OMG! It has been a long delayed flight. I seek your apologies. Now that I am back after a big bamboo from my preceptor let me continue the storytelling sessions about the journey with my Master.

My master arrived in Singapore, and I wasn’t functioning in my full capacity at all. It was a strange experience and feeling down and out at all times. I did not like the life I was leading. I revolted and didn’t know what to do. I did not like being with my master but had to ensure I took good care of him and make his stay comfortable.

We somehow managed to live at my friend’s place whom I would call a “Gem.” It was until then my belief that there is nobody in this entire world who is so precious and sweet like him. My pink color glasses broke the moment my friend started to reveal his true colors. I was aghast and taken aback completely. Heart-broken and crushed to pieces. Firstly, I was accused of not paying enough for living at their place. Secondly, his mother, wife, and maid also started to behave to me in a bad manner.

I was shocked to learn how people give into their inherent nature and stoop down to such levels that they cannot differentiate between right and wrong actions. All that mattered was ‘Money’ which is the greatest facilitator and the only medium for anyone to be respected. Today, people value relationships based on an individual’s wealth, status, position and power in the society. We are living amidst of people who have fallen prey to the age of Kali or Iron age.

While witnessing all of the happenings my master showed his compassion for me and taught a profound text called “Avadhut Gita” the teachings about his Gurudev – Supreme Master Dattatreya. All I learnt from what he taught me is that one has to be ever-free giving up all material worldly attachments and roam this universe ever lost in the bliss of one’s Self.

Every single day felt incredibly long and my Guru’s stay too. He then asked me to look out for a place where I could move to and live independently. I wasn’t ready to listen to his guidance and believed I did manage somehow living with my friends until I made enough money. My faith dithered and what I never could understand is that my Guru cares only about my well-being and whatever he does is for everyone’s good alone.

With the Grace of my Master, I have been able to pen this most wonderful experience in a string of words. Thank you for reading and do watch out for my next write-up about ‘Finding My First Ten Cents of Wisdom’.
