Mistress of randy Church of Scotland Reverend who cheated on his wife insists he deserves lifetime ban from pulpit

Gill Toosey, 61, ended her 19-year marriage to be with the clergyman only for him to dump her by letter

THE mistress of a minister suspended by the Kirk for cheating on his wife insists he deserves a lifetime pulpit ban.

Gill Toosey, 61, of Dunoon, Argyll, said after her fling with Rev Ian Campbell Bradley, 68: “How could he stand there preaching about morals?”

The singer ended her 19-year marriage to be with the cheating clergyman — only for him to dump her.

She revealed she fell for the retired professor - a minister at Holy Trinity Church in St Andrews - during an intense three-month relationship that left her convinced the pair had “something special”.

The infatuated musician decided to leave her hubby but Rev Bradley coldly ditched her by letter, breaking her heart.

And she blasted the clergyman, claiming he has portrayed their romance as “seedy” since confessing to his wife and being rapped by church bosses for his conduct.

Gill insisted: “We had something special, or at least that’s what I was made to believe.

“I definitely wasn’t just a one-night stand but, in the end, that’s how he made me feel.

“If he loved his wife so much, why was he with me?

“I feel sorry for her. She must have been through hell.

“How could he — a minister in his position — do that? I want the public to know the truth about a Church of Scotland minister.

“He ended my marriage — if I hadn’t met him I would still be with my husband.”

We told how the love rat was banned from the pulpit for a year after Gill complained to Church of Scotland chiefs.

COUPLES' RETREAT

SECRET lovers Gill and Bradley enjoyed a romantic break at a Victorian “Gingerbread House” costing £650 a week to rent.
The love nest near Lochgilphead, Argyll, boasts a roaring fire and four-poster bed.
Its website blurb describes it as an “idyllic holiday home” set in peaceful woodland. Gill said: “I treasure the time we had. Ian and I visited several sites — standing stones, cup and ring markings, Crinan Canal, his Campbell family grave at Carsaig, and his ancient ruined family Campbell Croft.”
Bradley admitted “inappropriate intimate sexual relations” with Gill during a four-day break in October 2016.

But she believes the randy rev should never preach again. Gill said: “It’s a disgrace that he would be allowed back on the pulpit.

“How could he go back and stand there preaching about what’s right and wrong? He cheated on his wife and broke my heart.

“It would be immoral for him to continue when he is a hypocrite — and a year suspension makes me feel it isn’t being taken seriously.”

The pianist told how they started exchanging emails after she met Rev Bradley with his wife in December 2015 at a church concert.

But Gill told how things heated up while she was on holiday in Sardinia, Italy, eight months later.

Rev Bradley gave her the pet name “Toosey Woosey” and said he looked forward to “canoodling”.

Gill said: “He asked me to go on Facebook Messenger and he started to message me. From then it was addictive, we talked all the time.

“And because I was swimming a lot, he called me his mermaid.

“We realised something special was happening. I felt like a teenager, I was so happy.

“We didn’t think about our other halves, I was swept away.”

She met up with the retired uni professor in Oxford in September 2016 at the Ashmolean Museum.

She said: “I packed a picnic and my husband made the sandwiches. But we ended up laying down on my picnic blanket kissing all day — sipping the Prosecco I’d secretly packed.

Novel inspired by fling passion with cheating minister

SPURNED Gill revealed she wrote a novel inspired by her passionate fling with Rev Bradley.
The singer and pianist, 61, said penning her tome In Mysterious Ways was “very cathartic”.
But retired St Andrews University professor Bradley threatened legal action fearing the events depicted could be linked to him.
Gill said: “He wanted everything changed, character names and place names. He even threatened to get lawyers involved at one point but I got my book published.” She said the novel was finished in a matter of weeks after a period of intense writing after he broke her heart.
She added: “The writing just poured out of me, it was very cathartic.
“I would stay up all night and write — it only took about two months.”
A teaser for the £10.99 novel, for sale on Amazon, reads: “Dr Euan Magnus Campbell Gregory, minister and chaplain at St Giles College, Glasgow University, meets Isla Taylor, a married soprano, classical pianist and teacher, in church one afternoon during a Christmas concert.”
We told how Gill met Bradley at a service at his Holy Trinity Church in St Andrews in late 2015.
At the time he was also chaplain at the town’s famous university.
The book was eventually released in May last year

“The look on his face was like he had sinned and he felt guilty.

"He said, ‘I have prayed for the both of us and our families and that’s all I can do.’

"But it didn’t stop him kissing me in the back of my car. He ducked under the footwell when someone went past.

“He was so paranoid about any people recognising him.”

Rev Bradley then invited her for a four-day stay at a cabin in Argyll the next month while his wife was in Australia.

Gill, of Dunoon, told her hubby she was on a spiritualist retreat with the churchman and others.

But she revealed: “It wasn’t long before we were enjoying a candlelit bath together. We couldn’t wait to get our hands on each other.

“It was so romantic and passionate. He made me feel alive.

“I had bought some new lacy underwear to put on. We made love on the four-poster bed — we had candles in the room. It was so romantic, it didn’t feel wrong.

“However, with his heart condition and all, sometimes it wouldn’t work for him, but we pleasured each other in other ways.

“He told me he’d never had such an amazing time in bed.

“But he was worried about his condition — he was probably terrified he’d collapse and have to explain being with me in this cottage.”

But a couple of days after returning home from the retreat, Rev Bradley dumped Gill by letter.

She revealed: “He basically told me he needed space and time to sort his head out. He said he couldn’t leave her — my heart sank.

“I was inconsolable, so I had to explain everything to my husband — I wanted a divorce.”

Within 24 hours of asking for space Rev Bradley was messaging her on Facebook, Gill claimed.

But he then cut all contact and deleted her as a friend from the social media site.

It was only when she got a note in the post, she found out why.

She said: “His wife found out and he claims she made him write to break it off.”

A lunch date last December ended with her reporting him to his bosses.

Rev Bradley admitted having “inappropriate intimate sexual relations” with Gill.

But he is still listed as an associate minister at the Holy Trinity Church. He declined to comment.
