Yesterday, Trump posted a self-praising tweet talking up his talent for writing.

The President tweeted: "After having written many best selling books, and somewhat priding myself on the ability to write.

"It should be noted that the Fake News constantly likes to pour over my tweets looking for a mistake."

But the Scots writer picked up on Trump's bungle over the use of the incorrect spelling of "pore".

Rowling used all 280 characters to laugh at the President's error, only breaking up the tweet to "draw breath" in the middle of her laughter.

She followed this up with two more tweets full of giggles, one quoting his "pour" mistake and the other taking a dig at Trump's use of a ghost writer.

She signed off the thread with a final dig at his spelling.

Rowling posted: "*wipes eyes, tries to control breathing*

"Seriously, @realDonaldTrump is the Gratest Writer on earth."

Her thread of tweets racked up 49,000 retweets and 278,000 likes since she posted last night.

And today, she has continued to troll the President after he deleted his original tweet and re-posted one with the spelling error corrected.

Once again, the novelist filled her tweet with laughter, pausing only to highlight the now-corrected spelling.

Rowling commented: "Someone told him how to spell 'pore'"

Her tweet received 20,000 retweets and 97,000 likes since it was posted in the early hours of this morning.

This isn't the first time the multi-award winning author has taken to Twitter to slate the President.

In January, Trump tweeted about cancelling his proposed visit to the UK.

And Rowling responded by simply tweeting a chicken emoji - suggesting that the President is too afraid to face the British public.
