Woman broke into two homes, tried to steal baby

A woman broke into someone's house, tried to steal a baby and yelled, "Monkeys are out to get me," Spartanburg County deputies said. Deputies responded to 5th Street on Friday in Spartanburg County in reference to a burglary. Deputies struggled to put a woman into the back of the patrol car. The woman was identified as Brandi Nichole Almond, deputies said. While they were trying to restrain her, she kept yelling "monkeys are out to get me," deputies said.A man who was home said he heard a noise in the baby's room so he went to check it out. He said Almond, who he didn't know, was on top of the dresser trying to hide. When the man asked her what she was doing, she said, "Give me the baby, I got to go, they are coming," deputies said. The man said she repeated that multiple times. She attempted to grab the baby from his wife. Then she laid down in the front yard for a few minutes before going into the house next door. The man said the door to his house was locked. Almond went into the neighbors house and was rambling for help, deputies said. She was asked to leave and she got on her hands and knees. The person in the house drug her outside by her arm, deputies said. Almond laid down in tree branches outside of the house to hide from the police, deputies said.Almond was taken to Spartanburg Regional and then to the Spartanburg County Jail. She was charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, deputies said.

Deputies struggled to put a woman into the back of the patrol car.

The woman was identified as Brandi Nichole Almond, deputies said.

While they were trying to restrain her, she kept yelling "monkeys are out to get me," deputies said.

A man who was home said he heard a noise in the baby's room so he went to check it out. He said Almond, who he didn't know, was on top of the dresser trying to hide.

When the man asked her what she was doing, she said, "Give me the baby, I got to go, they are coming," deputies said.

The man said she repeated that multiple times. She attempted to grab the baby from his wife. Then she laid down in the front yard for a few minutes before going into the house next door.

The man said the door to his house was locked.

Almond went into the neighbors house and was rambling for help, deputies said. She was asked to leave and she got on her hands and knees. The person in the house drug her outside by her arm, deputies said.

Almond laid down in tree branches outside of the house to hide from the police, deputies said.

Almond was taken to Spartanburg Regional and then to the Spartanburg County Jail.

She was charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, deputies said.
