Schoolgirl rushed to hospital after being knocked down by car outside East Kilbride primary

A TEENAGE girl has been knocked down by a car outside an East Kilbride primary school this afternoon.

Emergency services raced to Lickprivick Road just before 5pm after the girl was struck next to Castlefield Primary School.

She has been taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment.

Her condition is described as stable.

The incident forced the road to be closed, with First Bus announcing diversions to services 18 and 21.
