A woman linked to slain Austin mother Heidi Broussard, whose newborn was found in a Houston-area home last week, is scheduled to appear in court next Thursday.

Magen Fieramusca, 33, is set to appear in the 460th District Court before Judge Geoffrey Puryear at 9 a.m. on Jan. 2, according to a spokesperson for the Travis County District Court on Thursday.

Broussard’s body was found Dec. 19 shoved inside the trunk of a car parked outside a Houston-area home. Broussard’s baby, 4-week-old Margot Carey, was found unharmed inside the home.

The next day, Fieramusca was charged with two counts of felony kidnapping and one count of tampering with a corpse. She remained in the Travis County Jail on Thursday with bail set at $600,000.

Austin police confirmed last week they arrested a person linked to Broussard’s death on the same charges, but declined to say whether or not it was Fieramusca, citing the ongoing investigation.

The American-Statesman tried again to confirm the identity Thursday but was told by Austin police that a judge has sealed all information in the case for the next 30 days.

The two attorneys representing Fieramusca, Jackie Wood and Brian Erskine, released a statement Thursday saying they do not know when Fieramusca will appear in court.

The Travis County district attorney’s office also has not released any information to the attorneys regarding additional charges that Fieramusca may face as Austin police continue investigating Broussard’s death, according to the statement.

"As with every American accused of a crime, unless the state can prove these allegations beyond any reasonable doubt, Ms. Fieramusca is innocent,“ the statement said.

Neighbors near the Houston-area home where Broussard’s body was found said Fieramusca lived there with a man named Christopher Green, who told authorities he believed the baby was his own child. Green said he thought Fieramusca was pregnant and gave birth to the baby while he was out of town, according to authorities in Harris County.

Law enforcement sources said they suspect that Fieramusca, whom Broussard once called her best friend on social media, pretended to be pregnant during Broussard’s pregnancy and plotted to kidnap Margot.

Margot was returned to her father, Shane Carey, on Christmas Eve.

Heidi Broussard’s mother, Tammy Broussard, told ABC News the family plans to hold a public viewing in Lake Charles, La., from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home.

A funeral is scheduled for noon Saturday at the same venue, Tammy Broussard told ABC. The Austin mother will be buried at Highland Memory Gardens cemetery in Lake Charles, she said.
