Warrior Fight Club #2.5

Worth Fighting For

Rate this book
Getting in deep has never felt this good...

Commercial diving instructor Tara Hunter nearly lost everything in an accident that saw her medically discharged from the navy. With the help of the Warrior Fight Club, she’s fought hard to overcome her fears and get back in the water where she’s always felt most at home. At work, she’s tough, serious, and doesn’t tolerate distractions. Which is why finding her gorgeous one-night stand on her new dive team is such a problem.

Former navy deep-sea diver Jesse Anderson just can’t seem to stop making mistakes—the latest being the hot-as-hell night he’d spent with his new partner. This job is his second chance, and Jesse knows he shouldn’t mix business with pleasure. But spending every day with Tara’s smart mouth and sexy curves makes her so damn hard to resist.

Joining a wounded warrior MMA training program seems like the perfect way to blow off steam—until Jesse finds that Tara belongs too. Now they’re getting in deep and taking each other down day and night, and even though it breaks all the rules, their inescapable attraction might just be the only thing truly worth fighting for.

4- "...Don’t let me go…" Stars!

We return to Laura Kaye’s Warrior Fight Club series with Jesse Anderson and Tara Hunter’s story. Although this novel is part of the Kristen Proby Big Sky Crossover Collection this story does not take place in Cunningham Falls, Montana. The link for Worth Fighting For to the series, is Jesse, who is Willa’s (Waiting for Willa) elusive and rarely mentioned brother.

She was just easy to talk to and be with…

This was a nice easy going read, I liked getting to know Jesse and Tara, and it hit the ground running with a bar hook-up between them almost straight off, we then spent a large portion of the rest of the book with them circling each other and trying to ignore their attraction due to the fact they were working together.

He wanted it all but now that they were working together… he had no idea how that was going to be possible…

This worked really well in this instance, because they were both people with personal issues that needed to be worked through in order to begin to have a healthy relationship with each other, and it kept the sexual tension between them simmering nicely.

"I don’t know what’s happening here… I just know I like it."

A great addition to the Warrior Fight Club series, and although Willa and her son Alex briefly appear at the end of the book, I would say it’s connection to Proby’s Crossover Collection was weak at best, not that it bothered me because Laura is an author I in general enjoy reading and Worth Fighting For is definitely worth a few hours of your time in its reading.

"I was willing all the way…"

I decided to come back to some of my favourites and Laura Kaye is one of such authors. Darling Leila, thank you for reading this one with me, it was a pleasure to write back and forth about it.

It was as good the second time around, even though I remember it being a bit steamier two years ago.

Loved this addition to the Warrior Fight Club series! And this has been another book in the Big Sky Crossover collection that I've really enjoyed. Tara and Jesse were both really fun to get to know and I thought the connection to both series was handled perfectly.

4 deep dive stars!

Yikes, I realized today that I have a bunch of books to clear off my Reading shelf! So if I forget some details about the book, I'm terribly sorry.

Thank you, Lana for recommending this as a buddy read! I pushed through reading the series out of order ;) and really enjoyed this novella of Tara & Jesse...now I need to go back and start at book #1!

She made him feel like he'd never really know warmth until he felt her sun. Like he'd never really been able to see until he stood awash in her light.

I loved everything about their meet cute! It felt so natural and not forced. Coming together over a shared plate of nachos and some great conversation. Then learning the next day that they were going to be working together on the same diving team.

I loved the camaraderie between everyone on the dive team and the fight club for wounded warriors! I felt the struggle of Tara & Jesse wanting more together but unable to because it could jeopardize the safety of their diving team.

A solid 4 star read!

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫 by Laura Kaye is a beautiful, feel-good emotional love story full of hope, possibility, and healing. I was excited to dive into this 𝑊𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑟 𝐹𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝐶𝑙𝑢𝑏/𝐵𝑖𝑔 𝑆𝑘𝑦 crossover novella because I get the best of both worlds! There is so much heart and vulnerability weaved throughout the pages of Tara and Jesse’s story. You can’t help but to feel EVERYTHING this book and this author have to give. My heart hurt every now and then for this couple, but in the end, Ms. Kaye gifted us with a happily ever after that healed and filled my heart to capacity!

Tara and Jesse hit it off immediately when they meet in a bar, bonding over shared experiences and intense chemistry they're both more than willing to start a hot affair but it all goes horribly wrong when they realise they're going to be working together. Tara lost her career in the Navy, and very nearly her life, in a horrifying underwater accident and it's taken all her courage to get back into the water as part of a commercial diving team. It's still hard to keep her focus and she really can't afford any distractions when she's on the job so being attracted to her new dive partner is her worst nightmare.

Jesse has already made a lot of mistakes and this new job was supposed to give him a fresh start so he really shouldn't be mixing business with pleasure by getting involved with Tara no matter how much he wants to. Working side by side isn't going to be easy though, especially when they already have a connection that goes far beyond simple sex.

Worth Fighting For is a fabulous instalment of the Warrior Fight Club series, Laura Kaye always manages to create such realistic characters, people you can imagine hanging out with and being friends with and I loved both Tara and Jesse. They're both complex characters who are fighting their own demons but no matter how much they want to resist each other the spark is too bright to ignore. The romance between them was really sweet and tender as well as being totally hot and I just enjoyed every minute of their story. I also love the sense of camaraderie between the diving team and the members of the Warrior Fight Club, it was great to catch up with previous characters and get glimpses of future heroes and heroines too.

This story is part of the Kirsten Proby Big Sky Crossover Collection, I believe Jesse has made previous appearances in that series but I've not read it so I can't tell you which books he shows up in. I can confirm that I wasn't at all lost reading this as part of the Warrior Fight Club books though so you don't need to be familiar with the Big Sky books to enjoy this. Laura Kaye has been a favourite author of mine for a long time now and I'll be eagerly awaiting her next release.

Tara Hunter and Jesse Anderson met as strangers in an empty bar. Over late night nachos, interest develops that leads to continued conversation and a night neither wants to end. They may have found a connection, but the moment they find out they work together, the brakes go on hard. Jesse doesn’t want to make any more mistakes on the job, and Tara needs to keep her focus. But that connection they felt on their first meeting is strong and isn’t easily ignored, especially when Jesse starts to attend Warrior Fight Club, where Tara is already a member.

Even though they hook up almost immediately, this felt like a slow burn with the amount of circling they do through the majority of the rest of the book. They want to do the right thing, and Tara is determined that the right thing is to focus on the job and not add the distraction a romantic relationship with a coworker would add.

I loved the pacing in this. It is a quick read, as a novella, but it tells a detailed tale of the struggles Tara and Jesse are dealing with in their day to day. Both have challenges that stem from their time in the military that need to be handled with care. Tara may have physical scars that have healed, but she hides her emotional ones deep. Jesse doesn’t have the obvious scars Tara does, but he holds on to some hefty survivors guilt.

I have read both of the series these characters originated from and enjoyed them. Seeing them come together here was a perfect twist. The connection to the Warrior Fight Club series is definitely stronger than the connection to Big Sky, with only a brief cameo by Willa (Jesse’s sister) and her son. Each series is so different, but blending them with these characters is a great tie in from Proby’s small town Montana to Kaye’s military heroes. It was refreshing to have the female lead be just as much a hero as the male lead, and Tara is one strong woman.

Laura Kaye has quickly become one of my top authors and I loved WORTH FIGHTING FOR so much! This book packs in the story and I fell so hard for both Jesse and Tara. Tara was the kind of strong but vulnerable heroine that I love to read about. She's overcome a lot to get to where she is but anxiety and panic attacks have plagued her life ever since she was medically discharged from the Navy. I enjoyed watching Tara find her confidence again and realize that she doesn't have to let fear rule her life.

Growing up, Jesse could never do anything good enough for his father and Jesse has carried the pressure of always messing up on his shoulders. He's put in his 20 years in the military but now that he's out he's felt adrift. Meeting Tara is like a lifeline and when she invites him to join the Warrior Fight Club at her gym Jesse finds the brotherhood he's been missing. But Jesse doesn't think he's worth fighting for and he would never do anything to jeopardize Tara's mental well being. There's just something so sweet about Jesse and how he treats Tara.

I just loved Jesse and Tara together so much; they have phenomenal chemistry and the way they lean on each other and support each other was beautiful. Their journey was equal parts beautiful and heartbreaking while still maintaining an overall uplifting tone to the story. I'm really enjoying this series and I can't wait for Sean and Dani's story because those two set off some serious sparks.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s my favorite so far in the Warrior Fight Club series (but it definitely reads well as a standalone so don’t be afraid to jump right in) and my favorite of the crossover collection books I’ve read so far. Tara and Jesse were both great and I loved them both. You could really feel the connection between them. I liked the diving setting and the supporting characters. This book felt long for a novella- I still felt the depth of characters and story. I recommend!

Powerful and so hot, Laura Kaye know show to write some of the best romances in the business! Tara (a member of Kaye's Warrior Fight Club series) has been struggling since an accident in one of her dives nearly took her life. Now a civilian, WFC and her new job have taken place of her love of the Navy and the camaraderie that goes with it. Through it all, she still struggles with her anxiety and panic attacks that are a result of that accident. While the scars may have healed on the outside, inside her mind still roils. Which leads her to her local bar and the striking eyes of one Jesse Anderson. Sweet, charming, and inexplicably sexy, one night with Jesse calms her mind and awakens her body in ways she;s never felt. But it all goes south when the next day, he walks in to her work and her new team member.

Retired from the Navy and hoping to make a new life for himself, Jesse is looking forward to working as a civilian in the water. Not much of a life and death situation but still exciting and dangerous enough to feed his adrenaline. But the night before he starts, he meets the intriguing and refreshingly beautiful Tara Hunter. Funny, sexy, and more mysterious than even Jesse can be, he strikes up an easy immediate friendship with Tara that soon turns steamy. One night and he suddenly wants more; unexpectedly, fate throws the two of them together when his new job is working alongside her.

Despite all they have in common and the undeniable chemistry between them, both of them seem to hold back on what could be their HEA. Tara fears her concern of Jesse's well-being will overtake her ability to care for their entire crew. Add on her anxiety and she truly fears losing Jesse so instead of risk it, she pushes him away. Jesse accepts this and fears he's not worth fighting for so he let's her go. Weeks go by as the two struggle to deny their attraction and let me tell you the tension is WORTH THE WAIT! This novella parading as a novel is so sweet and powerful; and reminds you that inner strength can outshine physical strength any day!

Series: Warrior Fight Club #2.5; Big Sky #4.3
Rating: 4 stars - It was really good

Veteran Tara Hunter wants to see more of her sexy one night stand but what she doesn’t expect is for him to be the new guy at her commercial diving job. Will they be able to make a relationship work while staying professional at work? Or is their relationship over before it's even started.

As with all Laura Kaye books, this was an emotional one. These two were so sweet and I loved every minute of their story. Tara was a strong heroine who has overcome a lot to be able to do the job she loves. She still suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, but she manages them and it doesn’t interfere with her job. You can see her confidence in her diving build the more she gets into the water.

Jesse left the Navy after putting in his twenty years but now he is struggling to figure out what he wants to do with himself. He also is struggling to feel like he is good enough because he grew up being told he never was. Now he is filled with guilt and fear of messing up. Meeting Tara was the best thing that could happen to him, especially since she invites him to the Warrior Fight Club and he finds the brotherhood he has been missing.

Tera and Jesse were just a great couple. They had great chemistry, they were supportive, and they could lean on each other when they needed to. This was just a beautiful and heartbreaking story that I couldn’t put down, which is why Kaye is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors.

Worth Fighting for by Laura Kaye is part of her Warrior Fight Club series and part of The Kristen Proby Crossover collection. This is a great read for those that love Laura and/or are new to her! I have read a few books by Laura Kaye and have truly enjoyed them! I have added all of them to my TBR! This one offers us a story full of emotions, hope, and recovery.

Tara and Jesse have a night to remember and it was supposed to end there but are later surprised to learn they will be working together. So, no matter how strong the attraction and connection is, nothing more can come it. But neither can deny what they feel or want. Worth Fighting For by Laura Kaye was a quick read that was emotional, heartwarming and charming. Watching Tara and Jesse fall pulls you right in from beginning to end.

*Audiobook Review*

Worth Fighting for was another great addition in Kristen Proby’s Big Sky Crossover Series. This was my first book by Laura Kaye and throughly enjoyed it. Jesse is Willa’s brother. He is somewhat disconnected from the family back in Cunningham Falls and feeling broken without the military. Tara is a commercial diver, a former Navy Diver dealing with some anxieties about her past. Jesse and Tara hook up for a one night stand. Their connection and chemistry were explosive! What they don’t expect is to run into each at work the next day. Both of these characters together have beautifully broken pasts and it took them some time to accept it but they compliment each other in a beautiful way and falling in love is just what they needed to feel complete. The epilogue was my favourite! So sweet.

Andi Arndt nevers disappoints. Her narration was PERFECTION!

I love this series so much. Wounded warriors making a comeback as civilians with all the support of more veterans. Oh--and a little bit of romance added in. I also follow the Big Sky series and was happy to see Jesse get flushed out more as a character.

Both of the main characters have served in the military. Because of that, they not only understand each other, they also know what it will take for them to let their barriers down and be loved. Both Tara and Jesse are carrying extra baggage but ultimately, their hearts get tangled and they are able to move forward together.

Loved seeing more of the Fight Club gang. Can't wait for the next book to come out! Great story!

This one was really fun to read. I loved how Tara and Jesse met, how they shared a meal and just talked and of course later. With how they met I wasn't surprised when Jesse ended up working at Tara's job and how awkward it was for them. They dealt with things pretty good, but I hated how they held each other at arms length for the most part, but there were times when they gave each other much needed support.

I loved how Tara brought Jesse to Warrior Fight Club, that she shared that part of her life with him. Jesse seemed to embrace the group like she did.

I loved the ending, loved that Jesse found a way for them to be together, how Tara was able to bring Jesse back to his family.

Worth Fighting For (Warrior Fight Club, #2.5; Big Sky, #4.3) by Laura Kaye

Laura Kaye takes romance up a notch. Worth Fighting For is an adrenaline junkie's dream. Jesse and Tara, not only celebrate the human spirit, but also show the determination of the heart. In a field that's as dangerous as it is rewarding, two risk takers learn how to navigate love. Kaye is not about making love an easy road, she thrives on the uphill battle. The main character within a Laura Kaye story is not necessarily the people you meet, but the emotions they make you feel.

Well, we sure did get a lot of bang for these 170 or so pages. This starts off pretty hot and I liked it. But even though there is some pretty insta everything, this was a very well developed story with great characters, great plot, and a very satisfying ending. Laura Kaye never let's me down. 4,5 stars!

Laura Kaye knows how to write romance and you can tell by how satisfied you feel with her novellas. It takes talent to write a shorter story without something missing and Worth Fighting For doesn’t lack anything! It has an adorable couple, a sexy first encounter and a slow burn romance full of emotions.

Tara and Jesse are veterans and they try to adjust to their new lives as civilians. After a fun and hot night, they both know that there is something there, but soon they realize how difficult is to mix business with pleasure.

Tara is a strong woman who is fighting every day with her vulnerabilities. I love her will to overcome her struggles and it is admirable seeing finding her strength and confidence.

Jesse might not have physical scars but he carries some guilt from his past. He is so sweet to Tara and he treats her like a gentleman. He knows when to push and when to retreat. He is the perfect man who respects and understands his partner.

Their relationship is perfectly balanced. There is sweetness although they burn the sheets. There is fiery chemistry between them and although they resist each other, their want is so obvious. I love most of all their maturity and owning their mistakes. They are open with their feelings even when they mess up. I love when there is no drama for the sake of it.

Although, it’s a quick story, their progression as a couple is so believable. It isn’t rushed or missing the obvious steps of a relationship.

This story is about healing, forgiveness and love! I cannot wait for the next one in the series as the following couple sets some serious sparks!

In a chance encounter, Tara and Jesse meet one night at a bar and have instant chemistry and a friendly banter between them. One thing leads to another and the next morning, she realizes that she had sex with her new partner. How will they deal with having to work together?

Both Tara and Jesse are carrying baggage from their Navy careers that ended in devastation, nightmares, and heartbreak. You can feel their pain from everything that they have been through coming off of the pages. Tara was almost killed in an underwater accident and Jesse feels the loss of his teammates under his watch.

I love how they are together and how Jesse is able to she Tara’s struggles and be able to take care of her.

The is a fantastic addition to Laura Kaye’s Warrior Fight Club and I loved Tara and Jesse.

This is a great little novella in the Warrior Fight Club series, and it's also a crossover with Kristen Proby's Big Sky series.

Tara Hunter almost died in an on-the-job accident while on a dive in the Navy. After her medical discharge, she was at loose ends, and was scared to get back in the water again. Once she overcame that fear, she got a job working as a commercial diver, doing similar work to what she was doing before. Her job is everything to her, and she has ways she's found of keeping her anxiety as low as possible. She can't let anything distract her, or hold her back.

Jesse Anderson is also a former Navy diver, though he retired after 20 years of service. He joined straight out of high school, so this civilian life has left him scrambling a bit. He's excited to score the commercial diving gig in D.C., and goes out the night before since he can't sleep. He meets Tara in the local bar, and they have an amazing night together. When he shows up to work on his first day the next morning, there she is. How can he make her see they might have something that's worth the risk to pursue?

Jesse and Tara had a such a great meet cute, and their connection was palpable right from the start. They were drawn to each other, even after they figured out all the reasons why they shouldn't be. I loved the ways they found to be there for each other when the other one needed them, even when they weren't really "together". They really came to care for each other deeply, and were struggling with the idea of how to make it work. It was bittersweet at times, and often it made me sad. But they both deserved to be happy so much.

I loved getting to see the whole Warrior Fight Club crew from the prior 2 books. Jesse took to the group so well, and that was fun to see. Also, their work colleagues on their dive team were hilarious too. I wouldn't mind knowing more about some of them in the future as well! Seeing how well Jesse and Tara fit into all the aspects of each other's lives was really lovely, and I was just waiting for them both to see it too.

There were a lot of heartfelt, sad moments in this story, but that made the ultimate payoff so much better. I'd definitely like to go back and read about Jesse's sister in Kristen Proby's companion book, which this story is related to. I'd love a little more detail into Jesse's family life before he left for the military, and how everything was back home from his sister's POV.

This was a sweet, sexy story, and I loved how meant-for-each-other this couple was, right from the start. I definitely recommend this story, and I can't wait for the next book where we'll finally get Sean and Dani's story! They've been dancing around each other through 3 books, and it's finally their turn!

Tara Hunter is a commercial diver for a diving and salvage company in Washington D.C. She is also a member of the Warrior Fight Club, an MMA training club for veterans. Tara learns that her one-night stand is actually the newest member of her dive team. She tries to maintain a professional distance between her and Jesse Anderson. Can Tara overcome her anxieties for Jesse? Or will their jobs stand in the way of their relationship?
Former Petty Officer Jesse Anderson pursues a new career in commercial diving. Washington D.C. promises a fresh start away from his past mistakes. Jesse hopes his one night stand with team member Tara does not jeopardize their work relationship. However, he wants more than one night. Can Jesse conquer his emotional demons for Tara? Can they overcome the obstacles in their way?
Tara is such an inspirational heroine. She is equal parts tough-as-nails and vulnerable. I like how Tara’s brush with death in the navy convinced her to live in the now. She knows there will always be difficult times, but she refuses to allow them to hold her back. I admire how Tara acknowledges her handicaps instead of denying their existence. It shows the inner strength she possesses. What I like most about Tara is how she gives Jesse back his family. Sometimes a non-family member’s point of view helps a person realize what they still have.
Jesse is such a sweetheart. I love how he honors and immortalizes his fallen comrades. He refuses to forget the sacrifices they made. I like how Jesse acknowledges and admires Tara’s skills as a diver. He does not let her gender cloud his opinions. I adore the fact that Jesse wants to adopt the pets no one else wants. What I like the most about Jesse is the care and silent support he demonstrates to Tara. He never revealed her anxiety issues to their team; instead, he discreetly tries to help her in small ways.
WORTH FIGHTING FOR is book 2.5 in Laura Kaye’s romantic-suspense series, WARRIOR FIGHT CLUB. It is also a part of Kristen Proby’s Crossover Collection. I am unfamiliar with Kristen Proby and her BIG SKY series. That, however, did not hinder my ability to follow the plot and characters.
WORTH FIGHTING FOR is a heartening tale of two wounded souls confronting their demons to be together. I did not want this story to end. I cannot wait for Dani and Sean’s book.

When Tara meets Jesse one night at the bar and ends up spending a super steamy night in bed with him, little does she know that she's just had a sexual encounter with her new partner. Oops! This book is worth reading just for the tension that fills the pages when these two meet the next day and realize how they know each other. I adored this part of the book and the rest of it as well.

After a very tense meeting, Jesse and Tara still have some unresolved sexual feelings for each other and both are fighting it hard because they work together. Laura Kaye does an incredible job of showing how dangerous it really is for Jesse and Tara to work together with how they feel toward each other. It really made me think about the risks of working with a loved one in a dangerous profession.

Both Jesse and Tara have baggage from their military days that they are dealing with as well. Tara is recovering from a devastating almost fatal accident underwater, and Jesse mourns the loss of his teammates under his watch. It's all very emotional and I could feel their pain -- from their past and also the pain they feel for not being able to really be together in the present.

I just loved this story! Tara is really awesome -- I love strong, smart and capable and she's got it. Jesse is perfect too, especially when he recognizes when Tara is struggling and does everything right to take care of her. Worth Fighting For is a perfectly sized novella with great characters, a fabulous story of healing and moving on, and it all worked for me. Loved it!

Tara Hunter and Jesse Anderson are warriors in every sense of the word, fighting for their country and now themselves in hopes of conquering their demons, their scars and their fears. These two know what sacrifice is…what it means to fall down and get back up, regardless of the personal cost, and now as civilians, they’re working to get their lives back on track remaining focused on what’s important…on what gives them peace amidst the chaos.

Tara and Jesse didn’t fight their attraction when they first met, giving into their lust for one another for one-night of passion, but now that their lives have crossed paths again in a professional capacity, they’ll have to decide if what the feel for each other is worth fighting for…

Despite Tara and Jesse’s initial night together, when they start working together, any kind of forward progress when it comes to non-plutonic relationship hits a roadblock, causing these two to circle around each other until they can figure out if they can help heal one another’s wounds while still fighting for themselves as well.

Laura Kaye’s Warrior Fight Club series is full of heart, illustrating the strength of its characters and proving that the definition of a warrior is ever-changing because every single person has the ability and the will to fight for what matters most and love is absolutely something to fight for.

I always enjoy whatever Laura Kaye writes and this book was no exception. In this part of the crossover, we have Tara from the Warrior fighting club series and Jesse from the Big Skye series. He is Willa's brother which you might know if you are familiar with the latest Big Skye book. She and her brother might not have the best relationship, but she makes an appearance in this book!

I loved Tara and Jesse's first meeting and how they bonded over food. Their story might seem light and breezy but as the pages were passing and we dove deeper into the demons they had I realized that a lot of things were going on and they needed to fight them. I also loved everything that Jesse did for Tara. He showed us how much he cared for her and that's all I can ask from a hero in a story.

I liked that we saw some of the warrior club and the people from the series and that they didn't take over. They were in the background, but Dani the heroine of the upcoming book made an impression and her light shone a little bit brighter. We see Tara and Jesse working together and that part of the story had some of the most intense scenes in the book.

Overall the book was very good and I think that you should give it a try even if you are not familiar with either series.

I read 4 books for this collection ...my faves in this order (i must say that none of these stories are similar, unless u say they are all romance reads??! so u can not really judge them this or that, just that i enjoyed one more than other, maybe that i connected more with one, 'cause of the characters, emotions i felt, memories it made me think of or whatnot? tunes, visuals, whatever, if that makes any sense? i've read all authors before, expect Samantha Young, she is a newbie author to me, love finding new authors and enjoyed these reads so so much.) Hold On by: Samantha Young, Worth Fighting For by: Laura Kaye, All Stars Fall by Rachel Van Dyken and Wicked Force by: Sawyer Bennett. I think for a lot of folks who are familiar with these authors and their books and ones who have kept up with their reads u will probably follow more or understand more than i did. look forward to more from all these authors ... can't wait!! must reads for sure! I loved reading Tara and Jesse's love story. This is one of the books that is part of the crossover group with Kristen Proby. Jesse is the one connected to Cunningham Falls. Tara and Jesse meet at a bar by chance when neither one of them can sleep. The attraction is instant and the more time they spend talking, the more they enjoy each other's company. Both are running from something in their past, but yet they feel connected to each other. After spending a glorious night together, Tara leaves early the next morning because her diving job starts back up. When Jesse awakes, he's upset because he doesn't find a note from her and he really thought they had something together. When he starts his new job, he discovers that he will be working alongside Tara. Their relationship runs hot and cold because they don't know how to make things work while working together. When Jesse pushes Tara away, she thinks that she has lost him for good. Jesse ends up doing something to ensure that they have a future together, but he is hoping that it is not too late for them.
