SPRINGFIELD -- The Missouri State Bears will play their only preseason exhibition game of the 2018-19 season on Tuesday night (Oct. 30) when coach
Dana Ford's squad entertains cross-town foe Evangel University at JQH Arena, starting at 7 p.m.
The Bears return three senior lettermen and three other squad members from an 18-15 campaign. Missouri State's 2018-19 roster also includes nine new players, in addition to Ford, the Bears' first-year head coach.
The Crusaders were picked to finish at the bottom of the Heart of America Athletic Conference following a disappointing 8-23 season a year ago. Evangel has four seniors returning from last year's squad with Braden Adams, Luke Call, Chandler Lyon, and Jacob Smith ready for their final season in Springfield.
The Bears will open their 2018-19 regular-season slate at home on Tuesday, Nov. 6 against Oral Roberts.
