Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on all people, including Buddhist monks across the country to eat Khmer noodles on Sunday in a bid to show love and solidarity.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Koh Pich Exhibition Center today, Mr Hun Sen said that people could eat Khmer noodles any day they wish to, but eat it together again on Sunday.

“Please do not wait until June 9 to eat. If you’re hungry today, please have it today, and on June 9, we’ll eat it together again,” he said. “Eating Khmer noodles together is reflective of love and solidarity between rental house owners, factory owners and workers.”

Mr Hun Sen said that 23 business establishments and factories will host noodle gathering for workers on Sunday.

He also asked Health Minister Mam Bun Heng to monitor and prepare Khmer noodles in a bid to prevent noodle poisoning.

“Everyone will blame Hun Sen, if poisoning happens,” Mr Hun Sen said. “Please be careful with this issue and each place has to be responsible and the Health Ministry has to monitor it.”
