Liam Christopher Godber was born Monday morning to a different kind of welcome: Liam's father, Chris Godber wanted to share his love for the saxophone with his son on this special day.

When asked if Liam enjoyed the show a laughing Chris said, "He was quite vocal about it. I'll take that as a compliment."

Playing the saxophone was actually the doctor's suggestion.

"He asked me to bring my sax for the delivery today [Monday]. I thought he was kidding, but it worked out and it was fun," Chris said.

Liam isn't the only one who gets to hear the soothing strains of his father's sax. Chris is a regular at local parties.

In fact, he's been playing the saxophone for 21 years, but making beautiful music has been an uphill battle.

"My doctor said, 'Hey, you can't play the saxophone, your asthma is too bad.' And I was wanting to join middle school band. And I was like, 'This is what I really want to do. I can't do a lot of sports and things because my asthma is too bad,'" Chris explained.

Chris didn't let the news end on a sour note.

"The positive pressure and resistance it takes to play the sax has actually strengthened up my lungs in a way. I was able to overcome that and get off all the steroids and the dilators I was using. Now my asthma is very well controlled through self-therapy through the Saxophone," he said.

Now he plays the saxophone all over the country for fans and for his kids.

"I feel like it's kind of contagious when you're that passionate about something that it can't help but overflow onto the kids, hopefully," Chris said.
