Before even diving into this baby I knew it would be one of those where I’d be anxiously awaiting the shoe to drop and yet not wanting it to at the same time, and I was absolutely correct. I spent almost the entire book with my stomach in knots KNOWING what was going to happen, but I also ended up smiling like a goof ball through most of it as well (thank goodness for #snowmaggedon since I was at home so no one witnessed it) and didn’t want it to end.

I really liked Nic and Elle. Nic is a charming S.O.B, he really is and it isn’t solely due to his occupation. It’s simply apart of his DNA, which made it hard to not like the guy. But he also has this sense of honor that comes out at the most inopportune, or not - totally depends on your POV - that proves what a good man he is. Elle is a sassy thing who leads with her heart. She has her hang ups and may not be the most confident of people, but when she chooses a path she goes for it and gives it her all.

While there weren’t too many surprises on their journey to their HEA, it was still an enjoyable one regardless of the anticipation (anxiety) of when the shoe would drop. Experiencing Nic and Elle getting to know one another was a lot of fun and the chemistry between them was HAWT! As for that shoe...I was honestly irritated by how it was dropped, I mean there were only so many ways it could have happened, but I wanted to reach out and smack the person who did it and what was said because I was all “oh no you didn’t” but it happened. I also could have gone for more groveling, but knowing the kind of person Elle was, I got why there wasn’t and was happy for them in the end.

This was a fun, quick read that was sweet, smexy and while low on angst definitely kept me on my toes. And after reading that little tease of The Hookup Handbook I cannot wait to get to know Case a lot better!
