Strictly Come Dancing hunk Thom Evans is leaving the UK for New York to try and make it as a top model

STRICTLY COME DANCING hunk Thom Evans is planning to head stateside to make it big in America.
The retired rugby player, 31, is hoping his ‘look’ will fare better with the yanks.
Thom told The Sun’s Bizarre at the Nordoff Robbins Six Nations Dinner: “I might go to New York and spend a bit of time there and do it properly cause I haven’t really like committed fully to the modelling in the past.
“But I think I might give it a proper go really. I seem to have a better look over in the States, I seem to get a lot more work.”
Thom switched to modelling after being forced to retire from rugby aged 24, due to a serious neck injury.
He previously played for the Scottish international team and later the Glasgow Warriors.
Since giving up the sport he went on to appear on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014—getting voted out in the fifth week.
He has previously dated Kelly Brook and the pair were even expecting a baby at one point but Kelly sadly miscarried.
In 2013 she announced via Twitter that they had split.
Thom appeared on a celebrity version of Take Me Out last year with 5ive member Ritchie Neville.
He made a shock revelation on the show, telling the girls he used to be in a boyband.
Thom revealed: “We used to be in a boyband where we supported Peter Andre and Westlife.
“Now sadly all the singing I do is alone in the shower.”
Speaking at the event last night, Thom branded the experience “terrifying”.
“It has been so sweet girls private messaging me on social media saying, ‘all you had to do was ask for a date and I would have taken you out’. Really kind and sweet.
“It’s terrifying coming down that lift. It was really intimidating but the girls were all lovely and they had such good banter so they made it quite easy. I really enjoyed it and Paddy McGuinness is a legend.”
On the show Thom ended up being paired with Tabitha but he confessed he hasn’t seen her since filming.
“She’s a sweet girl but I’m very much single.”
Back in September Thom took part in a slightly more challenging reality TV show - Bear Grylls' Celebrity Island - but only managed to last one episode.
He and JLS star Ashton Merrygold decided enough was enough during the second episode.
