dragons, so when the team needs a gimmick to improve their fan relations, Cameron becomes the focus of the new video "At Home with a Dragon". Unfortunately for Cam, his bachelor pad looks like an earthquake hit it. Repeatedly.
She’s the sexy maid a teammate hires as a joke.
Dakota Kelly has been working non-stop since she was unexpectedly awarded custody of her young niece. Though the little girl's grandmother swooped in to help, the old woman's overbearing ways have left Dakota no choice but to work as a janitor and moonlight as a maid in the hopes of one day getting some much-needed space from her niece's highly controlling Nana.
Lucky for Cam, Dakota turns out to be the miracle worker he desperately needs, and he jumps at the chance to hire her as his live-in housekeeper. Soon, the two can no longer ignore their smoldering chemistry, and it seems turning their business relationship into a happily-ever-after for all three of them will be the next play. There's just one problem: Nana doesn't approve, and she's not about to let her granddaughter go without a fight.
Clean Sweep may be read and enjoyed as a standalone sports romance!

There are moments when the wrong size can prove to be the perfect fit. Clean Sweep highlights one of those times. Dakota and Cam have nothing in common. He's a playboy hockey player. She's a down on her luck housekeeper. What began with the best of intentions could be just right for this mismatched pair. He needs a clean house, she and her niece need a new beginning. Emotions are off the table, but their hearts have other plans. Willoughby is one of the best author's I've never read. She cuts right to the heart of matters with her witty dialogue, lovable characters and a heartwarming presentation that makes all the drama worthwhile. Clean Sweep is my introduction to the party. I couldn't help but fall in love with the show.

Cameron is a slob, that could bordering on hoarding trash. His NHL team is coming to his house to shoot a clip for the fans. He needs to find a maid to help him clean up his act fast, enter Dakota. Dakota brings a sense of balance in his life that makes him want to please her.How cliche is it to fall for his maid? But that is what Cam and Dakota are doing. Zinny her niece brings a sense of family that Cameron wants with Dakota.
Lots of good plot twists and hockey trash talk between the players. Loved the dogs and how they were loved.

super cute story

I loved this super cute rom com! I was first introduced to the Dragons in a Moo U story and immediately downloaded all the books in the series. I’m a sucker fir Hockey Romances and adored this story of Dakota and her cute niece Zinny and their love story in meeting Cam.

zinny and Cam’s storyline almost sucked me in more that Dakota and Cam’s but all together it left me with all the warm and fuzzies I love in a good book!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I give Clean Sweep: San Francisco Dragons (Book 1) 5 stars. I loved the pace of story, it flowed very well and the characters were both interesting and believable. The chemistry was instantaneous and led to some very interesting moments.

Kate Willoughby is a new author to me, one I’m sure I will follow closely. Great characters, good struggles for the main characters but yet nothing they couldn’t overcome. Well done!

Cameron and Dakota meet when she is hired to clean his home for a series of videos that his team wants him to partake in. Lucky for him, she is the miracle worker he desperately needs, and he jumps at the chance to hire her as his live-in housekeeper. Their smouldering chemistry is off the charts but Nana doesn't approve, and she's not about to let her granddaughter go without a fight. Who will win that battle?

Cameron Bowes is a hockey player, not a housekeeper. So when his team needs a gimmick to improve their fan relations, he becomes the focus of the new series of videos called “At Home With The Dragons” in which players are to conduct a recorded tour of their homes to give the fans a glimpse of their private lives. He doesn’t want to do it because his place looks like an earthquake hit it. His teammate hires a maid to clean his place. Will she get it done in time for the show?

Dakota Kelly works part time as an Eye Candy Maid, and part time as a custodian in a school. She has been working non-stop since she was unexpectedly awarded custody of her young niece, Zinnia. Though the little girl's grandmother swooped in to help, the old woman is overbearing and has left her with no choice but to work long hours in the hopes of one day getting some much-needed space from her niece's controlling Nana. Will she achieve her goal?

Clean Sweep: San Francisco Dragons (Book 1) is a contemporary romance about finding your way. Both have their issues, but with their growing love they manage to overcome them. Trust is key in this relationship.

I really loved this story.

This review was originally posted on my review blog Deanna Reads Books
This is a book that I definitely discovered due to another book reviewer, but I don't remember who! They were promoting book two in this series, so I decided to check out the first one. I thought Clean Sweep was a pretty good book, there were some things about it that bothered me, but I ended up enjoying it for the most part.
I really loved the fictional team in this book, the San Francisco Dragons. I also loved the dynamic between Cam and all his teammates. Cam is admittedly a little clueless, so I loved how they razzed him but also gave him some good advice later in the book when the romance parts start happening.

Dakota was a cool character, but it pained me to see how much she was struggling. I was really happy with the friendship she starts with Cam, especially when he sees how much her job as an Eye Candy maid was just not a good thing for her. Cam's heart was definitely in the right place in trying to help her out, but I also see Dakota's point on how everything would be perceived. Cam slowly coming to have feelings for Dakota was really sweet, especially after he had such an awful first marriage. He was also great with Dakota's niece Zinny! It was so cute.

One thing I really couldn't stand was the all the stuff with Zinny's grandmother. She offered to help Dakota out since she was struggling financially, but everything had to be on her terms. Even though her son (Dakota's brother-in-law) hadn't wanted anything to do with her. I wish we knew why that was, but it's a mystery that doesn't ever get solved in this book. I know there needs to be conflict in books, but I could have been happier if all the stuff with this mean lady just didn't exist.

All in all, I thought this was a pretty decent hockey romance, and I definitely want to check out the second book in the series.

Kate Willoughby is victorious with CLEAN SWEEP the first book in the San Francisco Dragons series. I adored this story. It was refreshing and original. Hockey defenseman, Cameron Bowes, is selected by his team to be on a television show that showcases his home. The problem is, his place is a complete mess. Enter, Dakota Kelly (aka Suzette), the maid his teammate hires for him, to clean his house.

CLEAN SWEEP was fun and captivating. The characters are genuine and likeable. Cam is a great guy but a complete slob. To his credit, he does work hard to become a neater person with Dakota’s guidance. He is sweet and great with kids. I was impressed how he speaks to Zinny about important topics. I respect Dakota. She is a devoted guardian to her niece, Zinny. Dakota put her life aside to raise Zinny and would do anything for her. Cam and Dakota complement each other.

Kate Willoughby did a fantastic job writing this story. There were unexpected twists and a solid plot. The characters were well-developed and grew throughout the story. They faced meaningful challenges and obstacles. I love the dogs. They added a lot to the story. This is a book that is hard to put down. It had a cute ending, that made the book feel complete. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I love a good sports romance. By definition that means a story that both makes you feel like you’re inside the life of s real pro athlete and that has a solid romance story, with a well rounded heroine, as will. By definition that, in turn, automatically included anything by Kate Willoughby. Exhibit A of this is Clean Sweep, the first in her new San Francisco Dragons hockey romances. The sports star here, yummy Cameron Bowes, is the epitome of a pro hockey athlete and it’s fun getting into his head. Even better though is our heroine, Dakota Kelly, who is a truly heroic figure, having been working non-stop since she was unexpectedly awarded custody of her young niece in the face of a grandmother who wants control of the child (and is quite willing to use the lure of her fortune to get it). Yes, you can tell right away that this has the makings of a great tale, and the story that follows is great indeed. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

-Kacie, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I throughly enjoyed this book. It’s fun, entertaining, ridiculously sweet, and it’s sports related. What more could you want?! I would have liked some actual hockey scenes in it but that’s my only complaint. I was pulled into the story from the get go and was only pulled away because life sucks.

Cameron Bowes is a SLOB! How anyone can live like that is beyond me! He’s a hockey player. The PR team is trying to make the hockey team and its players more relatable with their segments of “At Home With A Dragon”. In walks Dakota Kelly. She’s a “sexy” maid, hired by one of Cameron’s friends as a joke and to help get his house into shape. Dakota is also a school custodian and she has custody of her smart as a whip niece.

I loved Cameron and Dakota together. They balanced each other out with their differences but that also made them fight at times. I love how Cameron embraced Zinny and loved her like his own.

I definitely enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more of her work. I was surprised to find that I already had a few of her books on my kindle that I had forgotten about!

I love when an author grabs me from the first page and doesn't let go. I am totally new to Kate Willoughby but you better believe I'm going to be stalking her. Clean Sweep was amazing and an absolutely perfect story!

I love the whole concept with Cam, his messiness, and the Eye Candy Maid Service. It was so unique and different from anything that's out there and the author's sense of humor while writing was to die for. Add in that he's a hockey player with some really cool friends makes this story complete. Dakota was a heartwarming character that I immediately took a liking to. And Zinny was so darn cute.

Clean Sweep was exactly what I needed to read. There were heartfelt moments as well as some that had me laughing out loud. These are the kind of characters that I love and find a special place in my heart. This is what a great book is all about. Even if you're not a hockey/sports fan, there's just something about Cam and Dakota that you will love. Well-deserving of five stars!!

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
Clean Sweep a hot sexy romance featuring Cameron and Dakota who met in unconventional way. Cameron is a slob, and his house reflects that. Unfortunately his agent had book a real life TV program that films At Home with a Dragon.”
Cameron's friends send him a maid to clean his house, Dakota arrives from Eye Candy Maids, but can’t believe the mess. Cam is shocked when maid arrives and strips down to her bra and knickers, with suspenders and high heels.
If you read the blurb, I am not going to repeat it. This is a lovely romance, and Cam was wonderful! I want him, but alas he only had eyes for Dakota.
Dakota was a great female character, who after her sister death had custody of her niece Zin Bin as Cam called her. I think she stole the show, I’m blabbing again. So I really enjoyed this book, it is not all sweetness and light, but I had a big smile on my face and can’t wait for another one.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, sweet love, and heartbreak.

This is Dakota and Cam’s story. Cam is a hockey player but not a clan freak so when he becomes the focus of a new thing with the them he knows he might need some help. When Dakota comes in and starts cleaning up all his messes the chemistry is off the charts. Dakota is working as hard as she can in order to get out from underneath her niece’s highly controlling Nana. As they work together to get his life and place cleans up they fall hard. But one person is having none of it and will try all kinds of ways to break up the couple. Will they succeed?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

‘Clean sweep’ is the first book in a new ice hockey series. I was looking forward to reading this book. Not only because it’s about ice hockey (one of my favourite sports) but also because it’s a book from the writer Kate Willoughby. A writer whose stories I enjoyed in the past.

‘Clean sweep’ is a light, sweet, easy to read romance story. Perfect if you just want to relax with a good book. The story is told from both POV’s. And I like both characters very much. Cam was a good guy (a beta man), I love how he acted with Dakota’s young niece Zinny. I was happy that the writer let the relationship grow naturally, slowly. Yes, there was an attraction from the beginning but the writer let it slowly blossom into more. Dakota was a great aunt and woman. I enjoyed the interaction between the ice hockey players. The funny jokes and the serious talk.

I enjoyed the story so why did I it give it 3,5 stars only. Well….. because I, personally, found that the situation with the grandmother was solved very easily without much interaction and I found the reaction of Dakota a bit extreme on something that Cam did at the end of the story but that’s just me. I’m sure that other people have a different opinion on this. But still, I enjoyed the story and the characters very much.

I’m looking forward to reading the other stories of the San Francisco Dragons men!

Dakota is a single “mom” (she’s raising her niece), struggling working two jobs to make ends meet. She works as a school janitor and she moonlights as a maid at Eye Candy Maids service, where she cleans houses in lingerie. Cameron Bowes is an NHL player and as a joke, one of his teammates hooks him up with an Eye Candy maid, as Cam is about to be part of a player home visit, which will be video taped.

Dakota lives with her dead sisters mother-in-law, Ellen, who is very rigid and strict with Dakota and her niece Zinny. Once Dakota starts cleaning Cam’s house, they start to form a friendship, and when Dakota needs to bring Zinny with her to Cam’s house one day, things start to change.

Zinny is six years old and has no father figure in her life, so she instantly connects with Cam. Cam is incredibly sweet to her, and continues a tradition that Zinny’s father had started with her, but he changes it a little, as to not replace the tradition from her dad.

The story itself was good. It was a little predictable. I didn’t really care at all for Ellen, or her storyline. It was extremely predictable and a little annoying.

Cam and Dakota’s relationship was a slow build. Dakota puts Zinny first always, and Cam is very respectful of that. Dakota was a strong character, and I loved Cam. He was so sweet to both Zinny and Dakota.

My biggest complaint about this story is the plot lines that weren’t wrapped up. I loved Zinny and she really made the whole story. This also would have received a higher rating had the story been told in the first person.

This was a fast paced romance, but when you know you’ve met THE ONE, time isn’t to be wasted. Cam & Dakota are a match in heaven and Zinnia is the cherry on top of their cake.
There were some moments that felt off for me, but Overall I’m happy to have picked up this book.

Dakota was left with custody of her niece after her sister and brother-in-law died in an accident. Zinny is now a very smart 6 yr.old who is the light of Dakota's life, unfortunately Dakota and Zinny have been living with Zinny's grandmother and she is very strict, judgmental and tends to put Dakota down often. Working as a custodian and a housekeeper to save money for a place for just her and Zinny, Dakota puts up with a lot snotty attitudes but she never thought that Zinny would also suffer other peoples rudeness because of her aunts job. Luckily she gets a job housecleaning for Cameron Bowes, NHL hockey player and he's a sexy slob. His house is a disaster, his 2 dogs are adorable and he's majorly sexy and sweet! Cam is attracted to Dakota from the get go and he's more then happy to have her come to his house regularly to clean and keep him company. Cam enjoys his time with Dakota and before long they become good friends. Cam adores Zinny and he sees what a good mother figure Dakota is and when he gets the chance to step up and help Dakota, he does everything he can to make life easier for her and Zinny. Without even realizing what happens, Cam and Dakota fall for each other but Zinny's grandmother isn't going to let Zinny go without a fight. I really liked this story, I adored Zinny, bonded with Dakota and hope to find a man as caring as Cam!

Caleb is the epitome of a busy bachelor. His home is a pigsty because he has little time or inclination to pick up after himself. Freaking out over an upcoming video shoot presents the perfect opportunity for a friendly team member prank.
Eye Candy Maid service sends the perfect girl, and Caleb's mouth hits the floor when she changes into her sexy lingerie uniform. Though Caleb remains the perfect gentlemen, he is immediately interested in Dakota. What happens next adds suspense and heartbreak along with a love that will last forever.

Sometimes it's right in front of you

I love the start to this new series by Ms. Willoughby. It shows that even the most talented have faults and need help. Cam is talented but not at home. Dakota is trying to take care of her niece as best as she can. I love the camaraderie among the team and the support. The slow build to their relationship is just right. Can't wait to see more of the Dragons.
July 23, 2018
Dakota Kelly never expected to be raising her niece. However, when Zinny’s parents are killed in a car accident, she puts everything she has into caring for the young girl. While Zinny’s grandmother ellen has given them both a place to stay, she extremely close minded and overbearing forcing copious rules on both Dakota and Zinny. In hopes of providing Zinny with a home of their own, Dakota works as a janitor for the elementary school as well as moonlights as an “Eye Candy” maid to save enough so they can move out of Ellen’s house.

Pro hockey player Cameron Bowes didn’t want to be highlighted on the newest pr segment of “At Home with a Dragon” especially since he’s not the neatest person. When his teammate hires him a maid, he’s completely shocked when she begins cleaning his home in lingerie. She’s sexy and sassy, but even more importantly, she quickly helps Cam get his home camera ready. Realizing just how much he enjoys having his home neat and organized and knowing he’ll never be able to keep it up by himself, Cam hires Dakota to clean daily, even offering to hire her full time to also cook for him when he realizes she has a n associates degree in nutrition.

Cameron quickly finds himself falling for the friendly and outgoing Zinny . . .often offering to entertain her while Dakota works. The chemistry between Dakota and Cam also soars . . . giving everyone thoughts of making their relationship into something more, maybe even a happy ever after.

When Ellen threatens to take Dakota to court for custody of Zinny because she doesn’t approve of Dakota’s job choices or Cam, Dakota’s ready to fight with everything she has to keep her niece and Cam discovers that he is as well. Is it crazy to want the fairy take after knowing each other for only a few months or will insecurities pull them apart before they have a chance at the ending they all deserve?

I really enjoyed Kate Willoughby’s Clean Sweep. Cam seems like a typical bachelor, but is really so much more. He’s loving and caring, yet cautious since he’s already had one failed and unhappy marriage. His attraction to Dakota is immediate . . but it quickly goes beyond the physical to him just enjoying being with her. The way he bonds with Zinny is adorable on so many levels and will warm reader’s hearts!

Dakota has had so much thrown on her plate, but she is a fighter and never loses her spark to fight for those she loves and for what’s important to her. She’s understandably cautious, when it comes to giving up a job to become Cam’s girlfriend, yet follows her heart throughout this book while also maintaining her independence.

The darling of the book is Zinny. She’s smart and funny and sweet as can be. It’s easy to see how both Cam and Dakota are willing to do anything to keep her safe and happy. I thought the author did a fabulous job of developing her character and giving her character enough space in the book to really highlight her relationships with others, but didn’t let her completely steal the show from Cam and Dakota’s budding romance.

Clean Sweep was a really enjoyable and sweet read. 4.5 stars

Cameron Bowes might be a hot shot hockey player for the San Francisco Dragons, but as a housecleaner he’s a loser. When he is selected for the next “At Home with the Dragons” video, he’s panicked at the thought of his messy lifestyle on display for all to see so he gladly accepts his friend Max sets him up with a housecleaner to solve the problem.
What Max neglects to tell him is that the company he sends over is a cleaner from Eye Candy Maids and they dress in sexy lingerie. Once he gets over the shock Cam, finds “Suzette” to be an interesting person to talk to and who is also a big hockey fan. AS they work together to tackle the disaster of his house, he decides to have her come every week.
Suzette( real name Dakota) is working as a maid and a custodian to get enough money to support herself and her niece Zinny and move out of Zinny’s grandmother’s house. When Cam offers her a job as his housekeeper, she’s resistant but circumstances force her hand. As he gets to know her and Zinny, he finds himself wanting more than just a work relationship. Unfortunately the road to love isn’t easy and this couple has trouble in their future.
I really enjoyed reading this story. Even though it’s a tried and true theme-man falls in love with the housekeeper-there were enough other things going on in the book to keep it fresh. The “evil grandmother” and her machinations brought a little drama into the story. Dakota is a hard working girl trying to make a better life for herself and her niece and not sure she can trust the possibility of a future with Cam. Cam is a nice guy who’s been through a divorce and is cautious about jumping into another relationship. However, when he decides she’s the one, he embarks on a campaign to win her over.
This was a cute romance with plenty of sexy thrown in. I loved the couple, the secondary characters, the interactions between Cam and Zinny, and even the resolution of the evil grandmother plot. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I just loved this romantic friends-to-lovers story!
Dakota was such an inspirational character to read about. She’s having to deal with her late sister’s mother-in-law as her only option for housing for herself and her orphaned niece, Zinny. She works two jobs, one of which is cleaning homes – with a bit of a scandalous twist. She meets Cam when one of his teammates arranges for her to clean his home, and Cam is instantly captivated – both by her beauty and her uncanny ability to transform his life by not just cleaning his home, but by organizing it so he can keep it cleaner himself.

They have to stay “just friends” or she could lose custody of Zinny as a result of any implications of impropriety. This is the perfect situation for a strong friendship to develop into more, but at what point is it worth risking what’s at stake? Zinny’s relationship with Cam was so sweet, so perfect. She’s not trying to replace her late father, but she welcomes his attention. For his part, I think Cam fell in love with Zinny just a little bit before he knew he loved Dakota.

These are characters that feel so real, so right, and the situations they faced were authentic and heart-tugging. Dakota’s relationship with Zinny’s Nana was very well done, a true depiction of real life without any easy, quick solutions. From start to finish, this book kept me happily involved and enjoying every second spent with these new friends. The HEA was beautiful, heartwarming, and complete. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

As one of the most popular players of the NHL San Francisco Dragons, Cam Bowes was selected by the teams PR department to do an ‘At Home with the Dragons’ video segment to bolster team image and make them seem more accessible to the public. A video crew is about ready to descend on his house and Cam is panicked. Everyone on the team knows his place is a pigsty and to his relief, teammate Max hires a maid service for Cam.

The guardian of her six year old niece Zinny, Dakota and Zinny live with her sister’s critical and disproving mother in law and works as a custodian at the nearby grade school. Dakota secretly works as an ‘Eye Candy’ maid named Suzette, making more money in a weekend than she does the rest of the week and is anxious to earn and save enough money for their own small place. When she arrives at Cam’s door to clean, he’s surprised by the beautiful woman at his door, but it is a what the hell moment for Cam when she walks out of the bathroom in high heels and lingerie.

I’ve got to say, Cam is probably one of my favorite book boyfriends. Gorgeous and kind, he quickly becomes fast friends with Zinny when Dakota is in a pinch. Dakota is a mama bear when it comes to Zinny but she’s been beaten down and hurt by what life has thrown her way and she does not trust easily.

This was such a great book I hated to see the story end, but as book one of a new series, I can look forward to continuing the journey with the San Francisco Dragons. I was provided an advance reader copy of this book for an honest review.

CLEAN SWEEP is the first book in the San Francisco Dragons series, a new hockey series from Kate Willoughby.

I thought Dakota and Cameron were very likable characters. Dakota put her dreams and her life on hold to take care of her orphaned niece, Zinny. She was not afraid of hard work and was not ashamed of what she did because it helped provide for her and Zinny. Cameron was just an all-around nice guy and he never treated Dakota like a piece of meat. Instead, he seemed embarrassed for her at what she had to put up with just to provide for her family. He was there every time Dakota needed help and he was a wonderful father figure for Zinny. The only complaint I have against Cameron and Dakota is that I didn’t feel any chemistry between them.

Story wise, there’s hardly any hockey included, so if you’re after a hockey read, you won’t find it here. Additionally, there were some inconsistencies, some things left hanging, and some events that felt out of place, as though they weren’t put in the right part of the timeline. However, I was reading an advanced reader copy, and I know the author was still tweaking the book after I received my copy, so maybe these things have been fixed for the final copy.

CLEAN SWEEP is told in dual POVs and comes with a HEA for Cameron and Dakota. While it is part of a series, I’m assuming each book can be read as a stand-alone.

You hear the name San Francisco Dragons and you automatically think of Cameron Bowes one of their star players, he is a beast on the ice, and the perfect face of the team... only he doesn't really want the responsibility. The team is looking to boost interest and create a more connected fan base, so they have devised a plan to invite fans into the lives of their players, one home at a time, and Cameron's home is next up on the list. But he has a major problem, cleanliness isn't his forte, and his place is a complete disaster, so his teammate decides to offer up his services and call the cleaning company he uses, and hire Cameron a maid. And Cameron gets a maid alright, a scantily clad one that works miracles on his home and his heart!!

Clean Sweep is a top notch read that is certain to have sports romance fans singing it's praises, from the very first page this one will have you addicted and dying for more! I thoroughly enjoyed this first time read, it spoke volumes to my heart, and spoke volumes to my hockey loving soul, I absolutely loved it!! The story line was well written, the characters were superbly crafted, and the words were loaded with emotion to get the feels going. I highly recommend you take a chance on this one, it's a beautifully written story certain to leave your heart happy!

I requested an advanced copy of this title, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

A well-paced, relaxing read that gave me a sports romance that once I got stuck into I quite simply did not want to put down.
I loved the fact that the connection between Cameron and Dakota, and I especially liked the fact that we were left in no doubt from very early on that the feeling was very much mutual.
Cameron was feeling the pressure from the team when they brought their latest idea to engage with the fans to the table, they suggested that the team could make videos of what the player's lives were like when they were not on the ice, a sneaky peek at what they are really like behind closed doors…just one teensy problem with that …and that is the fact that Cameron is a first-class slob!
Hence the introduction of Dakota when she is hired to clean his house, ready for the onslaught of the cameras. Luckily, she was made for the job and it didn’t take much for him to ask her to take on the role on a more permanent basis, as his housekeeper…live in of course!
Dakota has her hands full with her day to day responsibilities, working two part-time jobs, all whilst she was doing everything she possibly can to be the best parent she can be to her niece Zinnia and as if that wasn’t enough she also had Nana to deal with and she was not a woman to be easily placated.
Nana was a fly in the ointment, but would her interference be terminal for Dakota and Cameron?
Great read, perfect for a lazy day by the pool in the sunshine!

Sorry to be the first 1-star rating. But I didn’t swoon over this book as many others seemed to have done.

I think it’s because this storyline suffered from trying to do too much; and worse, I thought it all unfolded in a pretty lame way.

The heroine works as a sexy maid. Later on, she gets fired from her second job bec a racy photo of her gets out. The “evil” grandmother that they’re living with throws her and her niece out and sues the heroine for custody. The heroine’s niece is being bullied at school. The hero, who by this time has fallen in love with the heroine, offers her a job as his personal chef/housekeeper and moves her into his house. And problems arise from that... and still more situations would crop up till they live HEA.

Things would get complicated and then resolved so quickly. It was a whiplash of very predictable conflict from one chapter to the next. 😣 Yet it was all so very bleh.

Sigh.

I wanted more flirty banter. More snark. More push and pull. I wanted the hero to be more alpha and naughty. I wanted the heroine to be more feisty and strong. Heck, I wanted more depth to the characters. Moreover, I wanted to feel connected to either of them. But as I was reading, I kept wishing for a boatload of emotion to go with the problems facing the MC’s —- but sadly, I felt like the descriptions just fell flat.

I especially hated that when I finished the book I felt like I should’ve spent my time reading something else. Ugh. Sorry.

4.5 Stars!
I loved Clean Sweep, a sweet romance with a little drama, featuring a very messy Hockey player, a smart and sexy maid, and her adorable six year old niece. I read the story in one sitting; it’s well written, funny with likeable characters and maybe one that’s not so nice.

“Cluttered is my grandma’s house where there is fifty years of stuff she can’t bear to throw away. Your place is a pigsty.”

Cameron Bowes, a Hockey player for the San Francisco Dragons, needs help STAT. His home’s going to be featured in a TV series and his messiness was a contributing factor to his divorce, six years ago. He’s referred to a maid service that offers a little entertainment, too.

Dakota Kelly works as a school custodian and as a sexy maid for Eye Candy Maid; strictly housecleaning and nothing else. Dakota works both jobs to support her niece, Zinny, since she's her legal guardian. Dakota and her niece rent a room from Ellen, Zinny’s grandmother, who helps with childcare, too.

“Sometimes Dakota thought of Ellen as the Fun Police.”

When Dakota’s hired to clean up Cameron’s home, he convinces her to become his live-in housekeeper. Soon the sparks are flying, along with clothes, and that’s when the drama starts.

This is the first book in the San Francisco Dragons series and I’m looking forward to reading more!

Sassy, sweet and sexy! A hunky hockey hero steals hearts quickly when he turns out to be a really nice guy. He's not looking for a relationship, but he doesn't hesitate to step right into one when he and Dakota start to connect. I liked them together, and the niece aspect of the story pulled at the heartstrings!

San Francisco Dragons hockey player Cameron Bowes finds himself in desperate need of a maid when the team sets him up to be the spotlight of a video expose "At Home With a Dragon". He works hard, but he's the biggest slob around! There's no way he can let the public see his house like this. Thankfully a friend sets him up with a maid ... a prank of a sexy maid, but a maid none-the-less ... and he finds himself liking her a whole lot!

Dakota Kelly moonlights as a maid in her spare time after her school janitor position. She's working as many hours as she can to raise enough money to get a place to live with her niece who she got custody of when her sister and brother-in-law died. Her brother-in-law's mother stepped in to offer them a place immediately after the accident, and she's eternally grateful for everything she's done for them, but she's driving her crazy! Her constant criticism and over-bearing ways are getting the best of her, so she needs to get out from under her foot ASAP!

Willoughby's hockey romances have been favorites of mine. She combines unique, diverse characters with just enough traditional romance to create a can't be put down read. Cam and Dakota are well rounded characters who make me care about what is happening to them. Cam is more than a hot, rich sports star. Dakota is a distinct individual with motivations and struggles. Ironically, the only failing of the story for me revolves around a cookie cutter character. Nana, the paternal grandmother of Dakota's niece, is the stereotypical bad mother-in-law. She is judgmental and self righteous. I would have liked to know why. What shaped her views? It is becoming more common to have a conservative, traditional character take on the role of villain. I dislike the trend for one major reason. I read authors like Willoughby because of their fresh, unique characters. I like characters that break genre expectations. I've seen more than one current issue in a different light because of such characters. Characters like Nana are a step back.
On the whole, I found Clean Sweep to be an enjoyable read with a missed opportunity. Readers who enjoy a good sports romance will find plenty here to lose themselves in.
