The Scotland striker didn't appear for an Intermediate Diet at Edinburgh Justice of the Peace Court in connection with a speeding charge this morning.

The 28-year old is alleged to have driven his car at 54 mph in a 40 mph zone on the A90 between the Burnshot Flyover and Cammo Road in Edinburgh on January 21 this year.

Griffiths, from East Lothian, wasn't at the court on September 18.

A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf and he was ordained to appear today.

Solicitor Victoria Good, acting on behalf of Griffith's lawyers, tendered their apologies for their client's non-appearance.

They stated there had been "a mix-up in the dates".

She said the Hoops ace maintained his plea of Not Guilty.

Earlier this morning Griffiths was active on his Instagram account.

He posted a pic of fellow Celtic star Scott Brown mocked up as Columbian footie legend Carlos Valderrama.

It came with a caption reading: "My man @broony08 looking superb."
