"Falter" isn't only romance. It's a book about a real-life situation which made me think about how life can be difficult but after all, there is "happily ever after" for everyone if you just believe.
Ryan and Fletcher show that no matter how many times you get disappointed in your life, one day you'll find your soul mate broken just like you and you'll finally start believing that life has its beautiful sides that make your past to disappear.

Wow! Every book that I read by this author has me completely blown away with her ability to transform words into powerful feelings. Carrie Aarons is a fantastic author and that shines throughout this story. It was incredibly well plotted, the characters were so endearing, and the pace of the story made it impossible to put down.
Ryan Shea has had a tough go at life and with relationships. She has a tendency to jump in head first with the end result always being the same; her ending up with a broken heart. So she has decided to swear off men and heads to Fawn Hill to spend some time with her best friend.
Fletcher Nash is the youngest of the Nash brothers and also a recovering addict. He is five years sober now and working hard to continue on this path. So for him this means staying single until he knows it's the real deal. He can't risk having any setbacks due to a failed relationship.
Ryan and Fletcher are both incredibly flawed. They both struggled internally with their feelings, but each in their own way. Every day was a struggle for him to maintain his sobriety. The raw emotion in him as he battles his addiction was absolutely heartbreaking to see. And Ryan, she had been burned so many times in love. And on top of that, did she want to get involved with an addict after growing up with a drug addicted mother? But the pull between them grew stronger each day until they were finally forced to face their fears head on.
There is no denying that Carrie Aarons is phenomenal author. Anyone who has ever read her work can attest to that. Personally, I believe that with Falter, she has really upped her game. Not only was the writing and story on par with her other work, but the attention to detail in Fletcher's personality felt real and personal. He wasn't always an easy character to love, and I'm sure he wasn't always an easy character to write. But in the end, she made not loving him impossible, and for that this book deserves all of the stars and more. ♥

Fletcher Nash is the brother the entire family worries about, he's got demons and while he's done his best to turn his life around there always seems to be someone checking in. He's followed the rules and played by the books, he's left no room for error, so why does the wild and wicked smart Ryan tempt his five years of single-hood so?
Ryan Shea has had her fair share of men with demons, her most recent didn't seem to know how to stay honest in a relationship. Coming back to small town Fawn Hill is meant to get her away from the drama, give her a chance to slow down and figure out her next steps. There is no room for men in her life, especially not the handsome Fletcher, even though she's attracted to him like a magnet.
"I shouldn't do this, admire her fox-like features or search for answers to questions I can't ask in those whiskey-colored eyes."
Vulnerability and trust are requirements for a relationship to succeed, they're also the two things that Ryan and Fletcher are unwilling to make space for in their current state. Fletcher is satisfied chasing his goal after fighting to remain sober for five years. Ryan is just trying to figure out what her life looks like with roots in one place, at least for a little while. We first met Fletcher in Fleeting at the height of his addiction and Ryan has been a secondary character through out the series. I've wondered where Carrie Aaron's was going to take Fletcher, how his story would change as we read the other novels, spanning a few years, first. We're rewarded with a completely different man, the kind of man who embraces his flaws, fights for his passions, and is the kind of man I call a book boyfriend. I loved reading about his hobbies, how his relationship with his family changed, and what the years looked like as he fought to leave alcohol behind. Ryan is a fairly unknown character for us, beyond her job and looks we don't know who she really is and boy is she interesting. More than Fletcher being my favorite brother, Ryan is my favorite heroine in the series. She's so tough and while vulnerability isn't her strong suit, she certainly overcomes that as she reveals her past, her beliefs, and faces the one thing she maybe didn't know as well as she thought, love.

Tackling deeply-rooted trust issues, forgiveness, addiction, and more, Carrie Aarons has created a beautiful, realistic romance with Falter. Fletcher and Ryan came to life for me and I loved getting to know them both separately and together. Their relationship isn't easy, there's no insta-love here, but the passion they have, both for life and each other, drives them together. If you've not met the Nash brothers yet, now is the time to do so, because Falter has the best brother in it and I insist that this series be read in its entirety and not as individual standalone novels.

I was looking forward to Fletcher's book this entire series, so I'm a bit sad that I didn't love it.
Things started off well enough. We have Ryan and Fletcher, two very damaged characters who are working on their own self-growth and focusing on themselves. They've been eyeing each other for years, as their friends and family have become intertwined in relationships and marriages. However, each have decided to abstain from relationships for the foreseeable future.
If you read the series in order, which I would suggest, you have seen Fletcher's struggle with alcohol and addiction, and his subsequent journey toward sobriety. It's something he takes seriously as he doesn't want to go down that path again, but as a result, he's closed himself off to relationships, with the expectation that the next time he dates it'll be with his future wife. Ryan comes from a broken childhood and an addict mother that abandoned her, resulting in Ryan using relationships and men to fill the void in her life. Recently out of a bad breakup, she comes to stay with her best friend, Presley (Fleeting), to figure out her life and what she wants out of it.
I adored how slow burn this was and all of the comfort/healing vibes. While they are individually working on themselves, they are also helping each other. Past characters in the series are heavily featured and we got an update on how they're doing. Where this started to go wrong for me, however, was around the 70% mark. First off, nothing was really driving the plot at this point, so the story was really just coasting through little time jumps so we could get to where they'd been together a couple months. Then, some drama occurred because they couldn't figure out how to talk to one another and lashed out instead. I found myself annoyed the entire last 15% of the book, just pushing through to finish, and didn't care that much by the time I got to the ending. Additionally, the ending itself was kind of lackluster. I do think the subject of the drama was important but just wish it had been resolved in a different manner.
The writing was also rather heavy-handed and obvious at times. Some subtlety and more showing would have benefitted the story. Lastly, I noticed some continuity errors in regard to the timeline. In Flutter, Fletcher and Forrest (who are twins) are 25, which can be deduced from the fact Penelope is 31 and Forrest is six years younger than her. In Falter, it states that the story is taking place two years after book three, but Fletcher is now 29. I thought perhaps it was a single error, but Fletcher is five years sober, and he went to rehab at 24 in Fleeting. Therefore, I concluded that Fletcher must indeed be 29 but the story is actually taking place four years after Flutter. I could be wrong, but I'm a stickler for annotating and like to keep track of timelines in books, so it bothered me.
Overall, I adore Fletcher and wish I had loved his book as much as I thought I would.

Falter is the last book in Carrie Aaron’s beloved Nash brothers series that features the youngest of the brothers, Fletcher. It was incredibly well crafted, the characters were endearing, and the pace of the story made it unputdownable.
This story was captivatingly beautiful. The struggle with addiction was painted with a stark clarity and the reality of it was difficult but also so compelling. To say Fletcher and Ryan’s story was an easy journey would be a lie. But, that said, it might actually be my favorite. I love an overcomer. Falter is touching, heartbreaking and beautiful.
Carrie Aarons has done an outstanding job with this book and this whole series. She has written a wonderful series that delivers on so many levels. From small town romance, to single moms, to finding your home in the least expected place, Carrie hits every romance mark in the Nash Brothers series. I completely fell in love with the whole Nash family and the town of Fawn Hill. It's a super sweet series and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves small town romances.

But what she didn't expect was that as soon as she arrived, her gaze would cross with Fletcher, the youngest of the Nash brothers. Fletcher Nash, 29, has been sober for five years and his head has been in it for this time until Ryan arrives in town, and again he will feel drunk, but not on alcohol.
Both characters were so perfect and sweet, each with their problems, and although in the end chaos is unleashed, both put their feet on the ground and realize their priorities. I always had a preference for this brother, and the truth is that I am not disappointed. From past to present his change is brutal throughout this book, he tries to go the right way, with a thorn in his heart for past things. Instead, Ryan went the same way with fear and uncertainty, but in the end, everything is balanced.
I am very sad to have finished with these brothers that I read in a week, and each of them was so special, for different reasons. I love all the members of this family.

Oh Emm Geee!!! I didn’t think I could fall harder for Carrie’s Nash brothers but Fletcher has knocked it out of the park. This former bad boy has turned his life around, and is now on the straight and narrow. Carrie doesn’t hold any punches when it comes to Fletcher’s addiction. The way she describes the deep-rooted need and pure want is almost harrowing at times. It made this story very real and gave us a through insight into his mind.
Ryan has her own hangups where addiction is concerned, but it explains how they gel in the way that they do.
Fetcher’s got a pretty average job, and doing his woodworking in his spare time. Life is good, but something is missing- he just doesn’t know what it is until Ryan Shea walks back into his life.
Ryan is running from the fallout from her latest disastrous relationship. She’s come to Gawn Hill to recuperate and kick back. She’s not planning on dating for the next twelve months, that is until she sets eyes on Fletcher Nash.
They both ‘get’ each other and that’s what holds them together in the end.
Fletcher vulnerability and dedication to his sobriety make him a soulful character, but it’s impossible not to fall in love with him, and Ryan as well. She’s not as cool and collected as she shows to the world and deep down, she just wants a man who will love all of her. That man is Fletcher.
I absolutely loved this book. It was bittersweet as it was the last in the series and I’ll be sad to see them go. Maybe we’ll catch up in a few years when the younger crowd get their stories??
Ryan has her own hangups where addiction is concerned, but it explains how they gel in the way that they do.
Fetcher’s got a pretty average job, and doing his woodworking in his spare time. Life is good, but something is missing- he just doesn’t know what it is until Ryan Shea walks back into his life.
Ryan is running from the fallout from her latest disastrous relationship. She’s come to Gawn Hill to recuperate and kick back. She’s not planning on dating for the next twelve months, that is until she sets eyes on Fletcher Nash.
They both ‘get’ each other and that’s what holds them together in the end.

A nice end to the series, an I liked Fletcher and Ryan's roamnce. I appreciated that both were builing themselves backup after their own struggles an were able to find strength in themselves alongside each other. The pacing was a little off for me - a little too quick paced an not as developed at points, especially considering some of hte heavier topics the story deals with. The enitre Nash family story is wrapped up nicely and I liked seeing everyone get their happier ever afters.

The final book... Damn, it is always hard to read the last book of a series, especially if it is one you adore.
Synopsis:
Ryan Shea, a tech genius, has made terrible choices when it comes to men and she has decided to take a hiatus from men while she decides what to do with her life. For that, she decides to move in to the small town her best friend Presley has fallen in love with. Fletcher Nash has gone through a rough path and his demons are present every single day of his life. Falling in love is hard when you’re a recovering alcoholic and Fletcher has decided he is not ready for it.
Ever since they first met, sparks flew and they refuse to vanish. When Ryan moves to his town, Fletcher finds it hard to fight his feelings and the lust pulling them together. When they decide to give in to the lust, they swore off feelings as they are not looking for a relationship.

Their dynamic might have been one of the best of the entire series (perhaps excluding Presley and Keaton) because of how relatable they were. Two people afraid of falling in love, each for their own reason, find the attraction between them too strong to deny but too scary to concede.
The character development is mostly done through how each of them learn how to deal with their own emotions and the demons of their past. The trauma our parents sometimes pass to us can affect us our entire life and the decisions we made when we were young kids can transform into terrible consequences we have to deal the rest of our lives.
The development is very hell done, although I wish the book was longer.
The stories of the main character remained true to each of their individual books and it tied neatly in the final book and the epilogue.

Quick Note: If you have not meet the Nash brothers by Carrie Aarons, I recommend starting from the beginning because these are standalones, but they all build on each other.

Falter by Carrie Aarons is book 4 in The Nash Brothers Series. This is the story of Fletcher Nash and Ryan Shea. I thought this could be a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Ryan is wanting to recharge and take a break so she heads for Fawn Hill and her best friend. There Fletcher has moved past some much and is trying to stay focused on sobriety and working toward his dream of an artist. Although he is past the time frame that you have to stay out of relationships he still doesn't want to enter into one and just wants to stay focused. Ryan knows Fletcher has a whole lot of baggage that she should stay away from but their attraction is to strong.
Enjoyed their story.

The "baby" Nash brother has his own story, and it is a great one. His story is an emotional one that takes him from the brink of destruction from alcohol and drugs, to a life of sobriety. He talks openly and honestly about his path to get there, and it is so easy to love and admire him. Ryan has also had a rough road getting to where she is in life. She is a strong and compelling character. They have known each other for years. The chemistry has always been there, but now we get to watch their deeper connection. It is a great story that outlines how love isn't always easy, but it is always worth it. This is the last book of the Nash Brothers series, and I am already missing them. Carrie Aarons does not shy away from the difficult subjects; she writes with passion and compassion. Highly recommend diving into the Nash world.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review. I definitely felt the attraction between Ryan and Fletcher. They were perfect for each other although Fletchers sobriety definitely was a challenge for them both. While their was some drama towards the end it was a good story with not too much craziness. I think Fletcher may be my favorite Nash brother. Good job Carrie!

When Ryan comes to town to stay with her best friend Presley, the two are thrown back together. The few times they’ve been around each other before, there has always been a pull that they have both tried to avoid. As they spend more time together, it is hard to deny that pull, but as they navigate through their budding relationship, are either ready for this to be more? And can Ryan separate her past from her future?
I didn’t think I would love a Nash brother as much as I loved Forrest, but Fletcher just took the top spot. This book wasn’t just about two people falling in love, this book was about a man fighting addiction and a woman trying to overcome her past. Hands down one of the most amazing books I’ve read in a while. I love that Carrie didn’t shy away from talking about addiction and how debilitating it can be even when you are 5 years sober. Epic story for the last Nash brother! We have seen Fletcher from the addict stage to his later years in life where he is now sober and just fighting the daily addiction demons. He has a supportive family and has steered clear of relationships. But Ryan is one temptation he can no longer fight off. Their sparks are ever present and they keep getting into fateful situations where they are tested. These two both are fighting demons and must figure out how to work together to overcome them. Carrie Aaron’s has truly given them an amazing story they both deserved! Great series and best read in order!

Her relationship with Fletcher makes her rethink and evaluate whether her demons are worth facing for a love that has the potential to be epic.
A sensitive, dramatic book, with strong, serious themes, but it was conducted in such a way that the reader felt the dilemma of the characters, experienced their anguish and hoped for a happy ending. A great journey.

At last, Fletcher gets his story told. Man, I really wanted to be inside his mind and see how he was doing. It was awesome to see how he lived his life with addiction and get to see him overcome it every single day. He was strong in his weakness. I loved watching him work to have a normal life and working to do what he loved and boy that man was talented. I'm glad that he found a passion and that passion also gave him the reprieve from his struggle with cravings.
Both Fletcher and Ryan had their own demons which happened to steam from the same problem. Fletcher was still fighting off his cravings for a bottle, even after 5 years of sobriety. And he knew it was something he would struggle with every day, specially on the hard ones. It's why he had remained celibate and didn't want to get into a relationship unless it was serious. Now, Ryan her demons had been following her since her childhood, having an addict mother who never cared for her and only reached out when she needed money, that messes with someone's head. And Ryan had a lot of issues that were born from that. Dating the wrong guys, pretending things were perfect, never letting anyone love her for herself, not being able to settle down in one place. Not until she took a vacation in Fawn Hill, not until Fletcher Nash.
Even with their demons and the promises they made to themselves, the connection they share from the first moment their eyes connected at Keaton and Presley's wedding, is impossible to deny and to ignore. With each new encounter, the chemistry grows stronger and becomes even more impossible to ignore. They decide to take things slow and see where it goes, only with the deep connection they share, they forgo that really soon. After weeks of bliss and the beauty of a new relationship, things start to get real and the real issues of their pasts start to arise. Falter is the final book in The Nash Brother series.
I have truly enjoyed reading about these four brothers and their small-town community in Pennsylvania. Falter is Fletcher's book, the youngest of the brothers (37 seconds after his twin lol).
Carrie does a really great job in giving us more insight into both Fletcher and Ryan. These two are the most complicated characters in this series as the both have pasts that are littered with bad choices and/or crushed promises. Carrie doesn't delved too deep into any of the problems to where the book gets too dark, but she gives us just enough to understand the depth of their hurt.
Fletcher and Ryan compliment each other very well all the while being total opposites. I love that they both know when to push the other and when to pull back. I enjoyed the pace these two moved at as they both were not wanting to get into anything serious until they felt centered in their own lives. With that being said, I was not thrilled with how this book ended and for that alone, I dropped it a star rating. It felt too abrupt and too rushed. I wanted more before that epilogue.
Overall, Carrie ends this series nicely and delivers a very sweet and charming series for these four brothers and their women. If you love small, hometown stories, definitely hit this series up. Each book can be read as a standalone however, it's best read in order.

Falter by Carrie Aarons is the fourth book in The Nash Brothers series and gives us Fletcher Nash’s story and it was everything I wanted and more. A recovering addict, Fletcher has been sober for five years. He is determined to stay that way. Ryan Shea is done with men. She needs a break after her last breakup and gets away to find it.
I absolutely loved Fletcher and Ryan. Both were broken in different ways and not wanting to fall until it was real and never saw the other one coming. Fletcher was strong and determined but haunted by his past. Can he trust himself to move forward? Rhea is haunted by her own past. Can she ever truly let someone in, much less Fletcher?
Falter by Carrie Aarons is by far my favorite, but I highly recommend all of the books in the series. Falter was and emotional, touching, and at times heartbreaking story about family and second chances. It touched me in so many ways.

I absolutely adored this book! I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review, and I cannot describe how excited I was to move onto Fletchers story after reading ‘Flutter’.
Fletcher was the one Nash brother I couldn’t wait to hear about. A recovering alcoholic who has sworn off women to complete his full advised year of sobriety, meet cool computer savvy girl who is badass and is trying hard not to fall in love. It had all the makings of the perfect sweet romances that I fall head over heels for.
Fletcher is an admirable character, and I have found myself drawn to him from the previous Nash brothers books I have read (Flutter and Forgiven), and Ryan is the cool girl that you can relate to as a reader.
This is the fourth book of the series, however can be read as a stand-alone -but you will want to read the others - as it is romance writing at its best.
Thoroughly enjoyable read.

It had all the makings of the perfect sweet romances that I fall head over heels for.
Fletcher is an admirable character, and I have found myself drawn to him from the previous Nash brothers books I have read (Flutter and Forgiven), and Ryan is the cool girl that you can relate to as a reader.
This is the fourth book of the series, however can be read as a stand-alone -but you will want to read the others - as it is romance writing at its best.
Thoroughly enjoyable read.

OMG is what I said when I finished this book. This is an amazing story that had me laughing and crying and screaming at my kindle because Ryan and Fletcher were amazing just simply amazing. I mean the flow of the story went so well that before you knew it it was time for bed and I stayed up late into the morning to finish this book because Fletcher and Ryan were calling to me to finish the story.
Ryan has ha d a rough life and she has had so many wrong relationships she decides to move to her best friends town of Fawn Hill. It is there she is going to start a new life and not make mistakes she has made in the past. This seems doable until she meets the youngest Nash brother Fletcher.
Fletcher is gorgeous and has his own demons he lives with everyday. He is five years sober and he struggles to stay that way everyday. Then he meets Ryan and his walls that he had built are slowly coming down. But can these two survive their pasts to make a future or will they remain friends?

Another fantastic story from this wonderful Nash Brothers series. I’ve enjoyed every one of these stories and Falter completed the series perfectly.
Ryan and Fletcher were perfect for one another even though they had a number of obstacles to overcome. Fletcher is recovering addict who has been sober for a number of years. Although he’s doing so well his temptations are always going to be there. He doesn’t think He deserves Ryan.
Ryan however has her own issues and having experienced a life of abandonment and being let down by those she loves can she move on and let herself love again.
I really enjoyed this story which had a fantastic storyline and kept me turning the largest from start to finish. A lovely round up to end what has been a fantastic series.

Of this series, I was most excited to read about Fletcher as you see the impact he has had on his family through the previous 3 books. Fletcher is a recovering alcoholic who is going on 5 years sober. Ryan Shea is the girl who may break through to him, even though she continually fights her own demons. Ryan has decided to swear off men for a time as she comes to Fawn Hill for a break from romance and to get her life back together.
I feel like Fletcher and Ryan have always been end game but knowing how her relationship with her mother affected her life, I was interested to see how it would all pan out. This book was not without it’s up and downs for the couple but I loved the conclusion to this series!

Fletcher!! I don't want this series to be ending! I love all of the Nash brothers and Fletcher might have taken the top spot...hard to decide! Fletcher and Ryan both have their battles to overcome...lots of emotion here and I really connected to them, although I don't face the same battles. Carrie Aarons is an awesome writer who really gets you in the FEELINGS.

I have loved every single Nash brother, but I just knew Fletcher was gonna be my favorite. And he definitely was!

I felt like I waited and waited for Fletcher. I watched his pain and struggle throughout all his brothers books and my heart broke a little each time. To say I was thrilled when he got the girl would be an understatement. I was ecstatic!
This book do's not gloss over addiction. It doesn't let "boy meet girl" and all become right within his world. It showed the struggle Fletch had to maintain his sobriety. It was really nice to see him soar along with Ryan, who also had some demons.
They did it their way and it was perfect.
The bonus epilogue was like a birthday present. I really enjoyed this book and the entire series.
