I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.
I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.
Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.
Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.
Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.
Where do I even start. Gavin is just a sweet potato. I adore him. Jordan Marie knows how to suck you in and keep the pages turning. I couldn't put it down. This series and this book has it all. Steamy romance, suspense, murder, mystery, heartache, betrayal, first love, second chances, twist. All my must read boxes are ticked. I thought I had it all figured out but in true Jordan Marie fashion she surprised me and left me feeling oh so satisfied. Nobody does dirty like Hordan. The woman can write anything and I will read it. Do yourself a favor get a snack and a comfy chair when you settle in for this read.
Well crap I enjoyed the first one so was looking forward to Gavin and Luna’s conclusion but this fell flat. They see each other after 13 years and the first scene of them seeing each other after 13 years was soo damn anti climatic. They had so much love in book 1 that I was expecting more.
I lost interest at 18% after (a near) sex scene with Luna and her boyfriend, Ben.. “everything hes doing is that good.” I get moving on after all its been 13 years! But I don’t want to read about it rather it be off page.
Tried to continue with the book but I’m out at 45% Luna’s relationship with Ben is mentioned too much, she seems conflicted between the two and Ben seems like too nice a guy. Also, I liked nicer younger Luna better then adult Luna.
Ben is the Hero in the next book. Not sure I want to read about his story seeing as hes sooo into Luna.

Just spectacular I do not know how Jordan keeps doing it but she draws me in and will not let me go! This book was all the same! It had you first love, lost love, new love and rekindled love. It also has a secret, murder and hey for the fun of it throw in a few surprises. This book has it all. It’s a continuation of the first book so you definitely want to read letting you go first. Gavin and Luna had a teenage love with each other when he leaves her behind for the FBI. 13 years later he is called back to his home town to try and solve a murder which happens to be related to a serial killer he has been chasing for a number of years! Luna is now the mayor of said small town and tries at first to avoid him. One look is all it took for him to know he wants her back in his life but she’s in a relationship with the local sheriff and has been for the last two years. Now the questions are will he find the killer before its to late? Will he capture her heart once more? Can a secret that she didn’t know she was keeping be forgiven? Seriously you need to read this book!
My Rating: 4 Stars Tropes: Second Chance Romance | Romantic Suspense
Jordan Marie has wrapped up Luna and Gavin’s duet PERFECTLY. This one, while much different than the first, had all the elements of an angsty second chance romance with the added bonus of suspense. I truly enjoyed it!
One of the things I loved most of this duet was the fact that the first book (LETTING YOU GO) told their story when they were younger (and in high school) and this one took place 13 years later AFTER everything went down in the conclusion to the previous book. Normally I would think that the two books were far too different (you go from a high school romance to an adult romance) but it worked so well for this series. Not only that, it helped that I read them one after the other so all the feelings I had were still in the forefront of my mind.
If you enjoy an EPIC romance that spans time, one that will leave you feeling all the emotions, then I strongly recommend reading these two books. There is a third one in the series (BEFORE WE FALL but it’s only interconnected to this one because it’s the secondary characters own love story. I can’t wait to read it!
Finally the wait for the conclusion to Gavin and Luna's story and wow what a story. Of loss and pain.
When Gavin left over ten years ago he did so thinking Luna had betrayed him. The anger and pain he felt left him numb. Numb to life and love. The betrayal was like nothing he'd experienced. His home life, his brother paled into comparison. Losing her sealed his heart.
Luna made the hardest decision when she let Gavin go. She did it for him, wanting more for him. And if giving up her love and her dreams of a future with Gavin was needed to protect him she'd do it again in a heartbeat.
But when she needed him most the people she thought she could love and trust lied to her. Luna had no clue though she just thought Gavin had cut her from his life. And that nearly destroyed her.
Present day and Luna is now Mayor of Stone Lake Maine, she has made a life for herself and her family. There's a possible romance with the Sheriff life is looking up. That is until the past comes back to haunt her. Gavin is back in town. Now an FBI Agent he's here on official business. The serial killer that has been terrorising the country has led him back home to the one place he swore to never return too.
Seeing Luna again though is something is like having his heart ripped out all over again. But seeing the surprise that he was not aware of is the kicker. To say he's shocked is an understatement. But knowing the one person who you trusted is the one that betrayed you shocks him.
Having to deal with the fallout is hard enough, but he will. With the killer closing in, he will have to do everything in his power to protect the ones he loves.
The twists that this story delivered you feel as though your on a tightrope, wondering who, what and how. Jordan's delivery of this story threw me with the surprises but in a good way. The characters had grown since that first book, stronger and just as engaging. The chemistry and passion delivers.
If your after a read that guarantees a plot that has you guessing right until the end then your going to love this story.
"Whatever else has gone on through the years, when Luna and I are together, it's like we connect and feel what one another are experiencing. It was like that thirteen years ago, and it's still like that today."
I was there when Gavin and Luna fell in love as teenagers and I fell right along with them. He wouldn't stay. She refused to go. He left and broke all of our hearts. They both had good reasons for their choices, but everyone suffered the consequences of those decisions.
I have to say, I'm a romantic suspense junkie, and I'm really digging the direction Jordan Marie is going with her Stone Lake series. I enjoy straining my brain and trying to figure things out. Action and suspense and surprises are addictive and when you throw a #HotCop or two into the mix it's a Win/win for us readers, right?
The only thing I can talk about without risking spoilers is the way the story made me feel. I went into this 2nd installment already attached to Gavin and Luna. My heart was broken for both of them and I was so anxious for an opportunity for them to find each other again. But there was so much pain and broken promises between them that I was anticipating and dreading their first meeting, worried that their hurt feelings would cause them to say things that couldn't be unsaid.
At the same time, I was excited about the case that brought Gavin back to Stone Lake. I'm a self-proclaimed profiler and I was evaluating every single character and making my unprofessional assessment regarding their guilt or innocence. I had my suspicions and it was so fun to wait to either be surprised or to pat myself on the back.
I can't wait for everyone else to grab their copy of When You Were Mine. I know we can't give away any details, but I'll know that you know, and you'll know that I know and we can wink at each other, right? 😉
"I stare into her eyes. The hunger for her that gnaws at me is reflected in her eyes. It would take a half of a second to kiss her like she deserves to be kissed."
Gavin and Luna's story are unlike many this Author has written, and that's why I loved this book so hard. Part second chance romance, and part murder mystery, it kept me on my toes and had my heart skipping beats all over the place!! Picking up where you were dropped on your head in Book 1, 13 years later, I was so incredibly anxious to see if the love that exuded from the pages could be rekindled. The pain, the anguish, the missed chances, and the interference from so many angles made it seem completely impossible. I couldn't put it down until every question was answered, my kindle burned with the hotness of this couple, and raced to the end to find out the mastermind behind all the carnage, and I never saw it coming!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next book!!
Jordan Marie did not disappoint, When You Were Mine. book 2 is so worth waiting for. 5 stars from me
We start off right where part 1 ended and thirteen years later Gavin is back at Stone Lake where he left his heart behind along with the family and people he hated.
But things have changed so much....
Luna never really felt at peace but has built a great life for herself in the place she stayed, broken hearted and lost so many years ago.
This second book is full of drama, tears, smiles and twists you will never see coming, you think you know how this story is going to go but you don't have a clue!
Well part 2 was better. An older Luna was more interesting and loved that Gavin was all in from the get go. There are some surprises, multiple POVs again. But the flow is choppy again too. The romance had HEAT from the MCs but seemed too fast and somehow everyone was okay with it just like blinking your magic genie to happy land. It was okay. 2.5 stars.
Predictable. I've read most of this author's work, and this could be her first foray into murder-suspense. The glue didn't quite stick for me. The reader knows where the story was going a mile away. And how did Gavin get to be in the FBI? TBH, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. Just saying, the plot is thin, the characters not very well developed. This was a bust for me. And I was counting the days til the 2nd book was released! Bummer. 3 stars for this one***
This story gave me a different feel. Maybe because, while in LYG I was on rollercoaster with my emotions, on this one I was more racking my brains whos the culprit. Though, I have to say, I wasn't surprised much when the time came. For some reason I always thought about him. That said, the moment wasn't ruined for me. I so wanted to be there and do some shooting. Sick sick person. Luna and Gaving... Those two... They are all grown up. They had changed but at the same time, they are still the same on certain things. It was bittersweet to see them click again, though it took time and a lot of learning. I was so angry when some truths where revealed. They stole so much from Luna and Gavin, some things they couldn't ever get back. But I guess, they always can get new memories. If only they will let go of theirs hurt and feeling of betrayal.
WOW WOW WOW WOOOOOOW just WOW Jordan Marie has done it again my heart always goes through the ringer when it comes to one of jordans books . This can't be read as a standalone you have to read Letting you go first When you were mine takes place thirteen years later . This book had everything you are looking for in a good story filled with emotions , interesting characters , plot that you just fall into , and when you reach the end you really don't want it to be the end but you have a smile on your face . The couple did grow and change alot from how they were in the first book they were young and in love teenagers to adults who were missing their hearts . It was really amazing to see how the characters developed and changed once they were reunited you could really feel how they felt about one another . I can't wait to read more by the author she just writes such emotionally charged stories and you just can't wait to dive in again after reaching the end . I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book **************************************** hero= 10 heroine=10 secondary characters= 10 Chemistry=10 steam=8 romance=7 humor=3 darkness level=4 action=4 mystery=4 enjoyment=10 angst=3 story line=10 Story ending=10 character development=10 pacing=10 cover=10 Blurb =10 Stars =5 Is this part of a series =yes Can it be read as a standalone = no would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book= yes would I read future books by this author= yes
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is the second book in the Stone Lake series. It’s the conclusion of Luna And Gavin’s story!! What a conclusion it is!! I love this series ❤️ Let’s just say I felt my heart beating through my chest the entire time I was reading. Wow this book is so fast paced and full of secrets that I almost felt like I couldn’t read fast enough. Gavin an FBI agent is sent back to his home town and the girl he never got over to chase a series killer. The angst and the lies that are realized are explosive. I loved Luna she was strong and feisty. There is a love triangle that will have you on the edge of your seat hoping Luna picks correctly. The angst and push and pull is palpable! There are revelations that will bring you to tears. This story is told in dual point of view and that adds to the heartbreaking reality of the situation. Then of course there are the murders and the serial killer that’s on the loose. I read this book in an afternoon and couldn’t put it down. I know we get juniper’s story next and I can’t wait for that. I do hope we get more of Gavin and Luna because I can’t let them go just yet!!
The continuation of The Stone Lake Series was so worth the wait. Jordan Marie expands her writing skills in this beautifully written romance novel. I am ecstatic about the all grown up,sexy alpha male, now FBI agent Gavin Lodge. He latest assignment takes him back to his hometown of Stone Lake track down a serial killer. He also knows he not only has his own demons of the past with his dad but also face the angel and his first true love, the beautiful Luna Marshall. Luna is now the mayor of Stone Lakes and she’s trying everything in her power to avoid Gavin. She has a good guy she’s currently dating, Ben, who is the town sheriff. But besides having her heart fluttering and the sexual attraction she still has for Gavin, there is the son he never knew about. In the mist of try to solve the case, lies are are revealed and hearts are healing in the process! A definite must read book! You will love it!!! 😊
If I said that this book destroyed me emotionally.... It would be the greatest understatement of the decade! When You Were Mine is the perfect conclusion to the Stone Lake Duet, Jordan Marie takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride of second chance romance with a little dose of enemies to lovers with a little hint of surprise thrown in (you will HAVE to read to find out) There were so many unanswered questions at the end of book 1 that ALL and more get answered but I am telling you... you have to go through all the motions and the OMG to get there but YOU WILL GET THERE!! When I started reading this book I totally thought I knew it ALL and how things were going to play out... Man was I wrong!! Jordan Marie has a way of making this maze of events that you have to weave your way through to get to the end with no less than a billion WHAT THE HECKS when everything finally starts to reveal themselves... I was like WHOA but I wouldn't change a thing and I love that as an author she isn't afraid to take things to the edge... teeter there for a bit... and then slowwwwllllyyyy pull ya back up and makes everything better!!
A lot has changed since Gavin left town 13 years ago. He is now a successful agent in the FBI who is tracking a serial killer which leads him back to the town and the woman that broke his heart.
Luna stayed in town and created a life for herself and is now the mayor. She has a secret that is about to be revealed which will shock Gavin to the core and leave him feeling betrayed and questioning everything.
As the love and chemistry between them ignites so does the danger. Will they be able to find out the truth of who is behind the crimes before they strike again? Drama, intrigue and a love that was always meant to be combine into a compelling story that draws you in and won’t let you go.
5 stars I don't know why i did not read this book earlier because i love Jorden books. When you were mine is an amazing book about true love, second chances, also you have a drama, mystery. It's sad that i did not read the first book in the series, i though this is standalone but after reading few reviews from the first book i get the history of Gavin and Luna love story. I loved Gavin, he is such an alpha hero but at the same time, he sad and, because he let, was not aware but other people made a decision for him. All in all amazing book with the captivating writing style, great love story, and amazing end.
So intense! Ever since I read Letting You Go, I was hoping Gavin and Luna would find their way back to each other. I just didn't know how rocky the road back would be. There were so many twists, that I just couldn't close my kindle until I finished. There were a few villains trying to come between Gavin and Luna, and I couldn't help but wonder if I was right about the main villain. Overall, I was pleased with the way things turned out for Gavin and Luna. A very well-written book from Jordan Marie!
Oh my heaven, talk about a freaking fantastic book. This book , let me tell you it ticked all my boxes, I was always rooting for Gavin, he's had crap throw at him from ever direction, but there's one thing that he has never give up on and that's Luna, they go through so much in this book,. It will definitely keep you on your toes it's suspenseful it's hot it's sexy but it'll definitely have you gasping wondering what in the world is going on .you're going to root for Gavin because he's just very head strong . Luna oh my goodness that girl she's done so much with her life through 13 years of separation from Gavin. I love her character. I I love the way the story unfolds the characters .the writing is amazing I think Jordan truly outdid herself this time with this book the first one was really good but this one was just totally epic definitely definitely looking forward to Ben and Junie's book
This was a fantastic conclusion to Gavin and Luna’s story. Jordan done well with tying up all the lose ends but also setting up characters for next stories in the series. Poor Gavin and Luna. They truly had people against them who wanted to see them fall apart and worse. I was so glad to see them get those HEA as it was well deserved. The serial killer was who I expected it to be, but the twists and turns that lead to the reveal were great. It had me second guessing myself at times.
All I wanna say is that this kept my attention from the first book till the end. No unnecessary scenes dragged on and plot line was well written. Gavin got the short end of the stick in life - things he couldn’t control were manipulated by people he should’ve trusted or wholeheartedly trusted.
Wishing for impossible dreams... Gavin Lodge returns to his home town 13 years later to solve a serial murder case he has been working on for years. Having to work with Luna Marshall, the only woman he has ever loved is going to be tough... discovering he also has a son with her will be his demise. Gavin's goal is to win back the love of his life and be a father to the son he never knew he had. But is there any hope of anything happening when there are serious issues of trust separating them? A sweet, intense Second Chance Romance which will keep you on your toes. 5 Smoldering Stars for "When You Were Mine (Stone Lake, #2)"... do first loves stand the test of time? Read & find out!
Argh! I'm so disappointed by this book! After reading the first in the series, I was so looking forward to seeing how Gavin and Luna reconnected in the second part of the Stone Lake series. But, I didn't like how they reconnected. I didn't like the random twists and turns. I didn't like that a lot of things were left open and never really explained in regards to what happened in the previous book. I just felt like there was so much going on...but yet nothing going on. Ugh.
It's sad because the first book was decent and this story had potential.
When you were mine by Jordan Marie, while much better than the first book in this series, still misses its mark. The conclusion to this romance/thriller drags at times, making the book impossibly long and boring at times. For some reason the connection between Gavin and Luna is never there. The story falls flat and so drawn out that you don’t really care if the bad guy is caught or not. You just want the book to end.
Well book 2 didn’t disappoint but do not read this book until you’ve read book 1. I was on an emotional roller coaster waiting to see if Gavin and Luna would be together. This is not just a love story but it is a suspenseful murder mystery that kept me wanting to keep turning the pages on my kindle. I actually had the killer worked out from the first murder although I was slightly thrown off track in book 2 but l stuck to my theory and was right. But if you want to find out who the serial killer is and who Luna chooses you’re going to have to read it for yourself. Even though this series is a first time read of this author she won’t be my last and she has become my new favourite author. This series will not disappoint and is well worth all 5 stars!
Following on immediately from Letting You Go, When You Were Mine is a really exciting, at times nail biting, conclusion to Gavin and Luna's story. With more twists and turns than you can throw a stick at, this tense romantic thriller, lives up to the promise of the first book, which was so very good. The plot thickens to pea soup level, ensuring that you are delivered shocks and surprises throughout. I loved the love between Gavin and Luna in their first book and was rooting for their HEA all the way. This is a fabulous book and I have enjoyed every minute.
Book #1 was pretty good, I could go into how the legal system seems to not exist in this world, but hey... a small quibble. Now book #2 was a fucking shit show and apparently Luna turned into a complete idiot. The whole thing fell apart.
Gavin and Luna with some Ben mixed in. Ben is a great guy but he would always be second to Gavin. This story has a lot of love with a good amount of crazy and betrayal mixed in. It’s a rough road to a HEA for the main couple. I’m excited for the next story.
