From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley comes a new story in her Dream Man series…

Charlotte “Lottie” McAlister is in the zone. She’s ready to take on the next chapter of her life, and since she doesn’t have a man, she’ll do what she’s done all along. She’ll take care of business on her own. Even if that business means starting a family.

The problem is, Lottie has a stalker. The really bad kind. The kind that means she needs a bodyguard.

Enter Mo Morrison.

Enormous. Scary.

Quiet.

Mo doesn’t say much, and Lottie’s used to getting attention. And she wants Mo’s attention. Badly.

But Mo has a strict rule. If he’s guarding your body, that’s all he’s doing with it.

However, the longer Mo has to keep Lottie safe, the faster he falls for the beautiful blonde who has it so together, she might even be able to tackle the demons he’s got in his head that just won’t die.

But in the end, Lottie and Mo don’t only have to find some way to keep hands off until the threat is over, they have to negotiate the overprotective Hot Bunch, Lottie’s crazy stepdad, Tex, Mo’s crew of frat-boy commandos, not to mention his nutty sisters.

All before Lottie finally gets her Dream Man.

And Mo can lay claim to his Dream Girl.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

What do you get when you combine Kristen Ashley’s Dream Man series with her Rock Chick series? This book… and I loved it! Quiet Man is a novella from KA, but it’s as long as most of the books I read (about half the size of a lot of KA’s books).

Charlotte ‘Lottie’ McAlister is the sister of Jet Chavez (Rock Chick) and she’s got a stalker at work. Smithie, her boss and friend, is concerned and hires one of Hawk’s guys to play bodyguard till they can catch the creep. Mo Morrison is a commando and the guy put on Lottie 24/7. He usually has no issues with his jobs, he’s a professional, but being Lottie’s bodyguard is difficult.
Charlotte McAlister was a class act. Funny. Smart. Talented. Thoughtful. Together. Professional. And sexy AF. Yeah. This job was totally going to be torture.

These two have it bad for each other, but there in a place where they can’t act on it. Not while Mo is body guarding her and the perp is still out on the loose. But once they catch him… all bets are off.

This book gave me all the feels from the OG Kristen Ashley books. I loved the relationship between Mo and Lottie. It was the perfect dream man/dream woman paring. Lottie is a strong and independent woman and exactly what Mo needs. Mo is the strong and silent type, a huge guy, but has a heart of gold. I loved them together so much. Not only them, but getting to see all of my favorite characters was so great. And not only that, but meeting Mo’s friends and family… I’m gonna need some books about these new commandos!

If you’re looking for a great romance with fantastic characters, this is the book for you. And if you’re like me and have read all the Rock Chick/Dream Man books, you’re in for a real treat!!!

description You might want to sit down because I didn't completely hate this book. 😂 It was better than the steaming pile of burning poop that was Rush's book, and it was also better than the less steamy poop that was Sharleen's book. 💩 Was it as good as any of the old Rock Chick books, no. 👎 However, I've given up on ever seeing a book from KA that I enjoy as much as that series. 😒 In any case, I am just going to list the things I liked and the things I didn't like in bullet form and leave it at that...📝

THE GOOD
-- Smithie...I seriously love that guy! 💗
-- Tex (same as above) 💞
-- Hot bunch cameos 😘
-- Eddie's kids...they were super cute. 👦👦👦
-- Lottie...she was a likable heroine. 👩
-- MO...he started off rough (more about that in the negative section), but grew on me as the book went on. ☑
-- The over descriptions of things (home decor, food, clothes) didn't seem to be too bad in this book. 🙌
-- The new guys that will star in her upcoming series (except Mags..more on that below). 🔥
-- They actually used condoms and had the "clean" talk. 😂
-- No ridiculous nicknames, although we do get some "HONEYs" 😂
-- Cute epilogue. 😚

THE NOT SO GOOD
-- The stalker plot was weak and wrapped up halfway through the book. 🔪
--That Mo had just got dumped ONE month previously after living with his ex for TWO years...there was really NO reason that he had to just be one month out of a long-term relationship. I wish it had been longer. 👎
-- As mentioned above, Mo just broke up a month prior, yet still had time to screw two randoms. 😒 (Of course, Lottie has been going through a dry spell) 😠
-- The ad nauseam mentions of the aforementioned ex. Tammy is mentioned 54 times (and we get one over the top ridiculous run in) over the course of this book. 😠
-- The two ridiculously over the top run ins. One with Tammy where Lottie acts like a psycho and one with Mo and a neighbor <-- this one was literally several pages long and went NOWHERE. 👀
-- Mo was kind of jugdey about Lottie stripping and strippers (in general), and he was never 100% on board with her doing it. 😒
-- I also found MO to be quite insecure and almost BETA like for a good part of the beginning of this one. 🙈
-- Wasn't a fan that Lottie was the pursuer of the relationship. 😒
-- This book could have (and should have) been about 50 pages shorter. 🔪
-- As much as I enjoyed the intro to the new bunch of heroes. I could have done without a play-by-play of Mags sex life. 🙉 He is up as the first hero in the new series (DREAM), and I KNOW I will remember ALL about his parade of women we get to hear about in this book. 🙊
-- It also appears as if every one of these guys will be paired up with a stripper from Smithies...not sure how I feel about that. There was already too much "stripper morality" talk in THIS book. 👀

So yea, I didn't hate it, and I appear to be like Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain because "I wish I knew how to quit you." KA, because I am 100% sure I will be suckered into reading that new series...sigh. 😂😂

I am a huge (HUGE) fan of the "Dream Man" series and the "Rock Chick" series. I have read and loved every single book. And so when I found out that Lottie was finally gonna get her happily ever after...and with one of Hawk's commando's too...I was tickled pink !!

tickled pink gif - Google zoeken

I also found out that a "Kristen Ashley Novella" is just as long as most of the novels I normally read. There was nothing "short" about this story. Though, I can always so with some more ...especially when it comes to the "Rock Chicks".

For those of you who don't know Lottie, (have you been living under a rock??) she is Jet's (Rock Chock Resue) sister. She works as a stripper/dancer at Smithies and seeing all the Rock Chicks getting paired off, has left her kind of lonely.

I want love gif - Google zoeken

That's not the worst of her problems though, because it seems she's got the attention of a creepy stalker. Smithie, being the awesome boss that he is, is not taking any chances and since asking the "Hot Bunch" for help is out of the question....Commando's it is :P

As one of Hawk's commando's,  Mo is assigned as Lottie's 24/7 shadow until they can catch this creepy creeper.

commando gif - Google zoeken

There is just one little problem...The chemistry between these two is through the roof. The UST could be cut with a knife !!! But MO is insisting on staying professional. He can't protect her if he get's distracted.

So there is only one thing they can do. Make sure they find this creep as soon as possible...before they both combust !!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor sexual tension gif

I absolutely loved this (not so) short story. It really gave me old KA vibes. It also made me go back and do a "Rock Chick" and "Dream Man" re-read....again.

I love how Lottie finally got her own Dream man...she really deserved it !!!

I can't wait for the new spin-off series...hopefully time flies ;)

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

”QUIET MAN” is categorized as a novella in the “Dream Man” series but seemed to be more of an installment of the “Rock Chick” series instead. I’ve never read any of the “Rock Chick” books but I’m sure die-hard KA fans will be excited for the chance to spend more time with these particular characters. While I liked the Hero and Heroine, I felt the plot could have been better. There was little to no angst and hardly any action. I’m used to a lot of danger and jam-packed action in the “Dream Man” series and this book was highly lacking in both categories. We get the signature over the top Alpha Male KA Hero in Mo Morrison and an endearing Heroine in Lottie McAllister. Once Mo and Lottie were able to pursue their attraction for each other, the steam level is off the charts HOT, but their “insta-love” romance made this just an “ok” story instead of a five-star winner for me.

Lottie is one of the highest-paid strippers in a local gentleman's club who's caught the attention of a psychopath. After her boss receives a disturbing letter from the crazed stalker, he hires Hawk Delgado and his team to protect his number one asset. Mo is the strong and sexy silent type alpha who is assigned as Lottie’s 24/7 bodyguard. They spend every waking moment together for two weeks while Mo and Hawk’s team try to find out who is after Lottie. The majority of the story is spent on Mo trying to keep things professional while he is responsible for protecting Lottie. While I found the plot to be luke-warm, I was thoroughly entertained by all the steamy scenes!!

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4
Heroine: 4
Plot: 2.5
Angst: 2
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

”QUIET MAN” releases on August 13th.

Quiet Man, is a union of the Rock Chick and the Dream Man Series’ and a introduction to the “Dream” series heros. Mo is one of Hawk Delgado's commandos who we met in Mystery Man and Lottie is Jet’s (Rock Chick Rescue) little sister and a stripper at Smithie’s.

When Smithie receives threats against Lottie, he calls in Hawk and his commandos to protect her and find the guy making the threats. Mo Morrison is the quiet type. He’s always been professional, but with him guarding Lottie 24/7, even sleeping in the same room as her, he’s finding her hard to resist, especially because she makes it clear that Mo is totally her type and she’s open to exploring things. But much to Lottie’s dismay Mo keeps things perfectly professional.....until he is no longer acting as her bodyguard.

Eventually the culprit is identified and caught....it was somewhat disappointing that we didn’t get to “see” the threatening letters, the perp, interrogation, or the takedown so the whole thing was pretty anticlimactic. A bit disappointing, they probably could have met at Fortnums with more fanfare since we get the bones of the storyline without the meaty parts.

What I loved:
❤️ Seeing Jet and her & Eddie’s three boys.
❤️ The Hot Bunch cameos + along with Ren (Yum) and Tex.
❤️ Meeting the men who will be featured in KA’s new Dream series.

What I didn’t love:
🖤 The non-stalker storyline.
🖤 Lottie is COMPLETELY perfect and flawless. Her body (which okay, being a stripper it’s pretty much a requirement), her hair, her house, her fridge food, her food organization, her eating habits, how she plays with her nephews, etc.....
🖤 Mo starting off as all Alpha and turning somewhat Beta (IMOO).

Final thoughts: I’m looking forward to Dream Maker which will feature Mag (who we meet here as Mo’s friend, colleague, and roommate) and Evie who is another Smithie’s girl.

Well folks, it finally happened. I’ve had my come to jesus moment and have moved on to the acceptance stage.

I keep thinking I’m going to get a different result because, at one time, Ms. Ashley could do no wrong in my eyes. Now, I need to come to terms with the fact that I may have just outgrown this author. It all feels rote at this point and I think I’m finally throwing in the towel.

Lee and his hot bunch gang, Hawk and his backlog of badass commandos, random hot bunch /commando friendly cops (Mitch and Brock, but you know what I mean) And they ALL seem to show up in every single book, regardless of the actual need. I used to love it, but now it reminds me of the wasted story that could’ve been told during that page space.

This should totally be called a Dream Chick or Rock Man novel because it’s the perfect blend of the Dream Man and Rock Chick world.

It was so much fun to catch up with the crazy crew that surrounds the RCs. I especially liked seeing a new dimension to Smitty and Tex. There was also the crew of sexy men that surround one of my favorite Dream Men, Hawk Delgado.

This story focuses on Lottie, Jet’s sister, and Mo, Hawk’s employee. Lottie gets to show us both her strength and vulnerabilities. Mo gets to show us his heart and his flaws. I liked the contrast between them because it gave them space to grow. The plot was interesting and made simply ‘more’ by KA’s writing. She has this ability to make everything grander than it would probably be in real life.

The writing is true to that KA style we’ve come to know and love. The pacing was strong and even though it’s a novella, it’s a KA novella so you know we got the full story and then some. Looking forward to what’s next.

4.5 Getting Back To Basics Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Sometimes we can lose our way...It can be in a relationship, marriage, job, or just our day-to-day living...and when this happens, we need to step back, take a good look and see where we may have misstepped. Did we lose focus on what was important, did we fall into a rut...did we lose faith in what we were doing when everything was flowing and strong.

These are some questions asked when we find ourselves a little lost...and sometimes the way to find our way back to our roots...to the whys we were happening in the first place, is to go back to the beginning, to the basics, to what worked for the very first time and rediscover the magic.

For me, Quiet Man (Dream Man, #4.5) by Kristen Ashley feels like she did go back and by doing so, she is now going forward with a new series that has the flavor of her first ones, Dream Man and Rock Chicks. This novella has more meat on its bones than most novellas, as it is an Ashley one, and is brought forth through the excellent series of 1001 Dark Nights.

We have all of the past characters from Rock Chicks and Dream Men. The main focus is Charlotte “Lottie” McAlister who is the headliner for Smithie's strip club.
Lottie has been thinking hard about wanting the type of life her sister has, kids and all. But it doesn't look like her Dream Man is happening anytime soon so she may just have to take matters into her own hands. Smithie knows of her desire to start her own family alone...but also wants her to take a moment and really think about it. Lottie does and says she will wait for a limited time.

Smithie is also concerned because it turns out Lottie has a stalker who has sent a threatening letter. Now normally the usual crew would get involved, police or the Nightengale men known as the Hot Bunch. But because Lottie's sister is married to a cop and her sister is thick with the Rock Chicks, Smithie cannot go there. Instead, he goes to Hawk, whose security firm will handle whatever is needed.

Lottie is a woman who is self-assured, smart, savvy in business, and beautiful. She understands what she does is her choice, has no shame in her game, and does it to the best of her ability. When Smithie explains the risk she is under, she welcomes the protection he is offering. She just wasn't prepared for the Man-Tree standing at her door...He was huge, big, and made her heart stop.

Mo was a force, to put it mildly. He had been raised by an amazing mom, dick of a dad, and had 4 sisters. He understood women much better than most. He was not a talker, he was an observer, a doer, and had been in the service. He brought back the internal scars and worked non-stop to counter the mental pain from them all. He wasn't just a bodyguard...He was a Commando in Every Sense of the word.

Mo's reaction to Lottie was equally strong and he questioned whether he was going to be able to do this mission. He was hit by her beauty, inside and out. He would have to lock everything down because as much as he wanted her, he also didn't want any of the other guys on the team with her 24/7 either.

This tale was cut from the same cloth as the series before it and it was reassuring and welcomed. KA seemed to go back to what had started her career...the bit of whacky/hunky/little threatening plot mix. She gave each of the main characters their voice and held onto what KA does with descriptions but not too much...and lots of sexy times.

She gave us nuggets of Hawk and his team...and this was the purpose of this story...to get us reacquainted with the crews of the past books and then focused on her new series, Dream Maker. For me, it worked extremely well. I had to think back on all of the connections of the past characters and was also interested in the new guys, Mo's sisters, and all the possibilities of books involving them.

So as I said, sometimes going back to what worked, in the beginning, can reignite and stimulate new ventures and bring a fresh look at others. I am very glad KA did.

Dreams Really Do Come True
Lottie believes that time is running out.
She's got no man. She's got no kids. She's not getting any younger.
She wants more.
But a stalker throws a spanner in the works.
Can't have a future if you're not alive. Right?
So she gets a bodyguard.
Mo is everything she could ever want in a man.

There was so much to love about this story! Quiet Man gave me instalove at its finest! I adored the development of the relationship between Lottie and Mo. I loved how they were together without being together, right from the start. There was no denying that they belonged to each other. I loved how they didn't always agree with one another and yet found ways to make their relationship work. I loved the bonds they shared with their circle of people and how all of those people blended to make a gigantic circle of family.

I'd like to point out that Mo had a good and strong point. Lottie's a stripper. There aren't many men out there envisioning their forever woman showing the goods to complete strangers on a regular basis. I'm not knocking the career choice. I've got friends who are or have been strippers. But is that ALL you want to do? What happens when you have children? Are you still going to be a headlining stripper? Lottie was right in that there's a double standard, but men and women ARE different. It's a fact. Therefore you can't color each gender with the same brush. She's a stripper not because she has to be but because she wants to be. Kudos! You like the attention. But to say you're not encouraging men to fantasize or degrade??? It's all about supply and demand and I'm sorry, but strippers aren't solving world hunger or fighting for world peace.

Anyhoo... I laughed. A lot. And I swooned during many of Mo's chapters. He and Lottie were simply awesome characters that I felt lucky to read about. I also enjoyed getting to meet so many side characters and I'm excited to read their books. Fans of KA will get a chance to visit with the Rock Chicks and the Hot Bunch and meet a ton of other hot guys to fall in love with. While I wanted the suspenseful part of the story to carry through to much farther than it did, I still enjoyed everything I got. I will always be a fan of these grunting and growling alphas and their sassy ladies!

This was pretty much perfection for me. Mo is my favorite type of hero and Lottie is also one of my favorite types of heroines.

He's described as a very big guy and quiet. I don't know what it is about the silent type, but it works for me. Icing on the cake was that he really knows how to take care of a woman.

She's beautiful, smart and mature. The way she handled certain situations won me over. Sadly, it's rare to find a heroine react properly when it comes to certain situations, that when I find one, it's gold.

All the side characters just added more goodness to Mo and Lottie's story. Like I said, perfection.

4 'Dream Man / Dream Girl' Stars!
ARC provided by the author via Ink Slinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

If you are a fan of Kristen Ashley, I am sure you are familiar with her Dream Man series and her Rock Chick series. Well, what happens when you mix these two worlds in a novella? You get Quiet Man. Ever since KA announced this short story, I wanted to get my hands on it so badly and now I can say I enjoyed every second of reading this piece of writing.

So, Quiet Man, as I said, belongs in her Dream Man series but you’ll find characters from her Rock Chick series too. Mo Morrison is one of Hawk Delgado’s commandos (Mystery Man) and Lottie McAlister is Jet’s sister (Rock Chick Rescue). Lottie is a sassy and independent woman, working as a stripper and she wants more from her life. She is ready for the next step but she does not have a man. But what she does have is a stalker. Enter Mo. He is supposed to be her shadow 24/7 and that becomes a problem because of the sexual tension and the instant connection between him and Lottie. Has she finally found her dream man?

It was clear Lottie had claimed her man.
The end.
And he was that man.

I am a BIG fan of Kristen Ashley’s Dream Man series. I can’t say much about her Rock Chick series because it’s a long one and I only have read the first two books. But what I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novella that crossovers these two worlds. I loved Lottie and Mo together and how they put Lottie’s safety first before actually starting their relationship. But, oh boy.. When that starts, their chemistry is combustible! I also really loved catching up with some of my beloved KA characters and seeing this new couple get their HEA.

That was it.
He was the one.
I was his one.
And both of us knew it.

Therefore, my rating for Quiet Man is 4 STARS because I found it to be a great addition to the series and I loved seeing this crew of characters all over again. Also, of course, I enjoyed Mo and Lottie together, their connection and chemistry was on point. I love me some KA alpha and sassy KA heroine! If you like any of those two series by Kristen, I am sure you’ll enjoy this novella!

baddest bish of a heroine, 🤘
but lamest plot execution ever. 👎

but whatever. its a novella. i got over it.

idk if its the heroine’s ballsy-ness that made the hero rather beta-like than alpha, but i feel like this is the first KA heroine i know whos got more balls than the other KA heroines.

shes a no-nonsense woman who lays it out like it is and actually demanded that the hero agrees to pursue a relationship with her. so that was quite a surprise.

there were cameos from the Rock Chick and Dream Man universe, which was nice. but im wondering why there was no Daisy considering her and the heroines same profession.

ALSO, i was under the impression that this was a #4.5 Dream Man book. but when i was about to post this review, it actually says Dream Team #.5. sooo its a prequel too???

guees i’ll read the Dream Team books then. 😎

The heroine Lottie is a stripper and the sister of Jet from the Rock Chick Series. She's had some threatening letters about her (not that we really get to know what they say) and so rather than involve Lee Nightingale because of the family connection or Chaos then her boss Smithie enlists the help of Hawk from the Mystery Man Series and one of his men Mo is assigned to protect Lottie. This involves actually sleeping in her bedroom (on the sofa) and he even suggests he will be in the bathroom with her when she showers. Seemed a bit OTT!

The title is Quiet Man which is supposed to relate to Mo. Yes he's quiet for the first few pages but that was about it. He's described by Smithie as ugly. Her nephew describes him as 'mahoosive'! He's bald and 6ft 5. At the start of the book Lottie is telling Smithie she's going to get a sperm donor as she wants kids. The minute she sees Mo she's obsessed with him. He is equally attracted to her but so it doesn't get in the way of him protecting her he tells her they can't start anything until the case is solved but in the meantime they are confessing their love for one another after a week and calling each other baby and honey (like every other KA couple). I've never been a fan of insta love and I know all the Rock Chick books feature it but this one was actually instant, insta love! It seemed far fetched.

Like all KA heroines, Lottie is described as having great hair! Unlike most KA heroes, I would not describe Mo as very alpha male he's more beta male. He mentions he lived with two women but they were the ones to break it off. At first he doesn't think he's good enough for Lottie and worries that if she dumped him his heart wouldn't cope! The dialogue before they even kiss or have sex was a bit too soppy for me and not what I want to read from a hero! Within a week she's his woman and he's her man and they talk of their future and getting married, having kids etc!

As has been the case for the last 10 or so books of KA's that I have read I got bored at the halfway point. Her hero and heroine used to have arguments etc but nowadays once they get together it's all just a load of boring filler. Lottie and Mo have no angst. They're in love from day one and then it's the usual thing of the heroine finding out all the people around her love her and the usual of bitch exes (although in this case I found Lottie to be more of the bitch than the ex!) and estranged parents blah blah. Mo has PTSD which has featured in previous heroes of KA's. I was so bored in the second half I nearly nodded off whilst reading! I didn't particularly like Lottie. The way she talked about his ex made her seem very immature.

I wonder if KA gets bored writing the same thing over and over? (although is writing involved or a lot of cut and paste?!) Do her fans not get bored? I was once a fan but after reading the same story over and over and the same hero and heroine over and over it starts to get really boring. Surely KA wants to evolve as a writer?

This was another KA miss for me. I've actually stopped reading every book she releases but decided to give this shorter version another try but as usual, it left me bored.

Spoilers ahead, 4.5*

Honorary rock chick and sister of Jet, Lottie is a stripper who starts receiving threatening letters. Smithie(yay Smithie again) decides to call in the commandos since the hot bunch and Lottie's cop brothers in law would lose their minds at the threat to her. To avoid stressing her family Hawk is called in and he assigns Mo to guard Lottie.
Mo is a former army man now turned badass commando who hasn't had the best of luck with women. He's attracted to Lottie but he knows he needs to be focused in order to effectively guard her. When the psycho is finally taken down however, all bets are off!

I've had some serious misses from this author so starting this without reading a single review was a leap of faith. Even though some of her books didn't work for me and some of her mcs I actually loathed(Chace!!!!!) I'm glad I took a chance on this one. Mo Morrison was my kinda guy. Quiet, big, sexy, protective and generally a good guy. He didn't seem to be drop dead gorgeous but he was gorgeous to Lottie (and me). He also didn't seem to be a manwhore rather he'd had a few relationships with bitch women the last a little while before he met Lottie and a couple of women after his bitch ex.
Lottie reminded me of Daisy, without all the crap that had befallen Daisy in her life, I absolutely adore Daisy and Lottie was no exception. She did her job without coming across as sleazy. She was funny, sassy and a sweetheart and I loved her.

I had a couple of instances(mostly with Mo's view of strippers) where I wasn't pleased but all in all this book reminded me of why I keep giving this author my hard earned money 😂. On one hand I'm sad that this was a novella but on the other hand Mo didn't have time to act a fool (as the usual KA hero) so I'm more than happy with what I got.

I'm hopeful Mo's boys and Lottie's girls get their own stories because I'm definitely riding the high on this one!

Insta attraction delayed because of the stalker situation but they got together pretty early and stayed together
Slight OW drama but it wasn't even much of a blip on the radar, she was mentioned quite a bit however
No angst or big drama from the couple (thank God because sometimes KA seems to like drama for drama's sake)
Threatening letters from a fanatic that seemed to be escalating but we didn't get details of the letters and he was captured fairly early and easily
Epilogue with a baby and Mo's manwhore friend is about to eat married

Not going to lie that as a massive fan of Kristen Ashley's Dream Man and Rock Chick series, I had to take a few calming breaths before I started this book. After finally getting my shit together I was finally able to start this book without acting like a kid in a candy store... It was going oh so perfectly until the Hot Bunches, Ren and the rock chick girls started making their cameos. That is when I really lost it.
*Be still my beating heart*
I could weeps for joy just thinking about these awesome characters.

This book was so good! If you have read KA's books then this one is for all the fans who are obsessed with this world. Mo and Lottie gave me flashbacks of feelings and emotions of what I loved originally in these series. Mo and Lottie's story in Quiet Man gives me tingles and this KA fan couldn't be happier!
Highly Recommend this novella....

These beautiful words whispered by the prophetic Kane "Tack" Allen at the end of Motorcycle Man are finally coming true for KA fans in her upcoming Dream Series. In this new spin-off, the Rock Chick and Dream Man worlds collide, as badass commandos from Mystery Man find their perfect dream women. The excitement begins with Quiet Man, a novella starring the lovable secondary characters Lottie McAlister (Rock Chick Rescue) and Mo Morrison (Mystery Man).

Lottie became a favorite from the moment she splashed onto the scene as Jet's baby sister in RC Rescue. Bold, sassy, and a bit mischievous, I totally adore this headlining stripper and beyond thrilled she's finally getting a chance at finding her very own happily ever after.

Here we see a mature Lottie who's ready to take on the next chapter of her life. She wants to fall in love with a Hot Bunch man, just like her Rock Chick sister. Unfortunately, they're all taken. Even though she's giving up hope of finding a dream man, nothing stops Lottie from moving on to plan the future she undoubtedly deserves. I love all her determination, fortitude, and spunk. And when faced with dangerous threats, she doesn't lose her cool. Instead, she's good with Smithie calling in one of Hawk Delgado's commandos. Enter Mo ~ the bodyguard who unknowingly changes Lottie's world for the better.

On the surface seemingly pragmatic and stoic, Mo Morrison's impressive yet stony demeanor was off-putting at first. He's a man of few words who takes his job of protecting Lottie very seriously, even more so as their relationship grows. The more Lottie broke through his barriers, the deeper I fell for this rough and rugged badass. Mo has so much more going for him than his brawn. He's sweet, loving, funny, patient, a bit vulnerable because of his past experiences and most importantly ~ has a huge heart. He's the perfect match for this feisty stripper and works hard to make all of her dreams come true. In turn, Lottie brought the best out of Mo. I truly loved them together. Their back and forth banter, as well as their intense chemistry, made this read deliciously enjoyable.

For a novella, there's a whole lot of story here to savor. Mo and Lottie's journey was an insta-love type of romance, that was also slow-burning as they took their sweet time falling in love. Happy to see the Nightingale crew, Hawk, Mitch, and Brock, along with meeting Mo's hot commando friends. I cannot wait to get my hands on their romances as Lottie plays cupid, match-making these boys with her stripper squad. All in all, Quiet Man is a definite MUST READ that was surprisingly low on angst and drama than I anticipated, but filled with oodles of passion and laughs. A great start to what I believe will be a fantastic series.

This Quiet Man was a Dream

I absolutely loved catching up with the Dream Men, Hot Bunch and Rock Chicks. Lottie was a fantastic character and Mo was the perfect hero for her.

The storyline kept my attention from start to finish, the characters, new and old were completely loveable, and the love story was sweet, intense and very HOT!

I'm sad the Rock Chicks is over but I'm very excited for the new series to start.

Quiet Man is a Dream Man Novella which brings back some of our favorite characters from Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick Series and The Dream Man Series! I have always been a KA fan and especially (when it comes to her Rock Chick and Dream Man Series) I simply will never get enough. Charlotte “Lottie” McAlister is Jet's Sister and Smithie's Headlining Dancer. She has had years of watching her sister (and the other Rock Chicks) meet their man and yet, she is still riding solo. Now that her biological clock is ticking, she is desperate to find her man and start a family. When her life is unexpectedly put in jeopardy (welcome back to the Rock Chick World) Smithie hires Hawk Delgado (yummy Dream Man) to put protection detail on her. Mo Morrison is large and in charge. He knows he is not supposed to fall in love with his "job" and yet, Lottie is everything he never knew he wanted. As the two fall madly in love with each other, they have to keep their hands off until the job is done and catch the man who is trying to harm her.

"He got why she was a headliner.
He got why it was a packed house. She was graceful. She knew how to dance. She was beautiful. She had an awesome outfit on (or was taking it off). And she was sexy AF. Christ.”
Told in multiple POV, Quiet Man is an enjoyable read that will appeal to Rock Chick and Dream Man fans because it brings back so many of our favorite characters. The writing style is KA Rock Chick style with a few twists of fun. Mo's friends introduce an entirely new group of characters to swoon over. Additionally, Mo's family was fun and enhanced the story greatly.
“We are not going there,” he grunted. “We so are.”
Overall, I highly recommend Queit Man to KA fans who want to get back with the Rock Chicks and enjoy a HEA for Jet's sister Lottie! Novellas are not my fave because I prefer to dive deep into a story however, Lottie and Mo were a sweet little delight! I will forever be a faithful KA fan and especially when the Rock Chicks are in the mix, my Kindle and I are ready and waiting!

I know, I know ! I swore off KA! But I was waiting for years for a spinoff with Hawk’s boys. Ok so I didn’t hate it. That doesn’t mean I loved it. The resolution in this book was anticlimactic. It was almost as if she was too lazy to write the details, so she resolved the threat to the h quickly, then resorted to her old standby of boring decor descriptions and meaningless conversation and contrived drama. But this couple was actually great together despite the author trying to mess it up. But seriously seriously thankful this wasn’t a perverted butt fest like Rush’s book and that nasty Honey series she writes. So three stars for not screwing this up too badly 🤷‍♀️

This was just OK for me but I'm probably just getting tired of KA's usual style. It was romantic, but there was too much of the Kristen Ashley Moralizing. I don't care for her take on life. And there was too much of bringing all the characters from both "The Rock Chicks" series as well as the "Dream Man" series. Throw that in with all the new men from Hawk's business and this tiny novella was very overcrowded. The romance felt rushed to the extreme and just didn't work for me.

I used to love KA with my whole heart...there are books of hers I can read over and over again (I still cry every time I read At Peace) but the best thing I can say about this book is “at least I was able to finish it”. Her last few books I haven’t even been able to accomplish that. Mo is fine but he doesn’t have any real stand out moments. I don’t remember Lottie from previous books...I didn’t even remember Jet having a sister. I didn’t care she was a stripper but she sure seemed to...she spent a lot of time defending her job and freaking out when things just got to be too much. Since this was a novella length it felt like WAY too much shrieking & carrying on...even more so when all the stalker stuff happened off page so there never even felt like there was a real threat to Lottie. I was bored. That makes me so sad. I’m thinking our author/reader relationship might be coming to an end. We’re just going in different directions. But at least I have a lot of previous stories to fall back on when I’m feeling nostalgic.

1️⃣ First of:

I did not think I would warm up to Lottie. The very first chapter I was like “oh, this one might scare me away”, but then the story began and Lottie just killed it!
I loved her straight comments. Her support system. Her character. I loved her “I will not take no bullshit for the job I choose and love”.
She felt so real and comfortable in her own skin.

And Mo?
I have not found a single KA man I have not completely and utterly fallen for. And Mo was no different.

Plot wise? Totally worked.
Stripper being stalked, big as a powerhouse bodyguard protects her. Sooo perfect. Hallo HOT😍
Also he is one of Hawks’ boys😈 And everyone know I am (also) a Hawk girl.

The best part?
The Hot Bunch, the Dream Men, and the Rock Chicks. I cannot wait to read those books. I just know I am in for a ride.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.

UPDATE: Reread on November 2, 2021.

I enjoyed the reading and decided to read the entire series.
I gave the book a second chance and I liked it, it's not the author's best, but it's ok.

I still love her old books and bought 56 Kindle books she wrote. I have several on paper too.
I went against my better judgment and ended up buying the book, even though I didn't like the author's latest books very much. But hope is the last to die and I ended up buying. I regretted it. I spent my money for nothing. I found it very boring and will try again at another time.

Lottie has had a little cameo in about every rock chick book after her sister Jet’s. She is a loving sister, sweet to their mother and patient with her eccentric step father Tex. Lottie is likable in every sense of the word. She also just happens to be a headline dancer at Smithie’s club, taught by our none other than Rock Chick favorite Daisy.

Lottie is a little sad because all the good ones have been taken. It appears that Lottie’s biological clock is ticking and there just isn’t anyone in the hot bunch left, so she’s given up and thinking about just doing the whole baby thing on her own without a man. That is until Mo, the quiet but deadly man enters her life.

Lottie has someone completely fixated on her and that man is sending Smithie letters. Very disturbing letters. Smithie, being Smithie has been through some trouble in Denver before and knows that if he brings in the normal crew a.k.a. the hot bunch this will not go down easy. So he instead looks for Hawk and his commandos for help. Can you say crossover series with me guys.

Mo is big, intimidating and quiet. He doesn’t say much out loud but Lottie feels like the man speaks volumes to her just with his body language. The more time they spend together the harder it is for Mo to separate his thoughts from her and the harder it is to keep it all professional.
Mistake number one.
He watched her dance.
Mistake number two.
He left her sightline when she was exposed and needed to know he had her.
Mistake number three.
He let it slip his mind she was tangled up with the Rock Chicks.
Mistake number four.
He also forgot her stepfather was a lunatic.

Lottie is cute and charming and just herself. She was so adorably easy to like that I was rooting hard for them from the first pages. Mo has some emotional baggage from being in the military but he also has a little from prior relationships and Lottie has made it her mission to help him with all of that.

Sure there is the danger situation happening with the stalker in the background of all of this. There is danger a foot and the letters are getting bolder and the danger that the stalker is almost ready to make their move. It added to the story but lets be clear that this is mainly a romance with a little danger off to the side.

Mo comes fully stalked with a group of commando buddies from Hawks crew that are going to need some setting up in future books. Like I said crossover series and I could not be happier that we will get something akin to a Rock Chick/Dream Man crossover. I’m so excited for it in fact.
“Can I ask when my woman became all of your woman?” Mo requested to know from behind me, and he didn’t sound happy.
“Until we get our own,” Mag answered breezily. “You know sister wives? We’re like brother husbands.”
“No you aren’t.”
There was my man’s Brook No Argument Tone.
“Without the benefits, of course,” Mag added.
“Lottie, babe, step up the matchmaking shit,” Mo ordered,

It was so much fun to be back in the Rock Chick world yet again and I loved seeing all of the hot bunch and Tex make cameo appearances. It is sweet that Lottie was so loved by the gang and I remembered why I had so much fun with the Rock Chick series in the first place.

Great shorter read to scratch that Kristen Ashley itch I sometimes get. Dream Maker I’m ready for you.

Lord..when Kristen Ashley told us we were getting Lottie's book she did NOT tell us that it would rock my world! Lottie and Mo's story was delicious as hell. Mo was the usual moody, broody, alpha hero that fit right in working for Hawk Delgado and his Commandos. The connection he shared with Lottie was just too hot to be contained! I loved this story!

Here’s what I loved:
Mo and Lottie had fiery chemistry and the suspenseful/stalker theme had me on the edge of my seat.
The love and unequivocal support he gave Lottie was absolutely perfect. A man after my own heart.
He fit right in with the Hot Bunch and the rest of the Commandos. These characters and story were like catnip for me!

Overall, I loved Quiet Man and the exciting peek into Ashley's new Dream Team series coming next year. The extended characters have me intrigued and super excited about their stories. I can’t wait! Bring on 2020!

While I read this one out of order, it certainly didn’t make it any less enjoyable. But afterwards, I realized I would have loved the first book of the Dream Team series even more had I read this one first.

Lottie was a wonderful KA heroine. Soft but strong, fierce in her loyalty and whole hearted when falling in love. The author dealt with her job in such a way that I’ll never look at stripping in the same light as I have a time or two in the past. I’m also pretty sure only KA creates characters that I didn’t realize I could so totally love.

How Men's Perfect Body Types Have Changed Throughout History

Holy hotness! Mo fits the description that fits my every desire in a hero. Huge, bulky guy, not much of a talker but when he did finally open up...oh yeah...he totally won my heart. With friends and family to come along for the ride, I was on board the Mo and Lottie train all the way.

The drama and danger took a back seat in this book and I was okay with that. Even though this was a novella, it had so much to it I felt like I was reading a full length novel. I missed meeting all of Mo’s roommates by starting the wrong book in the series, so now I’m super hyped to dig into the rest so I can see exactly how Lottie manages to bring her girls and Mo’s guys together.

Altogether, an incredibly entertaining read that gave me everything I love in my main characters as well as what I love with secondary characters, lots of heat, and plenty of good times.
