Match Report - 09 Mar 2019, Dunfermline City Hockey Club Dunfermline City First Team drew with Reivers

City hosted Reivers at Woodmill High.

City started the better side with Whitsed playing some excellent balls forward. But Reivers scored against the run of play with an edge of luck and really poor defending. From that point Reivers were more dominant and unfortunate not to be further ahead. City fluffed a short corner when they should have done better whole Santi was unlucky as the keeper saved his goal bound shot.

Second half City were marginally better by Reivers were creating the more threating chances. Reivers had the ball in the goal but the umpire had blown and not played advantage which he should have done. From the resulting short corner reivers thought they had scored again but the goal was chopped off as it was slap hit into the top of the net.

Miller almost got through on goal from a Fleming pass which he blew as City looked to get back in the game.

Santi had a great effort saved by the keeper off his back stick. City blew another short corner.

Finally City got an equaliser. Fleming played the ball route one to Miller. With Santi in support Miller slipped it forward into his path where Santi cooly slotted home for his first goal for City. 1.1 whistle went.

Kinnear was sent off (Green) for a poorly timed tackle while Al Green was carded for arguing with the umpire.

Excellent finish to the game. We played poorly and Reivers will feel gutted to have lost that. But it's about putting the ball in the goals.

Next up Stirling away 4pm next Saturday.
